Avatar The Game Free Download Full Version

2012-08-31T03:10:00.000-07:00

Avatar James Cameron's: The Game is the official video game based on the film, and it takes you deep into the heart of Pandora.

Bigger doesn't mean better. Developer Ubisoft Montreal disregarded this mantra when creating James Cameron's Avatar, delivering a mediocre game loaded with unnecessary padding, rather than a tight and enjoyable package that could have gotten players excited about the upcoming film of the same name. In fact, if you're eagerly anticipating the upcoming Avatar movie, it's probably best that you avoid this bland and overlong third-person shooter altogether, because there's nothing fantastical or compelling about its story or characters. That isn't to say that Avatar is all bad. A branching story featuring two disparate factions makes this a two-games-in-one experience, so if you like wringing the last drop out of your $50, the single-player campaign might keep you busy for 15 hours or so.

Unfortunately, while a few of those hours are entertaining, Avatar's action is too bland and tedious to justify the game's length, and a variety of bugs and bizarre design elements put a further damper on the fun.

Avatar takes place on the planet Pandora, which the human-controlled Resources Development Administration (RDA) is stripping of its resources--much to the dismay of Pandora's indigenous population, the blue-skinned Na'vi. Meanwhile, the RDA has established a way of transferring a human's consciousness into an artificially created human/Na'vi hybrid called an avatar. You play as Ryder, an RDA operative who soon finds himself (or herself, if you choose a female persona) in over his head as he discovers the consequences of the RDA's destructive presence on Pandora. About an hour into the campaign, you'll be faced with a choice: side with the RDA, or live as an avatar and take your chances with the Na'vi. Yet no matter which path you meander down, you'll meet a series of unmemorable characters, played by unexceptional voice actors who deliver their poorly written lines without a trace of enthusiasm or urgency.

If you go the way of the RDA instead, you won't wield any melee weapons and will instead shoot your way to victory. You've got a pair of pistols to get you through if the better guns run out of ammo, but they're all but useless; luckily, your shotgun, flamethrower, and other weapons seem appropriately powerful, if not exactly satisfying to use. Enemies that melt into the background and inconsistent hit detection make it feel like you're spraying bullets around willy-nilly much of the time, and humanoid enemies are too stupid to make shooting them exciting. Your foes often will ignore comrades falling over dead right in front of them, engage harmless creatures and ignore you as you pick them off, and walk directly into walls and continue to walk in place. Not that AI characters are the only ones prone to technical weirdness. You might get stuck in a crevasse while flying a banshee, fall into an inescapable fissure, or dismount from a direhorse directly into the geometry of the plant right next to it and be unable to get out.

Avatar's multiplayer modes aren't quite as useless as Conquest, letting up to 16 players compete in a variety of modes like Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Capture the Flag. The multiplayer suite feel less like a throwaway than you might expect for a movie tie-in but the factions play so differently that weird imbalances become quickly apparent. A Na'vi player can crush an RDA player with a single swipe of his club, while an RDA player can jump in a mech suit and mow Na'vi down without much fuss. (Though oddly, the swarm of insects Na'vi players can unleash make short work of those big hunks of metal.) The factional differences make for some initially appealing variety, but the disparity is too great--and the basic mechanics too bland--to support long online sessions. The mechs don't feel heavy enough to make them fun to pilot, and the cavorting camera renders buggies as uncomfortable to drive in multiplayer sessions as they are in the campaign.

One of Avatar's main selling points is its use of 3D technology, so if you own a display with the right capabilities, you may get a kick out of seeing Avatar pop out of your screen. Yet even if you're one of the few lucky enough to see the game this way, no screen yet has the capability of making James Cameron's Avatar: The Game play any better than it does. It's not a bad game, and portions of it are competent, if not quite remarkable. But Avatar wears thin quickly, and the story is too fragile to compensate for the deficiencies.

Bubble Bobble Taito PC Game Free Download Full Version

2012-08-28T05:21:00.000-07:00

Bubble Bobble Taito: is an arcade-style action game starring dinosaurs who can run and spit bubbles at enemies.

Bubble Bobble's colorful cast of characters and pickups, as well as its chain-reaction bubble-bursting gameplay, provides a charming, very well-aged experience.

Reptilian beasts of myth are supposed to belch vicious flames from their mouths. Yet with Bubble Bobble, Taito somehow made it completely awesome for dragons to spit bubbles instead. A platform action arcade game that was ported to many home systems, the version released on the Nintendo Entertainment System is available on the Wii's Virtual Console service and shows off just how well its hectic, points-hoarding gameplay has aged.

You play as dragons Bub and Bob and set out to the "Cave of Monsters" to rescue your girlfriends. How to do this is simple: Travel through self-contained rooms with platforms and mean critters strewn about, trap each one of these finds in bubbles, and burst said bubbles. Once every enemy in a room has been taken care of, you're transported to the next stage. You've got a large arsenal of power-ups at your disposal: candies that affect how you launch your bubbles; special bubbles that release torrents of water, flames, or thunder; and spell books that unleash screen-clearing magic.

Despite the friendly mechanics, Bubble Bobble requires technique to master. You'll have to learn how to "ride" bubbles floating around the rooms in order to reach out-of-the-way platforms and enemies. You also have to take into account each room's "current," which forces bubbles to float about in different patterns at different speeds. Some of the more difficult stages will force every bubble into a corner at high speeds, popping them after only a short while. Wait too long to clear a room, and a ghastly, invincible White Beluga will chase you until you lose a life or finish the level. But the inviting controls make this all intuitive to pick up, and you'll appreciate the sense of accomplishment that comes with riding a wave of bubbles to snare that last, troublesome twerp hiding in the corner just before the White Beluga catches you.

There's also satisfaction to be had when you become more efficient at clearing rooms. Settling for trapping enemies and then popping their bubbles individually is all well and good. However, because you can burst an entire cluster of bubbles at once, the real catharsis comes when you take out every monster in the room at the same time: Just trap each one and then carefully push them all together. The result is a gleeful explosion that sends your enemies flying every which way, leaving behind delicious goodies to grab. Each of these many pickups is worth different numbers of points--putting you that much closer to earning extra lives. The more monsters you knock out at once, the bigger your immediate point reward--and the more you'll litter the playfield with ice cream cones, popsicles, fruits, vegetables, necklaces, baubles, rings, diamonds, crystals, and parasols. In Bubble Bobble's two-player mode, cooperation quickly becomes a hectic competition to see who can grab more loot.

The accessible, addictive gameplay makes Bubble Bobble great fun for everyone, though those with an aversion to sweets might balk at Bubble Bobble's sugary presentation. Every character is drawn in an overly colorful, cute, wacky fashion. The music that plays throughout is a single, perpetually chipper ditty that could use some changing up once in a while. Still, the visuals and audio are hard not to love--as is Bubble Bobble as a whole.

At 500 Wii points, the 99 completely unique rooms, huge variety of pickups, enemies, and power-ups, and simple yet skillful gameplay make downloading this game a no-brainer. If you have a beating heart, this game is one whose cheeks you'll want to pinch over and over again.

Max Payne 3 for PC Full Version Free Download

2012-07-13T07:52:00.002-07:00

Max Payne 3 for PC
Max Payne 3 is a third-person shooter in which the player assumes the role of its titular character, Max Payne. Max Payne 3 will feature the over-the-shoulder zoom aiming and cover mechanics. However, these will just serve as garnish to the game's classic run-and-gun shooting. Max Payne 3 will also make return of bullet-time in action sequences, which the franchise is notable for. In bullet time it will be possible to see every bullet make a hole in your foes. A "Last Man Standing" mechanic, which gives Max a reprieve from death for a small period if he has one painkiller on him. If the player is able fill the enemy that delivered the wounding shot with bullets he'll recover enough energy to soldier on.

Max Payne 3 retains the shoot-dodge mechanic from the previous games. Max will also be able to stay grounded after a dive, which enables him to shoot 360 degrees around. Rockstar has blended physics and animation, so that when Max dives around, he does so appropriately according to his surroundings. Through advanced utilization of the Euphoria physics engine, shooting and killing enemies in Max Payne 3 will look noticeably more realistic than in any preceding Rockstar games as well.

New to the series are cinematic action movements, essentially interactive cut-scenes. Max must for example leap off a factory balcony, grab hold of a crane's hook and shoot at a crowd of thugs while swinging around in slo-mo. Should a thug get too close, Max can throw a few elbows and feet around to disarm and kill them in one crunching blow.
[edit] Multi player

The game's online multiplayer features maps and modes that dynamically change within a match, as well as reward, ranking and clan systems.

Properties Of Poly Solar Panel

2012-07-12T23:46:00.000-07:00

Polycrystalline Silicon Solar Cells

Polycrystalline silicon, also known as polysilicon (p-Si) and multi-crystalline (mc-Si), started appearing on the market in 1981. Somewhere around 45% of today’s solar panels are made of this type of silicon. Polycrystalline silicon is not made with the Czochralski process as its precursor is. Instead, raw silicon is melted and poured into a square mold, which when cooled can be cut into perfectly square wafers.

Advantages

1: The process we use to make polycrystalline silicon (described above) is simpler and cost less. Since the wafers already are square, there is also less waste than with monocrystalline. Therefore, polycrystalline solar panels cost less.

2: Polycrystalline solar panels have higher heat tolerance than those made of monocrystalline silicon. Temperatures affect performance of a solar panel and can also reduce its lifetime. However, most monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels come with a the same warrant of 25 years these days.

3: Tend to perform better than mono crystalline at high temperatures.

Disadvantages

1: Solar panels made of polycrystalline silicon are not as efficient as mono crystalline silicon since the silicon is less pure. Lower heat tolerance also contributes negatively on the efficiency rates.

2: However, the technology is constantly improving. Polycrystalline silicon panels are getting closer to the efficiency rates of mono crystalline silicon.

3: Therefore, you need to cover a larger surface to output the same electrical power as you would with a solar panel made of monocrystalline silicon.

4: Some people think that monocrystalline and thin film solar panels looks better since they have a uniform color compared to the speckled blue aspect of polycrystalline silicon.

Poly Solar Panel Pics

Properties Of Mono Solar Panel

2012-07-12T23:40:00.001-07:00

Mono crystalline Silicon Solar Cells

Solar cells made of monocrystalline silicon, also called single-crystalline silicon (sc-Si), are quite easily recognizable by an external even coloring and uniform look, indicating high silicon-purity, as you can see on the picture below:

Another good way to seperate mono- and polycrystalline solar panels is that the polycrystalline solar cells are perfectly square. Monocrystalline solar cells are made out of silicon wafers, which comes in cylinders. To optimize performance and lower costs of a single solar panel, the cylinder wafers a chunk of their edges squared away, resulting in the characteristic look you can see above.

Advantages

1: Since monocrystalline is of the highest grade of silicon-purity, solar panels made of it are the most efficient. The efficiency rate (how much of the energy in the form of sunlight is converted to electricity) usually end up somewhere between 12-19%.

2: Another way of saying high efficiency is space-efficient. Since monocrystalline silicon panels yield the highest power outputs, they also require the least amount of space to achieve a desired capacity compared to the other types. Monocrystalline silicon panels usually has somewhere between 60 and 72 solar cells, the equivalent to an output of 120-300 Wp (watt-peak).

3: Monocrystalline solar panels tend to last longest and the majority of the manufacturers put a 25-year warranty on them.

Usually performs better than a similarly rated polycrystalline solar panel at lower light and lower temperature conditions.

Disadvantages

1: Monocrystalline solar panels are the most expensive. From a financial standpoint, if you have sufficient space, you should choose a solar panel that is made of polycrystalline or amorphous silicon.

2: If the panel is partially covered with shade, dirt or snow, the entire circuit is broken. If you are not using micro-inverters, this could mean that the entire array with solar panels takes a big hit performance-wise.

3: To make monocrystalline silicon, we have to grow large cylindrical ingots with the Czochralski process. Due to the geometry of these ingots, monocrystalline silicon cells are not entirely square, and significant amounts of the silicon ends up as waste.

4: Monocrystalline solar panels are more efficient in cold weather, but as the temperature increases, the electrical conversion rates goes down.

Which Solar Panel Type Is Best? Mono , Polycrystalline OR Thin Film

2012-07-11T05:09:00.008-07:00

Which Solar Panel Type is Best?

You are thinking about purchasing solar panels, but got confused about which type to go for? You’re at the right place. There’s a myriad of variables that you should take into account when you are buying a photovoltaic (PV) system.

In this article, I’m going to go through the different types of solar panels for residential and commercial use (mono-, polycrystalline and thin film). Which one would be the better choice in your particular situation depends on a whole host of variables. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of our experts:

Let’s first take a look at the different types of solar panels currently on the market, list their benefits and downsides, and then look at a few typical scenarios where certain types would be the better than others (hopefully one of them resonates with you).

Crystalline Silicon (c-Si)

Almost 90% of the World’s photovoltaics today are based on some variation of crystalline silicon. The main difference of these PV-cells is the purity of the silicon. What exactly do I mean by silicon-purity? To answer short, the silicon molecules are arranged in a specific way to enhance sunlight-to-electricity conversion (the photovoltaic effect).

As a general rule of thumb, purity and efficiency goes hand in hand, but the processes used to increase the purity of silicon is expensive. This means that a higher efficiency solar panel not necessarily has the lowest cost per rated power. Crystalline silicon is used in mono- and polycrystalline solar cells today:

Mono crystalline Silicon Solar Cells

Advantages

3: Monocrystalline solar panels tend to last longest and the majority of the manufacturers put a 25-year warranty on them.

Usually performs better than a similarly rated polycrystalline solar panel at lower light and lower temperature conditions.

Disadvantages

4: Monocrystalline solar panels are more efficient in cold weather, but as the temperature increases, the electrical conversion rates goes down.

Sahi Bukhari In Urdu (All Volumes) Enter Hadees No. to Find Hadees

2012-07-04T23:32:00.004-07:00

Assalam-o-Alaikum,

We are pleased to be able to provide the English,Urdu and Many More Translations of Sahih Bukhari.

Sahih Bukhari is a collection of sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), also known as the Sunnah. The reports of the Prophet's (saw) sayings and deeds are called ahadeeth. Imam Bukhari lived a couple of centuries after the Prophet's (saw) death and worked extremely hard to collect his ahadeeth. Each report in his collection was checked for compatibility with the Qur'an, and the veracity of the chain of reporters had to be painstakingly established. Bukhari's collection is recognized by the overwhelming majority of the Muslim world to be one of the most authentic collections of the Sunnah of the Prophet(pbuh).

Bukhari (full name Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ismail bin Ibrahim bin al-Mughira al-Ja'fai) was born in 194 A.H. and died in 256 A.H. His collection of hadeeth is considered second to none. He spent sixteen years compiling it, and ended up with 2,602 hadeeth (9,082 with repetition). His criteria for acceptance into the collection were amongst the most stringent of all the scholars of ahadeeth.

Sahih Bukhari is divided into nine volumes, each of which has several books. Each book contains many ahadeeth. The ahadeeth are numbered consecutively per volume. The books really only serve to group ahadeeth together, but the volumes impose the numbering.

Commandos Beyond The Call of Duty PC Game Full Version Free Download with Codes

2012-06-03T10:42:00.004-07:00

Commandos 2: Beyond the Call of Duty

Beyond the Call of Duty ends up feeling like a shadow of its former self, being both shorter and more frustrating than the original.

Just about every good game gets an expansion pack or a sequel, not just because it's profitable, but because it's easy. The good idea's already there, and the existing technology can be recycled to make a game that feels comfortably familiar but with new and exciting content. Recent expansion packs like Starcraft: Brood War, as well as sequels like Myth II and Fallout 2, all bettered their predecessors. But Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty, a standalone expansion to Behind Enemy Lines, ends up feeling like a shadow of its former self, being both shorter and more frustrating than the original.

The original Commandos was a surprise hit. It cleverly combined strategy, puzzle, and action elements with great graphics and an all-too-apt subject matter, and while there was some debate over just what kind of game it was trying to be, most found its demand for planning and precision to be both unusual and exciting.

At a glance, Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty is more of the same, with a few new bells and whistles. But the fact is, you can have too much of a good thing. The original Commandos was a great game because each member of the squad was highly specialized. A couple of them, the Green Beret and the spy, ended up doing most of the work, but that was OK, because the others like the marine and the sapper got their moments in the spotlight. In Beyond the Call of Duty, though, each character gains the ability to throw a stone or toss a pack of cigarettes as a means of distracting the unassuming enemy. Likewise, every commando can now force a captured nazi to do his bidding, so long as the hostage remains within the range of the commando's sidearm. The hostage can be used to distract his comrades, so that one of your squad can sneak past or sneak in for the kill. These new abilities are fairly interesting, but the fact that every commando has them clouds the sense that your soldiers are working as unique and complementary components of some perfectly tuned machine. The commandos' roles become less clear, and with that, some of the game's appeal slips away.

It also doesn't help that the game is even more difficult than the first. It's tempting to justify the excessive difficulty by the fact that the game contains only eight missions (the original had more than twice as many), but that would be a solution to the wrong problem. Besides, nobody complained that the original Commandos was too easy - all of its missions were difficult, though some were far more difficult than others. Nevertheless, all its missions could eventually be completed so long as you were patient, and the game didn't get too frustrating because each mission could be reduced to a series of smaller situations, and you'd rarely get stuck at any one point for too long. On the other hand, Beyond the Call of Duty starts out frustrating and just stays there. These missions don't just seem difficult, but downright unfair. In the first mission, if you don't save a sniper rifle round until the very last point, you probably won't be able to clear the minefield and escape; and there's no real way to anticipate this eventuality, so if somebody didn't warn you, you'd end up having to restart.

At other times, there are so many enemy troops patrolling an area that it doesn't seem like there's an appropriate way of resolving the situation. You'll wonder what would happen if maybe you threw the cigarettes, the stone, and used the decoy all at the same time, while a hostage distracted everybody.... But unfortunately, much like the first game, Beyond the Call of Duty's interface doesn't easily lend itself to multitasking, since the commandos are slow to respond and need to be micromanaged. You absolutely must coordinate your troops in this game, but it isn't any easier than before, no thanks to the fact that all the keyboard hotkeys were shifted around. (While the new layout is a little more logical than the original's, it's inexplicable why the designers didn't just let you customize the keyboard layout.) So the control feels more cumbersome than before, since you need especially impeccable timing and coordination, but the interface won't allow it. And even when you finally get through a mission, you won't feel very good about it since you won't be able to shake the feeling that you've figured out something the designers didn't expect you to. The original Commandos was satisfying because its puzzle-like situations had specific solutions. These missions feel clumsier by comparison, requiring at least as much luck as finesse, although the maps themselves all look distinctly beautiful.

On the other hand, maybe the problem is the awful new voice-acting. The original Commandos had a problem with repetitive speech, and that problem lingers in Beyond the Call of Duty. Only now, not only does every one of your troops say the same thing over and over, but every last one of them sounds ridiculous. At least there's good musical accompaniment during each mission, of the appropriate symphonic military variety. Meanwhile, the game's packaging gives top billing to a new female commando "seductress," whose inclusion raises numerous concerns, not the least of which is the fact that she is touted as a key feature yet doesn't even play a significant role in the game.

In spite of everything, it's inaccurate to say that Beyond the Call of Duty is far worse than the original. If anything, the two games are difficult to distinguish, so fans of the original will enjoy Beyond the Call of Duty because of its inherent similarity to its predecessor. And to be fair, there are certain subtle new twists to this game that add strategic depth, such as the spy's ability to wear several types of uniforms. But at the same time, most of the subtle changes have adverse effects and make Beyond the Call of Duty feel like more of the same in the worst kind of way.

Prince of Persia Warrior Within PC Game Full Version Free Download

2012-06-03T10:13:00.003-07:00

Prince of Persia:

Warrior Within is a video game and sequel to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Warrior Within was developed and published by Ubisoft, and released on December 2, 2004 for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Microsoft Windows. It picks up where The Sands of Time left off, adding new features, specifically, options in combat. The Prince now has the ability to wield two weapons at a time as well as the ability to steal his enemies' weapons and throw them. The Prince's repertoire of combat moves has been expanded into varying strings that allow players to attack enemies with more complexity than was possible in the previous game.

Warrior Within has a darker tone than its predecessor adding in the ability for the Prince to dispatch his enemies with various finishing moves. In addition to the rewind, slow-down, and speed-up powers from The Sands of Time, the Prince also has a new sand power: A circular "wave" of sand that knocks down all surrounding enemies, it is the first "Prince of Persia" game to be rated M by the ESRB.

Total Overdose PC Game Full Version Free Download

2012-06-02T00:11:00.001-07:00

Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico
Action game fans ought to be able to settle in and blast their ways through Total Overdose's relatively brief campaign with reasonable levels of enjoyment. Just be prepared for one extremely cheesy ride.
Rarely has a game reveled in its own crapulence the way that Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico does. Taking the concept of a stylish, violent third-person shooter to the height of hyperactive instability, Total Overdose is an all-out celebration of all things gun. Bullets fly with reckless abandon, bodies pile up to an almost alarming degree, and all the while you're pulling off the kinds of acrobatic maneuvers that would make Keanu Reeves say, "Woah." Of course, it's also all been done before. From playing Total Overdose, you get the feeling that the developers at Deadline Games had an awful lot of affection for the Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne games and that they may have watched one too many Robert Rodriguez movies late at night. That's because the main character plays just like Max Payne, the world around him operates just like the one in Grand Theft Auto, and the storyline plays out like a script Rodriguez might have written early in his career, before he knew what he was doing. Because it's made up of so many familiar parts, action game fans ought to be able to settle in and blast their ways through Total Overdose's relatively brief campaign with reasonable levels of enjoyment. Just be prepared for one extremely cheesy ride, and to sift through a few serious flaws as well.
The story of Total Overdose is cut from the kind of heavy-on-the-gunplay, light-on-the-drama cloth made famous in 1980s-era action films. Ramiro Cruz is an ex-convict and all-around screwup. His twin brother works for the DEA. Ramiro's twin is injured while working undercover, right as he's about to get in with some rather powerful drug lords down in Mexico. In a twist that plays like a vaquero movie version of the Anthony Hopkins/Chris Rock vehicle Bad Company, Ramiro is brought in to replace his brother so he can get in with the shady dealers. About a billion bullets, bodies, and busts later, you're dealing with crooked DEA agents, big-time drug deals, and a revenge plot about who really killed Ramiro's former-DEA-agent father. None of this means a thing, mind you. The plot here is merely a vehicle for you to get out and start shooting things. What little storyline exists here is largely turned irrelevant by the incredibly cheesy voice acting and writing, so there's no real opportunity to care about any of these people. But that suits the game just fine, since you'll be too busy killing everybody to bother caring about them.

What makes Total Overdose more than just another dull shoot-'em-up is the ludicrousness of its action. There isn't a kilo of realism to be found anywhere in this game...a fact flaunted at every opportunity by the insane acrobatic moves Ramiro can pull off for seemingly no reason other than because they're fun. Like Max Payne, Ramiro can shoot-dodge in bullet time while pumping tons of rounds into bad guys within a split second's time, all the while bouncing off walls and spinning around like a man possessed. These moves all play into a points rating that judges the different maneuvers you pull off and earns you points you'll need to complete missions. It's a neat system, but it's hindered by the most obnoxious aspect of the game, which (oddly enough) is the naming system for said moves. Moves are named the cheesiest things possible, like "Gringo loco!" and the oft-repeated "Spicy move!" In fact, you'll hear the words "spicy move" so often throughout the game that after a while a small piece of you will die inside every time it's uttered.
Thankfully, the basic shooting is reasonably satisfying. You're given plenty of different weapons with varying degrees of effectiveness. Fully automatic guns pump more rounds, but they also lack accuracy. Pistols are accurate, but they lack punch. Assault rifles tend to offer the best of both worlds. Rocket and grenade launchers? Well, you can imagine the level of destruction they inflict. If there's any complaint to be made here, it's that you often get the short shrift on ammo. There are upgrades you can earn throughout to give each gun type more available ammo. But even then, in a game this silly--where it's all about highly unrealistic action--you'd think the developer might have been a touch more generous with the ammunition. As it is, it's far too easy to run out of ammo for all guns very quickly, forcing you to constantly run around to pick up weapons off fallen enemies, which can be a risky affair in the middle of a firefight.

Ramiro can also earn a number of wacky special moves that border on comedic. Simply press a button and one of several select moves will occur, ranging from a kooky jumping spin move with dual Uzis blazing, to the appearance of an angry Mexican wrestler who will aid you by attacking any nearby enemies. Don't question it, because you'll absolutely despise this game if you try to put much thought into it. If you're willing to roll with the crazy Mexican wrestlers, the exploding piñatas, and the move called "El Mariachi," which straight-up gives you the Antonio Banderas-style "guns in the guitar cases" from the titular Robert Rodriguez film (though they should have called it "Desperado," since that's the actual film the move is from), Total Overdose can be a hysterical romp (though often unintentionally so).
Don't expect Total Overdose to be an especially challenging piece of work though, because it fails miserably in this regard. The enemy artificial intelligence borders on damaged. Bad guys will sometimes run around in circles, shooting at nothing in particular, or they'll get stuck in parts of the scenery. The only time they're at all hard is when there are just too many of them, and even then you can enact the game's "rewind" feature to just reverse time back a few seconds to avoid whatever bullet killed you a moment ago. Ramiro's special moves can also be abused to almost depressing levels. All it takes is one bout of El Mariachi to blow away just about any boss, without taking any damage yourself. Not that you need to cheat like this, since most bosses can be beaten just as easily with some nifty shoot dodging, but even still, exploits like this are prevalent throughout the game.
Total Overdose's Grand Theft Auto inspirations come from the vision of Mexico that the developer has created for you to play around in. The city you work in is largely open-ended, with plenty of pedestrians, ancillary traffic, buildings, and multiple locales, which unfortunately can't be jumped to without some load times. Additionally, these locations are also often difficult to find, since the in-game map is absolute garbage. As you wander around, you can look around for hidden bonuses and items, or you can just shoot the hell out of anyone who crosses your path. Unlike in GTA, though, there are really no consequences for your actions. Some cops might show up, but that's as far as it escalates, which effectively turns the process into a pretty dull affair. You get your missions by driving to icons located on the aforementioned terrible map, though it's at least good enough to denote the difference between a story mission and a side mission.
Side missions are mostly secondary and optional, though there are a few instances where you'll be required to do one or two side missions before the next story mission is available. Most of these are pretty simple "kill everyone in sight," checkpoint race, or "blow up a few burrito carts filled with cocaine" types of things, but they're fun enough for what they need to be. The story missions are longer and much more involved, often with multiple sections and plenty of heavy combat against drug runners, border patrol officers, and just about anyone else who might cross your path. The game is absolutely rife with save points, though, so you'll almost never find yourself having to repeat a lengthy section of the game. However, in the rare instance that you do, it's super-annoying.

There are also plenty of vehicles in the game, and they easily represent the least fun you'll have with any aspect of the gameplay. The cars handle in a very squirrelly manner, like the General Lee on a greased hockey rink or something. Fortunately, apart from the occasional checkpoint race, it's rare that you'll have to drive for more than a short distance. Often, cars are simply an optional means to an end, rather than a required piece of equipment for a mission. That's good, because if you had to drive for long bouts with these absolutely atrocious driving physics, you'd break the disc in half before you got anywhere near the end of the game.
Total Overdose certainly has style, but this isn't a particularly good-looking game. The character models are drab and blocky, and they don't animate as smoothly as they ought to. The rare exceptions are the style moves, but even they can be occasionally weird-looking. The cities are better-looking, and there are plenty of colorful set pieces decorating the background. However, the things going on in the background are frequently ugly. People dive out of the way of cars that aren't anywhere near them, cars will sometimes drive onto pieces of the scenery and get stuck there, and all manner of other little crazy glitches will go on--especially if you're involved in gunplay. The three versions of the game are all comparable, with only the PlayStation 2's lackluster frame rate setting it a notch or two lower than the rest. The PC game also does have a tendency to chug a bit, but it's marginal at most.
The game's sound manages to be both better and worse all at once. The voice acting, as mentioned before, is awful, though perhaps intentionally so. All the dialogue is terribly cheesy, and the actors ham it up to the nth degree. The credits list a number of Latino actors as playing the parts here, but most of them overdo the accents and slang so ludicrously that it all sounds forced and poorly stereotyped. However, the soundtrack is, in a word, tough. Featuring a smattering of songs from Latino rap group Delinquent Habits and Mexico City rap-metal group Molotov, the music complements the hard-edged tone of the game perfectly. What's more, a number of action sequences kick in with random bits of traditional flamenco guitars and upbeat mariachi tunes. Surprisingly, the jauntiness of these tracks sets a delightfully comedic contrast to the shooting, and it just plain works. The sound effects for the weapons, explosions, and whatnot are all effective enough, so you won't get any shortage of thunderous booms and bullet-riddled screams throughout the experience.
Total Overdose is one of those games that presents a conundrum. Most people shouldn't buy it, as it's far too short, too patently ridiculous, and too weak outside of its combat to be worth the money. Conversely, the game's utterly ludicrous nature makes for a fairly entertaining ride at times, and the shooting can be quite fun. Shooter fans on the hunt for something brainless and easy, but with lots of stylish gunplay, should certainly rent Total Overdose just to see how bananas the whole thing is. Those with slightly more-discerning tastes ought to just leave well enough alone and look elsewhere for their needs.
