Long time no talk, I know. Life gets busy, what else can I say. I really am going to make an attempt to get into beauty blogging again and I want to hopefully make some new friends along the way! Let me start by asking any of you out there, what is your favorite mascara?? I am in the market for a new one and have no idea what to buy... Let me know what you guys think.

Creme D'Nude Lipstick

I may be the last girl in the world to own Creme D'Nude by MAC. Nevertheless, I absolutely love this lipstick. I purchased it on a whim on Saturday and I have found myself not only reapplying it religiously, but staring at my lips in any reflective surface. This was definitely worth the 14.50 that I paid for it and I am now searching for an equally fabulous lipgloss to pair it with. <3

Long Time, No Talk

While my absence from this may or may not be justifiable, one thing is for certain, I have been relying on music to get me through tough times in the past months. I feel like I am at a point where I have found myself once again. A string of less than perfect relationships had hindered my ability to develop into my own person. It is an amazing feeling to feel happy in your own skin.

I have been loving the Dum Dum Girls at the moment. Not only do they have amazing style, they are living a dream of mine. Dee Dee, the lead singer of the group is the ultimate style inspiration for me.

I have been working like a mad woman for most of the year and negletting this blog like no other. Apologies are in order, but then again my absence was not without good reason. Last night was New Years Eve. I was able to get dressed up, wear my new Juicy Couture charm bracelet, eat yummy Chinese food, and go to a fun party with my love. And yet, like other social situations, present last night was the group of girls that enjoy making little side comments about other girls because they have their own self esteem issues eating them up inside and they feel the need to vent by being mean. I was young compared to others at the party. I am only 22 and the particular female that made me her target was 32. She enjoyed saying things such as, "you were not alive when this song came out," and then smiling all coy as if I was supposed to have a response. Well, I didn't have a response other than wanting to jump across the room and tackle her. The little angel on my should told me that was a bad idea ;) It just amazes me that no matter where I go, it seems like people are trying to bring me down. This year I am going to make and attempt to not care what other people think. It is going to be hard for me, because on some strange level, I do care. I need to learn to be myself no matter what other people say or do.. So this is how I am ringing in the new year. Hope you all had lovely holidays as well....

I purchased Lash Blast last night. I haven't used that mascara in probably over 3 years and I couldn't remember if I liked it or not, which may be a bad thing. I was reading one of my favorite blogs, "Pearls and Poodles" and Milly was raving about the mascara after she picked it up after a recent trip to NYC. I decided to give it a go again. I haven't worn it, but after using it for a while, I am sure a review will be in order.

I also bought strawberry Carmex. Carmex is literally my favorite thing to wear on my lips. I lasts forever and I don't have to worry about re-applying it at work and such. I have the potted version of the original Carmex, but I needed one with SPF, so I opted for the strawberry tube. Loves it.

I am too tired to post pics, and I don't see the point as most people know what both products look like, lol. Perhaps after I nap I shall upload some.

I love Audrina. She is definitely my favorite character on the Hills and I adore her style. It is the perfect mix of rocker chic with a touch of femine. I have been wearing my hair in a side braid at work constantly. It keeps me cool in the humidity and looks cute. I am desperately in need a Chanel bag and some aviators. I had the aviators, but they sadly broke over the weekend :( Oh well, here is the lovely lady...

Of course the Kardashians are all an inspiration to me. They are simply gorgeous. Kourtney's style is so fresh and flowy for summer. I adore her long waves, and gold accent pieces in every outfit. She is so flawless. Her neutral makeup look is always something I try to emulate.

I officially begin my summer job tomorrow. With this said, my nails must be a professional length and color. Lovely, boring colors when I want to wear neon! Oh well. So for my first day I chose a nice milky pink shade in Revlon's "Pink Chiffon." Two coats does the job, but three would look the most opaque. Nice neutral manicure for work, I suppose.

It is super hot out. I could not tolerate anything other than sandals and decided to wear my favorite pair. I rairly wear them because I love them and don't want them to get ruined. Weird, I know. :)

So, besides the fact that my last post said that I would not be spending money, I am going to do a product rave. It is actually something that I purchased about two months ago after watching "Gemsmaquillage" Youtube video tutorial on Kate Nash makeup for the music video "Do Wah Doo" and wanting to recreate the look. I just happened to come across a peachy colored Revlon lip gloss on the clearance rack at my local Target. When I have the option of getting a Revlon lipgloss for under 2 bucks, I am going to get it. It was in the color "Life's a Peach." When I got home I realized that the color is also SPF1 5, which is something I liked. So this product is literally my go-to lipgloss. If I can't decide what lip product to wear that day, I put it on and it always seems to work with what I am wearing. I love the idea of a peach lipgloss with a peachy blush for summer. It may appear too sheer for some, but I love it. It is such a nice gloss for layering also. I never realized so many other people were trying the prodcut either, until I read one of my favorite Youtube guru's blogs, "Jomakemeblush." She had done a haul that included the gloss. I would definitely give it 5 out of 5 and am going to be continuing wearing it constantly. :)

I love the Revlon Creme Glosses! I picked up two on a whim at my local drugstore for 75% off regular price. I got mine in the color "Hot Tamale" and "Peachy Sheen." I have been wearing Peachy Sheen for everyday use, to school and such. I love Hot Tamale for the simple fact that it is a wearable red lip without being too overbearing. The color pay off is great, but the color does start to fade after eating and what have you. The glosses are so creamy and not sticky at all, which is someting I find from other brands, like Victoria Secret. The packaging is very nice and I like the long, skinny tube. The gloss has a dial at the bottom, which you turn to get more product. The only annoying thing is the slight clicky noise it makes every time you turn it, but I think that is really minor in comparison to the quality of the product.

Dull and rainy day. The kind of day that makes one wish they had not applied layer upon layer of L'Oreal Voluminous mascara on their eyelashes because it simply smears when you walk out the door. Speaking of Voluminous, I fell back in love with it today after a slight hiatus. My eyelashes look like falsies, which lately has been the look I am loving. I have it in the Carbon Black version.

I also wore another product from L'Oreal today. It is one of their endless wear lipsticks in the color "In the Buff." It is a rather nice nude. Some find it drying, but I would never wear it without chapstick, so I don't seem to have that problem.

As not to make it a year since my last post, I have decided to take up blogging yet again. Let's skip the boring rant about being busy and such.

I recently purchased the Revlon lipstick in Pink Pout that is part of their matte line. I had heard it could be a decent dupe for the Viva Glam Gaga lipstick and Mac Snob. I was hesitant at first about buying it, but ended it up picking it up at my local Target for around 5 dollars. We were going out to dinner that night, so I decided to put it on. I put a layer of Carmex as I had heard the matte lipsticks tend to be extremely drying. After I applied it, my mother said she liked it. For some reason, my mother's opinion of makeup and clothes always solidifies things for me. She then went on to say that I looked like one of the girls on Jerseylicious on the Style Network. I don't really mind that either.... I still can't decide if I can actually pull it off. The lipstick has a blue undertone and for someone with Olive Skin such as myself, I just can't decide. I had a light blue Michael Kors blouse on today for school, so I decided to give the lipstick a try. I actually liked it and did not get as many strange looks as I thought I would from people around campus. The staying power is nice. I would never put the lipstick on without a chapstick underneath. I noticed that about after three hours, lines started to show on my lips. But, I was drinking a beverage in class, so rubbing off is to be expected. While I am still not sure if it is the right lipstick for me, I do think the color is gorgeous. I am gonna to keep wearing it most likely, until someone tells me I look like a crazy person.

This morning in the Detroit Free Press, I was performing my weekly ritual of reading the Career Builder section that my father always pushes in front of me, whilst trying to drink my coffee. This weeks feature article in the section was about how people should take to blogging as something that would coincide with a resume. The blog should not include just personal ramblings, but thoughts on worldly events and such. This blog would then become a way of obtaining a writing sample from the person applying for a specific job.

Most of the time, I like to keep my opinions to myself about current events, as not to start fights with people who you would not usually argue with. I also don’t want people to know my views on everything, because I am usually paranoid and figure that most people would want to get an edge over me. Or perhaps think that they have me all figured out. A person is more than what they blog about. Personally, if someone wanted to express every opinion that held about everything in their life, I find them a tad bit desperate. There are other ways of expressing oneself, than simply through the keyboard beneath their fingers.

Besides listening to my neighbors yelling at their kids at the top of their lungs, today has been particularly uneventful. I am accustomed to tedious days in this town. The weather isn't quite right for tanning, not that I especially feel like it at this time anyway. There is a carninval in town, which I had no idea about. It is amazing how I can live in a town and have absolutely no idea about activities going on locally. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the only places I find myself at are my home, and the two houses I work at.

I think there is something wrong with me when not anything materialistic appeals to me. I actually walked in a store in Rochester yesterday and was bored. I guess that is an okay development. Just think of all the money I will save....

I want to see several horror films coming out in September. Jennifer's Body and Sorority Row. Other than that I think that August is going to be a particularly long month.

I have no idea what I am going to do for two weeks, considering the fact that I don't have to work until August 4th.

Is it strange to be completely sick of floral prints altogether. Why do my tastes change so much? Now I am in the mood the decorate my room in a Mexican style. I found this awesome vintage pottery owl from Mexico and made Charlie buy it for me. I really wanted this large vintage print of a burlesque dancer. She sort of looked like me. $300.00 was a bit much for it I believe. I suppose I could bargain.

It was another day of learning about Bernardo O'Higgins and the Royal Navy. I have so many essays due next week, but oddly find myself dreading the end of the semester. I am just not sure of the state of things. I also keep forgetting that I even have this blog. I guess I am not a dependable person.

I am in desperate need of new reading material. I kind of want to read a classic novel, but I am pretty sure I have already read the ones that interest me. Perhaps I should venture out of my comfort zone. I feel entirely stir crazy from this terrible weather. I want sunshine. It is hard to be optimistic when the weather is entirely banal.
