MOTOROKR EM30 from Motorola is a perfect blend of a mobile phone and a music player. SONY's BRAVIA ZX1

Electronics gaint SONY claims to have launched the world’s thinnest television, which has a screen as slim as CD case. The ultra-thin TV called the BRAVIA ZX1, while hits the market in coming January.

The BRAVIA ZX1 has a 102 cms screen measuring only 9.9 mm at its slimmest section and weighs a mere 12.2Kg. There are no signal cables to spoil the design. Instead, the TV comes with a separate receiver device called the Media Receiver, a box that you plug all your cables into and which transmits the signal wirelessly to the TV in 'real time'.

Where conventional screens have CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlighting, the Bravia ZX1 is illuminated from the sides by LED arrays. The Bravia ZX1 will be the first TV to be lit via Bravia Edge LED arrays.

BSNL to launch iphone 3G

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will launch the much sought-after Apple iPhone 3G for its subscribers across the country by December along with the launch of the 3^rd generation network. BSNL has already launched 3G trail services in Pune.

In another development, 6 international telecom majors (Nokia Siemens, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, ZTE and Nortel Networks) have submitted bids to provide 93 million GSM lines to BSNL. With an estimated worth of about $8.3 billion, the complete project will spread over a 3 years period split in to three parts of 25 million lines each from the North, South, and West Zone and 18 million lines for the East Zone.

Apple’s iPhone 3G

The new iPhone, looks very similar to the old one but has a glossy black or white plastic in place of a metal back cover.

The Apple’s iPhone 3G is not a very thick device but feels large to hold with 3.5 inch screen, 480x320 pixels with 8/16 GB storage capacity, inbuilt Wi-Fi and A-GPS, 2 MP camera and 133gms weight.

The best part is that new iPhone runs on third-generation (3G) wireless networks and loads Internet pages nearly 3 times faster than its previous avatar. The iPhone has much improved email features too.

Quality of buttons and switches on the device are top-class. The buttons on the sides, top and headphones jack are chromed, and the black bezel and chrome trim add further visual appeal. Apple’s menu system is excellent with the single main menu buttons being perfectly functional. The iPhone menus work well, but the on-screen keypad is alittle small and you will make afew incorrect key taps for a month or so, which would not please SMS junkies. The phone number pad is huge though and you’d be clod to goof up dialling numbers.

There is still no way select or delete multiple messages. You also can’t save a typed out SMS as a draft, and the inbuilt email option allows you to save multiple email IDs and password informations for quick use. Its Safari web browser is very basic it don’t support for Java or Flash. Copy/Pasting is also not supported. The touch interface works with fingers only not a stylus or finger nails. The iPhone’s Bluetooth works with headsets only, no keyboard and no file transfers. The bundled GPS and Google Maps works well in tandem better than Nokia Maps. Apple’s in built scheduler and calendar works well as good as any PDA. A lot of games come preinstalled, but there’s no serious office application with document and spreadsheet support. Voice quality is is pretty good but the volume is little low. The loudspeaker quality is very bad and a lot of distortion occurs when a voice call is put in loudspeaker. Voice quality on this set is absolutely top and the volume level is fantastic and the MP3 quality is very good. The battery talk time is 10 hours, we measured this to be more like 5 hours.

The new Iphone also includes satellite navigation capability and comes with a inbuilt 8GB memory,

Vodafone Essar, India's third-largest mobile operator, was selling the iPhone 3G at 31,000 rupees for the 8GB model, and 36,100 rupees for the 16GB model.

Samsung has launched the X360 notebook, which it claims to be lighter than even Apple’s much-hyped Macbook Air – 1.27 kgs as compared to the Mackbook Air’s 1.36kgs.According to the company, it also contains more features and ports than the MacBook Air

Samsung 360 weighs just 1.27 kg and sports a 13.3 inches LCD screen. It is powered by Intel Centrino-2 ultra low voltage processor, and X4500 graphics card. With a solidstate drive (SSD) and to ensure long usage, Samsung 360 has a six cell battery, it offers a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on use. It features are a 7-in-1 memory card reader, PCI (peripheral component interconnect) 34mm express slot card, 3 USB ports, highdefinition multimedia interface, video graphics array, RJ45 (Ethernet) and a docking slot. The notebook also allows quality video messaging and live conferencing using a 1.3 mega pixel camera.

It offers you the choice of having either an SSD (64GB or 128GB) card or a traditional 120GB drive.Other features include a fingerprint reader, a web camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

X360 will be available in England, France, Italy, Spain and Germany by September end, but the company has not unveiled the price details.

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched the HP EliteBook 6930p business laptop

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has broken the battery backup barrier by introducing a laptop that can run 24 hours continuously on a single battery charge. While most of the laptops offer 2-3 hours of backup, the new HP EliteBook 6930p configured with an optical ultra-capacity battery delivers up to 24 hours of battery runtime.

The new HP Elite Book 6930p configuration starts at only 2.1 kgs with 36cm diagnol widescreen display. EliteBook has a magnesium chassis featuring a honeycomb pattern that's thermally bonded to a scratch-resistant anodised aluminium shell, giving a combination of strength and lightness.

The EliteBook 6930p is based on Intel’s Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform with vPro management technology, and features the next generation 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo 9000 and 8000 series mobile processors. The system comes with Intel’s integrated graphics or AMD’s ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 dedicated GPU, up to 8GB of DDR2 memory, and up to 250GB of hard drive capacity. In addition, users can replace EliteBook’s optical with an optional secondary hard drive.

HP says the EliteBook provides an “all-day battery life”. But the 24-hour figure can be reached only by purchasing the ultra-capacity battery and upgrading the base model of the 6930p to include the Illumi-Lite display and 80 gigabyte version of the SSD. The highly efficient Illumi-Lite LED display boosts battery run time by up to 4 hours compared to traditional LCD’s, while the Intel SSD provides up to 7% increase in battery life compared to traditional hard drives

HP EliteBook Series has a starting price of $1,199.00 at Hewlett-Packard’s website.

According to HP, the company will also release EliteBook models based on the latest technology by AMD, with Turion 64 X2 Ultra dual-core mobile processors.

Samsung has just launched the Samsung Innov 8 or i8510

Samsung launched its first ever 8 mega pixel camera mobile with precious memory style and blink shot which is used to capture the image quickly.

The design looks somewhat like Nokia’s N95 with a similar slider design. The slider is wobbly at times. There are two dedicated buttons on this panel that makes multitasking to the next and the previous running application really simple.

The Innov 8 phone runs on symbian S60 3^rd Edition OS version 9.3, it has external memory slot upto 16 GB inbuilt memory, if that isn’t sufficient space for you then a Micro SD slot is also available to expand this. With an optical mouse, WI-FI connectivity and it has external dual speakers. It also supports Real Player,Divx,Wmv amd MPEG 4 video formats. Movies run smoothly without any signs of framing whatsoever. The audio quality of the speaker on the phone is good and there is hardly any distortion with the volume set to maximum.

One of the largest selling points of this phone has to be the 8 MP resolution camera. The 8.0-megapixel camera also has an image stabiliser LED flash autofocus and face smile and blink detection. Combined with the built-in Wi-Fi and a GPS receiver you can geo-tag all your photos allowing information about where you are to be added to your pictures. The inbuilt flash works alright. Image quality from the camera is not very good. The images seem artificially enhanced to look very attractive.

The phone also comes with softwareRoute 66 and some other GPS tracking utilities. Google Maps is also one of the custom software installed on the phone. There are also some other software and games such as the mobile version of FIFA 2008 and a bike racer called Asphalt 4. It also has 16 GB flash memory which is very useful for gaming purposes. It has been chosen has the official phone for the World Cyber Games for 2008. The performance may be decent but the phone gets warm when you run a few videos or play some games on it. The other problem is that playing games on the keyboard is a little difficult.

There is no doubt, that the iPhone will grab a lot more attention tha the Innov 8 and that is available for around 31000. If you want a phone with aproper keypad, loads of features and the ability to install one of the many Symbian applications available online, then Innov 8 although expensive will fit your spot.

This phone will be more useful for the tech users because downloading the required softwares and use it for coding purposes and with the net connectivity it can also be useful for certain software projects in companies and it will be a work phone for the employee who is working in a computer related companies. Motorola has launched MOTOZINE or ZN5

Motorola has launched MOTOZINE or ZN5 a new cameraenabled handset for youth and social networking user groups. The 5-mega pixel, complete with auto-focus, low-light optimization, and a bright Xenon flash. Auto-focus locks in less than one second and there are no delays when taking one photo to the next. With one touch, users can view all their photos right from the home screen, no menus, no searching.

It is the first mobile that is based on Motorola’s ModeShift technology and KODAK imaging technology.

On September 9, 2008, the iPod nano model was officially announced by Apple Inc. The model has been updated three times since its introduction. Shortly after release, the iPod Nano became the highest-selling MP3 player in history. Creative VADO

This sleek and stylish metallic silver body hides a portable video recorder. It allows you to capture videos easily and quickly. The video is compressed fairly aggressively down to 4Mbits/sec in HQ mode, and 2Mbits/sec in SP mode. Audio is also only recorded at 14kHz with 4-bit sampling and a 56Kbits/sec data rate.

The Creative VADO can record videos at a resolution of 640x480. It features 2 GB of memory, and this is non expandable. At its resolution, though this translates to about 2 hours of video recording. Just like any other camcorder, the VADO also gives two options to record video, both at the same VGA resolution. When using High Quality mode, you can capture about 1 hour of video. In standard play mode you can get about 2 hours of video. Battery life is good, so you will run out of memory way before you run out of charge.

The VADO allows recorded content to be transferred via USB, and you don’t need to lug around cables, because it has a retractable connector. Using a bundled utility, Uploading videos to youtube is as easy as pushing a button. The vast majority of YouTube users simply shoot something and put it straight up on the Web.
