North Texas was completely taken by surprise on this one. Most around here feel his performance as manager has improved, albeit, Mike Maddux receives more credit for the Rangers turn around, but overall, Washington has gone from someone barely keeping his job to relative stabilization for now. Then the admission. Well, I for one, have joked that he looks like a heroin addict. I would joke with family regularly on this fact. I had my suspicions behind Washington's nice guy, and player friendly image. OK. I had the wrong drug. But my suspicions turned out to be quite right. Now we grapple with his statement that it was a single use and one time failure of judgment. Really? Is it normal for a 57 year old holding a position of responsibility and in the public eye just wander into a situation where he is offered cocaine and chooses to use it for the first time? Really? Most of us could not get this kind of a hookup unless we ran around in circles that regularly participated in this sort of activity. I would propose this is no different for Washington. I am interested to know the setting where he decided to "experiment" with this dangerous drug. It would seem that his actions were packed with intent, not just some random and momentary failure in judgment. I do not look to fry the guy, or judge too harshly. I am supportive of the Rangers not reacting too abruptly and refusing his resignation offer. The Rangers appear to be a forgiving organization as proven by taking a chance on Josh Hamilton and not folding his tent after his admitted weekend bender in Arizona a year ago. I support this. I support Washington as continuing as a manager even though I do not believe he is the best of managers. I would not want this kind of incident to evaluate his performance as a manager. But the suspicious side of me wonders if this truly was a onetime incident or something a bit larger. Bottom line, as a Ranger fan, (well second to my beloved Cubbies) I hope this does not affect the promising season ahead. And I too am willing to support Washington as well, but I must say, I am extremely suspicious of the "one time" story. Like I said, I had the wrong drug.

Best High School Baseball bats by Bryan Ciconte

Hi my name is Bryan from Hittingmadesimple and I want to address my top 5 bat selections for high school play. They will be in no particular order because one bat may feel better to someone else than yourself. I will break down the specs of each bat. I also recommend since you are in high school to purchase composite bats while you still can that fit under the BESR certification. With composite bats over time as they break in unlike alloy bats will perform better and surpass the given exit speed that is regulated under that certification. This is the reason that NCAA banned composite bats for play.

Easton Stealth Speed Series 75 and 95

Once again, EASTON® takes the game's best bats to a whole new level. Our industry-leading innovation has fostered new precision manufacturing techniques that allow for less mass in the barrel (lighter MOI) - making your swing become even faster. Offered in two flex ratings and using EASTON'S® patented two-piece ConneXion™ technology, the STEALTH SPEED bats remain unmatched in performance. IMX™ Composite

Handle Flex Rating - 75 (Regular Handle Flex) VRS™ Rating - 95 Hitting Area Rating - 100 Swing Weight (M.O.I.) Rating - 80 BESR Certified 2-5/8" barrel, -3 length-to-weight Thin 31/32" tapered handle with Pro-Tack grip Demarini CF4 Black

The all new CF4 Black is here. With a longer (11%) and stronger double composite barrel, the CF4 Black is our most technologically advanced bat. The redesigned end cap, The Hub, adds power, better feel, and provides a better sounding bat. When you add it all up, you get one ass-kickin' bat.

TPX Triton

3X composite technology. 3-zone design with one-piece strength. And Slugger's exclusive Bubble Transition Zone for barrel/handle bonding: These are just three reasons why you'll see Triton's name in the winners' column this year and beyond. 3X composite design

* Bubble transition zone * 2 5/8" barrel, -3 oz. without grip * Synthetic grip, 31/32" tapered handle * Louisville Slugger® end cap * Meets high school BESR bat standards

TPX Exogrid

The innovative Exogrid® delivers power and performance through stiffness and strength. The combination of one-piece construction and carbon composite inserts for handle stiffness has made this bat a choice of champions throughout the country. ST+20 alloy/composite hybrid

* 2 5/8" barrel, -3 oz. without grip * Patented Pro Cup® end cap * Synthetic grip, 31/32" tapered handle * Meets college and high school BESR bat standards

Combat B2

We went back to the drawing board to improve last year's Virus AB with this hot new design. The B2 has dynamically tuned bending to minimize handle vibrations for a great feel, soft barrel and maximum performance. Plus, Combat's Variable Stiffness Technology produces a bigger sweetspot to take performance and feel to a new level. Balanced weighting provides the lowest allowable swingweight for maximum bat speed and control. This bat is truly the best.

It has taken three years and thousands of hours of lab and field testing to design a bat worthy of the B2 logo.

Maximum Performance (MAP) Balanced Low Swingweight Ultra Soft Feel (USF) Variable Stiffness Technology (VST) Blended Fiber Technology (BFT) Extra Long Barrel Single Wall Construction 2 5/8" Diameter

Eric Gagne admits using HGH by Stan Winman

MLB happen to be overwhelmed with their anabolic steroid and human growth hormone debate. Out of the top fifteen all time home run hitters, half a dozen of them have publicly stated to using steroids like , Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, A Rod, and Man Ram.

Nowadays it is frequent that people almost expect Major Leaguers participants to be using the juice or HGH. Regardless of all the rumors many pro leaguers still have not publicly stated to having them. Many only come clean when they are exposed like Rafael Palmeiro continue today to deny in spite of overwhelming evidence they all took performing improving drug treatments to improve their hitting game.

It is still a light of breath air when a player comes clean. Eric Gagne former CY Young winner tells the LA Times that he used growth hormone injections when Gagne was a dominating relief pitcher for LA.

Gagne was quoted as indicating he used growth hormone to aid himself "get better" after suffering a knee damage in spring training of 2005.

Gagne damaged his throwing elbow, which required 2 surgical treatments. Eric had surgical procedure in 2006, and he has suffered thigh and shoulder incidents the past a number of periods. He is seeking to make the LA Dodgers bull-pen as a non-roster player.

While Eric was using human growth hormone Eric went to become a relief pitcher instead of a starting pitcher. For three years (2002-2004) Gagne was statistically the most outstanding relief pitcher in Major League Pitcher, winning the best pitcher award in 2003. From that time Gagne established a MLB record of eighty four straight saves.

On Dec. 07, Gagné was listed in the Mitchell Report-former Senator George Mitchell's report on the use of steroids and HGH in Major League Baseball. Gagné was discovered as a person of HGH (Human Growth Hormone). Eric Gagne received the drugs from steroids supplier Kirk Radomski. Receipts of US Postal Service shipments suggest that Radomski acquired at the very least one payment from Gagné.

Eric was a late draft choice of the Chicago White Sox in 1994.

Human growth hormone has been labeled the fountain of youth or anti aging drug. It has been validated to reverse time and aging. Some of the gains include elevated energy , much better sports performance and healing, boosts immune technique, reduces weak bones, improves interest in sex , increases heart functionality, removes aging in the skin, helps bring about thicker hair growth and boosts feelings and sleep patterns.

Though Human growth hormone is outlawed for sports activities but it really does possess a lot of benefits to everyday folks but there are many Hgh swindles on the marketplace. So it seems you want to learn one of the most overlooked principles in these sports. Bunting! Bunting is a very crucial aspect to the sport and can help you win a ball game, or get that extra hit you need for the day maintain or increase your average. Buy becoming a better bunter you will help yourself create holes in the infield which will increase your percentage to obtaining a hit. Just by being a bunt threat can make you a.330 hitter instead of a.280 hitter, or a.400 hitter inseated of a.350 hitter. So I highly suggest you read my article to obtain these tips.

Sac Bunt:

First off whether you are a right or left handed hitter there is one thing you need to know about bunting. NEVER EVER square your body up to the pitcher by putting your back foot next to the plate exposing your entire from half of your body to the pitcher. Its a very bad technique and in return will leave you wide open to injury since you will not be able to turn your body away from the pitch.

Second stand up in the box. This goes for any type of bunt your plan to lay down. By standing up in the box you will expand the fair territory for you to work with as a hitter.

Righty: You will remain in your original stance and should not show bunt until the pitcher breaks his hands to deliver the pitch. You should break the bat into 3 equal pieces and slightly slide your backfoot toward the 3rd base dugout. The barrel should be slightly above the knob of your bat to ensure bunting the ball on the ground. If you are planning to sac bunt to 3rd base then the end cap of your bat should point roughly at the 1st base bag. If your attempting to bunt to the 1st base side then the knob of your bat should point roughly towards the 3rd base bag. DO NOT poke at the ball or you will increase your chance of popping it up. Simply bend your knees if the pitch is slightly lower than your original position. Since anything above your original position would be a ball up in the zone. Your goal is to catch the ball with your bat. By doing so you will deaden the ball and have greater results.

Lefty: You will remain in your original stance and should not show bunt until the pitcher breaks his hands to deliver the pitch. You should break the bat into 3 equal pieces and slightly squat with your lower half to create and athletic position. You do not need to make any adjustments with your lower half such as moving the position of your feet like the righty. The barrel should be slightly above the knob of your bat to ensure bunting the ball on the ground. If you are planning to sac bunt to 1st base then the end cap of your bat should point roughly at the 3rd base bag. If your attempting to bunt to the 3rd base side then the knob of your bat should point roughly towards the 1st base bag.

Drag Bunt:

Both of the above techniques apply to drag bunting. The only thing that is different is the timing of your bunt and where you want to aim your bunt. All bunts should be considered line huggers of foul. That should be your mindset as a hitter. You should not show bunt until the pitcher is about to release the ball, thus surprising the pitcher and fielders of an unaticipated bunt.

Push Bunt:

Righty: This type of bunt only applies to the right handed hitter. All above applies with this bunt in reference to the drag bunt. However the batter will break the bat into 2 pieces not 3. The batter will show this bunt as the pitcher is about to release the ball. In return the hitter will push the ball with his first stride of running toward 1st base, usually off the hitters right foot punching the ball toward the 2nd basemen. This type of bunt is good if a hitter is trying to advance a runner to 3rd with less than 1 out or if the second basemen is playing in the grass.

Lefty Bring It With You Bunt:

Lefty: This bunt is only for the lefties. Duirng his running motion the hitter will keep the bat in 3 pieces using their top hand to create a sweeping motion grounding the ball to the second basemen. Think of siwnging a gate. That should be the type of motion you want to creat this type of bunt. This type of bunt is good if a hitter is trying to advance a runner to 3rd with less than 1 out or if the second basemen is playing in the grass.

Thank you for your time and I hope you can increase your average either by showing bunt or using it. Good luck!

Bryan @ http://www.hittingmadesimple.com

Your #1 source for online hitting information! These include its weight, barrel width and length. The league requirements may also play an important role in your decision making. Though there are the wood ones, a number of people are opting for the aluminum or the cutting-edge alloy youth baseball bats. Generally, the players look for the lightest one available for its length that helps them to maximize the swing power. However, they are usually expensive. On the other hand, there are the heavier bats that are made of cheaper-grade aluminum and are usually thicker. You can also have the longer one that provides more plate coverage. However, they too weigh more. Finally, there is the shorter one which is faster. On the downside, this type of spots gears may force you to crowd the plate to reach the outer edge of your strike zone.

In case you are a beginner, it will be better for you to go for a bat made of aluminum or composites. They are stronger than the wooden ones and are also lighter. They also allow the player to hit the balls with greater speeds because of their lighter weight. Moreover, they last longer than their wooden competitors. However, the professionals are only allowed to play with the wooden baseball bats.

Another thing you need to consider while purchasing youth baseball bats is the size of the barrel. The one with larger barrel will provide more power. They also come with a bigger sweet spot. However, they are heavier and require more mass.

Since you cannot really hit a ball in the store or swing the bat for that purpose, it is better to go out to a local batting cage where you can try many different such sports accessories. This will help you to get an accurate picture of the type of bat that best suits you and you can make your choice accordingly.

In addition, keep in mind that the barrel of the youth baseball bats must not be above 2 1/4 inches in diameter. Also avoid buying those that are more than 33 inches long. They must be taped around the handle as well as up 10 inches. Moreover, look for the minus numbers that are written on these spots gears. These numbers are used to show the measurements of a bat. For instance, if you opt for a bat that is 33 inches long and is marked -10, it means your bat weighs 23 ounces. Thereby, go for bats with higher negative number.

Last-Minute Travel to Florida and Arizona for Spring Training by Jeff Martinez

Who says spring break is all about beaches, shopping and nightlife? Although the 2010 Major League Baseball regular season doesn't kick off until April 4, spring training is in full swing. If you're traveling to Florida or Arizona for spring break, you might be just a short drive away from one of several spring training facilities dotted across cities in each state. The "Sunshine State" and "Grand Canyon State," both known for their warm climates, are the only states throughout the country that play host to spring training ballgames.

Whether you're an avid baseball fan or simply looking to while a few hours away with friends, a day at the ballpark makes a great alternative to an afternoon spent amid the hustle and bustle of a jam-packed amusement park, crowded mall or tourist-saturated beach. What's more, every game affords spectators the opportunity to get an autograph, catch a foul ball, or take loads of pictures.

Spring training is divided into two leagues with 15 teams apiece. Florida-training teams make up the Grapefruit League, while teams that train and play exhibition games in Arizona are in the Cactus League. More than 1.5 million fans have attended Grapefruit League games six years running while the Cactus League set an attendance record with 1.31 million fans in 2008.

And while Arizona is nearly synonymous with the Grand Canyon and Florida conjures images of breathtaking rides at Orlando's famed theme parks, there's plenty more to do at these sun-drenched spring hot spots. Both states offer a wealth of recreational activities including golf, hiking and biking. If you're big on sunset-watching, you'll want to visit Phoenix, which sees more than 300 days of sunshine each year. (I guess they call it "The Valley of the Sun" for a reason!) Orlando was named the third most visited American city among travelers by Forbes in 2007, thanks largely to its popular theme parks, sprawling malls and a vibrant sports scene.

Whether you're heading southeast or southwest this spring, there are noteworthy hotels that sit just minutes from spring training stadiums across various cities in both states.

Grapefruit League

Champion Stadium, the spring training home of the Atlanta Braves in Lake Buena Vista at Walt Disney World, is only 1.3 miles from the Mona Lisa Suite Hotel, which offers complimentary shuttle service to the Walt Disney theme parks, Universal Orlando and Sea World. The stadium is also 1.6 miles from the Celebration Hotel, a AAA Four-Diamond boutique hotel in the heart of Celebration. Next to Lake Buena Vista lies Kissimmee, where travelers might catch a Houston Astros spring training game if they venture to Osceola County Stadium. Only seven miles away is Caribe Royal Orlando while the Radisson Orlando Resort and Gaylord Palms are each approximately 10 miles away.

If you're traveling to Legends Field in Tampa to watch the defending World Series champion New York Yankees in action, you can stay at Sailport Waterfront Suites on Tampa Bay, Tampa's only all-waterfront, all-suite hotel (roughly 4 miles away), or Safety Harbor Resort and Spa which, situated fewer than 11 miles away, underwent a multimillion dollar renovation in 2007.

Cactus League

Travelers visiting the Phoenix area can catch an Oakland Athletics game at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, which lies approximately 6.5 miles away from Best Western Dobson Ranch Inn and the 10 acres of landscaped courtyards on which it is set. Phoenix is also home to the resurgent Milwaukee Brewers who, in 2008, lost to the eventual World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies in their first playoff appearance since 1982. Try getting an autograph from All-Star first baseman Prince Fielder at Maryvale Baseball Park, which is about 5 miles away from the property declared "Best Boutique Hotel in Arizona" in 2007 by The Travel Channel - The Clarendon. Travel east and you'll find Scottsdale, the site of ever-popular Scottsdale Stadium. Home to the San Francisco Giants, it is approximately 2.5 miles away from Hospitality Suites Resort, which offers complimentary breakfast and features a Jacuzzi and three swimming pools.

Ready to escape the cold weather? Make sure to grab your glove and camera and catch a live spring training game in Florida or Arizona before time runs out. Play ball!

Brief History of Los Angeles Dodgers by russellhinton

The roots of the Los Angeles Dodgers were initially planted in 1883 in Brooklyn. Though they ran through a series of team names in the commencement of their franchise (Atlantics, Bridegrooms, Grooms, Superbas, Robins, and Trolley Dodgers), from conception they were a team after a tradition of success. Shortly after the birth of this franchise they won the AA championship in 1889 and were invited to join the National League (which they still are a part of) in 1890. By the 1930's they took on the familiar title of the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Brooklyn era of the Dodgers was full of success both in winning ball games and in changing the world around them. The Dodgers made sports history in supporting the integration of African Americans to Major League baseball, beginning with baseball legend and future Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson in 1947. The Dodgers willingness to support African American participation in Major League Baseball dealt them a huge advantage, leading them to win 6 pennants in the 10 years following the coming of Jackie Robinson, including a World Series Championship where the famous "Boys of Summer" (as the Dodgers were known) took out the legendary "Bronx Bombers" in the 1955 World Series in 7 games. Seven years after Walter O'Malley acquired the franchise the Dodgers packed up their bags going from Brooklyn to LA, where they changed the pace from winning National League Pennants to winning World Series Championships. After winning just one World Series Championship in all of the decades playing in Brooklyn the Dodgers went on to win 5 more World Series over the Next 30 years in LA, creating a loyal fan base for the "Boys in blue." The Dodgers winning tradition was strong during those decades of success, producing legendary players(Sandy Koufax, Duke Snider, Orel Hershiser, etc.) championships(1959, 1963, 1965, 1981,1988) but all of that ended in 1988. After being led by Hershiser's incredible scoreless inning streak in 1988 the Dodgers have not had the same magic ever since. Year in and year out the Dodgers would produce the best young talent in the league, winning Rookie of the Year awards for the National League a whopping FIVE consecutive seasons in the early to mid 90's(Eric Karros, Raul Mondesi, Mike Piazza, Hideo Nomo, Todd Hollandsworth). They were also a huge factor in the presence of the Asian player in Major League Baseball, bringing players such as Hideo Nomo and Chan Ho Park to the organization. This source of talent had been nearly untapped before the Dodgers went in, yet for 20 years the Dodgers could not succeed in even winning a single series in the playoffs. The Dodgers however are on the upswing. With the most heralded manager for the Dodgers since the days of Tommy Lasorda(Joe Torre), and being led by a bevy of young, talented bats(Kemp & Ehtier), pitchers(Clayton Kershaw & Chad Billingsley), and anchored by the experienced run producing Manny Ramirez the Dodgers look to have an opportunity to bring their names back to glory.

Bat Speed The Truth by Hittingmadesimple.com

So you want to learn how to generate bat speed in your swing as a hitter. Well you came to the right article if you want to the find the truth in accomplishing this goal of yours. Well let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Bryan and I represent a website for hitting called hittingmadesimple. This website was generated to help baseball and softball players from all over the country achieve their own unique personal goals as players. I enjoy helping people out and thats my goal.

For myself I was gifted with quick hands and bat speed was never a problem in the world of hitting for myself. I was a rare exception of size and power. I stood 5'6" and weighed between 145-180lbs. during my college playing days. I generated bat speed in the avg of 90-95mph which allowed me to hit balls 400+. So let me fill you in on some quick pointers on developing more bat speed and in return MORE POWER!

Let's make one thing clear of the bat. I'm going to be honest if your looking to gain 10mph in your swing in weeks thats just physically impossible. Some factors you need to take in when generating or developing hand speed. Age, maturity, talent, work ethic, and weight training.

For the most part I honestly feel you either have natural hand speed or you don't. So if you don't how do you go about gaining 5-10 mph on your swing. First understand it takes time. It's very similar to weight or strength training. You will see some quick increases early and then slowly level out over time. You need to know when to take breaks, increase your weight and challenge yourself. Another factor in increasing bat speed will be age and maturity. Obviously the older your get the more strength you will aquire which will naturally increase your bat speed. Work ethic is another key factor in this process. You need to be willing to put the time in to accomplish these goals. This isn't an overnight process. Ok! Now the good stuff.

Here I will cover your 2 ways to increase bat speed!

1) Drills will not help you create bat speed. Their great for mechanics and hand eye coordination but not bat speed. Therefore, in order to create bat speed just like in weight training you need to weight train your swing. I suggest obtaing several different weighted bats, prefer wood. Don't go so heavy that you can't properly swing the bat without ruining your mechanics. When I was in high school I used a 30oz bat. So when I bat trained I would warm up with my normal bat, taking about 20 swings always at 70-80% of your maximal swing speed. Then do another set of 10-20 with a 33oz, then 36oz, then 40oz. I wouldnt recommend going much heavier than 40oz but you absoluetly can. Then go back down the pyramid until you hit with your original bat. Quality over Quantity! You will see how much more effortless bat speed you gained in the first session. If you don't have the money to have all these different weighted bats, use donuts. You can hit with a donut on your bat and their much cheaper and come in different weights. During a game always use a weight bat to warm up, Heavier the better. For example look at Ryan Howard! He warms up with a steel pipe! And always practice hitting at 80% focusing on square impact with the ball. Good solid contact just like in golf will out hit good bat speed and inconsistant contact!

2) Weight training. Hitting with power and generating bat speed come from the large muscles in your body such as your core and legs. Thats why guys like Chase Utley who only weigh around 175lbs can hit with such great power. I highly suggest finding a weight training program to develop these areas. Don't just focus on these groups, upper body is just as important. I just wanted to make the fact known that your large muscles are what will create your power.

I hope this article on generating batspeed helped your game. Well you came to the right article. I will keep it short, simple and to the point. I will cover a few tips and topics to raise your average 50-100 points.

Tip 1) Develop a game plan. So what do I mean by developing a game plan. I want you to develop an approach that you use every single time you step up to the plate. A good approach would consist of understanding how to count hit. By count hitting you will be able to anticipate what type of pitch you may see roughly 80% of the time.

Advantage Counts: 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-1, 3-0 Approach: In these counts your goal is simple, look for something you can hit hard. If the pitcher throws you a pitch in an area that is not in your hot zone, don't swing. Do not swing at off-speed pitches during these counts, look for fastballs. Reality is if the pitcher throws an off-speed pitch during these counts more often than not it's going to be a ball and put you in a greater advantage. Of course there are exceptions. The only time you may want to swing at an off-speed pitch during this count is if relates to one of your strengths or the pattern percentages anticipate one.

Neutral Counts: 1-1, 2-1, 3-2 Approach 1: In these counts neither the hitter nor pitcher has an advantage. As I talked about earlier this is where having a good game plan is going to pay off. In these counts you should be able to anticipate what you may see. So trust your percentages and instinct in these counts. Approach 2: If you are comfortable in hitting with 2 strikes you can treat these counts as an advantage count, hitting to your strengths. Both approaches are great, but which one you choose is your personal preference.

Defensive Counts: 0-1, 0-2, 1-2, 2-2 Approach: This is where you need to develop your 2 strike approach. In these counts the pitcher has you at his mercy leaving you with about a 20% chance of getting a hit. Your goal here is to battle at the plate by putting the ball in play or working the count neutral. A good mental approach for hitting with 2 strikes is thinking about hitting a pitch which speed is between the pitchers fastball and off-speed stuff. By doing so, your reactions will take over and adjust to the movement or lack of movement of the pitch. A good physical approach would consist of shortening your swing or choking-up on the bat.

These are just a few ideas on how to hit in an advantage, neutral, or defensive count. Throughout your career as a hitter you may find something else that works for you.

Tip 2) If your a good bunter and have speed utilze it, By either showing bunt or by bunting, more often than not you will put the 3rd of 1st basemen in a position that will create more holes in the infield creating a better chance for getting a hit.

Tip 3) Hit to your strengths not your weaknesses. Understand that by doing so you will enable yourself to be more confident at the plate and be more aggressive. Leave your weaknesses at practice.

I hope the few tips helped improve your game!

Thanks and good luck Bryan @ [http://www.hittingmadesimple.com Hitting Made Simple]

American League Baseball Championship Series by Bill Gerber

It's been a while since the New York Yankees made a World Series and you need to go back nine years since they captured one, but both the sports betting public and fans alike are having a difficult time seeing anyone beating them this year.
In online sportsbook Yankees had the best record in the entire regular season at 103-59 and swept the Minnesota Twins 3-0 in their American League Divisional Series.

It won't be a straight path to the World Series however as the Yanks face the Los Angeles Angels, who were 97-65 in the regular season and also had an ALDS sweep, taking down the Boston Red Sox 3-0.

Online sportsbook have the Yankees as the odds-on faves to win the World Series at -125 while the Angels are +350 to win it all.

Game 1 of the American League Championship Series goes on Friday and the series price on the Pinstripes is -180 while it is +160 for the Angels.

CC Sabathia will start for the home team Yanks, who are -170 faves in Game 1, and John Lackey will do the same for the Angels, who are +155 with a Total of 8.5.

Check all the baseball betting playoff lines

In the Angels' last nine visits to Yankee Stadium, there have been 7 Overs and 2 Unders.

The Yanks broke open the bank for Sabathia in the offseason and he has paid dividends.

In CC's last 20 home starts, New York has gone 15-5 straight up and in his last eight home starts, the Bronx Bombers are 8-0 SU.

Sabathia's last eight home starts have also produced 7 Unders.

Lackey has not been particularly strong in the month of October when it comes to wins and losses.

In his last eight outings in that month, the Angels have gone 2-6 SU.

He has taken his fair share of Unders in that month however, as his last 11 October outings have yielded 10 Unders and a single Over.

Sabathia is a southpaw and in the Angels' last 12 games against lefties, they are 10-2 SU and in their last 10 against LHPs, they have posted 9 Unders and an Over.

Lackey is a right-hander and the Yanks have been almost as impressive in their last 10 against righties going 8-2 SU with 7 Unders, 2 Overs and a Push on the Total to boot.

After seeing the Boston Red Sox capture a couple of World Series titles the past few seasons, you know Yankees fans are pining for another championship.

So far, the early sports betting action at online sportsbook has the Yankees seeing almost 80% of the volume in Game 1.

We'll find out if they can keep rolling starting this coming Friday.

Join today and get 110% free cash sign-up bonus.

Teaching Youth Baseball by Trevor Sumner

Teaching youth baseball is a rewarding experience for both parents and coaches alike. While parents have an obvious investment in the teaching of the fundamentals of the sport of baseball to their children, coaches, make a significant investment of their own in time, effort and emotion. From a personal perspective, one of the greatest rewards is indeveloping relationships with and positively affecting the lives of individual youth baseball players. The lessons of sports such as in baseball are positive and well documented. For coaches, there are also the internal rewards they get from seeing each player develop and from watching a youth baseball team improve as a group and learn to play together under their coaching tutelage.

Astute coaches improve the performance of the team as a whole by employing youth baseball drills to improve the individual performances of team players and there interactions together. There are three main categories in which youth baseball drills will have an immense effect on the performance levels of players.

Youth Batting Drills - one of the most important of the youth baseball drills. The vast majority of youth baseball players have the most fun when they hit. The better they are able to hit, the more fun that they will have, and the greater their interest in the sport of baseball. Coaches and parents who teach baseball drills in batting must stress the importance of a well-balanced stance that is comfortable for the individual player, picking the ball up as it leaves the pitcher's hand, and keeping the body weight back until the pitch is delivered. Youth Fielding Drills - an integral part of teaching the defensive position. Of course, there are sets of baseball fielding drills that are unique to each of the nine fielding positions in the game of baseball. However, there are baseball drills common to all fielding positions. One of the key youth baseball drills in catching ground balls is to keep the fingers of the fielding glove on the ground for ground balls, and raising the glove to catch the ball on the bounce, instead of lowering the glove. Another one of the instructional keys to fielding is to catch the thrown or batted ball with the wrist in an upward position for balls at or above the waist, and to turn the wrist upside down to catch balls below the waist. There are many ways to take a single drill and apply it so the whole team can practice at once. Youth Throwing Drills - the most basic of all youth baseball drills, and many instructors feel that it is the most important fundamental of all. It is vital for parents to make sure that their children develop proper throwing techniques from the time they can throw a baseball, around the age of eight or so. The importance of throwing a baseball with proper grip can not be overestimated. Youth throwing drills must emphasize four important elements: Throw the ball by gripping it with the index finger and middle finger on the ball; point your shoulder opposite from your throwing hand in the direction of your target; step in the direction of your target when you release the ball; and follow through after you release the ball with your back leg so that both legs are parallel upon the completion of the throw.

You can find many youth baseball drills on the Internet covering hitting, fielding and throwing. Some drills are free and some require subscription or for you to order a DVD. Free baseball drills allow you greater flexibility in trying a variety and see what works best for you as the coach and your youth baseball team. Always remember that drills should be age appropriate. The right fielding drill for a 14 year-old boy will not suit and 8-year old and vice versa.

There are many baseball coaching resources and communities like Weplay available to help with any questions you might have. Don't underestimate the passion of the community around you. We are all here to help the kids.

Benefits of Victory Softball and Baseball Uniform

Victory Custom Athletic, Inc. has since 1988, specialized in manufacturing custom baseball uniforms and softball uniforms through their Los Angeles based manufacturing operation.
