i bought this cupcake organiser from next at the beginning of december, and if you have been following my blog for a while, you may know that i seem to get bored of the look of my blog quite a bit… and the same can be said for other aspects of my everyday life… one including this organiser.

i covered it with cath kidston writing paper, which i also bought at the same time as the organiser, with the intention of writing more hand written letters, but lets face it… who has the time these days to sit down, write a letter, go to the post office, post it, wait up to three days for them to get it, allow up to three days for their letter to get to you (that’s after they have wrote it)… all in all, i would say this whole process takes around one and a half weeks… we could send a text and receive a reply by the time we had even found a pen… but don’t get me wrong, i do still love pretty stationary and writing paper and it does come in handy for special occasions… but at least i’m getting more use out of it this way too =) ha!

this week i have a few things on… i have my brothers birthday on friday (tomorrow), and my mum and dad’s 40th wedding anniversary on sunday =)

ode to a daffodil.

• so the other day i was wondering through a co-op shop, not really wanting anything in particular apart from the basics... bread and milk, when i saw something that gave me the sudden urge to gasp and want to scream with excitement right there in the middle of the aisle... now what could possibly be so exciting in co-op that it leads to a gasp and a possible scream i hear you ask... well i will have you know that daffodils are now on sale... and yes this is exciting news people, because you know what that means? it means spring is definately nearly here... not only are daffodils my absolute favourite flower, but they always bring such a feeling that finally i will not be cold for much longer ha!

• i came to my fiance's on saturday after work as i booked today off, so i'm here until tomorrow. he had a performance on saturday evening, which was really good... but not so good for picture taking, as i had left my laptop at home with my sd card still in said laptop... not realising until i came to take pictures of him performing and it saying i could only take 5 >.< bummer or what! well done bam bam though, you were awesome.

• on friday night, i finished work at 8pm and when i finished... i had this feeling of boredom... thats the only way i can describe it, as though i was just fed up, and couldnt be bothered to go home and just sit there watching tv... so when i looked at my phone, i had a text from one of my sisters (i have 3) to ask if i wanted to come round because she and my other 2 sisters had been bored and decided to have a few drinks and something to eat at her house... when i got to her house, we were all talking about how we had been bored all day and needed a good chat, just us sisters... it's so weird how we all had the same feeling ha ha! but it was a good night of laughs, nibbles, and lovely wine... bit of a killer on saturday morning when i was in work for 9am though ha ha.

• i met this girl Lauren last year here on blogger... and she actually left blogging for a while because she's been so busy with school and stuff, but now she's back and going to be doing blog posts more regularly... check out her blog =) she's a little gem and gave me a shoutout on her most recent blog post... so i'm just returning the love =) stop by and don't forget to follow her lovely blog =)

• i’ve been looking for a little dish type thing to put on my bedside table, for the jewellery that i wear everyday… plus when i take a shower, i always take my engagement ring off, so this is a nice place to keep it, because whenever i leave it on the side, i always have a little heart attack in case i knock it off and lose it… i got this little shell with a mint green colour inside (it shows as blue on camera) from a charity shop today and it’s just perfect =) plus it was only 99p

• i got my new phone last week after literally not having a phone since last october… i decided to get the samung galaxy s2… i was going to get the iphone 4s, but decided that everyone seems to have an iphone, so i wanted something a little different… plus this one was cheaper so hey ho ha! and i love it =) going from a blackberry to nothing to this is crazy! plus i can now use my twitter even more, which i'm lovin... because it's so not fun having to go on my laptop just to write a tweet... has anyone else got this phone?… oh and also… i am totally obsessin over polka dots lately! haha

• i ordered this ring off ebay a couple of weeks ago, and it’s become my new favourite accessory ring… it was only 50p =) so i was eve more made up when it arrived and i loved it… if your looking for accessory rings and dont want to pay retail prices, i’d check out ebay first everytime!

• this h&m mini catelogue arrived in the post for me this morning and i think i’ve already nearly mentally spent all of my wage before i’ve even got it “/ yikes!

• i haven't really had an eventful month to be honest, but i just felt like having a natter =) on the bright side, it's payday on friday so thats the highlight of my week =)... oh and also, i'm off to visit my lovely fiance on saturday for a few days so thats probs the best highlight actually ha!

• i stumbled upon a blog yesterday and just fell in love with it... i think i must have read all the posts this girl has published since she started her blog ha ha! if your interested it's this girl: delightfully tacky. i love it when you stumble upon a blog and just cant stop reading! =)

• i really need to sort out my student finance for when i start my pgce in september... is anyone else starting their pgce in sep too? if so have you done your student finance... i'm not sure if im terribly early or terribly late >.<

i was watching a cute polka dot nail tutorial last week on youtube, and realised i didnt own anything that i could create polka dots with. i found this set of 5 on ebay and bought them straight away. they came this morning but i am yet to try them out. i cant wait to start having cute polka dots on my nails ha ha!

what a bargain!

i purchased a new blusher last week as my beloved other one had all broken up =( so it was definately time for a new one… i wasn’t looking to spend a fortune and this one for £2.99 was ideal for what i was looking for… it also came with the brush which is so soft so i was made up that it had both blush and bronzer… what a bargain.
i also spotted these little eyeshadows… i’ve been using the two brown ones (on the right in the image) and the gold one for a highlighter! the bottom left i haven’t used yet, as it’s like an olive green colour and is possibly the one i will use the least! these eyeshadows were only 25p each… another bargain =)

i have just got home from visiting my fiance since saturday... so i haven't been using pinterest... hence the reason why i haven't posted a pinterest post this week... i will get back into the swing of things next week ha!

did everyone have a nice valentines day? me and my fiance spent the whole day on the sofa watching misfits (all three seasons) ha! and he got me my fave beauty product... the clarins wake up booster, which was great because i just finished my other on like thursday last week! how was yours spent?

i just purchased the samsung galaxy s2 online this morning... as i had a blackberry on contract, but it expired in october >.< , so i've literally been phone-less since then... not being able to check facebook, email or twitter on my phone has literally been a nightmare sometimes haha... not to mention i haven't been able to text people back...

it took me so long, because i couldn't decide what phone i wanted... (i'm so indecisive sometimes)... and then because i'm starting my pgce course in september, i had to decide whether i would be able to afford a contract phone whilst being on the course... but after researching deals on different phones i decided on this phone (so fingers crossed i'll like it!)... so now going to be committed to o2 for the next 2 years! has anybody else got this phone? if so what do you think of it? (i haven't received it yet, as it takes up to 48 hours to be delivered)

polka dots and sequins

i purchased this top on a recent shopping trip and just loved the colour! when i saw the price i wanted to buy two just for the sake of it (but obviously i never) because it was only £8… isn’t the sequin collar just so cute! I can’t wait for spring when i can wear this more often… it’s too cute to cover up with a coat or cardigan ha!... (the sequins are showing up black on the pictures, but they're actually the same mint green colour... i think it's to do with the camera flash).

on this particular shopping trip i also bought my lovely favourite foundation… so i’m a very happy bunny right now!

also: don't know what is going on with my hair at the front >.<

i've got to work 2-8 today... i always hate finishing at 8pm, i dont know why... i'm also off to visit my fiance tomorrow until wednesday, to spend valentines day together... we don't really have any plans for it, but it will be nice just to relax and maybe cook something nice! how is everyone planning on spending their valentines day?

salad in a box

i made this for my lunch one day last week. Since starting my new job, i've really been trying to eat healthily, as it requires being sat behind a desk for the majority of the time, and i thought this would be the most common way for me to gain weight... but thankfully (up to now) i have been really good at only taking in one of my graze box mixes or some fruit. i saw the idea for this salad in a jar on pinterest, and decided i would make it. i love salad any way so i was actually really looking forward to having it. i didn't have a jar though so mine is a salad in a box =)

i'm on a mission to lose weight by 1st april... any good healthy recipe recommendations, or sites?

this is the rediscovered top i found last week hidden in the midst of old clothing buried at the bottom of my wardrobe... oh how i love it! and i am not ashamed to admit i have worn it twice already ha! i put a plain white t shirt underneath and teamed it with a pair of primark denim skinny jeans and my brogues which i mentioned in this post
i've been using my new foundation this week and it's not too bad... i just hate it when it comes to the end of the day and it looks patchy... definately need to buy my holy grail... and soon! the lipstick is one that i mentioned in a post last march called my everyday make-up items... and i lovee it!! it's number 254 called 'kiss and blush'

my fiance is coming at 3pm to visit today because its his birthday... big 25!!! eeek cant believe i'll be turning 25 next month too!! :O the shame of it ha ha! but anyways... hurry up 3pm you're taking so long!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAMBAM!

i bought some stuff and found an old top this weekend!

i was sorting out my wardrobe over the weekend and found this mustard top with pink/red flowers over it… i think i’ve only ever wore it once and i thought it was really cute the way it ties into a bow at the neck =)

did anyone else buy company magazine? i really love their new look and how it contains illustrations =) i read the article of the girl that has a list of 23 thigs to do before she turns 23 this year… check out her blog here.

i needed a new foundation and had £10 worth of points on my boots advantage card so decided to try this bourjois healthy mix. it’s okay, but i still prefer my holy grail foundation, so i’m a bit gutted i didnt just buy that one ha ha. but i did get this mascara for free with the foundation… i haven’t tried it yet but hopefully it’s a good’un =)

finally, i picked up some new beauty products yesterday (not that i needed any of it but still) i got this eye make-up remover which is so nice and soft and has a lovely subtle smell to it (love this), then i picked up a fake tan moisturiser. I’ve not used one of these for such a long time, so i will let you know how that goes… and then i just picked up a hand and body lotion in the scent of orange and honey (which i’m not too sure about ha!)

• lemon dippy • very nori-sh • copacabana • fruit sundae
i really enjoyed my graze box this week =) the lemon dippy was my absolute fave this week… it had a lemon curd dip with mini sponge pieces and sultanas! delicious! add this to your ‘send soon’ if you love lemon sponge or even anything containing lemon =)

the very nori-sh were japanese seaweed rice crackers, and these were the mix i was most apprehensive about! but i really enjoyed them… i was quite suprised at myself!

the copacabana mix contained giant dark/milk chocolate buttons and brazil nuts! yum! my second fave (you may notice that my favourite are always the sweet stuff! ha ha!) last week it was the honey comb mix and this week its the lemon dippy ha!

finally the fruit sundae was my least favourite of the week. it’s not that i didnt like it because i did, i just preferred the others more =)

i have prepared this week for my friday’s fabulous post =) yay go me… i have finished the training for my job so i am working my normal shifts now which is great to have a bit of normality and consistency! i love working the same shifts each week too instead of it changing week by week… that way i knew what i needed to book off when i go to italy in may. anywho… on to the post… this week i’ve chosen the oh so lovely pippa middleton… which wouldn’t have been complete without a snapshot of THAT dress at the royal wedding last april… PS: i cannot believe the royal wedding was last april… it seems like it was about three months ago… an now i’m depressed… i feel like i’ve been asleep and missed nearly a year of my life ha ha!

my fiancé bought me the lemon roses in the first image a few weeks ago and i have been meaning to post this image but never quite had a post to fit them in to. he quite frequently buys me flowers but he knows how much i love lemon so i absolutely loved these.

i took the image of my little bedside set-up the other day… i have a desk calendar that i got for christmas- as you see i have crossed loads out ha ha! i have a little jar with a ribbon wrapped around with some beads and salts in it (that i’m not quite sure if i wil keep like that but we will see), the acorn is something my mum brought back for me from Italy last year, she said they were walking through a park and it dropped from a tree just in front of her feet, ad she thought that i would love it! and of course i do... then i have a lilly pen that stands in a little plant pot and a mint green polka dot candle, which i have yet to use!

my fiancé also got me these two books for christmas… the third lauren conrad book in the series and the boy in the striped pyjamas which i had been after for ages because i had heard a lot about. i havent saw the film because i always like to read the books first =)… i haven’t started reading any of them yet though because as i said in my other post i have just finished reading one day and started reading the help (posted about here) last night =)

i received an email the other day to say that the site picnik was closing down and i was gutted because i use picnik to edit my photographs in, but then i think it says that it is only moving, so i’m not sure whats going on, but alls i know is that the site is allowing every user to use all of the features (the premium ones too) until the site ends in april. i have just used some of the premium features to create my welcome profile picture! (pictured above)… i put myself in a polaroid, gave myself pinker lips, brighter eyes and a smoother complexion… (i could sooo be a celeb photo editor thingy-ma-jig) haha!

has anyone been watching the celebrity big brother this year? i missed it last night thinking that it was on at 10pm but really it was on at 9pm and apparently something kicked off and i missed it all and i dont even have a clue what happened... anybody know?... also 90210 is on tonight, oh how television rules my life!!

i'm thinking of linking up on wednesdays again with michelle at the vintage apple for oh how pinteresting! i took part in it for such a long time and now i kind of miss linking up with her each week... so i think i'll join in tomorrow! does anyone else link up with her?

• florentine • honeycomb crunch • lost army • chana masala

this weeks graze box was a bit hit and miss for me if im being honest. i really liked the giant dark chocolate buttons in the florentine one but i wasnt too fond of the pumpkin seeds and the lost army selection was nice but some of it tasted a littleof seafood, which i couldnt quite work out.. and the chana masala was really nice toobut my ultimate favourite this week was the honeycom crunch which had almods, sultanas and chocolate covered honeycomb bits… was delicious =)

ps: i just finished reading one day by david nicholls... i enjoyed this book more than any of the books i've possibly read in the last year... i've never saw the film and only knew a little of what it was about so i didn't know what to expect, but really recommend it... have any of you saw the film? is it just as good as the book?

update on life- 009

1•  a couple of years ago i was introduced to a book called ‘the secret’ after my fiancé bought it… i borrowed it from him and i have only just given it back to him about a month ago (i know how bad is that)… i hate it when you borrow something to someone and they take ages to give it back to you and i hate to admit that under these circumstances, I am the person i despise. I also have to admit that the only reason i returned the book to his bookshelf is because i bought my own copy for £1 in a charity shop (as new too).
i have a secret… i’m quite a negative person... naturally... and tend to verge on the pessimistic side as opposed to the optimistic side of things. don’t get me wrong i wish i was an optimist but it must be something in my genes… so any help i can get with looking at the brighter side of things is welcome. and sometimes i see this book as a blessing… i have not read it cover to cover, i have browsed it and chose chapters at random for guidance rather than reading for pleasure.

2•  one of my goals for 2012 and also on my 101 for 1001 goals is to not moan/complain as much and really just be thankful for everything that is good in my life. having my own copy of this book makes me happy =)

3•  for the last few weeks i have been training in my new job… its just a call centre job… nothing too special but it will tie me over until i start my pgce course in september!!

4•  and also i need to get saving because I’m going to Italy in May!!! =) i cannot wait! I’ve never been and a few years ago a family member was reseaching our family ancestry and came to realise that we have some relations that still live over there, so for the last few years our family over here has been visiting them in italy and this is the first time i was able to go so i’m really excited!! i best get learning italian!! are you off anywhere nice this year?

5•  i’m not sure if i’m going to do the friday’s fabulous post tomorrow!! (i know! slacking after only two weeks) i have been so busy this week that i completely forgot about it and now its late on thursday night and sometimes i just want to post something different instead of keeping to a schedule, because sometimes with series posts it kind of feels like homework ha!

6•  i found out today that my little 6 year old nephew/godson has hand, foot and mouth disease which apparently goes around nurseries so we don’t know how he has caught it because obviously he is in school but i'm really hoping he is okay! =( get well soo my little adam xx

Me and my fiance made this meal for the first time way back in either october/november … we have made it quite a lot since then and tend to have the chicken with salad and either oven chips, corn on the cob or garlic bread.

ingredients
1 whole chicken 2 plums 1 onion any seasoning you wish to use(we use curry powder and mixed herbs) 15 cherry tomatoes 2 stems of fresh coriander optional lettuce cucumber salad dressing oven chips corn on the cob garlic bread

how to:

pre heat the oven to gas mark 5/ 150 degrees

Seasoning the chicken:
• make sure to thoroughly wash it.
• place the whole chicken into an oven proof baking dish
• sprinkle curry powder and mixed herbs (or the seasoning of your choice) all over the chicken so that it is covered and massage in.
• cut up the onion, fresh coriander, 7 cherry tomatoes and 2 plums, stuff half of this into the actual chicken itself and then place the remaining over the top of the chicken (as shown in the above photo)
• place into the middle of the preheated oven

(this will take about 2 hours and 30 minutes to cook.)

if you are having corn on the corn with your chicken:
when it (the chicken) has been in for 2 hours boil water in quite a large pan and place the corn on the cobs into the boiled water and leave to simmer for around 20 minutes or until they feel soft (test with a fork)

if you are having oven chips with your chicken:

place them in the oven above the chicken (which is the hottest place) for 20 minutes (or as stated on the back of the packet)

if you are having garlic bread with your chicken:

place the garlic bread in the oven above the chicken for around 8-10 (or as stated on the instructions)

whilst your desired choice of garlic bread, chicken or corn on the cob is cooking, you should make your salad. me and my fiance opt for just a basic salad using the rest of the cherry tomatoes (we only used 7 on the chicken remember) with lettuce, cucumber and a salad dressing.

when the chicken is ready leave to stand for about five minutes and then cut up starting at the very middle (as shown in the image below). make sure that all of the chicken is a really white colour (if you see any ‘pink’ parts, cut as shown in the image and place in the oven a little longer, until it is all white)

*NOTE: i do not have a source for this recipe as me and my fiance just decided to make it one time and kind of winged it and it turned out like this. if you opt for no plums it is still a good recipe for stuffed chicken :) let me know how yours goes if you try this recipe! :-)

i am starting to get behind with these graze box posts, as i received the forth box at the beginning of january and the fifth box the week after so i am due to get a box for this week tomorrow so i thought i would post both boxes on here today… i’ve really enjoyed all of these especially the lemon meringue pie, fennel seeds and honey peanuts and the salsa mexicanos :-)

Here we are for our second week (i’m getting good at being consistant- whether it will appear next week remains to be seen) of fridays fabulous, and this week i have chosen mollie king from the girl group called the saturdays... i am not ashamed to admit that i want to be a saturdays girl just as much as i want to be a 90210 girl (any will do). my favourite out of the band in regards to fashion is definately mollie (even though i did frankie sandford on fridays fabulous first). here goes…

thinking of spring...

i hate to start on a negative note, but i always hate this time of year… all the excitement of christmas has gone and the aspirations for the new year are suddenly rising to the surface, and making you realise that you probably wont do all the great ‘impossible’ plans you have set yourself for the new year… and now we are just left with a feeling that maybe, just maybe, this year, will be just like the last… so what do we do when we are faced with these depressing thoughts i hear you ask?… well, we pick ourselves up and give ourselves something, ANYTHING to look forward to… in my case… this is SPRING!!!… i loveee spring, it’s my favourite time of the year (possibly because daffodils are my favourite flower), or the fact that i love waking up early in the morning and it’s light, and daisies and buttercups cover the grass, and i can hear the birds singing outside (yes this makes me smile), i just love everything about it, the smell, the fact that summer is just around the corner. i am getting excited just thinking about it!!

so what better way to look forward to my favourite season but to pick out fashion and styles that i cant wait to wear… i am definately going to get a little trilby hat, and i already have some moccassins which i mentioned in this post… I also fell in love with this top when i saw becky wearing it over on her blog just before christmas.

Today has been a lazy sunday... don't you just love those? my mum made the family a lovely roast dinner, and i took care of my nephew for a few hours... he's nearly four months old and at the stage were he is coo-ing and gurgling and giggling and grinning, and he does this thing were i start talking to him and he starts coo-ing along as though he is talking back, and i have to admit, it is, hands down the most cutest thing i have ever seen in my life =)

NOTE: for some reason my camera lead will not recognise my camera, and i am not very good at ‘fixing’ things like that so i will possibly have to wait for bambam to get here at the weekend... booo all week without any pictures to upload!!

ANOTHER NOTE: also, whilst i was writing this post i reached 250 followers!!! thank you to everyone for following this little ol' blog of mine, it means so much that people actually take the time out to read what i post let alone follow along.
