Thanks to all the wonderful people I've met over the past 5 years, I've enjoyed food blogging, and even blogging in general. I'm also blessed to have eaten mostly really good food. I can't deny though there are still days when I don't feel like writing anything, but I can tell I'll still keep Sunday's Avenue up and running for as long as I could. So, to all my friends, active commenters, silent readers, and even to those who just accidentally stumbled upon my blog, thank you. Thank you for keeping me motivated to go on with this journey as Sunday's Avenue. I'll definitely make this blog even better!

Other people said they were underwhelmed, it was very meh & that it was just another overpriced pastry. But I had to try it for myself to find out.

A delicate puff pastry of a croissant shaped into a round doughnut, which is then deep-fried, filled with cream, and coated with a light glaze.

Luckily we walk-in by 3:30pm, but the catch is, all walk-in customers have an assorted flavors which means that you will not allowed to choose flavors.

Once I got my grubby little hands on them, I excitedly opened the box. I take a bite of each Croughnuts, holding one in each hand.

They are made fresh everyday and they come in eleven (11) flavors.

It was crunchy outside but soft and chewy in the inside.
The glaze on top and the cream inside really made this very delectable.
Not that buttery and sweet.
Flavors of each topping and the filling blend well.

Be reminded to consume it, its not refrigerated or toasted. It's also a great pairing for coffee.

Kronuts at Chatime Pioneer

It's time for Chatime! I must say, tea is definitely a great thirst quencher! They will start to sell their very own version of Kronuts every 12:30pm, so I'm very certain that my very first bite of their Kronuts will happen. Exactly 12:30pm, I arrived at Pioneer Center, Shaw Boulevard to try this mini pastries of Chatime.

While waiting for my turn to get the Kronuts, I ordered my favorite:

It was so refreshing for a gloomy afternoon

It taste like donut that are deep-friend dough, sprinkled with white sugar and bavarian-like feeling inside.

Our first thought was that, the place had no seats or place to hang out and it was pretty small, but then they actually had a dining area on the second floor. A lot of customers come by just to enjoy a cup of their delicious drinks.

BONO Artisanal Gelato now open in The Podium

I was so thrilled when Bono Artisanal Gelato finally opened in The Podium! If someone would let me choose Gelato or Ice cream, I would choose Gelato, because of the texture and many flavors to choose from. Like Bono said on facebook, in eight (8) weeks you can try all of their Gelato, imagine how many variants they have for dessert.

They are different because of the love to experiment with flavors. A new and exciting flavors which would delight customers.

What I liked about BONO the most is that they have fun, unique flavors which you can't find in other gelato stores! Their best-selling flavors are Speculoos and Taho. You can ask to try out the flavors first before ordering.

Red Velvet Cupcake

Since it was my first encounter with this flavor, I was bracing myself for some of cupcake sweetness, but it turns out, this one is just mildly sweet and ultra creamy. I loved this flavor, and I'm so looking forward to try out their bestselling Taho next.

Pistacchio

Its unique nutty flavour is what defines this ice cream.

Cronuts and Crookies at Wildflour Café + Bakery

A simple Wildflour Cafe + Bakery script on one of the glass walls. Very nice lighting inside. Hardwood tables and chairs. It really gave local corner cafe vibe. As we walked inside we decided to take the low chairs with the full view of outside. The waiter greeted us and hand over the house's menu.

Its only been a couple of months since this humble corner store opened and yet it has already made a huge buzz. With foodies around the metro falling in line to get a seat and have the opportunity to eat at this much talked about restaurants.

My favorite among all the dishes that were served is this one, Croque Madame. It contained a lot of eggs and cheese so it is not really a healthy option.

Baked macaroni topped of with gruyer and cheddar cheese. This is an ultimate comfort food specially with the rich hot cheese having a very consistent sticky texture. Unfortunately, this dish lacked the seasoning. had to add a few dash of salt just to kick start this dish. Great for sharing.

Other Flavors: Dulce de Leche, Mixed Berry, and Vanilla

Finally tried their Cronuts and it lived up to the hype! It's yummy and not so sweet, I like the custard creme in the middle. NOTE: You have to line-up (even if you're dine-in) to buy this scrumptious Cronuts and you can only choose two flavors per person.

Crookie Php 120

It's a Croissant Oreo Cookies, a Wildflour’s Oreo-Stuffed Croissant. Similar to the version of their Cronuts, they have the custard feeling but with Oreos in the middle. I find their crookie too sweet for my taste.

Overall, Prices are expensive specially if you consider the quality of food being put out but nonetheless, I loved the place and how the staff were very accomodating and friendly. Freshly baked Cronuts' batch hours: 12nn, 2:30pm and 4pm.

We grab the opportunity and had our breakfast in Cafe Shiro (Formerly Shiro Shiro Japanese Restaurant). The restaurant is looking very inviting cozy and quite enjoyable for me since there are a lot of posters with different phrases translated in Japanese. They have a modern Japanese feel with panels of iconic places in Japan. The cozy lighting and use of dark panels lets customers feel comfortable.

Gyudon Php 300

Gyudon, a Japanese dish consisting of a bowl of rice topped with beef and onion simmered in a mildly sweet sauce flavored and is topped with a raw egg. I love the thinned cut beef plus the sauce that make it amazing.

Hot Chocolate

I can say that this is not their specialty because of the lack of sweetness and taste like Milo, plus, it's just warm not hot.

Their staff was not very Japanese-y. Their staff does not pay much attention to the customers. We kept calling for a crew member’s attention and had to wait a little before one came over to our table. We even had to wait long just for water to be served.

Though the food was great, the service was poor.

Here in Manila, the latest craze is for the Cronut™. And there's no doubt, that Chef Dominique Ansel had a great idea of creating a new version of croissant with a twist of making it a doughnut, which is why many have unveiled its version of the hybrid pastry.

One of the new coffee shops is Anybody Coffee who followed the new trend of selling another version which is Cronutz. It comes with five (5) unique flavors which are...

Verdict

I like the Dark Chocolate Cronutz because of the right sweetness level. On the other hand, the topping of other four (4) Cronutz are a little sweet to my taste. Overall, I like the quality of their Cronuts, so I'll surely come back for more Dark Chocolate Cronutz.

After having our hearty dishes in Saboten, what come's next is the dessert! :D It was late afternoon and my sweet tooth is on alert mode, wanting to be pacified.

We have our very own choices of ice cream scoops placed in paper cups or waffle cones.

I randomly selected the flavor so I chose Salted Caramel with Roasted Almonds.

And not bad for a first time like me, its definitely the taste what I'm looking for.

Salty yet sweet. I love the buttery feeling that exploring all over my mouth.

First of all, I tried my first Saboten in Hong Kong International Airport last June 7, 2013. I had a great experience with their pork tonkatsu so what more if I tried the branch in Serendra Piazza, Taguig.

Present Time. Since I was craving for Japanese food last Wednesday, I pushed myself and my friend to eat at Saboten. Usually this place would have long lines And it's rather busy during dinner time so we aimed for lunch time. So lucky for us, there wasn't any. :D

We were surprised by the size of the platter when it was served. It occupied the half table already. I have to say that it was able to surpass my expectations for this dish.

Miso Katsu Tenderloin

Everything I was looking for in a Katsudon was superbly delivered by Saboten. Crunchy, non fatty, lightly breaded and tasty pork strips, with sweet Katsudon sauce with a heavy serving of rice (that I myself can't finish) made up my meal.Of course it still came with the miso soup and unlimited shredded cabbage.

We're both first timers here and it was a really fun and satisfying experience the food here were really good and delicious, Saboten is worth every peso that you'll pay.

We decided to have a dinner in a new restaurant in Tomas Morato because they were featured in ClickTheCity.com which we got curious about so we finally tried it. Luckily, there's not much customer when we got their.

So we ordered their bestsellers:

Salpicao Php 370

Salpicao is is a Spanish dish of tender cuts of beef cooked in garlic. Best served over rice or garlic rice to add to the garlic-y flavor of the dish.

Poppins' Surf & Turf Php 400

Consist of Australian Rib Eye served with Cajun shrimp, barbecue sauce sweet potato wedges & Cajun tartar sauce. The beef is very tender and juicy, I really enjoyed it with barbecue sauce.

Mango Shake

Love the design of the tables and chairs, and I find the ambiance comfortable.

Chef Liah De Castro, the head-chef of the restaurant.

She's very approachable and down-to-earth person even though she's too busy in their kitchen, maybe you'll see her when you stop by at Poppins.

One of the most awaited food bazaar of the year has been held on May 18, 2013 at NBC Tent.

We went there by 11am and when we got inside to register, it's unbelievably crowded. But the good thing this year is that they change their venue, more spacious, one plate per registration, more table stand and oh! they have a water counters! I will honestly admit that last year's rockwell tent is really a small place and many people going inside not caring if they feel uncomfortable because the AC is no working properly, well I can't blame them if you can taste everything for an entrance fee of Php 200 only.

GrandMomma's Kitchen in Il Terrazzo

There's a country feeling with the design of the restaurant; it's small restaurant that can house around fifty (50) people. Grandmomma's Kitchen doesn't have the fast food feeling with plastic chairs and usually dirty floors, and courteous waiters!

The ambiance of the place is cozy which is good for get together celebration.

Quarter Chicken Php 155

We have a feeling that they are known for their chicken, so we ordered 1/4 chicken with one (1) side dish of our choice! Their chicken is tender and juicy. Unfortunately, their chicken doesn't have any gravy but they have a soy sauce on the table in case you want it to be salty. I Just hope they have some kind of gravy or have specialty sauce to make it more unique but then again the marinate was delish.

Smoked Baby Back Ribs Php 255

Their Baby back ribs contains a lot of meaty area and it was served generously. I love the taste of this pork because it was a bit sweet because of its marinade. I'll order this again once I went within their area.

Both our meals did not cost more than Php 500 and yet we're full. Plus, service is fast and the place is clean and well air conditioned too. We really had a great time at GrandMomma's. It’s one of those place where you are able to get quality food without burning a whole in your wallet.

• Guests are also able to book their flights via AirAsia’s new and improved mobile apps as well which are available for download at Apple’s App Store for iPhone, Google’s Play Store for Android phones, or at mobile.airasia.com for WAP enabled phones.

“Aside from being able to book their flights 24/7, our guests will be very happy to finally have the same option to pay cash, any time at any 7-Eleven store nationwide. In the next few weeks, we will announce more payment partners so that more and more people will benefit from our low fares and extensive route network spanning 20 countries and 80 destinations,” Hontiveros added.

To celebrate the partnership, AirAsia is offering promo fares from as low as P699 for Davao and Kalibo; P999 for Taipei and Hong Kong and P1,499 for Singapore. The ambiance of Bubble Tea is vibrant and relaxing. It's just the perfect place to just hang-out with your friends over good food and good drinks. The meals are pretty affordable and tasty. For their price, it's definitely a winner.

The chicken rice platters were delicious. There could have been more veggies but the chicken was tasty and the sauce was good.

H Cuisine has been the talk of the town when it comes to Angus Beef Belly. They were also featured in tv shows with their Chef Hannah Herrera- Bagatsing. My friends and I decided to have dinner here for a change. We used to go to shopping malls for dinner but now, we will do something different.

The interior is very simple. In fact, it is situated beside Serenitea. Despite their non assuming location, a lot of people would really flock this place for their signature dish. Their ambiance is very relaxing and the servers are very courteous and warm towards everyone.

Most Awesome Angus Beef Belly Php 288

It was simply an awesome complimentary dish to their well-cooked Angus Beef Belly. It's is a popular beef breed of cattle that comes from the U.S. It is really a high quality type of beef so no wonder there prices of burger are a bit expensive. Thinking about it makes me crave for it all over again.

Meat was braised to a point where it was really tender yet still juicy. It was large enough to share with two people. it was hot and freshly cooked and i couldn't wait any longer to have a piece of it.

Apart from steaks, they also have good appetizers like their Pumpkin Soup. It's thick, creamy, and it's not that salty.

Happiness in Dessert with Larcy's Cupcakerycafe

Larcy's Cupcakerycafe reminds me of my childhood because of their store colors and you can sit in for this lovely dessert. My sister was so amazed by the cafe and cupcakes that she requested me to blog this cafe. Thankfully Larcy's Cupcakerycafe was just around the corner so we decided to buy a few yummy treats.

A light and moist kiss from a loved one, because the cake is a blend of lightness and moisture. I personally believe they have succeeded, it capture the flavours of happiness in infuse and linger around your mouth.

And now the presentation of their cupcakes, We bought three of their best sellers..

Pink Velvet Php 70

Their specialty cupcake. It was moist and yet the level of flavour was decent. The icing wasn’t too sweet or too hard. The proportion of the icing to the cupcake was perfect.

Nutella

It's sweet but moderate. which is nice so that you wont get too much sugar or wont get too umay with it. And of course the softness it's like a snow melting on the mouth.

VERDICT

One thing I noticed about their cupcakes is that you can eat them even without the icing. That's how delicious they are, It's everything a person with sweet tooth can wish for, add that to yummy icing then you're in heaven! But too much icing and you'll get tired of it too quickly so you better pace yourself when you're eating Larcy's Cupcakerycafe.

For the price, I'd say it's a bit too much, the cupcakes aren't that big so you'd think they wouldn't cost you. Overall, I highly recommend dining at Larcy's Cupcakerycafe.

I can't believe that I've never tried it before! Best thing about Borgo Cafe is the ambiance, the moment you enter the restaurant, it feels, smells, and tastes like Italy. The waiter who is servicing our table was very concerned to us that even if we have not requested yet for one, he already served or gave us.

The Italian feel and ambiance of the store is perfect for a date with your lover or a night out with your friends, the price isn't that expensive considering that the food is excellent, and the service was good.

The creaminess and the mushroom inside make this soup delicious. You eat one bowl and it'll fill you up!

The beef was tender and was well cooked. The sauce was just right for the steak. It’s perfect especially when it’s hot.

It was my first time to eat in Moshi Moshi and I got a little excited when I knew I was having Japanese cuisine for lunch time. From their decors to their snazzy presentation, Moshi Moshi is one of the coolest dining experiences I've had in a while.

Aside from authentic Japanese cuisines, they have a cozy place and a wonderful service. The whole place was very spacious and filled with clean whites and refreshing green hues. The interior looks very modern and hip. And the apple green lights which gave off not only additional lighting, but also a nice decorative touch was one of my favorite things in the restaurant.

The chicken skin was surprisingly crispy and drizzled with tasty and sweet Teriyaki sauce with just the right amount of viscosity which made the meal quite satisfying.

The beef gyudon was sweet and very tender making me crave some more.

Well-known for their fried chicken, we decided to have a late lunch at Sincere. Their fried chicken is very crunchy and flavorful. This place is very simple.

No fancy furniture and decorations. It's air-conditioned but still simple compared to the restaurants located in Ortigas and Makati.

It lacked the richness of the flavors and the coconut milk is overwhelming to the point that is the only thing I can taste that made the curry flavor disappear.

The place was very nice. So well-lit, very spacious and full of Japanese artwork. In line with this, the whole place was a bit spacious and tidy which makes everyone feel cozy and relax on where they're seating at. The staff were accommodating and they have fast internet connection for free.
