The Leisure Society starring supermodel Agyness Deyn has announced that it will extend its London west end run at Trafalgar Studios Two due to the overwhelming interest from the public.

The supermodel will star alongside Ed Stoppard in the comedy play, which arrives in the West End at Trafalgar Studios Two at the end of next month.

The Leisure Society was written by the award-winning Montreal playwright François Archambault, and is a play about a self-obsessed yuppie couple whose luxurious lives suddenly spiral out of control when a dinner party transforms into a complete drunken night of debauchery.

Deyn will make her London stage debut as a promiscuous free spirit alongside Melanie Gray, John Schwab and Stoppard who is returning to the west end stage having previously starred in Hamlet, Arcadia and The Glass Menagerie.

The Leisure Society was due to play until 24th March, but will now run until 31st March 2012.

Abigail's Party, possibly writer and director Mike Leigh's most famous and acclaimed comedy play will return to the west end at the Menier Chocolate factory with a run from March 2nd this year with tickets now on sale online.

Abigail's Party is set in quiet suburbia in the 1970's where Beverly and her husband Laurence are hosting a small drinks party for their neighbours. There is plenty of booze, an array of nibbles, cheese-pineapple savoury bites and olives, and Demis Roussos on the record player. But as the drink flows, prejudices are unmasked, tempers flare and the evening seems to be heading for disaster.....

Mike Leigh's classic comedy Abigail's Party will be directed by Lindsay Posner, who recently directed Noises Off at the Old Vic. Her other credits include: Butley, A View from the Bridge, and Fiddler on the Roof. The role of the infamous Beverly in this new production will be played by Jill Halfpenny, who won an Olivier Award in 2011 for her role as in Legally Blonde as Paulette. Jill is also well known for her TV roles on EastEnders, Waterloo Road and Blue Murder

West end stage show Legally Blonde will finish it's fantastic three year run at the Savoy Theatre in London on April 7th 2012.

Legally Blonde The Musical turned the Savoy Theatre into a pink haven to host the stage adaptation of the 2001 movie, following a successful run on Broadway. The west end production of the stage show opened to 4 star reviews in January 2010 with Paul Taylor of the Independent declaring: "I had thought snootily that the stage show of Legally Blonde might put the "ugh" in "euuuugh!" But omigod was I like totally blown away."

The show is set in the prestigious halls of Harvard Law School and the colourful rooms of the equally colourful Elle Woods's sorority house, Legally Blonde The Musical follows Elle as she pledges to lay down her credit cards and hit the law books in order to win back the heart of her ex-boyfriend Warner.

The stage show production has a musical score and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin with catchy songs including Omigod You Guys, So Much Better and Whipped Into Shape.

Sheridan Smith, who originated the lead role of Elle Woods, won widespread critical acclaim for her portrayal of the fluffy, scatty but gutsy blonde, winning the much lauded Musical Olivier award for Best Actress.

Current stars of the show at the Savoy, Carley Stenson, Stephen Ashfield and Ben Freeman, as well as original cast member Peter Davison, will continue in their roles until the musical finishes its west end run in April.

Fans of Legally Blonde will be delighted to hear that the show will continue its national tour and plans are in place for an Australian production which should open in Sydney later this year.

NT Wins 5 Gongs At Critics' Circle Awards

More than half the awards on offer at today’s Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards went to productions from the National Theatre, which triumphed in five of the nine categories.

Danny Boyle’s Frankenstein triumphed in two categories, with War Horse, Sherlock and Benedict Cumberbatch, soon to star in The Hobbit named Best Actor and Mark Tildesley crowned Best Designer.

Cumberbatch’s win sees the actor following up his success at the ES Theatre Awards, where he was named Best Actor alongside Jonny Lee Miller, his Frankenstein co-star with whom he shared the roles of Dr Frankenstein and his creation.

The awards saw Richard Bean, (winner, Best New Play for One Man, Two Guvnors), Sheridan Smith, (winner, Best Actress for Flare Path) and Mike Leigh, (winner, Best Director for Grief), also left the ceremony today at the Prince of Wales theatre having continued an award-winning run which began at last years Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

Completing the National Theatre's quintet of awards, Alecky Blythe's production, London Road about the Ipswich murders, was also named Best Musical.

The Critics’ Circle’s Most Promising categories saw The Kitchen Sink playwright Tom Wells named Most Promising Playwright, with director Blanche McIntyre winning the Most Promising Newcomer award for her productions of Accolade and Foxfinder at the Finborough Theatre.

Previous Most Promising Newcomer winner Eddie Redmayne continued his ascent to the higher eschelons of the acting community by picking up the Best Shakespearean Performance Award for Richard II at the Donmar Warehouse.

The Wizard Of Oz will welcome Russell Grant, on February 14th at the London Palladium as he takes over from Michael Crawford in the hit west end stage show. Grant, who actually began his career as an actor before making his name as the king of horoscopes, and was thrust back into the TV limelight when he partnered Flavia Cacace on the BBC's dance show, winning the hearts of the public with his enthusiastic dance routines.

"I am thrilled to be back where I'm at my happiest - in showbiz!" Grant commented. "I want to thank the great British public for their kindness in supporting me in Strictly: without them, I wouldn't be back in the West End again."

Also departing from The Wizard Of Oz to return to the real world in February is the current Dorothy, the Over The Rainbow winner Danielle Hope who will be replaced by the runner-up in the BBC talent show and current alternate Dorothy Sophie Evans.

British theatre impressario Andrew Lloyd Webber is to return to our TV screens as he attempts to unearth a new star performer to lead the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar.

But the man behind spectacular stage shows including The Phantom Of The Opera, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Love Never Dies and Cats has now parted company with the BBC and will showcase his new search for a star via rival television channel ITV.

The TV show will be titled Superstar and will audition both professional and amateur performers from all across the UK in the hope of finding an actor to lead the cast of a brand new arena tour of the now legendary rock opera stage show Jesus Christ Superstar.

Theatre owner, composer and producer Andrew Lloyd-Webber commented on the project: "Presenting a new, 2012 version of Jesus Christ Superstar for arenas is truly exciting. Some of the best performances of this show have been in rock venues and I'm thrilled to see the show return to its roots. ITV is providing the perfect platform for us to find a new, British Superstar."

Superstar will be the fifth time that Andrew Lloyd Webber has made the public part of his casting process, following the success of his previous TV shows How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, Any Dream Will Do, I'd Do Anything and Over The Rainbow which has now made household names of Connie Fisher, Lee Mead, Jodie Prenger and Danielle Hope, who is currently starring at the London Palladium in The Wizard Of Oz and helped feed the buzz and interest around the whole of West End theatre.

Previous TV judges, working alongside the theatrical Lloyd-Webber , have included Sheila Hancock, Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman. No new judges names have as yet been confirmed for Superstar, however Lloyd Webber will once more be aided by a panel which, as with fellow ITV talent shows Britain's Got Talent and X Factor, will judge all auditionees performing on stage before a live and lively audience.

Eve Myles of BBC Torchwood fame is to take to the West End stage this spring. She will join Zach Braff and Susannah Fielding in comedy All New People at the Duke Of York's Theatre in London.

The comedy play, which is also written by Braff, will play at the Duke of York's theatre from February and focuses on a 35-year-old man trying to hide away from the world on his birthday. The west end production of the play is directed in the west end production by Peter DuBois.

All New People will mark Eve Myles's return to the London stage after having seen her profile rise since taking the role of Gwen in the BBC Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood in 2006. Before her TV sci-fi fame, Myles had performed with the RSC, winning plaudits for her 2003 performances in Titus Andronicus and The Taming Of The Shrew, and at the National Theatre, where she starred opposite Matthew Macfadyen and Michael Gambon in Henry IV Pt I and II.

Speaking about her role in the play, Myles said: "I'm delighted to have been cast as the character of Emma in such a well anticipated and funny play. Having concentrated on TV work recently I'm excited to be returning to the stage and I'm very much looking forward to working with Zach."

Fielding, like Myles, has also previously worked with both the RSC and the National Theatre, as well as appearing in TV show Doctor Who.

Zach Braff, best known for his role as doctor JD in hit American TV comedy Scrubs, and plays the lead role in his own play in which the depressing birthday, which he wishes to be spent in complete solitude, is interrupted by a parade of misfits who somehow all find themselves entangled at a beach house.
