AC165 - New AnnaBelle Colour Challenge

We have a fun colour challenge to play along with this week, and I actually like the colours, although it was a little difficult putting them in to action!

I still had my Garden Silhouettes set out, along with all the Distress Inks from the video I made the other day (I know, messy!!)! Sometimes I just don't get time to put everything I get out, away lol!

I punched a partial semi circle out of a post-it-note and placed it on my square, then topped with another post-it-note that ran the full width of my square and started adding my colour to the sky. You can just make out that part of the circle site below the horizon line. I did this to give a bit of a reflection look in the water :)

Friday Feature - Blog Hop!

Hello all, it's Friday again already and time for another weekend...and Friday Feature! This week we are doing a Blog Hop which of course means a prize, and the set we are showcasing is Garden Silhouettes! Hi all! I won't linger too long on explaining why I am this week 1 hour late or I'll be even later!! This week the challenge is to grab a previous sketch (you'll find them all HERE), try a new one or choose one you've done before and create!

I based my card very loosely on sketch #153 :

I stamped the 'newspaper' background from BBD6 the stamped Designer Flowers (back in stock very soon!!).

I also used the colours from CQC191 :

Topical Tuesday #68 - Distressed Tag

Hi all! It was my turn this week to create the Topical Tuesday for the ABS blog, and once again I wasn't sure what I'd do, so I went in search for inspiration and ended up on the Moxie Fab World blog and found a tag challenge! I love tags, so I really don't know why I don't make more!!

Here it is :

I coloured the image with Prismacolor Pencils then fussy cut her out. I made the tag then distressed, stamped, ran it through a crimper and sponged a bit more! You can see the full video on the ABS blog HERE or Youtube HERE :) A little bit of twine and some pearls to complete it. I'm not sure about the Mustard Seed yellow...I did start out with just Scattered Straw and I think maybe I should've stuck with it lol! Hope you enjoy the video :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day everyone, mum's or not, we all do 'motherly' things, and I hope you all had a wonderful day! I had to quickly make a card yesterday for my MIL before we went across to visit yesterday. So in between going to soccer with Nathan, setting the church up for an afternoon wedding, having lunch and driving to Bendigo, I made this card. A huge thank you to Marion for her gorgeous Topical Tuesday last week because I had the card idea already to go!

I've used Marion's sketch as well but flipped it around. I was very cautious on how much water to spray and would've perhaps added a little more if I'd had time to do a couple of samples first...but it just wasn't going to happen yesterday! The set I've used is Designer Flowers which will be back in stock as soon as I've received samples of new sets and approved their production. Due to the cost of shipping I need to keep everything until I can make one order :)

I had to colour Lil Monster in so I matched his body to the kraft cardstock and it's not one of the colours listed, but I came close...2 challenges in one is pretty good for me lol! I don't know how people do several at once, I'd get very confused!!

Friday Feature - All Things Grow

It's Friday! I love Friday nights, they just seem so relaxing :) And I love Friday nights in winter because that means homemade soup and pizza! I know it's not quite winter, but I'd have soup all year round lol!

It's been a little while since I used what has long been one of my favourite sets, but I wanted to use it simply tonight and since the Paper Players had a one layer card challenge up it was perfect timing!!

I punched a single square in a post-it-note and then hoped I spaced and aligned them evenly...I think I came pretty close! I only had a short time to pull this together as I'd totally forgotten that I needed to do a card for tonight!!

So did it come together OK?? I even resisted Sprinkles to keep it truly one layer :)

Hi all!! I'm running just a little behind schedule tonight but I've caught up now! I won't bore you with why I'm late, but I hope you enjoy the new challenge :)

This week it's a new sketch we have to play along with :

For my card I've used Inktense Pencils and randomly coloured with three colours and then taking a wide brush blended them. I masked the centre then diluted some gesso with water and painted in on around the edges leaving the centre more vibrant.

Once dry I masked the outer edges then stamped an image from the new Designer Flowers set (back in stock in a few weeks) and outlined the rectangle with pencil. Very simple but I hope effective :)

I think I've said (many times before) I love blue and green and I seem to reach for them all the time!

For my card, and because I was naughty in missing last weeks challenge, I thought I'd play catch up with the colour challenge :)

And while I was searching for more inspiration I came across the sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch and it couldn't have been more perfect for this set!!

So here's my card :)

To start I coloured my image with Copics and then shaded with Prismacolor pencils. The background was quickly swiped with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink and then splattered with water and pierced around the edge. Everything is raised with dimensional foam.

The Ripe Persimmon is a little more orange than watermelon, but it's close enough I think :)

Topical Tuesday #57 - Mixed Media Journal

Hi all, I'm so glad you could pop in tonight for AnnaBelle Stamps next edition of Topical Tuesday! This week I've started my very first art journal! I decided after cleaning up my office and moving so many cards I've made that I needed another way to create and collect less! So I purchased a 'few' journals to see which one I'd like to use, but I will be giving one of them away for someone within Australia that would like to take the plunge and try a bit of mixed media too! I like this one because when I have the confidence I can decorate the kraft cover!

Topical Tuesday #56 - Mixed Media Card

Hi all! I'm the host again this week for the AnnaBelle Topical Tuesday! Here's a little sneak peek of the card I made...

This is for a friend to give to her Mum and it was very special for me to do because today is my Mum's anniversary...it's been 6 years since she left us, and I still miss her friendship and love :) It's a double wammy for my family this week because it's also Dad's anniversary on Friday, and I write this with a smile because I know they are together :)

Friday Feature

It's Friday! What a great day to end the working week on lol! I love having everyone home over the weekend, and the different routine :)

Today is Feature Friday on the AnnaBelle Blog and this week we are not only showcasing the new Easter sets just released, but also have a very special offer just for this weekend! I have a confession with my card today....I didn't actually make it today, I had it left over from the release (luckily!) because I just ran out of time! I went for my usual walk and coffee after dropping the boys to school then went on to an annual prayer service called the World Day of Prayer, this year hosted by France. I hadn't been before but it was lovely to think that we were joined in with so many all around the world in an ecumenical service.

So here's my very CAS card!

I'll get myself in to gear tomorrow and come up with something else, but for now have a wonderful weekend!

Simply Saturday

Hi all! It's Saturday stamping time and I have loved having time to do it! This coming week is promising rain for us and I have all my fingers crossed that we get it so I don't have to water trees...I just want to play in the rain (in my craft room of course!)!

Masculine is a tough one for me, so I kept it very simple and simply chose a colour that could be considered masculine, but really suits all!

It's a Monster kind of feeling!

Hello all on this fabulous Shrove Tuesday! I'm about to make some pancakes, because I love pancakes, and because I have no other baking done and these are super quick!

Let's take 2! It's now Wednesday (Ash Wednesday) and I'm still going with this post lol!

I started a card on the weekend which I coloured with pencils and then decided to make another and before I knew it the weekend was over and I still hadn't photographed or posted my cards! I used one of the latest Australian magazines :) Did you also see that Janelle Graham featured on the front cover of Simply Cards with AnnaBelle Stamps!!! It's super cool Janelle!

Here's Lil Monster in all his grey glory lol!

It's really hard for me to be light fingered with colouring, I tend to want to keep adding more which you'll see in the next card, Lil Monster definitely has more grey shading!

I loved getting my pencils out, and I loved colouring because it seems like ages since I have when really it probably hasn't been! I have 21st cards to do so will have to think of something different for those, as well as make some projects for our February release this Friday night! Now tell me, where did that month go???

Hi all and welcome to AnnaBelle's Friday challenge! This week we have a colour combo for you to play with that's a little bit of fun!

I decided to go very simple and combined our colour challenge with the sketch over at Retro Sketches..

...and came up with this card :

I swiped three strips of card with Distress Inks - Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass & Spiced Marmalade - adhered them to another strip and stamped the small heart from Love Birds using Versamark.

The sentiment is from the same set and I coloured the heart with a Copic marker. Added the 3 Sprinkles in Grape, Waterfall & Pumpkin and tied some Turquoise twine before adhering the sentiment with dimensional foam.

Done!

I hope I have more time tomorrow to just play, I'd love to do some colouring, but I just don't know where my days are going lol!
