thank god it has been confirmed that the droid 2 gingerbread ota update is ready were just waiting now. i am willing to give the new blur a try and will be reporting all my finds later. i am running cyanogen mod but that can wait remember that is only a nightly.

I see HP going nowhere with web OS even though they announced that it was dead i still think its a good buy because the android community is going to take control. i thing this will be supported by many roms in the future. there has been proof android has came preinstalled on some of the touchpaads now if only we can figure out now. if you know how there is a 1500$ bounty. please comment below. sorry for the ait ive been really busy in my life and now am less stressed and ready to blog.

Buy or Wait?

i say wait and what do you think i am talking about? android of coarse. gingerbread is getting old even though not a lot of phones are even using that i say just wait. ice cream sandwich is supposed to be the savior of the android platform. android has always been fragmented but this update should stop it. this update should also bring your home closer to you with smart technologies like light bulbs that are wifi and should also bring new nfc technologies. so wait dont buy.

This week in the Linux world not a lot of newz but ill share. at omg Ubuntu they take a look at Samsung's first chrome-book next their is an elementary music app that has been updated and i am loving that album art view. next let me talk about distro releases and updates. cent os, pardus, sabayon, free nas, linvo, pclinuxos, and kongoni.that was about it this week check next week i am hoping that it wont be as slow of a week.

Online Music Stores?

which one do you use? iTunes, amazon, or streaming services like rhapsody. iTunes changed their pricing a few years ago to have a 3 tier system songs that would cost 69 cents, 99 cents, and 1.29$. the problem is most of the songs are 1.29$. next amazon is selling their songs for the same price pretty much. the better thing though is that you get the cloud player that allows you to stream music to different devices. now the cheapest of them all is rhapsody which is a monthly subscription. but if your the person that dose not buy a lot of music this might be the wrong move for you. see those are the major stores. Google has leaked some stuff that they might have a music market so keep looking for that. so tell me your comments below. thanks for reading

Cloud Music

who will be the winner of the age of the cloud? do you even know what cloud is? let me give you the low down. there is not really a cloud in the sky that has all your files. there are storage facilities around the world that store your files and they allow you to access the files through the internet. anyways going to the music topic. right now it seams like everyone is trying to push some sort of music storage locker. each company has different wars of approaching this. Google is storing all your music on the cloud and allowing you to listen it on 7 devices. out of all of them this one is my favorite because of the massive 20000 song limit.

Next is amazon they are streaming songs that you purchase from amazon and you can purchase a data package to upload your songs. in my opinion i do not think people want to purchase songs by album or single still.

Apple is doing no streaming and not allowing songs to be acsesed through the web. they are taking your music and distributing it to the devices through a internet connection. you still need physical memory for this so this approach is different but may be more reliable.

Last is groove shark they are doing something amazing they are letting you stream all the music you can and your own and even download playlists for your iPod for a 10$ monthly charge. its your decision though pick a service that fits you best

App Review: Diversion

I have recently downloaded the game diversion for my galaxy tab 10.1 and am very pleased with it. The game is free in the android app market. The objective of the game is to jump gaps and collect coins and stars. You get the opritunity to change cloths and pick different characters with the game. With the price tag of free you should download the app now. So get it for your android tablet or phone.

for those of you who do not know what Google adsense it is a way to monotize your blog in other words make money for blogging. the point is to put Google's ads on your blog and every time someone clicks it you get paid. Google pays you in checks of at least 100$. so why am i talking about this? Google adsense is for blogs with a lot of traffic i know my traffic is growing to 500 a day but that wont cut it you need to be getting thousands of people that are people that come back to go on your blog. that is how you successfully make money on Google adsense but what if you want to make money know? there are other ways that i will talk about later in a different blog post.

Cyanogenmod Update Droid 2

the cyanogen mod for droid 2 has landed last week. the team has been moving fast and been releasing nightlies every day. i do not want to spend money on ROM manager pro so i have a solution for you guys. get the free version of ROM manager. put the cyanogen mod nightly on your SD card. if you do not know where to get it click here. then go to ROM manager and touch flash clockworkmod recovery. then go to install ROM from SD card. you dont have to check any settings keep it default. when you click install you wont loose anything and you will gain an updated version of cyanogen mod viola. that is it but keep in mind this is only for people who have cyanogenmod but if you do not click here for a tutorial.

there has been an update. the 3.2 version of Google's tablet operating system will have app zooming function. for those of you who do not know what that is it is zooming into apps that are not made for the tablet operating system. for example say you want the new scrabble game that is free (not for honeycomb :( ) it will let you get it and zoom into the app so it is usable on a tablet. i do not know when 3.2 is coming out but ill keep you guys updated.

This week not too much happened. first the scroll bars in Ubuntu get better looking. next Ubuntu is now on alpha 2 so if you love Ubuntu check that out. there is a wallpaper contest and if you want to get involved head over to omg Ubuntu. next on distro watch there were many distro releases bet here are some: Sabayon, Zorin, Deplin, Ubuntu, and Vinux. and last jordan from this week in Linux talks about how Linux mint 11 RC has been released, Mandriva RC, and Mozilla launched a new version of Thunderbird.

iPad 3 ?

apple is gearing up for a release of a new iPad 3 or iPad hd said mac rumors. this iPad should have nothing new besides a new high resolution retina display on an iPad. i think apple is afraid of android. they have high res screens already and apple is now playing catch up. usually its the other way around the other companies releasing tablets that are up to speed with iPad 1 and now they are thinking beyond apple and making apple do some catching up to do.

Locked bootloaders ?

the question is do you want a locked bootloader?why do you care? well i want to shed some light on this topic. we all know Motorola is known for this and just announced today that droid 3 will indeed have a locked bootloader. so why do the consumers care. i care but why do i? here is the thing i want a stock experience on my android phone not no sense, blur, or any other overlay. i wish every phone had a locked bootloader made by Google so every phone had a stock experience. now ice cream sandwich is coming out next and i would not care about locked bootloaders if every phone was ice cream sandwich. so what do you think but in the mean time i do not like locked bootladers that make you stay locked into blur or any other overlay. give me your opinions.

Google Maps Transit

Ever go to a place where there are buses, trains, etc. and cant really get around till like the last day your their? well Google released Google transit for Google maps. Google partnered up with 4 transit departments to bring you this service. this service tells where you have to go when the buses/trains will arrive and if there are any delays. this service is good for people that are visiting the city for a little while. try this out and if you want to see a video click here

Netflix On Android?

why haven't these 2 things gotten along. it cant be because of all the phones. Netflix is on windows phone 7 and its on all their different phones. it also can be installed on rooted android devices. the way Netflix is rolling on android is by processors. Netflix just declared the omap4 processor to be hd ready. you guys leave your opinions below i want to hear what you think of all this.

What Do You Think of Android Overlays

there are a lot of overlays. for example htc has sense, Samsung has touch wiz, and Motorola has moto blur. the truth is they look nice but people want the stock android feeling. Samsung is getting ready to throw their new touch wiz ux on the galaxy tab 10.1. i want to know if this is making you decide differently. i bought the galaxy tab its a beautiful device that is why i bought it and i am probably going to ignore the new ux update. so what about you guys are you going to wait for ice cream sandwich or go with the tab like i did. i say go for it but you decide.

Over the past 5 years mobile computing has grown rapidly. from not doing serious browsing on the internet on a mobile device to being connected to the web via phone/tablet 24/7. i looked into the audiance of my blog and found out some weird stats. 57% of people that read my blog are on a mobile device. that is more than half of my readers. next ups is windows (ugh) with 29% then Linux with 8% and last surprisingly Macintosh with 4%. i just wanted to get the word out that mobile computing is growing.

SSD Memory

what is ssd memory? it means that it is solid state. what are the benefits of ssd? if you are using a ssd you might experience faster speeds in booting the operating system, opening apps, closing apps. then why does not everyone have a ssd? ssd are very expensive for a little amount of memory. a 256 GB ssd can cost 1000 dollars when you can get a 300 GB sata drive for 300 dollars. so there are good and bad things with this. as we go into the future more and more people are storing files in the cloud so we can see an increase of ssd in the future. macotakara a company that makes ssd are making a ssd that can extend a laptops battery for over an hour. so in my opinion ssd is a good thing. what is your opinion? leave a comment.
