Tigerlily

2015-02-21T05:49:00.000-08:00

After having to watch my spending for months on end for fear of not having enough money for food, I was finally able to let loose around Christmas time and get me some of that retail therapy. Thanks to a whirlwind of a shopping spree, a new personal favourite has been added to my wardrobe. As someone who is not really into bright colours, this wrap dress is a complete contrast to my usual monochromatic ensemble. Not to mention the floor reaching lengths of this dress is perfect for twirling and princess like moments.

Wearing: Tigerlily dress & Lipstik heels.

F*ck Diets

2015-02-17T07:07:00.000-08:00

I usually don't do midriff tops, but I had to make an exception. As soon as I spotted this halter-neck which so accurately displayed the one constant motto I have lived my life by; I knew I needed to own this garment. For those who know me, and know me well; you know I abhor vegetables ( and tomatoes) and anything remotely resembling a salad.

This purchase was definitely a win, and at $10, it was an absolute bargain.

Wearing: Top from Cheep, Topshop shorts, 10th Tribe cape, and Asos flatforms.

Off Duty Style in Somedays Lovin

2014-07-27T06:08:00.004-07:00

Kick'n back & relaxing.

Doing it Off Duty style in SOMEDAYS LOVIN.

This skirt is all kinds of thrills, with two splits at the front and two at the back.

Twice the fun and double the trouble.

A perfect trans-seasonal piece for the wardrobe. The skirt's best feature is the dual zips at the front which lets you adjust the length of the split. I can't wait to split this bad boy up and take it to the next level in summer.

Max level splits = Thrill seeker extreme.

Special thanks to somedays lovin for giving me the chance to enter their epic style challenge.

Bohemian Witch B*tch vs. Classic Elegance

2014-07-24T17:28:00.001-07:00

Bohemian Witch B*tch or Classic Elegance.

Which vibes are you feeling?

When I first spotted this dress on the sale rack at Kookai, I immediately thought bohemian witch or a lovely dinner date dress. If I had to choose, I'd opt for boho witch b*tch. However, there are occasions that occasionally crop up which require a dress which makes us feel pretty and sexy at the same time. This dress just does it for me. It's going to be a wardrobe staple and at only $70, it was a steal!

Silver layered accessories and chunky boots gives an easy, yeah I'm cool- What of it? kind of glam feeling to the look. Keeping accessories to a minimum with a sweet patent heel, in this case I could not go past my Jimmy Choos, and a silk scarf to hide the cleavage creates a tasteful aesthetic. Ain't nothing sophisticated about airing out your heaving bosoms in the wrong place and at the wrong time. Am I right ladies?

Winter in the City

2014-05-25T05:30:00.000-07:00

You should want a bad bitch like this

Drop it low and pick it up just like this

Cup of Ace, cup of Goose, cup of Cris

High heels, somethin' worth a half a ticket on my wrist

Takin' all the liquor straight, never chase that.

- Iggy Azalea

I've got Iggy on my mind, completely obsessed with this lady.

On a slightly more fashion related note, as if Iggy ain't fashion related enough, I'm so delighted to be amongst a host of bloggers selected to participate in the Winter 14 Wish Style Challenge. A more comfortable and climate balanced outfit has never existed, with the exception of having to actually walk around the city in high heeled boots. This slick red knit comes with side splits on either side which allows a peek of the layers underneath. If you're feeling brave enough to weather a cold draft, you could give a cheeky slice of skin to show. Paired with light as a feather silk shorts, a cute hat and chunky over the knee boots and I've now got my favourite winter outfit. For rainy days just throw on a black coat, the red is a beautiful standout in this outfit.

Outfit: Featuring Red knit jumper by Wish, Lace shorts from Lover, Tony Bianco OTK boots, Hat from Myer and bag by Mango.

Check out www.wish.com.au for more winter pieces to add to your wardrobe.

Thank you Wish and Honda Australia for letting me participate in this style challenge. It was a blast!

Outback Blues

2014-01-20T23:47:00.004-08:00

When you're on the road in near 40 degree heat in a car with no air-conditioner, do you cover up to protect your skin or expose yourself in hopes of letting your skin come into contact with a stray breeze?

I settled for an over sized chambray men's shirt with blue shorts to match.

Protect the upper body, sacrifice the legs and thank god for snap buttons. When the heat gets to be too much just rip open your shirt to expose the bikini underneath. Don't forget the sunscreen and a big hat.

Spent the weekend at Jurien Bay and oh my, what lovely beaches they have there.

Hot days and cool nights spent with family and partners, I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

What is your clothing solution when it's unbearably hot?

Please do tell! X

Christmas time is crazy hectic, between finding the right gifts for everyone and finding the right outfit for yourself to wear on Christmas day, who has time to post anything more than a quick snap on instagram?

For those lazy days where you wish you were already on holidays; why not try a lazy outfit?

Pair a printed tee with overalls and throw in some vans. Perfect for all that rushing around to get your shopping done.

Monochrome Style

2013-08-25T10:57:00.000-07:00

So, I've quit my job and have officially become a full time student, studying an Associate Degree in Fashion Business, and I've been hectically trying to find a part time job. It's been keeping me pretty busy for the time being hence the late style post.

The monochrome style is where I'm at right now, styling my two favourite items in my wardrobe at the moment.

A black and white check print top with my poodle jacket thrown over the top, kick-ass lace up boots and a hat because I was feeling fancy as ~~phuck~~.

Wearing: Top by Portmans, Poodle Jacket from Cooper St, hat from Dangerfield & boots by Novo.

Casual dressing

2013-08-11T10:13:00.001-07:00

I spent my Saturday traipsing through Leederville and checking out the gear that the little boutiques had to offer.

I found the perfect pair of black and white platform sandals to add to my shoe closet but they were out of my size.

< Insert instant look of horror>

The store clerk was kind enough to let me know that as soon as they get their new stock they will put it up on instagram.

Thank god for mod cons.

A girl cannot have too many shoes, ya know?

I also purchased the UNIF Yokel Shortalls in anticipation for the warmer weather to kick in.

I have a feeling that it'll be a S/S staple.

I wore a tee by DAAN and my new flatform sneakers (Topshop) which will be another S/S staple I'm sure.

I was also introduced to the Burger Bistro at lunch time where I tried their Big Beef Smoke with chips and tomato relish.

YUM.

Let Them Eat Cake

2013-07-25T21:00:00.004-07:00

Happy Friday everyone!

This pale blue jumper with its white text is the perfect way to start the weekend.

It allows you to stay warm while simultaneously letting everyone know that they are permitted to have their cake and eat it too.

After all, our time on earth is finite (unless you believe in reincarnation, but even so, it's hard to lace up them fine ass boots and consume copious amounts of baked goods when you're a butterfly),

So why not make the most of it?

Cake, anyone?

I paired this jumper with my white fringe skirt so that people realise that I am, in fact, wearing something underneath. Grab a clutch, add a hat and some heels and –voila!

A great outfit for those days where you just can't be bothered suffering for fashion.

Dance with me?

That ain't Cat Woman!

2013-07-18T19:46:00.002-07:00

Playing on the train tracks in Fremantle during a cold and cloudy day.

I spent the day with some cool kids, walking around Freo and laughing at who knows what.

I've been hitting up the monochrome look a lot recently.

So, I mixed it up a bit and added some colour with this spiked cat beanie and a plaid dress shirt.

You know... for when it gets too cold that it isn't worth showing off my tee and exposing bare arms, but in the mean time I'm taking a cue from the 90's and keeping the shirt wrapped around my waist.

Ahhh... the 90's.

I wonder what our hip-hop industry would be like now if Biggie Smalls and Tupac were still alive and kicking.

...annnd back to the topic on hand...

The dress shirt was stolen from my brother's wardrobe and has yet to be returned to him.

I think he's worn it all of once.

It's mine now.

Brandon, if you are reading this:

Cheers bro!

I popped into Generics last Saturday to grab the Fist of Fury gloves and had a little chat with the lovely Lisa Chau while browsing through an array of accessories. Unfortunately, they didn't have my gloves (yes, I mentally claimed them when I spotted them at the store opening party) in stock at the time but I did end up walking out with a new accessory.

I'm absolutely loving my new chunky necklace from Generics, it keeps the outfit on trend and adds a little bling.

Pulling faces is a natural reaction when a camera is pointed at me

What better way to start a Friday than a warm coffee in hand and pretty pictures to inspire you for the weekend?
Wildfox's Fall 2013 collection which was inspired by The Great Gatsby has me drooling over my keyboard. I am completely smitten with their pieces, not to mention it's given me a few ideas about how I want to spend my weekend.
So much excitement over here people!

GENERICS Accessories Opening Party

2013-07-08T23:50:00.003-07:00

Photo taken from WAtoday.com.au

Last Friday night I attended the opening party for the launch of Generics Accessories' new Northbridge space with a gal pal. It was awesome, we were provided with the option of mulled wine or juice (I opted for juice since I'm doing dry July) whilst DJ Raaghe provided some sweet beats to sway to. I did not do any swaying, I left that to the dancers from HOUSE of Ra that were performing in the window.

Generics boasted the quirky yet on trend accessories that has gotten the attention of Perthies as well as the debut collection from Bambi's clothing label House of Zaya. The prices are affordable and the pieces are awesome. First thing I'm grabbing is a pair of studded gloves that I've fallen in love with. I can't wait to go back there this Saturday and do a bit of shopping!

Wearing: Blazer with beaded lapels from Topshop, bustier from Nasty Gal, Discopants from American Apparel, bag from Topshop.

Black on Black on leather.

Has there ever been a sweeter combination?

Probably, but today I know nothing sweeter.

Wearing my new ANIMAAL 13 tee by Daan.

As I grab the shirt off the rack for a closer inspection of the size and cut of the tee, a girl appears next to me out of the blue.

"Daan is the new label created by Daniel Single who is the co-founder of Subi! I love that shirt, I bought one as soon as they arrived!", I'm told by an enthusiastic shop assistant.

I smile at her and nod my head in agreement that yes, it was, in fact, a nice shirt.

But this big brand name that this designer is currently the co-found of is not one I’ve ever heard of.

I racked my brain trying to recall if I’ve ever read or heard someone mention the label Subi.

Surely, as a fashion blogger I must have heard of this apparently major label!

HMM....SUBI.....SUBI.....

Nope! never heard of it.

As I walk to the change room to try this on, the lady takes one look at my shirt and smiles at me.

Yes, it seems she's a big fan of Subi too and is subsequently excited about this new venture so aptly named Daan.

It's a unisex shirt but I’m really digging it.

I head over to the counter to pay and I’m greeted by the guy behind the counter who also rattles off about the co-founder of this awesome Subi brand and how this new label is really awesome.

It's really great to see people so enthusiastic about an emerging brand but I’m still racking my brain about this brand Subi.

I get back to work and decide to look up Daniel Single.

OOOHHHHHH.

KSUBI!

I definitely know that brand. It just so happens that I’ve never heard anyone say the name out loud. I know the K is supposed to be silent but in my head when I say the name, I always imagine the K even if I don't pronounce it.

Chasing sunshine

2013-05-21T00:40:00.000-07:00

My friend and I hit the road for a Sunday drive down to Mandurah. We strolled around after having fish & chips for lunch and ended up at a pretty beach. We were lucky enough to have nice warm weather which was a welcome change from the cold days we've been having as winter approaches.

As the weather starts to get cooler, so does the palette of the coats on the A/W 13 runway.

From Pastels to brights, there's something here for almost everyone.

However, it's not all about the pastels this season. Fur has once again returned but this time it looks like some of the coats were put through a paint factory and the results were ultra-bright and shaggy fur coats.

A special nod to Altuzarra and Valentino for coming out with a spotted fur coat, and a black and white coat which is vaguely reminiscent of Cruella Deville's attire.

101 Dalmatians, anyone?

I find myself getting a little excited at the prospect of sporting (faux) fur this season.

Keep calm & act fierce

I have officially declared this dress The sack dress.

I'm sure it needs no explanation as to how or why I have named it as such.

I like to think the dress speaks for itself.

It's super comfy with twin ventilation cut outs on either side and if you're like me and lacking huge chesticles- You can go braless!

Super cool, super easy. There ain't nothing better than throwing on a dress, without that ridiculous contraption strapped to my chest, throwing on some cool kicks and walking out the door.

Turning Twenty Two

2013-03-21T20:38:00.000-07:00

I celebrated my 22nd birthday a few weeks ago with a few friends at a nightclub.

The alcohol was flowing, music pumping, and bodies shaking their thang.
It was a memorable night, that's for sure.

I partied the night away as if I was 18 again in this metallic knitted jumper and black slip from Kookai. I love the way it shines in the light, it gives a certain edge to what would otherwise be a basic jumper. For this outfit I kept the jewellery simple with my Tiffany & Co necklace and multiple silver rings, my Army Candy clutch and bright pink nails to add a touch of colour to an otherwise all black outfit.

Here is an example of how this outfit can be brought back with a simple change of footwear.

Oh how I love footwear. Perhaps, one day I shall post up my shoe collection. Then I'll finally be able to tell people that I do in fact own less than a hundred pairs of shoes and have the pictures to prove it. Oh how accusations run wild when dicussing the extensiveness of my shoerobe.

I can assure you though, it is not as extensive as I would like.

2012-12-29T04:16:00.001-08:00

Just kidding, I'll be away from decent internet connection for a bit longer than that, three weeks to be precise. I am currently holidaying in Thailand with family and reuniting with relatives. Today is actually the first time I have had the opportunity to sit in front of a laptop with an internet connection and who knows how long it will be before I next get the chance to do so again. So for now, my bog posts will be on hiatus and I will put up pictures when I get back home. Hope you all have a wonderful New Years and don't do anything you'll regret. XXX
