Having explored different possibilities and genres with his many projects, 2015 saw the Dutch artist releasing as Conforce Presentism. After a series of prized splits and collaborations, M_REC LTD's own Max_M returns with 'Dissertation', his latest fullyfleshed
solo effort.

'The Kidnapper Bell' was his last EP for M_REC LTD. The avid vinyl lover and collector has since put his "maximalist" values to work sharing wax with the likes of Fabrizio Lapiana of Attic Music, as well as with newcomers Wrong Assessment. Not one to rush things, 'Dissertation' then comes at a peak time for Max_M and M_REC LTD, representing the culmination of a ceaseless dedication to the type of stolid, hypnotic brand of techno intrinsic to both chief and label. "Exceeding Brightness" governs the A-side with blue blips set to a progressive chugging pace, enveloped in a trademark background of fuzzy mechanical whirrs. "Architectural Lie" then opens up the B-side with a loop of warm chords that roll into a tumult of diffused hats and jangled melodies. "Scape Sequences" concludes in a subaqueous fashion; viscous, heady and stupefying.

After last year's swampy Aber for their first Grey Series outing, Ash sees the production partnership revived in the form of a trio of gritty, excursive techno works. Starting with cut one on the A-side, Ash simultaneously builds and decomposes, eked along with hypnotic loops and irritated layers of noise to conclude in a creaking industrial crescendo on the B-side.

Who is moodcut? This is a question being thrown around pretty frequently these days and rightly so, since dropping the ‘Tame Cats’ EP on nous-disques back in November, moodcut has gone from being an unknown artist to a producer being tipped for bigger and better things in 2015.

For this Podcast, moodcut-1 has brought together a serious selection of dusty house burners, Chicago and Detroit infused cuts and the hazy aspects of what made his Nous EP (and his own production) so damn infectious. Tracks from terekke, patriciaaa, route8, willis-anne and Kassem Mosse all helping to showcase the buzz and excitement that currently surrounds house music, which in (a large) part is down to labels such l-i-e-s, lobster-theremin, opal-tapes, nous-disques and Workshop, to name a few.

No matter how many more questions get asked, one thing’s for certain, moodcut just killed it with this mix.
