Yves Rossy, a Swiss airplane pilot had a dream many of us share, to fly through the clouds, like a bird, but unlike most of us, he chose to actually do something about it and in 2006 he became the first man to fly with wings and four jet engines strapped to his body. On Wednesday he took to the sky in his amazing vehicle in his first public demonstration in Bex, Switzerland, in the Swiss Alps. The stunt also included an emergency parachute landing, programmed to immediately deploy if he blacks out. It was an amazing 6 minutes-performance that showed the world flying isn’t only done in an airplane.

Rossy is now preparing for a flight over the English Channel and he says he dreams of flying through the Grand Canyon, but for that he needs stronger propulsion engines. Right now, his equipment allows him to fly at about 300km/h, so you wonder what bigger engines can do? One of the most amazing things about the Fusion Man is that he does all his steering just by using his body, which can get really tricky at high speeds.

White Sands National Monument

White Sands National Monument is a United States National Monument that is in the southeastern region of the state of New Mexico. The monument contains the world's largest gypsum sand dune field 275 square miles of fine white sand, formed by the prevailing winds into large ridge-like dunes.

White Sands became a national monument on January 18, 1933 by order of President Herbert Hoover. Efforts to preserve the area's brilliant gypsum dunes had begun in the late 1800's, but it was the enthusiasm of local booster Tom Charles that finally led to the park's creation. In his words "gypsum may be divided into two classes - Commercial and Inspirational. The former everybody has, but as for recreational gypsum, we have it all. No place else in the world do you find these alabaster dunes with the beauty and splendor of the Great White Sands".

The Many Faces of Nazaury Delgado

Nazaury Delgado is a digital artist from the Bronx who uses Photoshop to create evocative and surreal images. He begins the process with a photograph of himself or others, which he then overlays with another photo collage. The entire composition is then faded together to make the final product. Delgado is nineteen years old and is currently attending the Fashion Institute of Technology on a full scholarship. While he was a participant in an arts program for at-risk teens in the Bronx, Delgado’s teachers were amazed when they saw the digital photographs that he had created on his iPod Touch. Peter Callesen is artist born in Denmark who works with white paper in different objects, paper cuts, installations and performances. Most of his works are made from A4 paper sheets. He makes various sculptures from white paper.

His precision transforms ordinary piece of paper into a masterpiece. His sculptures are sold for about $4.000.

“By taking away all the information and starting from scratch using the blank white A4 paper sheet for my creations, I feel I have found a material that we are all able to relate to, and at the same time the A4 paper sheet is neutral and open to fill with different meaning. The thin white paper gives the paper sculptures a frailty that underlines the tragic and romantic theme of my works.”, says Peter Callesen who creates paper sculptures by cutting them out of paper with scalpel.
