Who am I?

Ever felt like you were missing something?
Not something physical, or at least I don't think so, but something else, something inside?
I get days like this where i don't feel right, where I feel something is wrong, like something is missing.
I have a sense of loss.
I can not explain this. Its almost like, I miss 'home' not in 'home' as we know it, but just that feeling of wanting to go home, where ever home is?

I am surrounded by the people I want to be with yet I feel so lonely.

I look outside into the bewilderness and I feel myself wanting to run, but to where? I don't know?
And the more I think about running the more I get scared and want to stay?

I feel choked up, almost like a mourning, my heart is going through a loss that my mind is unaware of?
What does this mean?

I wonder sometimes if i will ever belong anywhere...
Maybe thats it, maybe I don't belong here....

Is it spiritual? I don't know... I don't know who I am or why I am here..
I need to find me... I think? *sighs*

Home?

Well, we got it... Our new place, for now.

Awww its so nice and clean and fresh and backing off to the bush, or woods has we would call it.

There is Kangaroos that jump by every morning, sometimes in the evenings too, its such a wonderful sight.

A nearby park, which pleases the children...

And here is the little fella, or one of them anyway...

Although we are a krillion times happier in this house. It doesn't have that homely feel about it.

Maybe because its someone elses and we are conscious of that?

Waiting...

Waiting is not one of my good points.
Especially when its something that I really really really want.

We viewed a house, brand new one, about a month ago and with all the new paperwork we had to do, we missed out on it.
But with all the paperwork finished the property manager said we have a chance to get the next door. - which I think is much better than the original one.

Anyway, I have patiently waited now for what seems like weeks!, well, actually it is weeks!!...
The manager happened to ring me yesterday, I missed the call, he left a message, said he has 'conditionally accepted' our application and could we make an appointment to view the property as soon as possible.
Well, I was so excited!!! Rang my husband up. He rang the manager back and basically, all he needs is a declaration form signed and a he can pass on our forms to the owner!!
These houses are brand new. still building works going on around the homes. new grass, new estate.
He says he should have an answer for us before we view the property on Tuesday.
And I tell you. The days are dragging!!!
Its Friday today, if we don't hear anything from him, it will be a very long weekend.
I need to know if we 100% have the house.
Even though he says we are 99.999999 going to get the house. I still need to know!..

I will upload a photo of the house if we get the keys.
If there is no photo, there is no house.

Impatiently waiting......

Super Moon

Well, I didn't get to see the Moon at its Super fatness but I do take peoples word for it that it was...big?

My sweetheart went out and took some photos for me, and I thought I would show them off for you on here.

Going Shabby Chic

I have, off and on, liked Shabby Chic...
But recently I have been liking it again....A LOT !!
And am now looking into transforming my furniture..
Here I have some lovely pictures of what I really like about Shabby Chic..It says it all.

I actually attempted the shabby chic look on my own worn out dinning chairs.
But after it was done, I said to my husband "It looks old"
He said, "Isn't that the whole point?"

So, I guess I'm more towards the Chic and less Shabby ;)

A long time absent ..

Well, it has been a long time since I last updated my blog.. Last year I believe! 2011.

I think it was after hearing my dad had passed away in the United Kingdom.
Although I rarely saw him when I lived in England, he was still my dad. I am glad I got to see him before I emigrated to Australia. Even though he probably didn't remember himself. He was drunk.
He was a drunk.

Anyway. A lot has happened within that time.
We finished off Hyacinth and went on holiday with her to Poona. Oh that is a lovely peaceful place.
We had a few trips out whilst there, went to visit a little country place Maryborough. Oh the people there were ever so friendly.
We also went to Hervey Bay. and Inskip Point, the beaches were fabulous!! We could see Frazer Island from where we settled to let the children have some beach time.
Haven't got the pictures available at the moment but when I do, I shall indeed post some up.

Also, We started our own online store. Selling New Age Products, which is something we have always had an interest in. We also kitted out the garage as a shop and had a sign outside the house, but very few people ventured inside. But the actual website did very well and still is.

So, the children have all moved up a year at school.
Which means, my babygirl also started school :(
Oh I did come home and cry.... I cried also at prep.
The following day, I saw another mum do the same thing, when I got outside I said 'Its heartbreaking isnt it?'
And that was the start of a new friendship with Kay. Who invited me on a dog walk with her and her friend.
The parents at the school seem pretty nice so far -
Adams had an upsetting start to the school year. He has been having panic attack type symptoms.
When to see the school principle and whilst I was explaining how Adam reacts about coming to school I started crying!!!... Felt so silly!!

The Landlord has put the rent up so we are looking into moving. Going to be expensive but its time for a change I think.

Fell out with my son Ashley, again. This time though, I am not pleased with him at all and I think we will be apart for quite some time.
I shall explain another time about this story.

I think, I have filled in all the gaps from the last blog. I hope i have anyway.
If not, I will add them in as I go along.

For now. I am done. I will post pictures and do things properly over the next few days.
I have a dinner date with a girl friend tomorrow, well its more brunch then dinner.

Hyacinths Paint job..

OK.. Heres an update of how our Hycinth is looking now..

Has you can see, she's coming along quite nicely. The yucky yellow has gone. Thank gawd.

And now for the inside work to begin...

Oh I just have to have a toilet!!

Decided to go with a side table rather than extra seats.. And we're pretty chuffed with the decision too :)

No, the speaker isn't staying there..

So exciting... Its all coming together, faster than we thought it would too.

Soon be off on our jollys at this rate!!

Hyacinths wash and paint

We gave Hyacinth a good scrubbing this weekend.
Saturday was spent mostly on scrubbing the outside. The yellow paint that was already on it, was coming away the more we scrubbed. In fact, even the white was coming away too!
I think that Hyacinth is going to be very happy indeed with a new make over..

We must have found about 8 lots of ants nests inside this caravan.
When we get rid of one lot, the following day, we find there is another lot.
We have actually bought an infestation of ants caravan!
Never buying another caravan or motorhome from Ebay again, unless we go to inspect it first!

I don't care what the previous owners say, this caravan hasn't been used in years!!

Anyway, here are the photos of Hyacinths having a well earned scrub and paint job.. a few years overdue me thinks.

The compressor is ready and waiting to be used..

Oh yes, hubby is doing a fabulous job on the roof. Look at the state it was in.

And the sides, get rid of that awful yellow colour.

Ripped out the back corner there as it was damp. Inside was another nest of ants too.

Inside the seats were about 4 lots of ant nests. and a lot of damp too.

The fridge has been removed, behind which we found... yes you've guessed it, more ants nests and inside the splash back and the pipes that go to the sink! The over hanging cupboards also housed more ants.

Although the ants have been somewhat of a put-off for me. I am still just as excited to get this project off the ground and have our own little home from home :)

We have been on about a caravan for quite some time.

This particular day, not today, but at the weekend just gone.
We were browsing Ebay.
Looking for Tents.
I've never really been one for Tents, the thought of laying so low to the ground near insects and cold just didn't and still doesn't, float my boat at all!!
We went from Tents to trailers.. Even though they were as ugly as sin (well, the ones we saw advertised were) I was prepared to settle with that than a tent!
Anyway, from the trailer it moved onto popup trailers.
I really thought those things were cute and convenient. And almost like a caravan! I was sold.

My sweetheart also agreed with me... just.

So, we were browsing these cute pop-ups and occasionally went to view caravans, well they all looked the same to me, I couldn't tell a pop up from a normal caravan I had seen that many the past few days.

One particular caravan I had noticed, my husband was viewing for quite some time.
I leaned over and said 'Do you like it?'
'Yes, its not bad actually and the price is pretty good too'

As much as I was thrilled he was liking the look of a caravan!!! I thought best not put him off it whilst hes looking and instead agree that its nice.
And before I knew it, we were putting an offer on it....
My husband said 'Do you think?...we should?'
'Yeh go on then' I said chuckling, getting ready to move to sort the children out for bedtime.
As he clicked the 'Make Offer' button, he saw it automatically said 'Your offer as been accepted'
We looked at eachother shocked for a moment..
'Oh' we said ''We've got ourselves a caravan then' lol

Since then I have done nothing but research decor... because believe me.. this caravan needs some serious TLC!!

I'm warming towards pastel colours, light and airy.

I am torn with the pink and blue and green...
I think I want pink in our bedroom, and either green or blue in the living area...

And I want pastel things too :)
If we can afford it of course ... I'm just a tad excited ...

And of course we've given our caravan a very suitable name...... Hyacinth :)

No post in November?

We are in December now and I can not believe I didn't post anything in November!!

Was a very sad month for me though. Still feeling very sad now.
My father passed away.
So suddenly yet not, if that makes sense.

He was a drinker for a number of years and many of us were surprised he lived as long as he did! (61)
I use to say to him 'You will die from drinking too much!' I use to pour his drinks down the sink when I would go and visit him. I would even water them down. But, I'm not there 24/7.

I was terribly shocked when I had the message.
Although you know, if he carries on drinking his time will end sooner than it should but, when it actually happened, it was of great shock to me.
Just felt unbalanced. Like one side of me dropped and I wasn't held upright any more?
I suppose you always think your parents are going to be there always.
Even when you don't see them regularly you know they are there! where ever 'there' is.
Then when you hear they have died. It just, rocks you, throws you even.

This is how I remember dad.

I miss him so much...

Drive around.

It is a lovely day today, temperatures reaching a nice 27c
After eating our carrot cake with a nice brew on the balcony we decided to go for a drive to a haunted house we saw a while ago.
The older boys stayed at home, they just have no enthusiasm sometimes those boys.

Anyway, we jumped in the van and headed off with the camera - just in case ;)

Got all the way there (15 mins away) and the gates were shut!
A sign read " Open every 1st and 2nd Sunday of each month" damn!

So we took a slow drive back and spotted some kangaroos in the woods a few yards down the road!

Can you spot them? bit difficult to see on these pictures and we didn't bring along our spare lens that can zoom right close.
We didn't expect to come across any Kangaroos to be honest. So it was a pleasant surprise when we did.

After getting back in the van from Kangaroo spotting we headed towards a lovely Memorial Gardens place.
Had a water fountain, A lake, and lovely plaques placed beside the trees.
I've never seen anything so beautiful, yet sad at the same time.

Lovely, peaceful place. Very tranquil.

I could have spent all day here.

Husbands Birthday

My husbands birthday was yesterday.
The plans I had just didn't materialize due to my damn headaches that I get.
Why does it have to be on a day of celebration or a day where we've made plans. So annoying :(

Anyway. My poor husband had to work on his birthday. I think everyone should be allowed the day off on their birthdays. - If only!

We got a few nice gifts for him, its pretty hard buying for someone whos so difficult. Or who has everything he needs already. So I had to improvise.
Here's what I came up with..

There is also a big mix-master, but I'm unsure where my husband has put this.
He also has a Tshirt. Of his favourite idol. Bruce Lee.

And he had a cake!! ok I admit, I didn't bake it and it was rather small compared to the cakes that we normally have, but its a cake at least :)

My poor husband. I will one day actually bake him a cake.
I have tried in the past and failed miserably. I wont even go into have I melted the chocolate.

But I didn't realise that you could actually burn something by using the microwave!!!?

Happy birthday my sweet loving husband. You mean more to me than anything, You are my world, my rock, my everything and I love you dearly.

Haircut for Sage

Its coming to that time of year again when the weather is heating up and the dog is over heating fullstop!
So, I gave our little boy a nice little trim.

I would have took him to a proper dog groomers but I've been hearing some horror stories about them and so decided to do it myself.

Well, he may not have been amused but we found him hiliarious!!

Van Halen :)

We, or should I say Anthony has his Van now.
The lovely people that we had the van from, left a lovely neat stack of goodies for us.
Can't thank them enough.

They names the van Halen... I so didn't click at first and thought it a rather odd name for a van?
I explained that we would probably rename the van 'Stimpy' as my car is called 'Ren'.

Then of course the following day, the penny dropped. And I suddenly realised why they called the van Halen.
Its staring right at me ... Van Halen! I'm so incredibly slow sometimes ha ha ha ..

Anyway, The name will stay 'Halen' he is.
And heres some pictures of him. My husband has big plans for him... wish him luck.

Not the prettiest of vehicles we've owned but there is room for improvements.

Will update with improved pictures as soon as the tranformation is in progress.

Thunder

What a way to wake up! To the sound of thunder and lightening.. Ahh I loved it.
Funny how any other noise can put you in such a mood for the rest of the day when you've been woken early.
Yet for some reason Thunder is acceptable.

By the time I found the camera and put the battery inside, the thunder and lightening had died down a little, which is a shame.
We turned the lights off in the living area and the lightening just lit the room up.
The noise of the thunder had me jump from my seat a fair few times too!

Nothing better than a good storm to clear the air and make everything much fresher.
Great start to the day.

Brief new friends..

Funny how you cross paths with certain people in your life isn't it?
We have been here in Australia for 18months now and not really 'clicked' with anyone.
We buy a Van from Gumtree and seem to have met the perfect 'friend material' couple.

But, today they leave Brisbane! and were selling their van as they are off to Cairns for a month then off to New Zealand until Christmas! Then back to England. BUMMER!

In the two days we saw them, they seemed friendly and nice with a lovely sense of humour.

They left us with more than just a van, they left all their camping equipment too!
As a Thank you I offered them a crystal doll each. and they were most grateful.

I excused the table in the craft room and explained my husband reads runes, and they too shared the same common interest in Runes and Tarot cards etc. along with the same interest in good old British banter and many British programs. But the best common interest we had as got to be the New Age things.

They were Nicole and Dave - Nicole said 'If only we had met sooner!'

Anyway, we've promised to keep in touch and hopefully they can holiday over here again in the future.
And if we ever did return to the UK for a swift visit, They are definitely on the list!

Angers France 2008

Reminiscing about our holiday in France this morning.

I tried to look for the pictures we put online at the time, but can't find them anywhere so I'm going to post some pictures of our trip to Angers from the hard drive. - Wish me luck.

We had to spend our first night in our tent, because we decided to arrive a day early :)

Went off to see the Castles of Angers.

Beautiful buildings.

Our shack for the next 10 days.

Bitter sweet memories of France when I see the pool.

Plenty for the kids to see and do.

Great man-made beaches. Or fishy beach as Adam would call it after spotting so many little fishes.

We thought it was rather amusing when we first arrived.

The days update

Just a normal diary blog today.

Not quite sure what time we first got up but the clock was flashing 3.40am, during the night we must have had a power cut.
Seems a regular thing out here in Queensland, not sure if its all over Australia or just this suburb but I'm pretty sure this time last year there were quite a few power cuts!

Anyway, Anthonys phone alarm went off usual time. So no 'over sleeping' for us.

Got the children off to school, went to work came home prepared dinner.

Thought I would be clever and do lots of vegetables and soaked them in Olive Oil.
Only when I went to flip them over, the tray tipped and the oil soaked the blooming floor! Me and the dog were sliding around for the rest of the day!
At least I didn't lose any veg.

Dinner, once cooked, was edible...just.
Then quickly washed down with some more cake!

There is plenty of it left over.

The day started off quite warm. then by the afternoon it was rather overcast, still reached 25c but not with the blue skies..

As you can see, or not as the case may be. No blue skies :(

Nice hanging baskets though, don't you think?? ;)

Anyway, Holley, Adam and Olivia went off to swimming. Holley and Adam will now move up when they go back, so, Holley will be in group 4, Adam in group 3 and Olivia stays in group 2 and I think that's because she won't jump in with her goggles off!, well she does, but with a lot of encouragement.

Off to watch me Eastenders now with my husband, although he claims he doesn't like it but I always catch him watching it!! :)

My Olivias 5th birthday

It is our sweet babys birthday today.
And we managed to decorate her cake, or should I say, I managed to decorate it without it falling apart!
And it was a success, she loved it! screamed with excitement when she saw it being carried into the front room by her daddy. Bless her.

She has had the most fabulous day. Its all about toys and sweets when you're that age isn't it?
She opened the cards first but it was a case of quickly open them and toss them to one side.
Then a mad frenzy to open up the gifts, as quickly as possible.

Here she is making a wish! after saying it out loud first ha ha..

And the wish was?... I wish I had lots of sweets!!

Back to normality ... or is it?

I don't know if it is worse when they're at school or when they're off.
When they are at school there is a mad rush around in the mornings and equally so after school!
And in the holidays its just constant bickering.

Its been a bit of a miserable day today, warm about 24c but rained off and on.
At about 4pm it began to thunder, oh that is exciting.
My poor darling came home soaked!!

These pictures don't really show just how soaked through he was, but he was dripping wet! ha ha

Anyway. Its my babys birthday tomorrow and she will be 5! wow where does the years go?
Doesnt seem that long ago that I was in labour for 3 days with her.
And now shes turning 5 .. what a milestone.

Just finished off wrapping her little gifts and written in her cards.
Her daddy is in the kicthen baking her a cake and mummy will be decorating it tomorrow after work.
Oooh I'm so excited, I think more than she is!

I will be able to put her 5th picture up tomorrow :)

Smooth sunday :)

Its been a very eventful Sunday today.
Got up at 6.30 thanks to Holley and Sage...again!
Read through a few emails.
Husband nipped off to the bakery whilst I made coffee.
And it was such a lovely morning, we decided to have our breakfast drink outside on the balcony.
Quickly followed by Olivia and Kenny the Kookaburra.

What a great way to start the day :)

Oh did I not mention our breakfast this morning was a couple of cakes? My sweetheart is such a cake monster. I'm not one of the biggest fans of cakes but I don't mind a nibble now and again ;)

Mmmmm and heres mine.. Aren't I spoilt? Didn't manage to eat it all though, was a wee bit too rich for my liking, but very tasty.

Will try and upload the video...Hope it works.

How cute it that? This is a regular visitor to our balcony. We've named him Kenny.

Anyway, After our delightful breakfast. Anthony decided to finish off correcting the car so it could pass its roadworthy. Not long after he started when a van turned up, one that Anthony had enquired about yesterday.

Looked a bit of a state. But then it had drove up from Melbourne.

We had a look around and a test drive and Anthony was quite pleased with it. Also came with some extras, camping gear, tent, GPS, had new tyres put on, clutch, gearbox etc.

And to top it off, it was a lovely English couple who were selling it. Well, we obviously had to have it then didnt we?

Will upload a pic when we have it delivered to us sometime in the week. After its been for a roadworthy.

And I've strongly suggested that we should have the windows tinted, and a roof rack and some bars put on it.

Which my darling as agreed too :)

Funny how things you have mean something to you, some times its the oddest of objects.

I was cleaning around my bedroom today and saw a couple of items that I often pass or dust or ignore and today, I took notice of certain things. And it got me thinking. How I come to have them and why I keep them.

I read a Buddha quote that said 'You only lose what you cling to' and it so made sense. Its true.

This box of worry Angels I have, I am pretty sure I bought them, but then I'm pretty sure my husband may have bought me them? We both can't quite remember, you see, I was going to buy them, and I remember my husband (well he was my boyfriend then) also wanted to buy me some around the same time but I told him it was too expensive. So I'm not sure if it was another set of worry angels I had my eye on or if it was these ones.

But anyway, these worry angels not only remind me of the early days with my sweetheart but it also reminds me of my close friend Sharon.

We had brought quite a lot of these sorts of things, Worry Angels, Angel cards, Crystals etc, we shared a common interest and often read eachothers cards to one another. I miss the close friendship we had. Didn't really realise it when we were friends but you kind of know when you no longer have the person around just how much you were close.

This Lamp, it reminds me of a Tiffany Lamp, but without the colourful glass shade you often get on Tiffany Lamps. When I saw this I had to get it, because it reminded me of my favourite Aunty, Joan.

We both use to shop at Tradex on a regular basis, it was a half way point for us both. Sometimes we would just meet up there in the carpark and sit in our cars or nip over to the cafe for a tea and biscuits. Tradex was a big shop that selled alsorts from clothes to shoes and ornaments to jewellery. I loved it, I was always in there!

Anyway, one particular time we were there, we were shopping for bits for her caravan that she was going to move into. Nothing permanant.
And we saw these lovely Tiffany Lamps, well we had to buy a couple. And now, whenever I see a Toffany lamp or one that looks like one. I think back of the days at Tradex and the new caravan.

How time flies...

This was a gift from Pops. The man my Aunty Joan married. He was lovely. I miss him. He had a heart attack in 2006 when Olivia was 6 months old.

I called him 'Pops' didnt feel right having him has an Uncle he was more like a father to me. He was especially loving towards my son Ashley who had no father or grandfather figure in his life. I said to him one day, 'I'm going to call you Pops' and he thought it was a wonderful Idea!
He treated me like I was his daughter and often said that to me.
He was a big part of our lives in the short time he was with us.
And he bought me this ring. It has 'Pops' engraved on it. I thought it was lovely but wasnt overly excited about it at the time. I didnt 'get' it? - I of course look at it now and think 'Oh yes!' I will treasure this. I wear it often now.
