step, know that the whole world is moving. Look at every moment, every change that is occurring. When you put your one step observe how synchronizing the world is with you. You know you can not identify yourself as separate being.

Do you consider a cell in your body as separate being though it has its own lifetime. do separate cells of your body as separate beings? You will not. You do not identify separately from you. They are millions of them communicating to each other. Every day many number of cells come to life and many cells die. Still you will not give them identity. They are all you. They are not separate from you. Do you agree?

One thing that we have to understand is know that we are all part of higher energy. We need not identify our selves as separate identities. We are not separate. We are all part of one being. We are all immersed in that super consciousness. We are all linked , connected at higher level. We appear and disappear into this higher being.

When you move it is not that you are alone moving, It is the being that is moving. So it will return garbage to main.

Solution is to make var1 as static inside function so that instead of sitting in stack, it will sit in data memory.

Hope you enjoyed this simple concept.

Power of Static in C

Well, once I failed to answer use of static properly. I hope below information regarding static will be useful to anyone.

Static is storage class type which defines where this data should be stored in memory and also defines variable's visibility(Scope).

To be more clear we will talk about three concepts here

1.) Duration
2.) Scope
3.) Linkage

1.) Duration
Static duration - Storage allocated permanently.
Automatic duration - Storage allocated and freed as necessary.

Automatic declarations:
if declaration inside function.
if declaration does not contain static or extern.
and declaration that is not function declaration.

2.) Scope

. Function Scope
. File Scope
. Block Scope
. Function Prototype Scope

3.) Linkage

. Internal Linkage
. External Linkage
. No Linkage

Static to local variable:(Internal declarations)

Default storage class is AUTO

But for functions default storage type is always EXTERN

If we declare a variable inside function, with auto(i.e. no storage class is specified), then it will be stored in stack. All variables inside function without any storage class specifier are considered as AUTO and will be stored in stack and their visibility is limited with in the function and values will not be retained.

When these variables are given with static, now instead of storing this variable in stack, it will be stored in ROM. So now this variables values are retained even when you come out of function.

it means, Life time is made infinite but scope is limited to function alone.

Static to global variable:(External declarations)

Default storage class is EXTERN

Usually global variables are accessed through out all files unless we specify static to a variable. When we specify static, we are limiting its scope to its file. that is all functions below this variable can use this variable.

then what is this EXTERN used for global variables?
It is only to inform compiler to resolve addressing to this during linking time as this variable is available in some other file.

Finally Started

Finally started to look for new job , also finally started to blog. Hmmmm today I went for 2 interviews.

First one is HCL Technologies. This is for job in Chennai. They are looking for Socket programming engineers with Embedded C and with good RTOS concepts.

Now as I understand They want middle ware software updation engineers for cell phone development. You can find it in below image that applications like SMS, Camera software, Document viewer etc sits here. Now Software like Camera software needs to interact with camera driver in chipset software layer through middle ware.

Any one interested in this work can send your resumes to HCL.

I told them I am not interested as this development is not from scratch and only enhancement and mostly it could be support based. I am tired of same in my present company.

Then I went for Patni interview . Well I really did not really do well here. But I don't know why they pushed me to HR round. Well in HR round I talked talked and talked a lot :)

Technical round is big flop to me, I could not answer basic questions.

I told my strong areas are Embedded C, Assembly and he started

Through IIC bus you will receive 16bit variable. in this 1st byte contain critical data info and 2nd byte contains super critical data info. Now action need to be taken if any of the single bit set on these bytes. Write a function using unions to detect if any action to be taken.

next
How will you avoid multiple header inclusions

next
{
int *p;
p = malloc(....);
}
What is problem in above code?

next
{
int *p;
*p = 100;
}
any problem ?

next
what are preemptive and non preemptive tasks

That is it
He asked me wait out side and then I am called by Senior manager, may be HR.

He asked every thing like ambitions, my past technical carrier, configuration management. Surprisingly he did not ask me about salary. Any way this post is for Mumbai. Let me see what will they say on monday.

I did not do well on this so not much expectations. learned few lessons.
