How to Become a Human Heart Nature Dealer

Registering as a Human Heart Nature Dealer is very fast and easy.

Here's what I did:

1. I opened Human Nature's Website: www.humanheartnature.com , and chose Philippines.

2. I clicked on the BE A SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR button at the top of the webpage.

3. I was given two options for registering. First, I can print the registration form and bring it directly to a Human Nature Branch. Second option is to register online. I am from Santa Rosa and the nearest branch is in Alabang. So I decided to register online.

Be a Social Entrepreneur. Choose from Option 1 and 2.

4. I filled up the form. I was also asked to send a copy of my valid ID. So I took a picture of my pagibig ID and uploaded it. I was also asked of my shipping address and the dealer package I would like to avail. There were three packages to choose from: P799.00 with pre-selected products and materials, P1,999.00 with pre-selected products and materials, or the P1999.00 with the same inclusions as the first option plus I get to choose P1600.00 worth of products. I chose the last one.

5. I clicked submit and in just few hours I received an email from Ms. Shiela of Human Heart Nature.

6. She guided me thoroughly, providing me the dealer terms, payment options, and the order form so I can pick the P1600.00 worth of products I availed.

7. The order form is a great tool because it shows the brochure price and discounted price together with the list of all the products. I filled up the order form and sent it back to Ms. Shiela.

8. I deposited the total amount of my orders to their account in BPI.

9. I took a picture of my deposit slip and sent it immediately to Ms. Shiela as well.

10. She confirmed the receipt of my email and informed me that my orders will be delivered within two-three days.

11. I received my orders after two days.

It was that fast!

Why I became a Human Heart Nature Products Dealer

I'm not the type that would sell products to office mates, neighbors or strangers, even more. But I became a dealer of Human Heart Nature Products. My decision was quick but it was not sudden and it was something that I really thought about.

It all began with this.

I found out I was pregnant. I was 5 weeks pregnant when we found out and the whole family was happy and excited. I searched the internet and asked my sister and some friends: What should I eat so our baby will be healthy? Can I use feminine wash while pregnant? Should I change my soap and shampoo? What make up is safe for my baby?

That's how I learned about Human Heart Nature. They have 100% natural products. So I immediately ordered some products from a friend.

Then, the bleeding started. And to make the story short, we lost our first baby a little less than two months in pregnancy. It was tough. I'd stare at the products I bought from Human Heart Nature thinking, "the reason for using these products is now gone". For some time, it served as a reminder of what I have lost.

Now, these products remind me of a greater purpose. One day, I got bored and decided to learn more about Human Heart Nature. I'd like to believe that an angel led me to it. As I read more about the company, I realize how much I could help. I became a Human Heart Nature Dealer. I became a Social Entrepreneur.

The Resume for your Dream Job

Sending out a resume is not just signifying your desire to fill in a vacant position. It is your first shot at convincing the employer that you are the right person for the job. Companies receive a lot of applications per day and you have to find a way to get noticed in that pile of resumes. It is very important to learn how to write a winning resume to land the job. Follow these tips in writing your resume effectively:

Design your resume for the company. The employer would definitely be happy to see that you made a lot of effort in your job application. Tailoring your application for a specific employer shows that you are serious and you really took time preparing for it. Do not just copy cover letters. Instead, create your own mentioning how you learned about the vacancy, how a great fit you are to it, and why you would like to work for them. It tells the employer how interested you really are.

Design your resume for the job. Do you just create a resume, print it ten times and send all of them to every company you know? Don’t. Read the qualifications and job description of the vacant position you are applying for and check what skills, experience, and character they need for it. This way, you know what information you should highlight in your resume. Provide more details about your past experience which you think is vital to the job. Include a list of relevant trainings you have been to before to support your knowledge and skills. Remember, you have to meet the qualifications in order to get the job.

Eliminate all typographical errors. A typographical error in your resume is a signal to the HR or Recruitment Manager how much you lack precision and attention to details. Companies would not want to hire someone who does not even bother checking his work before sending it out. Read your resume thoroughly before printing or have someone proofread it just to make sure you got everything polished.

Always begin with what the employers want to see. Begin your resume with a Summary of Qualifications instead of an Objective. Indicate your accomplishments and notable experiences. In doing so, your resume will have better chances of getting noticed by the HR Manager who just scans through each of the hundreds of applications the company receives.

Be precise. Keep your resume short enough to not bore the HR Manager and long enough to put all your pertinent information. Be precise and straight to the point. Most employers prefer a bulleted format because it is easier for them to read, but write the details in full sentences instead of phrases. This way, the information is clearer and more formal.

Employers first see you through these papers. And it may also be the last if you do not know the right way on how to make a winning resume. Take your time creating your resume - it is one of the keys in getting your dream job.

Wedding Supplier Review: Glisten Concepts

Preparing for our wedding could be the happiest thing that we've done together. We argued many times, we got exhausted, we faced disappointments, but still I believe counting the days until the wedding day, is the most exciting. The day was not perfect. But I think it's not about perfecting it. Rather, It's about knowing that in the future, when we get old, we will look back at those moments and smile.

And since this is very special, I'd like to share a post-review of our suppliers, and contacts during the event. This is to help other couples who are on the phase of preparing their special day.

Here is the Post-Review for Glisten Concepts:

We were so happy that we did not have to look for various suppliers when we met her. It made our job so much easier. But we also encountered problems along the way. Ms. Meg of Glisten Concepts proved to be a wedding expert and she helped us in our wedding planning. What I liked about Glisten Concepts is their payment scheme. Ms. Meg offered us to pay in installment every time we had our meeting, instead of paying the whole amount at one time. This makes paying lighter on our pocket. They also gave us free Unlimited International Luxury Fusion Buffet at Ace Hotel c/o Metrodeal, which we enjoyed after the wedding.

Glisten Concepts, from Binan Laguna, provides full packages for Weddings, Birthdays, and other events. Below are the services we were able to book from them, together of course, with the reviews:

1. Wedding Coordination

Actually, the wedding coordination was provided by Glisten concepts as part of the wedding package we availed from them.

We meet once a month to discuss the progress of the event. She promised to provide us with one Bridal Manager, two church coordinators, and herself as over-all in-charge. But during the event itself where we needed her help the most, her presence was barely felt. She was not even present at the reception. Ms. Gie (Bridal Manager) was there to assist me throughout the day. And I must commend her for that. She came early during the wedding preps and did not leave the event until she made sure that I am all set to go home. Ms. Meg appeared at the church and was able to greet me before the ceremony started. She also helped the whole entourage line up during procession. But that was it, the over-all event manager. The other assistants did their best to open the church doors.

2. Invitations

We did our own wedding invitations. It was supposed to be part of the wedding package but we cancelled it and asked for Ms. Meg to give us back the money allotted for the invitations since we were not satisfied with the samples. I was told each invitation was worth 65 pesos. That's not cheap. I described the invitation I wanted very clearly. I even made my own lay-out. All they have to do is print and assemble them. I did not request for an extravagant invitation. It was a plain white, single fold invitation with an insert to put in the pages. But the sample they sent me was made as if the printer is running low in ink. The paper was blue instead of the white I clearly stated. I was asking for another sample that matched my request, but they said there would be an additional charge. So we just decided to create our own.

She gave us back our money. 1,500 pesos. I know that is not how much the invitations are supposed to be because if an invitation is worth 65 pesos each, then that would only be around 23 pieces.

3. Photographer
Dax and Kokoi

Photography was another inclusion in the wedding package we got from Glisten Concepts. I've seen Dax's and Kokoi's works from the internet and from their portfolio. We liked their style so we decided to hire both of them.

Dax was also our photographer during the Pre-Nup session provided by Glisten Concepts for free. I loved the result of our pre-nup! Dax even made an MTV style video of our pre-nup.

Kokoi was the additional photographer we got for the wedding day. We've known each other even before Ms. Meg introduced him because he was the photographer during one family event which happened recently before our wedding. I know how Kokoi works that is why we agreed to hire him as well.

But during the wedding day, Kokoi was not there. Instead, another photographer named Vhanz (I'm really not sure) took his place. He is actually a good photographer. I loved his shots. But it doesn't change the fact that He was not the photographer we booked. Any bride would definitely worry with this happening during the wedding day.

4. Videographer
Sir Jun

From the beginning, Ms. Meg has been convincing us about having Sir Jun as our videographer. I can remember being presented with raw video clips and edited videos they said was done by Sir Jun. They were decent and I was not looking for high definition, international standard kind of video for our wedding. Anyway, we only paid a small amount for it. In other words, we were convinced. Ms. Meg told us that Sir Jun is a great videographer, so we agreed to book.

During the wedding, Sir Jun was NOT there. Instead another man, holding a mini-cam, took his place. I repeat, a mini-cam. At first, I thought, it was just the first part of the videography and the bigger camera or Sir Jun himself would pop up from somewhere. But none of that happened. The man with the mini-cam continued to cover the whole event. I almost cried.

Of course I was disappointed. The quality of the video was very poor. We paid additional for video editing during our last meeting before the wedding because Ms. Meg said that the video editor was "malupit". And Maybe she was right. Malupit.

The wedding video is supposed to be our souvenir. We were looking forward to watch it together with the whole family, But I could not even watch the whole thing. My expectations were high because of the samples I was presented with. This is the most disappointing part of the package.

The groom and bride's attire was included in the wedding package we got from Glisten Concepts. They offer a complete wedding package for a very low price. Getting a wedding package can really save money, time, and effort. Glisten Concepts has separate suppliers for the Bride's gown and Groom's Barong.

The Groom's Barong Suit looked good although I'd still laugh at those shoulder pads. I was also pleased with the Bride's Gown. I did not liked the satin finish. But they were able to capture the cut and design that I wanted. For the price we paid, the accessories(cord, veil, ring pillow, coin pillow) looked cheap though. I don't even want to post the photos.

6. Bridal Car

It was a white car and that's all that we requested. The driver was friendly. But we had to ask him to remove the "FOR SALE" sign at the back of the car. I think we can all say that was inappropriate. We had a chat while waiting for the ceremony to start. He shared stories about his family, para daw mabawasan ang kaba ko. Thanks! He told me that the car is already for sale but his daughter's friend (Ms. Meg, I assume) requested for it to be used during the wedding.

7. Wedding Singer

We were all amazed with the voice of Ms. Florence. Guests told us that they would have to glance at the DJ's corner just to check if it is the DJ playing the song or Ms. Florence singing it live. We loved her voice.

8. Host / Emcee
Wendy

If there is one that I would want to change with our wedding, that would be the host. Ms. Meg initially offered us that she would be hosting the event. But she later on changed her mind saying that she would be FOCUSING more on the over-all event management (or not). She introduced us to Wendy.

It seemed to me that what happened was a practice or a training for Wendy during that time. He was more nervous than I was. When he called us (the newly weds) Mr. and Mrs., he announced my last name instead of the groom's. Guests laughed and shouted to correct him. In the middle part of the program, I ask Wendy to read a story I wrote as part of a game. It is about the Groom and I's first date. But he did not give it justice. Sana Tinagalog ko na lang. Every time, he would pronounce P as F and F as P.

Some guests jokingly asked me after the event if the host was still alive. I could not laugh.

9. Bubble Machine and Party Poppers

I did not request for a bubble machine but Ms. Meg offered it to us for free along with the party poppers. That made us really happy since we could not get the fireworks we wished for because the venue is near a gasoline station. That would be very dangerous.

While finalizing the planning, Ms. Meg told us that there would be no bubble machine. Instead, they would give children bubble blowers and have them make the bubbles as we enter the venue for the reception. She said they do that with their other weddings and it was so cute.

And you guessed that right!

We are totally fine with it. It does not matter. We did not request for bubbles anyway. But it's still not right.

10. Make Up for Bride and Groom

Sir Erick is a very professional make up artist. He came very early at the preps venue. He started early as well. This made my day more relaxed. I felt really beautiful during the wedding. My friends also noticed the great work Erick has done. We booked for a traditional make up at first but later on decided to upgrade to airbrush. It was a good decision, I believe. The price, though, was higher than we expected.

11. Photobooth

We availed of the photobooth since we wanted our guests to have lots of souvenirs from our wedding. We requested for ref magnets but during the last part of the event, they ran out of magnets and just provided photo standees. I wasn't surprised. Our friends love to pose for pictures. ;P I think everybody enjoyed posing and guests were able to maximize the use of the photobooth.

In Summary

It was a case of overpromise, underdeliver.

Making a deal with Glisten Concepts was the cheapest. It's great for those with tight budget. But after our wedding, I would advise couples to look for separate suppliers rather than get a cheap package.

In the end, it cost us more because we needed to upgrade some services. And worse, we had to settle for poorly executed services. What's worse is that we did not receive any explanation why some of their contacts did not show up. No information (or apology) at all. Yes, photography was good, photobooth was ok, make up is great. But over-all, I was not satisfied. It was stressful watching the host and seeing the photographer and videographer who were not part of our contract with Glisten Concepts.

Cheap Weekend Getaway Near Manila

You know, I'm already in my late 20s.
And in my head I know that my Gala Days will soon be over. I have to focus more on my future plans. Spending on vacations is not part of them.

But before I let go of all those days when I could just lay down on the beach or hop on any bus going to anywhere, of course I would like to share some ideas on how other people can also enjoy their weekend getaway without spending too much and going too far.

So here's a list of cheap weekend getaway near Manila:

1. Seven Lakes of San Pablo Laguna

Laguna is well known for hot springs and private resorts. But if you want to enjoy the waters in a different way, I recommend that you visit Laguna' Seven Lakes. Among the seven lakes, my favorite is Pandin Lake. Why? According the locals, communities surrounding each of the lakes have agreed that each of them should have their own service or business to offer. The community in Pandin lake offers a cruise around the Pandin Lake. They also offer Lunch - binalot sa dahon.

2. Tagaytay

Who doesn't enjoy Tagaytay, right? What's best about this place is that it is very near, very cool, and very easy on the budget. I can have php200.00 on my pocket and still enjoy this place. Tagaytay is abundant with Restaurants and Leisure Parks, and for those with the budget, this is the place to be.

Don't have the budget?
Try these:
1. Visit Magallanes Square. You don't have to eat in expensive restaurants to enjoy the view of Taal Volcano. I often visit the place and I don't have to pay a single centavo. The view is relaxing!
2. Visit the churches. Aside from their Bulalo, Tagaytay is also famous for their churches.
3. Walk the streets. I don't know about you, but me, I like walking. And I've walked the streets of Tagaytay countless of times. It's beautiful, It's cool, and it's free!

3. UPLB
Yes, the Unibersidad ng Pilipinas in Los Banos. That's what I am talking about. It's not a tourist destination. But it great for cheap barkada get together. If you and your friends are laid back people just want to have time to catch up with each other or you really like posing for some weird shots, go here.

Try bringing some snacks or coffee.

4. Dampalit Falls
I bet you don't know this place. I will let the photos convince you to want to know where this place is.

Dampalit falls is also in Los Banos Laguna. It is about 2 km walk from the main road to reach this hidden gem. You have to pay Php20.00 as maintenance fee, I think. You can also rent open cottages, if you plan to stay longer.

Baler: Tips and Tricks on going there

This is the cheapest barkada getaway we've ever had.

And probably one of the best too, considering that we only stayed there for a little over 24 hours.

A trip to Baler is something you shouldn't miss. It is a perfect mixture of rich history, natural wonders, hospitable people, and adrenaline-pumping adventure.

So, here are the tipid tips and recommendations for those who want to enjoy a Baler Getaway of their own.

Genesis transport is the only bus line that has direct trips to Baler. I recommend you ride the regular airconditioned bus which costs Php450.00 per passenger. You just have to choose the most comfortable seat since you'd be travelling for around 6-7 hours. If you plan to reach Baler around 7 o'clock the following morning, be sure to be at the terminal by 11 pm. There are no reservations for regular aircon bus, so you have to wait in line. When we came at the terminal around 11pm, the guard told us that buses 1, 2, and 3 are already full. They issue bus number for passengers who came early. He added that there will be buses 4 and 5 which can accommodate us but he will no longer issue bus number and we would just have to wait and fall in line. There were many passengers waiting, and I don't know what would happen to passengers if buses 4 and 5 were already full. So better be early and pack a gallon of pateince. You can also opt to ride in their Joybus that promises comfort and luxury while you travel. But of course you have to pay around Php700.00 plus you have to book at least two weeks in advance before your scheduled trip as the joybus gets fully booked quite fast.
Unless you are confident about your driving skills or you are a daredevil, I do not recommend riding and driving your own car going to Baler. It was a smooth drive at NLEX and SCTEX but once you passed Cabanatuan City, it will be long, winding, zigzag, not paved well, steep, narrow roads to Baler.
Travel time is around 6-7 hours via regular aircon bus due to stopovers. We left Cubao around 1am and reached Baler by 7am. So if you want to catch the sunrise, be early.
There are no jeepneys in Baler (i think. or maybe they were hiding when we came.) So the mode of transportation are the Tricycles. Once in Baler Terminal, tricycles are already lined up waiting for passengers and offering you tour around the place.
Kuya Dante offered us a tour for only Php500.00 - a highly recommended tour guide.

Hotels, resorts, homestays are like mushrooms in Baler. You can easily find and book a room online. Your decision will of course be based on your preference. If you want affordable accommodation, homestay would be the perfect choice. But if you like the beach, the restaurants, the crowd, and the fun, then you should stay in resorts in Sabang Beach. Meanwhile, if you want beach+fun+relaxation- the crowd, then go to Brgy. Buhangin. That's what we did. It's the same stretch of beach but far from the numerous resorts at Brgy. Sabang. We stayed at Isla Virginia Resort. What I liked about the place is that the rooms are new, staffs are EXTREMELY VERY HELPFUL AND KIND AND RESPECTFUL AND HAPPY AND EVERYTHING NICE, and they have a swimming pool. You can't really swim when the waves are huge. So it's a good thing they have a pool.
If you want to book for a room at Isla Virginia, you can call 09207550467. Please call, because we had a hard time trying to communicate thru text messages. They say it is because of the weak signal in the area. Our room was Baybay4, which was worth Php2000.00 for two persons. We paid extra Php300.00 because we were three. Standard check in time is 2pm but we got there around 7am and they allowed us to check in WITHOUT additional fees!
Surfing! You cannot go to Baler if you will not try this! Standard rate for 1hour rent of surf board is Php350.00 with free surfing lesson. Isla Virginia offers this as well. Look for JR, Enric, or Jinky.
For beginners, like me, it is best to try surfing during the months of April and May because waves are smaller.
You can actually surf, even if you can't swim.
Like What I have said, this trip is by far the cheapest I've done. Here is the summary of expenses:

For the Love of Baler

Baler is just one of a kind.

I think I fell in love.

There I was standing in the terminal, waiting with one thing in my mind: "relaxation starts NOW."

But from there, the feelings developed little by little... My feelings for Baler. To get to the place, we traversed the steep roads of Sierra Madre Ridges. It was looong, winnnnddiing, tiring, crazy journey... Just like any other love story. There were points were I got scared. I can imagine the bus falling off the cliff and rolling down the mountains. But the view from afar was stunning.. promising. And it made me look forward to everything else that would be coming.

And as I roam around Baler, it felt like a man introducing himself to the woman he adores. Quite a fine man, may I say.

The place was rich in history, natural wonders, and hospitable people. And what I saw, was just an introduction.

I saw the beach. It was a long stretch of beach - serene and rough both at the same time. The waves were strong but the place was peaceful, quiet and simple.

Then...

I faced the ocean with fear in my heart. Scared to get hurt. Scared to death.

But just like what we've heard so many times " what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"... Wiser. Bolder. Fiercer. Happier. and many other words ending in ER.

So... I dipped in.

I thought " cool, the Pacific Ocean is hugging me". And the waves literally hugged me nonstop as I fell off the surf board countless of times.

But I kept on trying. Until at last... I did it. I was able to stand on my board. It was a sense of fulfillment. Triumph. Something I have never felt before.

Then I did it a few more times. And it became a mutual understanding... between me and my board... me and the waves... me and Baler.

And as we all expect, all those happy moments would have to end. I have to go home.

It rained. The skies cried when Baler and I parted.

Now, reminiscing about the affair, it made me smile. Big time! That same smile I had everytime I read corny text messages from my crush when I was younger. I look at the photos and I look back at the moments when I can say " this is joy, fulfillment, and satisfaction." It was a 'kilig' moment.

I am really concerned with the river's situation. But at the same time, I want to spend time with my friends, in a different way.

Also, the event did not start on time. Maybe because the organizers were still waiting for other participants to come so we could beat last year's record. another thing na nakakalungkot, hindi natin na-beat ang record. But it's ok. This will still be a really really great help for the river.

Hindi naman puro negative ang comment ko noh? last na to... promise. ang hirap kasi ng transportation after the event. Sana next time at least, magcoordinate man lang sa mga jeepneys or bus operators para madali makauwi yung mga participants. hindi naman kailangang libre. Pagod na nga pagtakbo, naglakad pa pauwi. Come on! hehehe

Despite all my comments, I am still looking forward for another run for Pasig river next year. I know it will be better!

Two nights before the trip, I called Aling Sion para sa reservation. It is better to have a reservation kung ayaw mong maghintay ng matagal especially if you're coming on a weekend.

how to commute???
(note, this is how i commute.hehehe)
If you are from manila, just ride a bus going to lucena.
meron ng mga jeepneys going to san pablo kahit nasa sto. tomas ka pa lang so pwede ka na bumaba dun or continue the ride until you feel like going down the bus. hehehe.

(by the way, there are also a lot of GTT van going straight to San Pablo. That might be your best option.)

basta sumakay ka ng jeepney going to san pablo. and as long as you see the San Pablo Cathedral, hindi ka maliligaw. Get off the jeepney once you're near the church. Face the church. Keep right. To your right, you'll see 711. There's no other 711 around the area so you can't really get lost. Grab a drink (WATER..).hehe. May pila ng jeep beside 711 that has a signboard ILOG. Ride that jeepney... and tell the driver VERY CLEARLY that you want to go to lake pandin. The fare is around 12 pesos, if i remember it right.

ok. When you ride the jeep, Lake pandin will be it's last stop. and the driver might even opt not to go there anymore. worry not. you can walk. hehehe. Malapit lang sya... hindi ka din mawawala since may mga road signs naman.

You'll know you're there when you see Gov. Ejercito's tarpaulin.
If it is a weekend, you'll also probably see a number of cars parked near it.

Call aling sion right away and tell her you've arrived. =)

Aling Sion accompanied us going to the lake. It's a short walk compared to the path leading Kabigan Falls (Ilocos Norte).

The Lake is not enchanting or awesome or magical in any way. It is good. And the tour is really really relaxing. But I admit, hindi sya super ganda... Especially dun sa shore where the tour will start. Medyo madami ng basura. at madaming tao. But during the tour, super relaxing talaga. at VIP treatment ang mga lady paddlers dun. Special thanks to Ate Lot2 at Ate Marina...

You might want to know how to go around the city and how to get back home...
Eto...
from Lake pandin, lalakad ulit. sa same na daan na nilakaran going to the lake. It is best if you are accompanied by someone from the lake ( we were accompanied by Mang Tano by the way)... Kala mo alam mo na ang daan pero hindi. nakakaligaw sya.

Pag narating nyo na ang main road, sakay kayo ng jeepney , signboard SAN PABLO. wala namang iba.... =) Get off at San Pablo proper. You'll know you're there (again) when you see the church... From there, you can ride the tricycle to get to Sampaloc Lake....

Getting Back...Just ride that tricycle again. hehehe

From the town proper, there are jeepneys heading to Sto. Tomas... Ride that jeepney and ask to be dropped off at Sto. Tomas Public Market. There are buses passing on that area going to Buendia, Cubao, etc.

Now, comments.

Pandin, Yambo and Sampaloc lakes. They are simple. Not amazing. not awesome. Not Magical. As i said earlier. But they are not ugly either. I just wish that they stay that way (or even improve when it comes to cleanliness). I don't want to see them full of BASURA, in the future...

Cafe Lago. If i'm gonna rate it 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, the rating is 4. Yes. I was disappointed. Maybe because I heard a lot about the place. Positive feedbacks, praises, etc.
Ang pansit? pansit tagapo could make better pansit than that.
Ang Tuna sandwich? I could make that one on my own.
Siguro satisfied ako kung mura lang sya.

March 18 - the day we've all been waiting for.

November 2010 pa lang, decided na kami na pupunta kami sa Ilocos. And start of the year pa lang, booked and paid na lahat ng kailangan namin para sa trip na ito... Sinong may sabing HEKSAYTED kami?

9pm call time.
at dahil nga hindi naman kami HEKSYATED, e on time kami. hahaha!

By 11 pm, nasa terminal na kami ng bus. FARINAS TRANS (dahil eto ang pinakamura)..

***Farinas Trans has no terminal inside Vigan.

Laoag ang byahe and since dadaan naman ng Vigan, eto na pinili namin.

Mabilis ang byahe dahil gabi naman. Sabi 8hrs daw. pero tingin ko wala pang 7 hours yun kung walang stop over. And info nga pala, aircon bus ang sinakyan namin. hindi deluxe, CR lang daw kasi pinagkaiba (yung isa meron, yung isa wala). Mura ang bus fare (yeah) pero inform ko lang din kayo na may kalumaan na yung bus nila. Hindi naman tumirik. pero yung mga upuan sira. Reclining nga, automatic naman. Kahit ayaw mo magrecline, kusa syang bumababa.. well, di naman lahat ng upuan. hehe. saka nung umandar na, yung ibang upuan tumutunog. parang maluwag sa turnilyo or sira na ang spring (whatever!)

Yun lang. hehehe.

Anyway, tama na ang pang-ookray sa bus.

Madami naman choices kung bus din lang pag-uusapan.

Ayun, after less than 8 hours, e dumating na kami sa last stop over ng bus which is in Bantay Ilocos Sur. Tingin ko 5 minutes na lang bababa na kami dapat, e tumigil pa yung bus. =P

We got off at Petron Station in Bantay, as suggested by one of the PExers... And from there, (ay hindi kami nagpahinga) sinimulan na namin ang ILOCOS TRiP!!!!!!!! =D

FIRST STOP: BANTAY CHURCH and BELL TOWER

Solve naman sa kodakan kahit pagod sa byahe... hehe..

Sa harap mismo ng simbahan may pila na ng tricycle kaya walang problema ang transportation. We were 9, kasya na sa 2 tricycles. hehehe. mura lang naman ang pamasahe. 10 pesos each.

Few minutes lang nakarating na kami sa Villa Angela where we chose to stay.

Villa Angela has 99.99% positive feedback. and I think the only negative feedback i read was intentionally done by probably one of its competitors in the place . hehehe. chismis. naiisip ko lang naman yun kasi talagang magaganda lahat ng iba kong nabasa unlike sa iba kong choices pa. The main reason why I chose this place and the rooms as well is because of the ambiance. Feel na feel talaga... kulang na maging Sepia ang tingin ko sa paligid. May mga mas murang rooms. pero mararamdaman ko bang nasa Vigan ako kung sa double deck ako tutulog? hehe... Boarding house lang yun... Tingin ko naman hindi ako nagkamali. Super satisfied talaga ako sa facilities, food and services nila.

Dalawang rooms ang na-book ko. Pero sa laki ng room (at dahil na din sanay naman kami sa siksikan) pwede na kami sa isa. sayang, tipid sana. hehehe

We paid 6000 for the rooms.

Yung isa as in malaki talaga. may 3 beds. yung 2, kasya na ang dalwa, yung 1 kasya na 3 or 4. at maluwag pa sa sahig. hehehe... the other room (smaller), magkakasing laki na yung bed. ok din naman. =)

By the way, check in time is 2pm pero we came at around 830AM. hehehe. ok naman. We had to stay in just one room at first kasi may tao pa sa kabila.

at in fairness talaga, ambilis nila maglinis. Tuwing papasok ako ng CR linis agad. kahit yung ibang areas. kaya, after umalis ng mga tao sa kabilang room, nakalipat na din yung iba samin.

IN SHORT, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ANG VILLA ANGELA.

Kumain kami sa tabi-tabi. Brunch na kasi 10AM na eh. ok naman. malaki na ang gutom kaya sulit ang kain... =) We tried empanada.

Habang naglalakad after ng photoshoot, natisod...este...nakasalubong namin ang mga magigiting na kutsero sa Vigan at inalok kami ng Tour for 150 pesos per hour, which is the regular rate based on my research (hindi ako pwedeng dayain! November pa ko nag-research! wahaha!)

*Burgos Museum (Where Fr. Burgos once lived) - closed sya.. sabi ni Manong kasi daw Saturday...

* Baluarte - kung saan hindi ako pumasok after makita na ang magwewelcome sa amin ay mga pabo...x.x

After that, we went back to Villa Angela to get MORE REST. hehe

Nagpahinga na lang muna kami at bumalik sa Calle Crisologo nung madilim na. Ang gaganda kasi ng photos of Vigan at night na nakita ko sa internet.

Sadly, wala akong picture dahil lowbat si camera...

So Proceed na lang tayo sa day2.

We passed by Burgos Lighthouse and Bangui Windmills but we didn't stop. Ang plan ko kasi day 3 namin puntahan yun kasi madami pa naman kami time sa araw na yun. Tingin ko kasi nakakapagod ang mga pupuntahan namin on day 2, so para muka naman kaming fresh sa ibang pictures e day 3 na lang ang Light house at wind mills. Saka para iba na yung outfit pag nag-picture taking. hahahaha

ok...

Next stop sa aming tour ay ang Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. Di pa ata Pagudpud yun. Di ako sure. Icorrect nyo na lang ako. Pero as far as I can remember, narating namin yun before ang arko ng Pagudpud. hehe

Sabi ni Mang Arnel, may entrance fee daw dun pero since wala naman yung bantay, libre na lang. hehe

Akala ko yun na ang pinakamatinding pagsubok na dadaan ko sa araw na yun. di pa pala... pero sobrang enjoy! ang ganda! tama nga sila. parang nasa ibang bansa...

We did not stay that long because many vehicles (buses, trucks, etc) pass by the road. There were also other people, so after taking some pictures we proceeded with our next destination.

NEXT STOP: AGUA PARADISO

Perfect para sa photo shoot ang lugar. Parang di kami nasiyahan sa mga batong dinaanan namin sa Kapurpurawan at pati mga bato sa agua paradiso na-invade namin.

It is really beautiful. Now I know why it's called Agua Paradiso...

We spent around 20 minutes in the place. It is not a big area but there are a lot of corners where you can take really really good pictures (both of the scenery and yourself).

We also stopped by at Paraiso ni Anton. Actually, bukal lang yung nakita namin kaya di kami nagtagal. Yun pala, may healing powers daw yung tubig dun. Di man lang nakainom. (wala lang. hehe)

We also passed by the ship wreck... wala lang din... sana maubos na yun ng mga nag-jjunk shop para kumita sila at di dumumi yung dagat.

Our next destination is Timangtang Rock. May entrance fee which is good for the visit to Timangtang Rock, Bantay abot and Blue Lagoon...

We saw this rock from afar and we thought 'there is nothing special or grand about it'.

We asked Mang Arnel to just skip this place since we still have other places to visit and it's already 3pm, but he insisted. He explained "kailangan nyo po yang puntahan. kasi magkapareha po sila nung kabilang bato. yan yung lalaki," (us = puzzled) "at yung isa yung babae" pointing at Bantay Abot Cave.

And after analyzing what he said, we finally got what he was trying to say.. oo nga naman.. (kaw, gets mo?)

So after picture taking with LALAKI, we headed to the BABAE: Bantay Abot Cave.

From there we also learned that Bantay means Bundok and Abot means Butas. Hahaha! yown naman pala!

Our next stop was Mairaira beach or Blue Lagoon... The place was very photogenic . Just by looking at the blue waters and white sand, i feel refreshed already.

We also asked Mang Arnel to take us nearer the Dos Hermanos Island. But he said it is best viewed from afar. So we moved on to our next destination which is KABIGAN FALLS.

The place was beautiful as well. but going there, i consider as Torture. Plastic ang tsinelas ko. at bawat tapak ko as in madulas talaga. hay... And it was not just a 10 to 15 minute walk. I am pretty sure it was more than 20 minutes. There was even a point where I decided to just walk barefoot. But nevertheless, the view of the falls took my stress away.

It was almost 6pm when we finished our trip in Kabigan Falls. We wanted to see the sunset at the beach but I know then that it was already too late. We drove to Pagudpud proper for some food and then headed to NorthRidge at Saud beach.

After our dinner, we just laughed our selves to sleep with the loads of pictures we've taken during the past two days. Stolen shots were hilarious! hahahahahahahahaha! (won't run out of laughs for them!)

by 5AM, I was already awake. Actually i don't know if I really slept or just closed my eyes the whole night. Anyway, I got off the bed at 5AM and...

watched the moon.

It was so bright. And because it is still dark around beach, all i could see were the silhouettes of the trees and rocks by the beach. The ocean shows the reflection of the moon. It was dramatic. Just couldn't get the drama into the photos.hehe

Few more minutes, few more photos, and skies lit up little by little. It revealed the beautiful shore of Saud Beach.

FYI, mabato ang dalampasigan sa harap ng Northridge. Not suitable for swimming, I think. Pero maganda sya kung para sa photo shoot. hehe. anyway, pwede naman lakarin ang kahabaan ng Saud para makahanap ng part na maganda ang sand. That's what we did. =)

By 11AM, It's time to leave Pagudpud.

We ate at a nearby Carinderia before continuing the tour. May Part 3 pa! hehehe.

We're off to Bangui Windmills!

They were BIIIIIIIIGGGGG! I love them... hahaha..

We stayed for awhile since it's too early for our next destination. So there were alot of candid shots for the nth time...hehe.. Then we headed to the Bangui View Deck where one would see not only the wind turbines but the whole of Bangui farm fields and shore line.

Few minutes more then were off to the long, winding, steep, high (whatever) road to the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse... (Someone tell me please why it is called Cape Bojeador. I don't know what it means... hehe)

And since it was still early (not later than 3 pm I think), we decided to drop by Robinson's Ilocos Norte for the finale merienda...

We were still too early for our flight but we didn't mind... hehe.. Before Mang Arnel and Mang Rodel left, they took a picture of us (aaaaawwww, how sweet...) I'll surely miss them. And i'll surely miss Ilocos... It was an awesome experience!

It was cool surviving the trip. Not that it's too dangerous. There were just a lot of things going on around us. Earthquakes, Tsunami, earthquakes again... One realization: Go Out and Experience Life. You might not have that same chance tomorrow. (naks. may realization).

But it's true... Naalala kong pinipigilan pa ko ng nanay ko na umalis dahil may lindol, tsunami at kung ano ano pa. Baka daw may mangyaring kung ano sakin. And I told her, that's exactly why I'm gonna pursue this. I might miss this chance, forever. Kawawa naman ako. hehe

first time sa plane! weeeeeehhhh!

In about an hour after take off, I'm back in Manila.. haaaay! i love the feeling. Sana makamove-on pa ko. hehehehe.

I love Ilocos!

For a moment ay nakalimutan kong may blog ako at kailangan syang iupdate..
But I'm back ... and happy. hehehe

Hindi napigilan ng series of earthquake ang matagal ko ng hinintay na gala: ILOCOS!
Syempre si Manong Arnel ang kinuha naming Tour guide (hindi driver, kasi may kasama syang driver, so tour guide sya =)) At totoo nga na mabait sya. At alam kong naman na mapagkakatiwalaan sya base na rin sa mga blogs and feedbacks na nabasa ko online. Super thanks kay Ms. Chyng at sa blog nya.. mula ng mabasa ko ang entry nya regarding her Ilocos trip, nagstart na ko mag-hunt ng murang plane ticket papunta dun.. at sa wakas, natuloy na nga (kahit di masyadong mura yung plane ticket). THE BEST TRIP I'VE EVER HAD!

Much awaited ang gala na 'to kasi andaming stressors and i badly needed a break. Actually, lahat kami were really looking forward to this. I was with my 8 college buddies na game na game sa galaan. Kahit na busy sa work, November pa lang, nafinalize na namin na magkakasama kami papunta dun. Sayang, madami pang hindi nakasama. Next time na lang kayo guys. Kawawa naman ang credit card ko pag masyado tayo madami. hehehe

At long last, may entry na din ako this January.

It took me a long time before mag-post ulit just because
I am waiting for something good to happen.
I was waiting for a good news to share.
I was hoping that I would be able to accomplish at least one of my goals this year.

I was hoping for a new job.

Well, that did not happen.

But I got something better!!!

I will start my new business.
Details to follow guys.
But I hope I'd get support from all the bloggers passing by here.

The Probinsyana in me went again for a Looking-for-the-building challenge at Makati.

My feet still hurt right now and I know I have to take a bath right after I finish this post. Nasagap ko na ata lahat ng alikabok sa kalsada with my city adventures earlier. I filed a vacation leave so that I could attend to the mandatory seminar PAG-ibig is conducting for housing loan applicants.

No, I am not buying a new house. I just have to apply for a housing loan. ok? =P

I was expecting that I'd be walking around the streets of Makati. I ran.
I was late, a few minutes late encountering all the obstacles a person (who is really in a hurry) can encounter. I got off the jeep at Jollibee near Carmona Exit thinking that since it is near the exit, I'd find a lot of buses going to Ayala. *WRONG*.

Bawal magsakay dito. Anlaki ng tarpaulin. oh men!
I saw a jeepney going to Alabang. I jumped in.
Hinuli ni Manong LTO. tsk. tsk.
Finally got off at Alabang. Medyo naligaw ligaw pa. Naghabol ng Bus sa gitna ng daan.
Lucky me: Hindi air conditioned. Kumusta naman ang buo buo kong buhok na humahampas sa mukha ko.

Ayala, Finally!
1:20 I arrived at The Atrium of Makati. Of course that was after a little Marathon (on my own) along the streets.

I was late, but they still let me in to the seminar room.
Actually, madami din ibang late - Filipinos, Filipinos. (haha. Don't look at me. madami po akong pinagdaanan today)

I actually learned a lot. And now I know why they are requiring this seminar. This is very useful for first time applicants. They get to know all the requirements, the whole process, the payment methods and other stuffs.

After the seminar, this whole process became really clear for me. (Nanay ko kasi, pag nageexplain puro "ano" lang nasasabi). hehehe

Galilee Place Adventures

My friends and I badly needed to unwind. We couldn't wait for the Christmas vacation. And we really really cannot wait for the Summer.

So here goes our sweet escape.

We wanted a different kind of adventure. Manonood sana kami ng ASAP XV live kaya lang bawal na daw pumila. So we needed tickets. Akalain bang fully booked na until next year.. So we thought maybe we can have a nature trip na lang.

On top of the list was La Mesa EcoPark, but since hindi na tuloy ang ASAP and it is a weekend, most of my friends would be going home from Manila to Batangas, so we decided to look for a place there.

Bluroze farm is our second option. But it's a little bit pricey.

A lot of internet research led me to Galilee Place in Mataas na Kahoy and I immediately sent a message to the number I saw from their website.

They currently have other guests but will be leaving very soon. Which means we will be paying for the cheapest room. But we'll be enjoying the whole place, including the swimming pool, on our own.

Medyo kulang na ko sa oras kasi we'll be leaving that same day. Working saturday ko pa man din yun. kaya wla akong ginawa sa office kundi mag-research ng place (sorry boss!)

5:30pm. Uwian na.

By 7:30, nag-meet kami sa SM lipa. Had donut for dinner.

Since hindi ako prepared sa swimming, we bought clothes at the department store. haha.

After buying food and drinks, we headed to Galilee.

It was already 9:15pm when we got off at Kanto ng Longos. According to my contact at Galilee i just need to ride a tricycle when I get to Longos. Gabi na. and unlike Manila, or any other cities, ang mataas na kahoy ay isang payak na bayan lamang sa Batangas Eh! It was dark, quiet, and scary (at least for me.) After just a minute, which I felt was an hour, may dumating na na tricycle.

Babaratin ko pa sana sa singil nyang 50 pesos. Pero nung umaandar na, i realized "over pala sa layo!"

So instead of giving 50, ibinigay na namin yung tatlong bente kay manong driver.

After driving along the dark, scary, winding road, we reached the place. madali sya makita kasi nasa tabi ng daan pero super layo talaga. although semented yung daan, gubat talaga ang paligid.

GALILEE PLACE

9:40PM

It was dark but the place was well lighted.

The gate was open.

There was a guard house but no one was there.

Radio playing a sweet love song... a familiar one (hmmm).

"tao po... tao po..."

No answer.

We walked in. While on the drive way, pa-tingin tingin sa paligid hoping to see someone welcoming us.

Wala.

~that time, we felt we were on the intro scene of a classic Filipino horror movie. Swear. (i was scared.hehe)~

"tao po..." We finally reached the main house. The door was also open.

A few seconds later, a lady came out... hindi po sya kuba or bampira. don't worry.

I was happy to see her. (yey! horror movie scene is over.) She was very accommodating. Very friendly. She led us to our room which was on a separate building. Small but good enough for the four of us. It is called the attic room kasi nasa attic sya.hehe. madaming rooms dun sa third floor. On the second floor was a Function area, open space. Then on the ground floor was another function hall, airconditioned. Then there are also family villas, cottages, swings, and a tree house! May open space din sa middle for outdoor activities. Pang larger groups talaga ang place.

Of course, we took photos all around kahit gabi na. Si ateng mabait even allowed us to pose inside the office on the main house.haha!

Kahit madilim at medyo natatakot kami. oks pa rin!

We slept at 2am ata.

We headed to Lipa and went straight to the best Lomihan we know in the area.

Not the waves

I was still a student when I reached Marinduque. In other words my parents financed the travel cost. Hehe

We went there for an activity organized by the Office of Student Affairs. And being the “kaladkarins” that we are, our whole group joined. Exciting!

The semester has just started and we were all unprepared. But who cares, we knew this will be a fantastic one. The trip was scheduled on the first weekend of the Semester so I had to go home by the middle of week to get some things and of course, the money.

We traveled during the night so that we’ll arrive early morning.

I won’t post pictures of our night travel (super haggard. hehe)

As the sun rises (although we can’t see it since it is very cloudy and I think we were on the western part), islands around us became visible.

-Why are we here-

Upon arrival at the port, we still took a few minutes ride going to 3 E's Love Bay Beach Resort where we will be staying.

3 E's Love Bay Beach Resort is situated at Barangay Amoingon, Boac, Marinduque, Philippines.

The real reason why we were in Marinduque was to have some fun. Hehe joke lang.

We went there for a leadership training, which was also FUN!!!

The organizers did not run out of activities from the time we arrived until night time.

We even had a short awarding ceremony by the shore under the stars. Saya!

-Side trip-

We were there for the activity. But could we miss pasalubong shopping and a little tour?

No. hehe

So the next day, we went to the town proper where all the pasalubongs can be found.

and visited the Boac Cathedral.

The waves were strong. May Bagyo. But most of us still enjoyed the ride.

*I said ‘most of us’, kasi ako I did not enjoy that much. Nakakahilo kaya.*

I did enjoy watching them be walk around like drunk men as the waves hit the vessel.

hahaha!

One passenger even yelled at us “mamamatay na, enjoy na enjoy pa.”

-But thinking about it…. Isn’t it better to enjoy before you die rather than just sulk at the corner. Right?

Even the waves can't stop us from posing for a photo and having fun.

Run for Pasig: I thought I'd give it a try

I was never the sporty type. Really. Really. Really. A lot of my friends know that, for sure.

But this time is different.

Being a first timer, I wasn't confident that I can finish the run. I am happy I did and it was not really that difficult. I actually enjoyed. Siguro kasi madaming tao sa paligid, all running (happily. hehe). And siguro dahil madami namang mas mabagal tumakbo compared to me, so I felt like I'm a good runner (wahahaha!). And siguro dahil na din sa reason why I am with all these people.

So here goes my 101010 Run for Pasig Experience!

Pueblo Por La Playa Experience

Never thought Pagbilao has these very beautiful shores…

I have been to Quezon many many times since that is my mother’s hometown…. But Alabat Island shores are very different from Pagbilao… I was already wondering if Pagbilao is near Boracay (joke).

We found this place named Pueblo Por La Playa at Pagbilao. This is an exclusive Mexican inspired residential and country club. But we were able to enjoy the beauty of the place and their facilities by paying some additional charges (i am assuring you the additional charge was worth it!).

The sand is white and fine.

Pagbilao shores really have white sands but the sand here is finer. The tour guide from Pueblo says that the developer/owner of the place added whiter sands to extend the shore line (artificial shore. yes. but it made the place more beautiful).

We also went island-hopping… and we found this small beach on the other side of Pagbilao.

It’s shoreline couldn’t be more than 500 meters i think.. The sand is very fine almost powdery…

I think the beach is called kwebang lampas…beautiful hidden paradise….

sorry. i dont have photos of the rooms of Pueblo from the inside. but outside, it is also beautiful and colorful…

Just outside Pueblo is a floating resto… of course their specialties are seafoods.. and i can say that their sinigang na hipon is just superb!

Can you imagine all the waiters delivering the food from the shore to our tables using that bamboo bridge? they don’t… there are waiters on the floating huts to take our orders. then they call the cooks from the shore so they can prepare our orders… then the staffs from the shore load the foods on an airplane… no joke. it was an airplane. well, it’s more like a pulley disguised as an airplane… sorry i dont have a picture. it’s such a cute clever piece… saves time and energy for the waiters…

by the way, the resto’s name is Silangang Nayon.

Sunset at Calatagan

We only stayed at Playa Calatagan for about two hours. Two Hours Only! Well, that was because we were just having a tour slash ocular inspection for the venue of our summer escapade this 2010. Playa Calatagan is definitely one in the top list. It is an exclusive residential resort still on its development phase. I think. but companies and large groups can rent the pool area. They already have complete facilities: pools, cabanas, bathrooms, bars, dining halls, etc. But there are no residential houses yet. So mostly, it is still surrounded with greenery… I already forgot the names of the people who toured us around the place but I heard from them that the plan is also to have a hotel within the place so more people can stay longer. Currently, there are no rooms at Playa Calatagan which most of the time discourages the people to stay longer. That is also one of the reasons why we didn’t choose the for our Summer outing venue (We chose Pueblo Por La Playa). But I still think the place is worth blogging. I liked the place.

The pool was huge… cabanas surround it…

But it does not end to just being a huge pool. it leads to a river pool…also with cabanas and jacuzzis on its every curve…

After the river pool is the kiddie pool and after it is the bathroom and locker area… That rock-formation-like thing in the middle of the pool is a kiddie slide, you know…

The pool area is very near to the beach which i also liked. The sand is not that white and fine…

But the sunset view is very dramatic…. really…

Elbi gala: EPIC FAIL

With nothing to do... I need to plan a "gala".

Summer na wala pa kaming napupuntahan.

I thought of a place na medyo malapit lang and all we have to do is stroll around. So we don't need to bring props and costume for it (theater??? i mean, you know.)

At eto na nga, i heard UPLB is a good place para tumambay at magkwentuhan.

Places to visit at UPLB:

1. Freedom Park

2. Botanical Gardens

3. Flatrocks

ganyan ang ineexpect kong makita.

After thorough research (or so i thought), excited na ako. So I invited my friends na kahit anong mangyari ay hindi umaatras sa galaan. As in "no matter what".

Meeting place was Jollibee Calamba at Crossing. Then we rode the jeepney at Terminal with sign board "campus".

Akala ko malapit lang... hindi pala. Munitk na din kaming bumaba sa mga nadaanan naming mga resorts (buti na lang wala kaming dalang costume. haha).

At long last, nakarating na din sa University of the Philippines Los Baños. Medyo napagod na ang mga kasama ko dahil medyo mahaba ang byahe at galing pa sila sa Batangas. I thought, kailangan magenjoy naman sila. So off we go - to what I thought was a great adventure.

"Guys, let's just walk para maenjoy natin ang nature" sabi ko.

Di ko naman alam na ganun kalayo.

pakititigan na lang po ang mga suot namin...

pagdating namin sa Forestry... "saan ba yung flatrocks dito? hmmm..."

There were i think 3 old men on a shed right after the entrance to Forestry. So we decided to ask.

Di ko naman alm na papaulanan kami ng sermon ni Manong.

" Flat rocks?! di kayo pwede dun! yang mga ichura nyong nyan. (ano po bang ichura namin?) Di pwede yang suot nyo. Saka Malinta dun ngayon.Naku!!!"

"E yung botanical garden po kaya?"

"ayan ang botanical garden." Pointing to his far right. "Pero di kayo pwede ngayon pumasok jan ...(semplang) Under construction yan ngayon e.... blah blah..."

at iipis-ipis na kaming lumayo kay manong...

in short... SABLAY ang gala na ito.

Pero dahil mababaw naman ang kaligayahan namin, we still enjoyed.

We've always been celebrating our friendship every Valentines Day. Don't get me wrong, we're not loveless or dateless people during Valentines Day (although sometimes, some of us are.hehe). We are just good with time management. haha.

After our graduation, of course we've all been busy with our own lives and there were less gala, less chika, less kita-kita.

2010. We still go out some times (if schedules permit), but that old Valentine Celebration is different and I am missing it. How I wish things are as easy as they were before.

I miss you my friends.
