REVIEW Franck Olivier's Bamboo Eau de Parfum

A coworker and I have been discussing fragrances lately. She was on a hunt for a new scent, and I was looking for something a little more "mature" to wear considering that out of 30 perfumes and sprays I own, every single one of them are fruity, sweet and gourmand. I have never really been a fan of floral scents--quite a few of them give me a headache, so I'm extra picky on what I spray on my person. I was offered a chance to try out Bamboo, on the fragranceoutlet.com website, which by all intents and purposes is COMPLETELY different from my usual sweet-citrus-vanilla lineup. I was given this perfume to review, and I placed an order with the website as well for some bath bombs (I've NEVER tried a bath bomb before!) and a few lotions to keep at home and at work--meaning that I was not compensated anything but the product itself, and I have been wearing it for a few weeks so I could give it a thorough review. I'm honest and upfront about these things.

So let's dive in and see what the product's like:

The perfume is actually a light misty-rose pink shade. The bottle is stunning--it's quite thick and hefty, which is something I wasn't really expecting. My only complaint that I have with it's design is that the metal does hang onto any fingerprints that it can. The spray nozzle emits a thorough and even fine mist, so that's pretty nice. The bottle itself is embossed with bamboo stem, which is beautiful.

So how does it smell?

Top notes are Blackcurrent, Violet Leaves, Ivy.
Middle notes are Lily, Rose, Ylang-Ylang, Freesia.
Base Notes are Musk, Cedar, Vetiver.

Perfume's can morph from person to person due to chemistry, which is why it's pretty difficult to review a perfume. I've had so many friends offer for me try their favorite scents, and most of them just smell overbearingly floral or far too sweet on myself. This scent is STRONG, but not in a bad way--and for being strong, it's strangely light at the same time. It's hard to explain, but it's a good thing!
I personally HATE freesia (gives me major mad headaches) and I did not notice much of it at all. At first spray, I noticed the Ivy...kind of like a freshly cut grass with a lingering rose and a hint of musk. After the alcohol dried down, I was smelling the Ylang-Ylang (which I LOVE) and a bit of a smokey wood and just a tiny bit of the blackcurrent. It was awesome! I kept sniffing myself at work (11 hour days at the office) and taking notes. On the 5th hour, some of the lily crept up with the Ivy. I was not able to smell it after the 7th hour, which does not bother me. It's kind of heavy to carry around in my purse and the cap kept coming off--so I wouldn't suggest carting it around with you. If I had an atomizer though, (which I am purchasing just for this one specifically) I can majorly see myself carrying this in my purse and spritzing it when needed.

Price Point:

At $89.00, this is the most expensive perfume that I own. What's cool is the fact that if any of you were thinking about trying this out, it's evidently on sale for 50% off right now over at the Fragrance Outlet website, which makes it waaay more affordable to give a go for yourself or maybe as a gift for a family member, sister or friend! I actually would repurchase this! Of course I would look for a promo code or wait for a discount (if I run out close to a Holiday because most sites have awesome promotions during them!) but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me--this is my first sophisticated scent, and I work at a corporate office of a multi-billion dollar private company (I'm pretty high up on the "Corporate Ladder" and I wouldn't want to give anyone headaches or make them nauseous!) and my coworkers have to deal with me for many hours a day. It's nice to find something that is luxurious and light enough to wear. Let's face it, if you smell nice, it gives you confidence! If you smell rather awful--everyone's going to make excuses to be as far away from you as possible...and then feelings get hurt. Yeah.

I made so many people smell this (including my coworkers) and everyone agreed that it was a "sophisticated, mature and beautiful" scent. It's light and fresh, so I can imagine myself wearing this when I'm going out during the day time. I'm thinking for things like day dates, lunches, meetings, family gatherings, shopping or again, at the office. It was light enough to not bother my coworkers, yet I still smelled very pretty!

Of course I made my boyfriend smell this, and he's REALLY picky. He's far more picky than I am (that's saying a lot!) and he really liked this perfume. He said that it smelled really nice and he agreed that it was a pretty and mature kind of scent...so I'll be wearing this next month for my Birthday.

This scent isn't very "sexy" or "seductive," it's very fun yet mature and innocent. It's a scent that's smells of confidence.

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum, Sheet Masks & Whitening Pore Sleeping Pack!

I am through the roof with excitement right now! I have heard of Innisfree before from other girls in the online beauty communities that I hang out in, but I haven't had the chance to try their products until now. If you haven't already checked out their website to see all of their products, you should stop by Innisfree World. They have air cushions, moisturizers, sleeping packs, sunscreen and more of course!

So let's check out these products, shall we?

We'll start with The Green Tea Seed Serum which you can find on the Innisfree World website. What it says on the box: "This nourishing moisture serum is formulated with freshly squeezed Jeju green tea and green tea seeds to create a dewy and clear skin from deep within." This product is fresh, and lasts 3 months, which is nice. At this rate, I would estimate that this bottle could last up to about 2 and a half months which means that you shouldn't have it long enough to expire if you are using it AM and PM. This serum retails for $26.00 USD for 80ml of product. Whether you are new to skin care, or you use products regularly, I would recommend this serum to anyone needing moisture all year round. It's lightweight enough for someone who needs just a little bit of hydration, yet effective enough for those of us needing a medium strength moisturizer or more.

This smells EXACTLY like green tea--this moisturizer smells AMAZING! I was researching this product before trying it and everyone else hyped up the smell--they were so right, this stuff smells heavenly! This serum feels nice on the skin. It applies evenly and absorbs very well. When it dries it doesn't really feel sticky yet it ever so slightly has a tad bit of tackiness for an hour or two, yet I do not wake up stuck to my pillow (that would be gross!) so I think it absorbs more thoroughly throughout the night.

Because this serum is a lightweight one, I apply it right after I wash my face. I wait 2 minutes before I continue with my regimen. I've been using this with a sleeping pack by Innisfree as well, and I'll review it down below. I have been using this both in the AM and PM.

What it does for me:

Okay, so it's no secret that I have crazy dry patches on my face--under my bottom lip, and on my nose. I have actually noticed the dry patches seem to look less flaky and crazy, the green tea serum has helped soothe the redness that comes along with having continuous dry skin in these areas. Green tea is also full of antioxidants which help fight against free radicals. I could see this being great for all age groups. For those of you who are beginning a skin care regimen, the best thing you can do to prevent the signs of aging is MOISTURIZE! I totally wish someone would have told me this years ago, but I had to learn from the internet. If you have mature skin, again...you gotta use a good moisturizer to protect your skin as well as trap in what moisture you do have. As we age, we lose moisture so hydration is KEY. If you have irritated skin, I would recommend this because the main ingredient is known to calm the epidermis and scalp. When I wake up and wash my face--it feels soft and plump. I don't have major redness, but what little I do have has been minimized enough to know that this stuff made a difference for me. I'm going to purchase another bottle to use on my hands as well, because when I apply it to the skin on my face, it looks instantly softer and smoother, kinda like a "soft focus" effect which makes my pores look less noticeable as well. I do not have large pores, but I can still see a difference.

Next up is the Whitening Pore Sleeping Pack which you can find on the Innisfree World website. When I first opened the sleeping pack, I noticed that there were little white flecks mixed in with the substance. I have never seen a sleeping pack like that before, so it immediately caught my interest. What it says on the box: "The brightening sleeping mask that takes care of your skin tone, dark spots and skin texture for transparency and brightness." This sleeping pack retails for $26.00 USD, and you get 100ml of product.
With a sleeping pack, you apply it as the last step to your night time regimen and sleep with it on. You wash it off in the morning and they are supposed to trap moisture in your skin leaving your skin soft, supple and plump the next day. This product does just that! They actually use squuezed tangerine peels for this--and I think that's pretty neat.

This sleeping pack is a gel like consistency, and although it looks rather thick, it's really not. I apply a dime size amount, and the little white flakies in it literally disappear as I smooth it into my skin. I assume that they are pieces of tangerine peel. This has a light citrus scent--which smells pretty delicious as well! Over time, the tangerine in this product will lighten freckles, age spots, and lighten skin. There are plenty of old recipes for skin whitening on the internet and citrus plays a huge and safe part in many of them. This stuff absorbs pretty quickly and feels cool and hydrating on my skin. It's like a breath of fresh air for tired lungs, lol!

What it does for me:

It helps keep my flaky dry patches at bay. Flaky skin is gross, so this is a HUGE blessing for me right now! My dry skin feels more hydrated and moisturized which helps my makeup go on much smoother even without a primer, it's lightened my freckles a small amount (It's noticeable by me, but my boyfriend hasn't noticed, lol) and my skin looks a bit lighter and has a more refreshed youthful appearance with less than a month's use--that's pretty awesome! My dry skin is so much less noticeable--hip hip hooray! And oh my goodness, my skin feels so freaking amazing the next morning! This sleeping pack has a high amount of vitamins and flavonoids.

I'm also trying sheet masks for the first time EVER!

The three I have are: Vita C, BHA and Hyaluronic Acid. I tried the Vitamin C mask in my video above as well, so it's worth watching if you are new to sheet masks.

(This is what ladies do when their husbands/boyfriends leave the house! ha ha ha!)

I cannot recommend these products ENOUGH. I want to try EVERYTHING they offer now...lol. I think I have an obsession with Innisfree!

I have tried so hard not to spill the beans on this product--but it's been extremely tempting! Finally, I am typing up a review of the White Tara Organics Allure Eye Gel which can be purchased on amazon as well as their online website. The company was kind enough to send me this product for review. The only compensation I received was the product itself. With that being said, let's get down to business!

Price: Retail is $57.95 but it's on sale right now for $29.95 for 0.5 oz.

What it is:
"A peptide enriched gel for skin around the eyes. Soothes, firms, brightens and & restores elasticity."

Packaging:
Pump dispenser which pumps out the perfect amount of product, not too little and not too much.

Product:
A clearish-milky gel that absorbs within seconds. Feels slightly cool to the touch. Very lightweight and silky/soft. 72% Organic.

Product Claims:
This product claims to firm, brighten, soothe and restore elasticity.

Key Ingredients & What They Do:
Aloe Vera, Periwinkle, Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, Silk Protein Amino Acid.
Aloe Vera: Full of antioxidants which help fight the signs of aging, helps firm skin as well as keeps skin hydrated.
Periwinkle: Known to help with acne, dermatitis and eczema.
Retinol: Helps fight wrinkles from sun damage, acne, eczema, discolorations and it's full of discolorations.
Hyaluronic Acid: Reduces inflammation, retains moisture thus plumping up skin, aids in penetration of skin--making your other products far more effective and creates a healthy skin barrier that helps with so many different skin concerns. (This is my favorite ingredient in the world, lol!)
Vitamin E: Blocks free radicals.

I talked about this product in a recent Favorites Video on my Youtube Channel for a reason! As soon as I applied it, I watched and waited for about 30 seconds to see this product fully absorb into my skin. I pump a small amount onto the pad of my ring finger and then I rub both of my ring fingers together. I then gently pat the product onto the skin under my eye, my eyelid, crease etc. It has a very faint almost cucumber kind of scent to it. It's crazy to say this, but I actually noticed a small difference within a few minutes of applying this! Since this is a gel and not a cream, it absorbs faster and penetrates more thoroughly. I love creams, but quite a few are so heavy that they just kind of "sit" on the skin...not this product! My eyes can be extremely puffy due to lack of sleep, stress and allergies. This instantly makes my under eye area look softer and more hydrated without any sheen or "greasy" look/feeling. It has a cool and refreshing feeling on my skin which is nice. It doesn't leave a tacky or sticky feeling, which is a huge plus with me...there's nothing like waking up and being creepily stuck to your pillow, lol. I do not really have any "bags" under my eyes, so I can't say much about whether or not it would benefit one in that aspect, but after doing plenty of research online on the ingredients as well as other customer's thoughts and opinions, this product actually DOES help alleviate that issue to a great extent, so I would recommend this product if you have bags under your eyes or dark circles. The company "Guarantees" this product, so I was even more excited to try this product. Within 4 days my skin just FELT incredibly moisturized, and more soft. I did notice my under eye area looked lighter and more even in skin tone, even though I do not have bags...so I am impressed! It softened my crow's feet and under eye wrinkles as well. Within a month of use, it just continually got better. My wrinkles and crow's feet have lessened noticeably, my skin is still soft and more hydrated. (Keeping skin hydrated is the BEST way to fight aging!) I have been applying this twice daily (except one day I was in a hurry and skipped my skincare regimen altogether) once in the morning after washing my face and once in the evening after washing my face. After I apply this product, I apply a moisturizer which I will be blogging about in a few day's time.

Final Thoughts:
This product is an awesome deal for the sale price right now! It's lightweight, moisturizing and has ingredients that make this product work! I will be purchasing a few back ups of this product. I don't know how long the price will be reduced, so if you have bags, dark circles, or just want to give your mature skin a boost, this product is for you.

Okay, I'm excited to post about these! I've been taking these to work and letting the girls I work with try them to get more opinions on these as well. The company had provided me with the original and the sensitive skin version for review. These are the Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butters in the Original Formula and the Sensitive Skin Formula. They retail for $24.70 for the full sized jars which are 6.7 oz/190g of product (That's quite a lot!) and these pictured below are the "mini" sized products which retail for $12.90 each for 1.65 oz/48g of product, which is the PERFECT size!

The packaging is sleek and unique. They come in little boxes with a hinged lid.

They have a silver embossed lid with the brand logo. On the inside of the box's lid, it reads:

You get a pretty heavy glass jar of product. The weight is 1.65 oz/48 grams, which is the "mini" size. These are pretty large for being called "mini," to be honest. It's not often that I find beauty products that come in actual glass jars, so this company get's an A++ for packaging! It's cute, practical, reusable and sturdy.

As soon as you unscrew the jar of the original one, you get a wonderful whiff of a sweet aroma. It's sweet like candy (I imagine it's because of the sugar) and it smells amazing. Everyone who has used it has commented on how great it smells! After a few minutes this smell fades to light, faint, comforting scent, which is not overpowering whatsoever. With the Sensitive Skin Body Butter, there's hardly a scent at all.

When you apply the products to the skin, they have a medium thickness (which is awesome because it coats evenly and well without running) that actually absorbs fairly quickly. It left my hands matte yet hydrated, but without a silicone/greasy feeling. It's hard to describe--I haven't tried a product like this before...my hands stayed incredibly soft for over 4 hours after application. I applied it twice during my work shift. I use less than the amount you see pictured here on my hand...and it does the job. I wanted to get a pretty good picture of the consistency for you guys, so I kinda gooped a bit on my hand, lol. It reminds me a bit of an emulsion cream without the greasy feeling.

What I really enjoyed the most was the fact that even though my hands felt moisturized and I had applied lotion to them, I had no slip and no problems while typing during my shift! My hands looked and felt supple and soft without the standard "I just applied lotion now I can't type for crap" feeling. That's huge in my book since I type all day at work. I had no problem using my mouse, and I was able to grip anything and everything I needed. Since Royal Jelly is an anti-aging product, I think I'm even more excited to use this daily. I do a lot with my hands, and I'm noticing a few small wrinkles which have appeared on my hands over the past 2 years.

This product was a HUGE hit with about 10 of us gals at work. A few of them were even asking day after day if I brought them in, ha ha ha!

Would I repurchase?

Without a doubt. I used to love The Body Shop and Bath & Body Works, but this product kind of pairs my fave things about both brands such as: I love the BBW scents, but I hate how runny their lotion can be and how much the scent fades...not really worth their prices in my honest opinion. With this product, the scent does fade, but I can still smell it for HOURS, and it moisturizes without leaving me greasy. A little bit goes a long way, AND it has anti-aging ingredients...that's a HUGE win with me. With The Body Shop, I absolutely love their products, but their lotion leaves me greasy, and I have to reapply it quite often. For the price point of TBS, it's not as price efficient for me unless they are having a sale, and even then, most of their products do not smell as delicious as this. With this Body Butter, the scent is there even if it's light, any time I have my hands in front of my face I can smell it...and my hands are not left with a greasy feeling.

First off, I want to apologize for my absence. Hi Everyone! Fall is here and it's time to pull out the leggings and comfy stuff. So for those of you ladies who are a bit "Fluffy," like myself:

* Leggings are like my Holy Grail clothing item...I wear them with dresses and skirts during Fall, and they always look great with an oversized sweater or shirt! I purchased these in the size XL from Vanity.com when they were on sale for $6.00.

* Graphic shirts are your friend: You can literally go to any clothing store or thrift shop and find a shirt with a picture or writing on it. It doesn't have to be fancy--it's how you wear it that will make it that way. I purchased this Thor shirt from Target a while back for $12.00. It's an XL, but it would also fit XXL. This shirt has been tucked into pencil skirts with blazers, worn with leggings, jeans, and under button ups. I love it because it gives a hint of my personality and hobbies while I accessorize it to make it fun and fashionable. I noticed Macy's had a Thor shirt on sale for only $12.00 so I imagine a quick internet search for your fave Marvel or DC hero (IF you're geeky like me) would produce an overabundance of items!

* Vintage scarves from thrift stores and yard sales add a bit of sass and class to any outfit. I bought this one at a yard sale for $0.25 and I usually wear it in my hair, but I enjoy changing it up!

* Boots are a MUST HAVE! I own 3 pairs and love all of them dearly. I pair them with my leggings 75% of the time. I purchased these foldover chevron boots from Vanity.com when they were on sale for $10.00. They are now discontinued, but you can find boots almost ANYWHERE.

How do you guys wear leggings? These are my jam...when they were on sale, I bought 3 pairs!
