Another burst of bubble in the so called promising field of medical transcription.  One of the oldest medical transcription offices in India has dropped the axe on its employees in New Delhi.

Transcend services fired 151 employees of its acquired company Heartland Transcription in New Delhi without any prior intimation earlier this month.

In a sudden change of events, the employees were

After the angst expressed by the $14-billion Indian BPO industry over the new data protection rules this year, the government has finally relented. It has clarified that the new rules won't apply to outsourcing providers located in India.

After Nasscom's submission, the government this week issued a clarification stating that BPOs located in India will be governed only by specific contracts

The industry body for software and services companies has expressed its anger on the new IT rules 2011, notified by the government, saying they will adversely impact the $76-billion Indian IT-BPO industry.The rules will impact a large number of BPOs which collect credit card or financial information from companies and individuals in US or Europe on behalf of banks like UBS, Wachovia, Wells
