Hi Friends, I am Priya Sane persuing B.Tech from JNTU Hyderabad. On 26 april a campus drive was conducted in my college and The Consagous Technologies Pvt. ltd. came for the recruitment. There were 3 rounds which include:

Written Test:

It consists of 45 questions which were supposed to be completed in 45 mins. i.e 1 ques in 1 min. Ques were not very tough. It includes questions related to SDLC, aptitude questions, DI and some reasoning. Some questions that I remember were:

After written test around 55 students were shortlisted and went through second round which was GD round.

GD Round:

          In this round group of 10 students each went through group discussion process. Topics were as follows:
1. Is China a threat for Indian Software Industry?
2. Is India a Soft Nation?
3. Arrange marriage Vs Love marriage
and many other topics related to social issues..

After GD round around 15 students were shortlisted. Then the next round was Technical and HR interview. Both the interviews were conducted separately. Those who cleared Technical round were allowed to proceed to HR interview immediately.

Technical Interview:

                  In this round technical questions were asked. There was a panel of 3 HRâ€™s interviewing candidates. Some of the questions were:

2. What is session and Cookies: which I answered, then they asked some live example of session.
3. They asked 5 languages supported by .net framework

Finally I was forwarded for HR interview:

So,totally 45 from quant and 15 from english.

It was a nice morning. The reporting time given to our college was 1030. I reached there by 1000 am. There was a huge crowd there. There I came to know 2500 students registered from around 21 colleges some even called from Bhopal. The test was conducted in two sessions as there were two batches ones was at 830. We were not expecting but the paper given to both were same. So if u gets the second batch don’t forget to ask them. Only around 1800 gave the exam. Rest of the crowd retuned after seeing so much competition there. Finally my test started at 1230 around. A test of 75 minutes.. there was no ppt, no talks so is was not known whether there was a sectional cut off or not . the different sections were:

Reading comprehension
English

The sections were containing 20 question each. As told by the earlier batch that the first section is very tough. I kept it for the last. It was really a tough one. All the questions were following a pattern aptitude one . A paragraph (some logic, probability question) was given and based on the paragraph 3 questions were asked. If you able to understand the paragraph then only u can answer. I was able to solve only 3-4 rest flukes. Technical part was having simple SQL queries . Nothing relational database or Unix. Some oops concept. From “cohesion and coupling” of software engineering many questions were asked as per the data given. Like there was a module having large number of functions declared as private and three module?
What you will say about it ?

It was a little bit time consuming but simple.( around 5 questions) One was related to some lifetime policy. Age given person salary u have to find which policy will he take (a page covering flowchart) Don’t waste time in single section. U can switch as there may be sectional cut off. Two reading comprehension were so easy a you will definitely solve. Direct answers were given in paragraph no need to analyze. I Read questions first as less time was remaining. Some simple fill in the blanks like

Some article to be filled very simple. Other than the aptitude part rest of the paper was easy. In the technical part two questions from pointers, A code was given and it was asked for what purpose was it. It was of bubble sorting. The questions were in c language only. No negative marking. Out of 1400, 212 were selected for the next round which was better figure than that of the previous year. Half students send for technical and half for HR. if u clear one then only you can proceed for the other.

The aptitude consists of 4 parts i.e., verbal, Analytical Reasoning, logic and technical based on C & DS In Verbal they had Fill in the blanks, Verbal was easy.
In Analytical Reasoning, topic was probability, Venn diagrams. Its was easy but time management is what you need to take care.Logical was very easy ex:123456 123456 option was both are same, different, none Technical was bit tough. Topic was C and DS. He gave lengthy programs and asked from desire output Out 1200 around 400 cleared aptitude and was I of them.

They called for technical interview next day. It was around 11.30 A.M.

Technical Questions

1. A big code with lots of pointers. There was a struct which contained 2 arrays. Then an array of that structure was declared. The code used these structures and you had to find the values of a variable ‘j’ at various points inside the code.
2. A code which had some declarations of some data items. There were a couple of normal data items(char,int..) and some pointers as well and a malloc call. You have to find the total memory taken up in the stack(Hint:Pointers and all are allocated in heap, not in stack, so dont count them).Also in most of these questions, they were specifying that the OS was 32 bit.
3. A question on nesting of pointers. There was this pointer to a function which returned an array of char pointers…..You had to give the exact definition of the function.
4. Value of 2 particular variables in C(MAXINT and some other constant).
5. What do you need to do to open more than 10 files simultaneously in Microsoft Operating System? -change stdio.h/change CONFIG.SYS/compiler dependent.
6. A question on Macro( consisted of something like CTRL&037)

English the cut off may be around 30 don't waste your time at Reasoning. first do the english, programming and followed by tech, reasoning.343 cleared written. tr and panel interviews are tough and it also depend on your panel. may be u need to attend interviews at mid n8 as written, tr, hr are on same day. I completed my hr at 2am. this is my sixth company and m unable to clear written before that. never give up and be confident. all the best.

Hi, This is D.Alice Nickolina . I attended the 2 days TCS off campus held in Saveetha engineering college organized by Anna university . I am very happy to share my experience so that people can have a crystal cut idea to prepare for the interview Nearly 4000 students had participated and unfortunately only 85 of them was selected ,fortunately I was one among them, Thank god .TCS recruits students based on the following rounds conducted.

Aptitude Round:

Aptitude round is an online examination based upon the touchstone software .TCS has already published its test pattern in several websites and there are 70+ patterns to go through, if possible have a full view in permutation, combination, age problems, average, distance ,direct and indirect variations and some types of reasoning. There are totally 35 questions for 80 minutes. I did well and exactly by 5.30pm they announced the results, and totally 77 students were selected in the 1st slot and I was one among them!! Then we were asked to fill the TCS employee form and also given some instructions regarding the next round .

Technical Round, H.R Round

    * Next day the interview started at 10a.m in the auditorium. There were totally 20 panels and exactly by 11.45,I was asked to go to the 12th panel. There were 2 interviewers in my panel and they were very friendly and pleasing. It was for 20 minutes.
    * First I wished them individually with a good smile and they did so with the same. I gave my form along with the resume to one of them. He just had a look at my resume and form ,meanwhile the other one asked me to introduce my self and I just did. He asked me about the IT industry and also about TCS. I answered whatever I have known. Then one of the interviewer asked me for the certificates and I gave.
    * Then ,there started my time , asked me the subjects I have studied in the last semester. I do not know what happened to me ,I forgot everything and just gave a bright smile ,then started answering . he asked me around 10 to 15 questions from networks that comprises routers, switching, TCP, UDP, WAN, LAN, ranges , OSI layers, processor, main memory and secondary memory, rom , prom, eprom,eeprom etc. I answered all these questions to the bitter end.
    * Then they started asking about the project, I just explained the application with an example and they were so interested in knowing in detail but I said that the project was under study. They also asked me about my family. One of them explained about the 2years agreement , shifts ,location problem and asked me whether I am ready to accept and I simply said that I wish to do so. For the full interview they were very friendly, gentle, so patient while answering, respectable, and considerate. I was so amazed,the way they were .
    * And that was the end, they wished me good luck and I also wished them individually and moved out of the auditorium. Then we were informed that the results would be intimated via mail or through annauniv website. But that evening , by 7pm they announced the results ..praise be to god, I was selected as one among the 85.And I also came to know by annauniv website after 3 days.

So friends be determined, whether u know the answer or not, just be strong enough to face it and try as much as possible to impress the interviewer by your answers and be apparent in exposing urself and the most important is communication. Present your answers in a simple, crisp English. Don’t get tensed , be 100 % confident.
