Do not be flaky: the good news, after a winter spent stuffing legs in skinny jeans and fleece-lined socks, is that dandruff legs are easily solved.

Lee, executive vice president of global marketing of Samsung’s mobile communications business, was in Paris to co-host a luncheon with editor Carine Roitfeld, billed as a bridge-building exercise between the technology and fashion industries.

Samsung has already tapped footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood and Milanese fashion house Moschino to decorate straps for its latest smart watch, the Gear 2, unveiled last week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Manuel Puig, Céline’s Marco Gobbetti, Pucci designer Peter Dundas, Diesel founder Renzo Rosso and Berluti’s Alessandro Sartori were among the fashion folk who assembled at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris to gawk at Samsung’s latest gadgets, including tablets with functionalities like sketching and simple copying and pasting of images.

In an interview, Lee said it’s “only a matter of time” before wearable devices, initially watches and glasses, become integrated into everyday life, just as smartphones rapidly have.

She noted Samsung has already sold more than a million units of its first smart watch since it launched last October, with the U.S. the most successful country, followed by China and Singapore.

According to Lee, mobile devices are akin to fashion in that people have an “emotional and aspirational connection to technology.”

That said, she allowed that fashion could help make devices more attractive for women, and that she’s “dreaming [of] the possibility of future collaborations.”

Many members of the fashion quotient present are already keen techies.

“I’m super connected, but I’m not crazy or obsessed,” said Sartori. “I have three phones — one personal and two for the company. One is dedicated to files and the other to pictures and Instagram.”

While Samsung was keen to highlight the sketch functionality of its latest Galaxy Tab, Sartori confessed that old-fashioned pencil and paper work better for him.

“We sketch everything by hand and then take photographs,” he said. “Even one millimeter makes a difference to the final product. That will always be the case for this level of craftsmanship.”

Eugenie Niarchos mused about bridges with the world of jewelry. “I think [technologies like these] could absolutely influence jewelry in the future,” she said, referring to “things like earpieces with Bluetooth or bracelets that could be made into some sort of expensive watch.”

While Roitfeld herself admits to not being a natural techie geek, she did say, while holding up the new Galaxy S5, also unveiled in Barcelona: “I don’t think technology when I am using this mobile. It’s like an extension of my arm, and I’m sure I’m just using a tenth of its possibilities.”

NEW YORK (AP) — The clothes that had everyone talking at MTV's Video Music Awards were mostly notable for their absence.

Miley Cyrus appeared on stage in a revealing leotard, then stripped down to a nude bikini to twerk for Robin Thicke, a protruding tongue her most prominent accessory. Lady Gaga started out in a modified nun habit before stripping to a Birth of Venus-inspired clamshell-bra bikini.
On the red carpet, though, skin was revealed a little more strategically. Even Gaga's Prabal Gurung gown, made of lame bonded satin, had a sweetheart neckline and sweet rosettes. Katy Perry flashed a lot of leg in a leopard-print Emanuel Ungaro, along with a grill that said "Roar," promoting her new single.
Taylor Swift wore an Herve Leger gown with a plunging neckline in elegant navy that matched good friend Selena Gomez — who showed some leg and seemingly half a bra in her custom Versace dress. Rita Ora had a feathered train so long she needed help carrying her gown by Alexandre Vauthier, but still flashed plenty of leg.
Among the men, Video Vanguard award winner Justin Timberlake wore a suit — but no tie. It was a look Robin Thicke also chose for the red carpet, before changing into a striped zoot suit for his performance.
Macklemore — the night's other big winner with Ryan Lewis — wore a powder blue suit and fur. (No word if it came from a thrift shop.)

Lea Michele stepped out at the Teen Choice Awards Sunday night, making her first appearance since the July 13 death of her "Glee" co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith.

Donning a pink dress and matching shoes, along with a necklace that read "Cory," Michele tearfully accepted the choice TV actress in a comedy award for her role as Rachel Berry on "Glee."

Michele got emotional speaking the first words of her acceptance speech, saying through tears, "Thank you guys. I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out here how much all of your love and support as meant to me over these past few weeks."

"Not that I had any doubt before, but we certainly do have the greatest fans in the world. I want to dedicate this award to Cory," Michele, 26, told the crowd at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. "For all of you out there who loved Cory as much as I did -- I promise you we'll get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or as Finn, he reached out and became a part of all of our hearts. So thank you guys so much."

The TV comedy musical also won choice TV comedy, which saw many of the "Glee" castmembers onstage to accept the honor, which also turned into a tribute to Monteith. Amber Riley, 27, said, "Although we lost someone that we really love and that you guys love too we are very fortunate to come back to a show where we feel the love of family and Cory was like a brother to us."

As reported on Hunan TV,
a ranking of the 10 wealthiest actresses from Hong Kong, mainland China, and Taiwan based on their income from advertisements, music records, films, and media appearances was published.
According to the ranks, Zhang Ziyi was named the wealthiest actress of them all. The Chinese actress, who rose to stardom through Ang Lee's "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" in 2000, has since starred in various other hit movies that include "House Of Flying Daggers" and "Memoirs Of A Geisha", making her annual income RMB 120 million (app. USD 19.6 million).
Meanwhile, the second place goes to early '90s biggest star, Maggie Cheung (RMB 110 million), who only lost to Ziyi because she has been less active in recent years. The same goes to Ziyi's "Memoirs Of A Geisha" co-star Gong Li (RMB 90 million), who has been less prolific these past few years.

Avril Lavigne said Chad Kroeger let her "take the reins" when it came to planning their wedding and she turned it into a true rock 'n' roll celebration … complete with a black dress.

The "Here's to Never Growing Up" singer went the nontraditional route for her second trip up the aisle, donning a black tulle Monique Lhuilliergown for her July 1 wedding to the Nickelback singer in the South of France. It was strapless and featured a full, but not princess-like, bottom.

The 28-year-old's long hair, which was loosely curled, cascaded down her back, and she had on light-catching jeweled crown-type headpiece. It seemed fitting as the wedding took place at Chateau de la Napoule, a medieval castle near Cannes. So she still had a true princess moment.

Kroeger matched his bride in black. In the photographs taken outside their wedding venue — as they watched a fireworks on a balcony — he wore a suit in the dark hue and the same color button-down shirt.

The wedding was an all-night party fit for rock stars, as we detailed here, with dinner not being served until 1:30 a.m., the cake cutting at 3:30 a.m, and guests partying until 6 a.m. However, Hello! magazine reports that the candlelight ceremony was "emotional and intimate" for the couple and their 110 guests.

"I wanted to make sure it’s a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests," the bride told the magazine.

The punk princess's wedding look was a stark contrast from her first wedding. Just 21 when she married Deryck Whibley in 2006, she wore a very traditional, classic dress — a white strapless Vera Wang with a sweetheart neck and long train. She also had a long veil.

However, as any wedding expert can tell you, brides tend to go in a different direction for a second wedding. In this case, Lavigne went a little wild ... and perhaps a more true to her personal style.

As for her decision to wear black, we've seen a lot more of the color since Vera Wang debuted a line of dresses in that shade at a runway show in 2011. Former "90210" actress Shenae Grimes wore a black and blush dress from the designer when she married Josh Beech in May.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Vera Wang, arguably the queen of red-carpet dressing, didn't go into the fashion business with stars in her eyes. She knew about its unglamorous side, the hard work and, especially, the risks. And there were plenty of doubts along the way.

But every time one person

— and, she says, it really just takes one — understands what she's trying to express with a certain drape of a fabric, a particular color or a new silhouette, she's reminded of the reason why she became involved in fashion, and why she's still in it: There's an indefinable payoff that comes when she's helped a woman look and feel her best.

"I didn't come into this like all these teenagers who don't know better. I wasn't a 'young, new designer,' but I was a new designer and had to go through those growing pains. The risks were apparent to me, and I had seen so many of my friends go through ups and downs," Wang said in a recent interview.

Wang, 63, was honored for lifetime achievement by the Council of Fashion Designers at its star-studded awards show Monday night at Lincoln Center. She accepted the award from her mentor (and former employer) Ralph Lauren.

"To all the women and men I have dressed, thank you for your trust," she said during her acceptance speech.
