Xbox Live Indie Game Reviews

2011-04-05T18:00:00.000-07:00

I played some of the newest indie games on the Xbox Live market place and this is what I thought about em.

Cow Catch - Garbage. Don't even waste your time looking at it.

Monsters Swimming - The sounds in the game can get pretty annoying and the controls are kinda crappy. I wouldn't recommend it but if for some reason it looks appealing to you then go ahead I guess.

Origin X - It's some kind of space exploration RTS game. It's rather slow and boring for an RTS and I didn't see any point to the game. I was able to build turrets but I was never attacked or anything. I wouldn't recommend playing it unless you're really into RTS games.

Shield the Beat - I found his game a bit interesting. You are a ship in space without weapons, but you are under attack, and you have to block the attacks with a shield. A song is playing and the attacks from the other ships are in sync with the music. The game is 400 Microsoft points though, so I don't think it's worth the cost, but I'd say at least check it out.

Shifters - This racing game has surprisingly good graphics for an indie game. You don't have control of steering though. The camera is stuck to the side of the car, and you just control the throttle, the clutch, and shifting. It's worth checking out, but I don't now about buying.

Swamp Defense - It's just another boring tower defense game. I'd say don't waste your time but if you really want to play a tower defense game go play a good one like Bloons or Gemcraft.

Retrocade: DataStream Y2K600 - This game makes absolutely no sense. Don't waste your time.

Thanks for checking out my blog. I think I might keep doing reviews of indie games, let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Morrowind Overhaul

2011-04-04T16:20:00.000-07:00

Someone put together a pretty nice mod for TES: Morrowind that makes the game look amazing. If you play Morrowind, I would recommend checking it out.

Drunk Tank podcasts

2011-04-03T23:15:00.000-07:00

Never fail to be entertaining. If you don't recognize the name Drunk Tank then you might now em as Roosterteeth, or the guys who made Red vs Blue. They recently did a video podcast (as opposed to their normal audio podcasts) Even if you don't watch, it's something nice to just listen to while you're doing other things on your computer.

Video game releases this year

2011-04-03T23:08:00.000-07:00

Are going to be amazing. I'm excited for Battlefield 3, Saints Row 3, and most of all, TES: Skyrim.

They released a pretty funny teaser for Saints Row 3 a couple days ago.

Fans of Fallout I think you'll like this.

It's two short films someone made that I thought were pretty good. The only complaint I had on em was that the ghoul in the second one didn't look at all like a ghoul.

Plans for Halloween?
My weekend got shat on. Had plans and people dipped out.
Mo' fuggas.

Nail Biting.

2010-10-18T18:45:00.000-07:00

It's a bad habit.

And I do it frequently. It's kind of a sub-conscious thing though. I need to stop however.
There is a specific tooth I usually use to bite my nails, the one that is two over to the right of my lower front teeth. Today that tooth and part of my gum right below it was sore. I looked in the mirror at my tooth and realized that I bite my nails so much that I bent my tooth slightly forward and my gum was somewhat swollen.

Haven't bit my nails yet since I noticed that. I don't think this will last for long though. Does anybody know of any good ways to help you stop biting your nails?

Also getting close to 100 followers. Thanks guys!

The BS of Halo Reach

2010-10-13T16:36:00.000-07:00

So there is some new glitch you can do if you are host in a game that lets you kill people instantly. It involves somehow meleeing and shooting at the same time so you take out their shields and shoot them in the head for the kill. I also stopped playing swat because a lot of people use aim bots. Wtf is this shit. I never remember any modding problems in Halo 3. I friggen loved swat. A-holes ruined it.

Here's a video by Bryan Simon explaining the instant kill glitch I first talked about.

This is great.

Minecraft mods

2010-10-11T12:05:00.000-07:00

I was just looking at some texture mods for minecraft. This one looks pretty good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh1-Ek4lpEA&feature=related

Anybody know of any other good mods for minecraft?

Sorry I keep disappearing guys

2010-10-10T11:02:00.000-07:00

First, Reach kept me away.

And now,

Anyone else addicted?

And if you don't know what Minecraft is, GO PLAY IT.

I wouldn't recommend watching anything about it though. I did that before I started playing it and I thought it looked pretty dumb. My friend made me play it though and now I love it.

Halo Reach is doing very good

2010-09-23T15:09:00.000-07:00

Within the the first few hours of Reach's release, it had more players than Halo 3 did in it's first week. That's pretty damn good.

Some other stats from b.net

70 Million+ Games have been played
235 Million+ Player-games have been made
2 Million+ Files have been uploaded to File Shares
5,901 man-years have been spent in online Reach games
20 Million Daily challenges have been completed
709,840 Weekly challenges have been completed
165 Billion Credits have been earned.

I think that's pretty cool.
