Lost Stars

2015-05-31T18:54:00.002-07:00

"Please don't seeJust a boy caught up in dreams and fantasiesPlease see meReaching out for someone I can't see

Take my hand, let's see where we wake up tomorrowBest laid plans sometimes are just a one night standI'll be damned, Cupid's demanding back his arrowSo let's get drunk on our tears

And God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the youngIt's hunting season and the lambs are on the runSearching for meaningBut are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?

Who are we?Just a speck of dust within the galaxy?Woe is meIf we're not careful turns into reality

But don't you dare let our best memories bring you sorrowYesterday I saw a lion kiss a deerTurn the page, maybe we'll find a brand new endingWhere we're dancing in our tears

And God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the youngIt's hunting season and the lambs are on the runWe're searching for meaningBut are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?

and I thought I saw you out there cryingand I thought I heard you call my nameand I thought I heard you out there cryingBut just the same

And God, give us the reason youth is wasted on the youngIt's hunting season and this lamb is on the runsearching for meaningBut are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?

And I thought I saw you out there cryingAnd I thought I heard you call my nameAnd I thought I heard you out there cryingBut are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark? Are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?"

Impressive Maps

2015-05-01T14:33:00.000-07:00

What if we changed the countries so the largest ones had the biggest population?

Brazil would stay in the same place, as well as the US :D

The countries of the European Union are not enough to fill up all Brazil!

See which country stays in front of America!

See the circle? There are more people living inside it than in the rest of the world!

This map shows the greatest distance you can travel between two points without crossing any ocean!

Interesting, right?

Quotes

"Patience is a conquering virtue."

by Geoffrey Chaucer

Patience, without doubt, needs to be one of the best qualities of a scientist/researcher.

Here you can compare some characteristics between different countries. Here is an example:

Birth/Personality

What Your Date Of Birth Says About Your Personality

According to astrology, the relative position of the Earth, moon, sun, and stars at the time of birth greatly influences a person's personality. Scientists have refuted this for years, though a small study from Semmelweis University in Budapest has found that personality may be influenced by the season in which a person is born. The results were presented by lead researcher Xenia Gonda at the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Congress in Berlin on October 19.

"We can't yet say anything about the mechanisms involved,” Gonda said in a press release. “What we are now looking at is to see if there are genetic markers which are related to season of birth and mood disorder.”

"Biochemical studies have shown that the season in which you are born has an influence on certain monoamine neurotransmitters, such as dopamine and serotonin, which is detectable even in adult life,” Gonda continued. “This led us to believe that birth season may have a longer-lasting effect. Our work looked at over 400 subjects and matched their birth season to personality types in later life. Basically, it seems that when you are born may increase or decrease your chance of developing certain mood disorders.”

- Those born in spring were found to be more likely to have a hyperthymic temperament. That is, they have a tendency to be incredibly positive.

- Babies born in summer were also found to be hyperthymic, but with strong cyclothymic temperament. Though summer babies are more likely to experience those high positive feelings, they were also significantly more likely to report experiencing frequent mood swings. This is particularly true when compared to babies born in winter.

- Those with autumn birthdays had drastically reduced tendency toward depressed moods compared to people born in winter.

- People with winter birthdays were found to be less likely to be irritable, compared to all other seasons.

The study needs further work but seems interesting. What do you think? Does the description of the "seasons" match your personality?
