PUBG Battleground back in India. The popular battle royale game is finally making a comeback with a new name known as Battlegrounds Mobile India. Krafton has finally revealed that it will launch the new game for the Indian market pretty soon.

The battle royale game will be the successor to the PUBG Mobile and is successful in India. The company has revealed that this game will be only available in India with certain rules and restrictions and feature localised content to connect more with the local audience.

The pre-registration of the Battlegrounds Mobile India has finally begun. The game is now listed on the Google Play Store for pre-registration. Players who pre-register for the game are eligible to get special rewards. Krafton has revealed the list of special rewards that it would give to the pre-registered players. These include a Recon Mask, the Recon Outfit, Celebration Expert Title and 300 AG. The rewards will be specifically for the Indian players only. In order to pre-register for the game, one needs to visit Google Play Store and go to the battleground mobile India App and click on the ‘Pre-Register’ button. Furthermore, if a player does not take consent from the parents, they can ask the developers to delete all the child’s information from their system.

They disclose that the players under this age will only be able to play the game for a maximum of three hours per day and can only spend INR 7000 daily while using the paid service.

Introduction:

Before going into the deep study of "Data Science with Statistics", first let's understand the meaning of Statistics. "Statistics is a branch of applied mathematics that involves the collection, description, analysis, and inference of conclusions from quantitative data".

We can do a lot with the data like analysing, predicting, and so on. The most important thing is choosing the model that should be suitable for both the business problem and the data. For some budding statisticians, they will have confusion on which model suits on which data for the general analysis. Here, I am sharing some key points, where to use the adequate model. Before getting into the modeling part, first, we get some information about the basics of statistical terms.

Recently everyone is talking about Data. After hearing the word “Data” the basic questions that arise in our minds are,

What is Data?

How Data is collected?

How Data can be analyzed?

How Data is interpreted?

To answer all these questions, the term “Statistics” is used. Statistics is the basic and important tool to deal with the data. Now coming to the important parts of statistics, it involves the collection, descriptive, analysis and concludes the data.

What I mean as the basic statistical terms are Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive.

Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive Statistics:

In the Descriptive model, the values or data with converted to a diagrammatic representation. This makes the statistician or the audience, understand the overall view of the dataset. After getting the idea about the data, we can proceed to the main appropriate model. Not going to make any changes in the data but converting to a diagrammatic representation and the data is as it is.

Predictive, as the name defines, we are going to predict something with the data we hold. The keyword that needs to pop, when you see something related to predictive is “How much/ How many”. The expectation of something is on the term predictive. In some business problem, we can frame the keyword as, how much the profit will be in next week? Or how many products can be expected to sell next month? We should analyse the business situations and bring out solutions. Unlike Descriptive, Predictive needs some effort.

Prescriptive is the next phase of Predictive. Rather than stopping at “How much? Or How many?”, we can further develop with the question, “How to make something happen?”. For instance, to increase our sales, What we can do? Or What we can do to innovate the product? Or What are the possible ways to achieve the customer’s needs? This prescriptive type of model comes under the suggestion category. Giving suggestions is not that much easier as we think. Of course, a lot of work and analysis should be taken part for giving the worthful suggestion. Prescriptive is the most important part.

Model or Analysis:

Different types of data can be adopted with different types of statistical analysis. Some of the major models in statistics will be discussed here. In this article, let’s have some notes, only on the major model and when to use them.

We'll use simple statistics to analyse and interpret the results.

Correlation:

There will a finding between everything in the data world. Using the correlation technique is one of the ways for comparing and get how strongly one variable is related to the other variable. Correlation analysis helps in finding the relationship between two or more variables. Variables are nothing but factors. Correlation analysis works both in quantitative and qualitative data. Simply, the Correlation value lies between -1 and +1. How close the correlation value to +1, is that much strong positive correlation is present between the variables, and how close the correlation value to -1, is that much strong negative relationship between the variables. 0 defines no correlation between the variables/factors.

When one variable increases with the other variable, shows a positive correlation. (E.g., As sales increases profit will also increase). When one variable increases, the other tends to decrease, which is the negative correlation. (E.g., As employees work lazily, production decreases). This model sometimes also helps us in reducing the variable count. Like, we can choose the variable that has a strong relationship for doing more research. So, we can work with the really needed variables.

Regression:

Regression analysis is useful when we need to find the dependencies of one variable on the other. This will also work for qualitative and quantitative data. The regression value lies between 0 and +1. +1 defines the perfect fit and 0 defines no fitting at all. This gives us how well one variable is dependent on the other variable. Using the regression analysis, we can perform predictive modeling.

For example, a best educational institution is dependent on the qualified workers/employees, good environment, latest technology, etc., for such data we can prefer using the Regression analysis and this is a more appropriate model. This gives us how much a dependent variable is dependent on other independent variables. As per our example, the dependent variable is the institute and the independent variables are employees, environment, technology, etc. So, do you want to know how one variable is dependent on another, then one of the best options to go for is Regression.

Survival Analysis:

If the data contains time duration and some incident occurrence, we can go for survival analysis. Survival analysis is most useful in the clinical trial data and in product life expectancy (E.g., how much time will an expected incident takes to happen). The most common term used in the survival analysis is censoring and is one of the major problems in survival analysis. Censoring means missing complete information on the survival time (i.e., we have the information on duration but not complete information).

Survival analysis should have a bivariate variable. Considering industrial data, we will have the time period of how long a machine can work. The dataset will contain the time and whether the machine failed or not as an event. Here, the event will be denoted as 0 and +1. In this case, prefer Survival Analysis. When we talk about survival analysis, the value lies between 0 and +1, which is plotted with the time period. Using the plotted graph, we can interpret the data.

Depending on the data and business problem, choosing the analysis may vary. There are a lot of ways to do the analysis. But through statistics it becomes more easy to analyse, based on the output, drawing the inference is most important and is where more attention to be provided. There are two types of Statistics: Descriptive and Inferential Statistics.

In Descriptive Statistics, from the given observation the data is summarised. The data summarization takes place by considering the sample from the population using the mean or standard deviation.

There are four different categories in Descriptive Statistics. They are,

Measure of frequency

Measure of central tendency

Measure of dispersion

Measure of position

Based on the number of times a particular data has occurred defines the measure of frequency. The mean, median, mode, skewness of the respective data comes under the measure of central tendency.

The Measure of dispersion can be defined based on the Range, Standard Deviation variance, etc. Finally, based on the percentile and quartile the position is measured.

Then looking into Inferential Statistics, once the data is collected, tabulated, and analyzed the summary or the inference is derived by using inferential statistics. The inferences are drawn based upon sampling variation and observational error.

Based on the information and conclusion derived from the sample the inferential statistics help us to predict and estimate results for the population.

Google photos is soon going to come up with an advanced video editor tools and granual customization for Android Users.

This feature is already available for iPhone Users.

Photos is rolling out a new editor UI on Android that promises to make editing your photos a lot easier. And, yes, in addition to an improved editor UI, Google is also using machine learning to power a new smart suggestions to its users.

Google has added a “Suggestions” tab in the photo editing menu, which is capable of automatically applying edits to the photo you’re looking at. You can then make your own specifications, if you aren't satisfied with google photos suggestions or else, if you’re satisfied with Google’s machine learning-powered suggestion, save the changes.

Suggestions can automatically adjust aspects such as Enhance Beauty, Warm and Cool. There are also suggestions for Color Pop, which will turn the background of a photo black and white while keeping the subject in color.

Next is “Crop” to manually change the aspect ratio of your clip (either manually or through presets), rotate, and change perspective.

The “Adjust” tab lets you control: Brightness, Contrast, White point, Highlights, Shadows, Black point, Saturation, warmth, tint, skin tone, blue tone, pop and vignette.

“Filters” such as vivid, west, Palma, Metro, Eiffel, Blush, and many more and “More” includes editing the pic in SnapSeed, PicsArt, Gallery and whatever photo editing apps you have kept in your system.

Google said it will add even more suggestions to the Google Photos app on Pixel devices in the coming months.

In addition, Google detailed a new Portrait blur and Portrait Light feature coming to Google Photos for the new Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. This feature can automatically adjust the lighting on faces in portraits, or it can manually be adjusted. Google said Portrait Light can also be applied to photos that weren’t captured using Portrait mode or captured in your old phones with no portrait mode, but it’s only available on the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5, with availability coming to more Pixel devices soon.

How to use Portrait Blur?

With Portrait Blur, users can add a depth effect even to pictures that lack depth information. This includes photos that you took on earlier phones that did not have a dedicated portrait shot mode or lens. Google Photos lets you add blur to such photos.

How to use Portrait Light?

Google Photos will allow you to easily adjust the lighting on your portrait photos. The app’s new editing interface lets you choose how shadows appear on your portrait shots, and which directions they face.

The new video editing features are already available in Google Photos on iOS and will be rolling out to Android users very soon. They'll also bring the redesigned editor to iOS devices in the coming months.

Snap Inc. has launched Spotlight in India, Mexico and Brazil, nearly four months after the short-video platform’s debut in 11 countries including US.

In 2020 & 2021, there are 229 million daily active Snapchat users worldwide. More than half of all U.S. Over 210 million snaps are created on Snapchat every day. ... With 53.5 million downloads, Snapchat is in the list of top 10 most popular apps worldwide.

The feature, which claims to have more than 100 million users as of January this year, surfaces 60-sec videos from its users in a dedicated vertical feed within the Snapchat app. The feed becomes more personalised, based on a user’s preferences and favourites.

Short-video space has boomed in India. After the ban of TikTok in June last year, dozens of short-video apps emerged —including Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, MX Player's TakaTak, Dailyhunt's Josh and Sharechat's Moj—filling the trend left behind by the Chinese platform i.e Tiktok in India.

The users would create the content using Snapchat’s camera tools & filters but they are allowed to post it some other platforms as well such as platforms like Youtube as well as Facebook.

What differentiates Spotlight from TikTok or Instagram Reels is that there are no public comments. Snap says this is done to protect users and ensure they don’t face harassment on the platform. Further, the lack of comments also means that creators will be spared from bullying or any other kind of harassment, which has become all too common on many platforms.

1. Tap your profile avatar at the top left of the Snapchat screen.

4. In the pop-up menu, choose the option you want - tap "Delete Snap," "Save Snap," or "Send Snap."

1. Tap your profile avatar at the top left of the Snapchat screen.

3. You should see the current status of your submission - if it has been accepted to Spotlight, it will say "Live."

Note: every snapchat spotlight created by you may not be submitted on the Spotlight page; your Snap will be reviewed by a moderator before the snap potentially appears on Spotlight.

Government launched the new 'Mera Ration' mobile app for Android Users that will help ration card holders to identify the nearest ration shops, and check details of the price of ration, your past transactions with ration card and know your entitlement.

The ‘Mera Ration’ Android App is launched to facilitate the ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ system in the country.

The new mobile app will help those ration card holders who move to new places for livelihoods. The app is currently available on the Android platform.

The scheme has proven to be of tremendous value-added service to each NFSA beneficiary during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially migrants, as it allowed them to avail the benefit of subsidised foodgrains.

What is National Food Security Act?

The One Nation One Ration Card system covers about 69 crore National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries in the country. Under National Food Security Act, the centre provides highly subsidised foodgrains at Rs 1-3 per kg to over 81 crore people through public distribution system (PDS).

It also provides ration card portability services ONORC (One Nation One Ration Card) in 32 states and union territories.

WHAT IS MERA RATION APP?

The 'Mera Ration' mobile app is introduced to help ration card holders benefit from the ONORC-related services. With this app, the beneficiaries will be able to identify the nearest fair price shop and check details of their entitlement and recent transactions.

The app developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is currently available in English and Hindi language. The government plans to avail the app in 14 different languages. Recently, NIC also built a Messaging App namely 'Sandes' for the safer side of our country so that our personal data is safe & secure and outsiders cannot take benefit out of it.

HOW TO USE 'MERA RATION' APP?

Follow simple steps to avail benefits:

1. First, head on to Google Play Store and type Mera Ration in the search bar

Download the Mera Ration app

2. Once downloaded, open the app on your mobile and register your ration card

3. To register, just tap on the Registration option, and enter your ration card number

4. After entering the ration card number press the Submit button

5. You can also check your entitlement by tapping on the ‘Know your entitlement option. To do so, you are required to either enter your Ration card/Aadhaar card number(whichever is specific for you)

6. The app also allows checking ONORC eligibility criteria. You can check the details by selecting the Eligibility Criteria option and filling your Ration card/Aadhar card number(whichever you want)

Upon registering, the system will automatically allocate the entitled foodgrains.

7. Also check neraby ration shops by just clicking on 'nearby ration shops' and then look into the shops nearest to you for taking in the required ration using your Ration Card.

8. You can also check your past 6 months transactions that you have took place using your Ration Card and the status of Aadhar Seeding.

The app will provide transparency to beneficiaries that they would no longer have to ask the FPS dealer as to how much ration he/she would get but can check their entitled subsidies directly on the app.

“The new mobile app aims to facilitate the ONORC-related services among beneficiaries of the NFSA, particularly migrant beneficiaries, fair price shop (FPS) or ration shop dealers and other stakeholders,” Sudhanshu Pandey, Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution said at the launch.

You also have a toll free helpline number to contact them if you face any issues with the same. You can also provide feedback/complaint if you face any issues in your nearby fair price shops. You can also provide feedback to the benefits of the application.

WhatsApp is enonimously working hard for bringing new features for its users back to back in 2021. It introduced with some new features which are unknowingly amazing. WhatsApp is all set to beat other messaging apps by rolling out new and amazing features such as the Disappearing Messages, WhatsApp Desktop App, Mute Video or edit video, Read later just like Archive Chats, Multi device support and the most awaited feature i.e 'Logout Feature'.

Features have come or yet to come in 2021:

1. WhatsApp Logout Feature:

The most awaited & amazing feature of whatsapp coming soon that allows users to login and logout anytime in WhatsApp. Especially, given the fact that users only have the choice to either uninstall the app or delete it if they want to take a short break from the app. The 'log out' feature is basic functionality that exists on a slew of other apps. Users will be able to logout from their phone and log in whenever they feel like.

The newly added feature will be available on both WhatsApp Messenger and Business versions.

As per the reports on WABetaInfo, "there will be a new option called Log out, that allows to unlink your device to the main WhatsApp account. At the moment the Log out option replaces Delete account on linked devices but their plans might change, moving/copying the option in the previous Linked devices section."

2. Multi-Device Support:

With this feature, WhatsApp users will be able to login to multiple devices at the same time. The feature is currently in development and was spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone. Currently, WhatsApp only supports two devices at the same time, namely a phone and a desktop.

The new multi-device support will reportedly allow users to add up to four devices on a single account. This means that once the feature gets rolled out, you will be able to log in from your iPad and iPhone at the same time, along with the desktop and mobile.

3. WhatsApp Desktop App:

It's one of the most-awaited feature on WhatsApp. Both the WhatsApp Web and the desktop apps for Windows and macOS are rumoured to get voice/ video calling support.

The feature will work the same way as messages sent/received on mobile. If you are using WhatsApp voice or audio calling from the web/desktop app, you can do so by WhatsApp Desktop App. Currently both features are available, you can send messages/files and also have voice/video calls to contacts using the social messaging's website and desktop app.

"Sometimes you just need a little more space. Secure and reliable, end-to-end encrypted voice and video calls are now available on our desktop app," the Facebook-owned messaging app tweeted.

4. Mute Video:

WhatsApp doesn't have the option to mute videos while sending video to other chats/groups or while putting it up on the status. But going forward, the social messaging app is expected to allow users with the option to mute video.

The mute video feature is still in the development stage and, as per a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, a speaker icon would be available on the left side, next to the duration and file size details of the video that a user want to share. In order to mute the video, the user will have to tap on the speaker icon, before sharing it with someone in their contacts, a group, or as a status.

5. Read Later:

'Read later' is said to be an improved version of the existing Archived Chats feature on WhatsApp. When a chat is moved to read later, WhatsApp won't send notifications for that chat. Additionally, the feature will include a 'vacation mode', which will ensure that the 'read later' chats work the same way as archived chats on the current stable version. 'Read later' will also come with an edit button for users to customise settings.

WhatsApp users will also be able to select multiple chats at once to quickly unarchive them.

6. Disappearing messages:

You can send messages that disappear on WhatsApp by enabling disappearing messages. Once enabled, new messages sent in the individual chat or group chat will disappear after seven days of not opening the chat again. The most recent selection controls all messages in the chat. This setting won’t affect messages you previously sent or received in the chat.

In an individual chat, either user can turn disappearing messages on or off. In a group chat, only group admins can turn disappearing messages on or off.

7. WhatsApp Stickers App:

WhatsApp users can use Sticker Maker to create stickers that can be downloaded on the app. Once you create stickers, the app will automatically convert them to a webp file and make them ready to be imported to WhatsApp.

Simply download the app, create a sticker pack and pick a video or gif from your camera roll. Sticker maker will automatically convert it to a webp file, ready to be imported to WhatsApp.

8. Self Destructing Photos:

As per a report by Wabetainfo, WhatsApp was spotted testing the self-destructing photos. “WhatsApp is working on self-destructing photos in a future update for iOS and Android. Self-destructing photos cannot be exported from WhatsApp.WhatsApp didn't implement a screenshot detection for self-destructing photos yet. The same concept from Instagram Direct,” the report read.

Once the self-destructing mode is switched on, the picture will be removed from the chat as soon as you leave the chat.

In the screenshots shared by Wabetainfo, a small icon for self-destructing photos is seen near the chatbox. The icon is placed right next to the option of adding pictures, videos and contacts. Once the mode is turned on, the picture will vanish as soon as you leave the chat. You cannot save the picture because it can only be viewed once. The pictures cannot be exported.

9. Join missed group calls:

A future update will reportedly allow WhatsApp users to join group calls that they have been invited to after the call has started. It is a minor, but significant QoL (quality of life) upgrade as an entire group call doesn't need to be restarted to include additional participants who may have missed it earlier.

10. WhatsApp Insurance:

You'll soon be able to buy insurance via WhatsApp in India. The Facebook-owned messaging platform is set to roll out health insurance and micro-pension products on its messaging platform in India through tie-ups with licensed financial services players.

Initially, WhatsApp will sell SBI General sachet-health insurance cover and HDFC Pension schemes via its platform.

Netflix Announced New Feature to automically download your favourite movies or shows for free | Watch it without Internet Connection.

Netflix announced New Feature to automically download your Movies/TV Shows for free. So that you can watch it without internet connection. It's totally based on your tastes & preferences. You just have to select your preference and allot storage space such as 1GB, 3GB, 5GB as per your choice or mobile storage. That's it, now Netflix will automatically download movies/shows as per your preference.

It's new feature “Downloads for You” is for both Android as well as iOS applications. The company says that this feature will automatically download recommended TV shows or movies to your device “based on your tastes,” and it’s completely opt-in.

The feature is rolling out today on Android and will be coming on iOS soon.

It's simple to do

1. To get started, simply launch the Netflix Android app.

2. Then, tap on the Downloads tab.

3. There, hit the toggle next to "Downloads for You."

4. On the next screen, decide how much storage space you want to dedicate for Downloads for You such as 1GB, 3GB, 5GB based on your choice and mobile storage space.

Netflix says 3GB is enough for 12 movies and TV shows.

Once you've made up your mind, tap Turn On.

If you change your mind, you can always deactivate the "Downloads for You" toggle in the Netflix app itself. Or if you run into storage troubles, you can decrease the amount it takes up from Downloads or else decrease the storage space alloted by you. Alternatively, if you want more surprises, just increase the storage space allotted to "Downloads for You". The storage space you reserve for automatic downloads will not be used by manual downloads you initiate in the Netflix app.

The company touts this feature as an expansion of its Smart Downloads feature, which it introduced three years ago as a way to automatically download the next episode of a TV show you’re watching. “Downloads for You” takes this to the next level.

Today we’re launching Downloads For You, a new feature that automatically downloads recommended shows or movies to your mobile device based on your tastes. Whether you're a comedy buck, or are a person with full of love or romance, it's all available next to you. You're getting bored or want your free time to be entertaining, we do the work so there is always something new waiting to entertain and delight you.

There’s no timetable on when this feature will roll out to all iPhone and iPad users, but it is available globally on Android. It's an Amazing Feature Right?

Google Play Music is no longer available | Here's how to transfer your Google Play Music Library to YouTube Music.

Google Play Music is no longer available

The company had set a deadline line of 24 February when the company will completely wipe out users data from google play music as it will be no longer available. Although google stopped the play music service back in December 2020, but still allowed users to keep files in the cloud locker. Now, the company points to wipe out the users data completely that includes music library with any uploads, purchases playlists, albums/songs saved to your library and also likes/dislikes everything will be cleared by 24 February, 2021.

Therefore, company is providing an option to transfer your Google Play Music data to your YouTube Music platform.

In the emails sent out by Google, the company is urging users to move their data to YouTube Music by February 24. The email notes, "On February 24, 2021 we will delete all your google play music data. This includes library with any uploads and purchases and anything you would have added from google play music".

It also provides with two options for the users to transfer their music library

1. You can transfer your Google Play Music data to YouTube Music with just one click. Head on to Google Play Music, on the home page itself you will get a full page option that Google Play Music is no longer available, "Transfer to YouTube Music". Click on "Transfer to YouTube Music" and then transfer.

2. Another way, head on to YouTube Music, on the home page itself at the top "transfer your play music library". Click on "let's go" and all your data will be transferred.

If you don't get this option on homepage then you can head on to YouTube Music app > Tap on profile picture > Settings > Transfer > Transfer from Google Play Music Account. Click on "Transfer" and all your data will be transferred.

Additionally, the company will also convert the Google Play Music subscription to the equivalent tier of YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium (based on the level of benefits with your current (subscription)

The transfer process can be done with an Android device, iPhone, or from the web. No matter which method you choose, all of your stuff gets moved over in the background, and you’ll be able to see all your play music data on YouTube music and you'll use the app as normal.

The process of transferring data is the same for mobile devices regardless of whether you’re using Android or iOS.

The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has launched an instant messaging app called Sandes as against WhatsApp.

As we all know that Whatsapp, Telegram & Signal are not Indian apps, and hence there is a chance that our India's private data or offical data can be leaked to other countries outside India. Therefore Government felt a need to launch "Sandes App" to maintain a privacy in India as against other countries.

Government Instant Messaging System (GIMS) is a messaging platform for instant communication for both Government and public users.
GIMS can be customized to manage the various types of messaging and other forms of communications in different Government organizations.

Initially it was only available to government officers, now it has been released for the general public as well.

In August 2020, the NIC released its first version of the app, which said that the app could be used by both Central and State Government Officials - "for Intra and Inter-organization communication"

This app is available for Android as well as iOS Users. Initially it was only available for Android users and later it's services extended to iOS Users.

Step 3: Visit settings > scroll > tap on off-Facebook Activity

(Once you land on this page, it will show you which apps or sites you have visited and are sharing user data with Facebook. You can tap on each app to get additional information on what data is being shared, and what Facebook is doing with all of it. The app also lets you download all your activity details. For this, you need to tap on the three-dotted button located in the ‘Off-Facebook Activity option.’ Then, tap on ‘Download your Information’ of your off-Facebook activities)

Step 4: If you don't want to show your activities to Facebook then tap on Clear History. This will make sure that you delete all the data that Facebook has collected. Once you clear the history, you will see all the apps disappearing from the top of the screen.

Step 5: Now to disable the option, you need to tap on ‘More options’ and then ‘Manage Future Activity.’

Step 6: Tap again on Manage Future Activity and tap on Future Off-Facebook Activity.

iOS Users: The only difference is you will find the hamburger menu at the bottom of the screen once you open the Facebook app on your device.

What will happen if you disable ‘Off-Facebook’ activity’?

Once you turn off the ‘Off-Facebook activity’ option, a Facebook user won’t get personalised advertisements based on their daily online activity. If you want your ads to be personalised, you basically have to pay for it with your data.
