"Em Portugal, especialmente na zona centro e estremadura, no 1º de novembro ou dia de Todos-os-Santos, as crianças saem à rua e juntam-se em pequenos bandos para pedir o pão-por-deus (ou o bolinho) de porta em porta. As crianças quando pedem o pão-por-deus recitam versos e recebem como oferenda: pão, broas, bolos, romãs e frutos secos, nozes, tremoços amêndoas,ou castanhas que colocam dentro dos seus sacos de pano, de retalhos ou de borlas. É também costume em algumas regiões os padrinhos oferecerem um bolo, o Santoro. Em algumas povoações chama-se a este dia o ‘Dia dos Bolinhos’ ou ‘Dia do Bolinho’. Os bolinhos típicos são especialmente confecionados para este dia, sendo à base de farinha e erva doce com mel (noutros locais leva batata doce e abóbora) e frutos secos como passas e nozes."

On a rainy day I`ve found this beautiful shop in Lisbon, you can see so many fantastic things, traditional and from old factories, some now closed. We`ve been going thought a crisis that has been closing down many many small shops, small factories that belonged to family business and where the support for so many families. When I see a shop like this, I truly love it and appreciate their daily effort for keeping the door open. On the shop display is written "50th Anniversary"! Isn´t it fantastic?

Nos nossos movimentos diários, ás vezes encontramos pessoas com as quais nos cruzamos que embora nunca as tenhamos visto parece-nos de um amigo de longa data duma outra vida, quem sabe?? Já me aconteceu por várias vezes e com diversas pessoas este sentimento de pertença e proximidade imediata. Finalmente conheci pessoalmente a Graça Paz, de quem já tenho falado aqui algumas vezes. A Graça mostrou-se a sua casa maravilhosa e cheia de cor e só vos digo que é muito mais bonita ao vivo do que nas fotos! A Graça, os filhotes, o espaço, o estilo de vida, tudo junto, tudo justificado, tudo encaixado, fazendo parte do mesmo bloco, da mesma pessoa, do mesmo sentimento.

Sometimes, in our daily life, we meet people that we`ve never seen before but as we look at them immediatly feel some kind of belonging that seens more as a meeting of friends from other lifes, who knows? It happened several times to me. Finally I knew Graça Paz personally, I have already talked about her here. Graça revealed to me her wonderful house full of color and I can say that she is much prettier alive than in the photos! Graça, herself, her kids, the place, the lifestyle, everything together, everything justified, being part of the same block, the same person, the same feeling.

My blog needs mouth-to-mouth breathing... People have been asking about this blog and if I still do my *Chocha Dolls*, the answer is YES, I will try to come here more often, in fact I have a bunch of posts to write! Anyway, you can follow my work here and here!

Felt so inspired with these birdhouses that children from my school made that decided to post about it. Aren´t they super-cute?? Despite birds rarely use birdhouses made by humans I love the idea of invite them to come in. I have a bird house in my garden, but never saw one inside. They prefer to steal my dogs leftovers. Anyway, check this ideas.
