How many times have you looked at the clock and realized it was five o’clock and the only thing on the stove was the leftover morning grits?

I am raising my two toes painted, three toes not foot right now since I am typing. The reason two toes got lucky was because I was heading out the door for church in my open toe pumps and realized my big toe looked like my old smoking grandma’s yellow big toe. And they do have lights at church so it seemed like the thing to do in a rush. Come on can I get an Amen?

How to Save Money On Diapers, A Real Mom’s Decision

There are several options:

Find great deals online or at the store
Use cloth diapers
Teach Elimination Communication

Cloth diapers are great, especially if you have a decent washer machine, it’s not in the basement and you have the time. Each year they come out with some great new cloth diaper designs. ZombieMommyJoy did her research and fell in love with Grovia (check out the Owl cover, isn’t it cute?).

The best part is that you can actually sell your cloth diapers when you are finished for 65%-90% of your investment at DiaperSwappers or Craigslist! When I went full force into cloth diapering, Bum Genuis was the hottest diaper at the moment. Seriously these cloth diapers are a lot different than your Grandmas.

However, ff this is isn’t for you, and it wasn’t for me after kid four, paper is the easiest. Here is how I save on diapers today.

Note, I am not going to talk about Amazon Mom, they have recently reorganized that program so I don’t think it’s worth promoting anymore.

5 More Things Not To Buy at Aldi

I love Aldi and shop there at least twice a month. In fact I end up hardly at the other stores because I buy so much at Aldi.

My favorite things to buy every month are butter, oats, chips, coffee (german roast is great $4.69 for 17oz), tortillas, beans dried and canned, tomatoes, tomato sauce, toilet paper ($2.49 they have 1,000 sheet roll model-hee hee), butter, laundry detergent ($2.59 for 32 loads?), onions, potatoes, butter, chicken broth, banana, grits, parmesan, no high fructose jelly, molasses and raisins.

Now if you don’t like something at Aldi you get a double back guarantee! Pretty awesome.

And here is part two of what I have found is not a good value. Go here for part one.

Corn Meal Self Rising Flour (cornbread comes out dry).
Half and Half (it has a lot of chemicals)
Meat in general (some people love it, I say nah)
The bread (not tasty and kinda stale)
Frozen Peas

Like I said Aldi is awesome. My location is clean. Just remember to bring a shopping cart and a quarter! You have to rent the cart, that way they don’t pay for bag boys/cart people. It is a fine tuned German operation on most days I think they have 3 people running the whole store, which is where they save their money, head (not over, not under).
