Some movies demand a review. Not because they are loud or marketed as “important,” but because they quietly stay with you long after the screen goes dark. Dhurandhar is one such film. The last time I felt this urge was after Maalik starring Fahadh Faasil—a film that trusted mood, character, and intelligence over noise.

Dhurandhar doesn’t announce itself loudly. It pulls you in with confidence and restraint, deeply aware of the world it is creating.

What struck me first was Akshaye Khanna. From Aa Ab Laut Chalein and Taal to the actor he is today, this is a journey of subtraction. In Dhurandhar, he doesn’t perform—he exists. Silence, pauses, and stillness become his tools. That’s not craft you learn overnight; it’s something audiences instinctively respect.

R. Madhavan continues his remarkable evolution. From Mani Ratnam’s romantic, idealistic student to the morally layered man we see here, he carries weight without ever pushing it. You believe his history even when it’s not spoken.

And then there is Ranveer Singh in Lootera. That was the moment he stopped being “a promising actor” and announced himself. There’s something within him—an honesty, a vulnerability—that commands respect without demanding attention. You don’t admire the performance; you trust it. That quality separates actors from stars.

Rakesh Bedi, like the finest character actors, simply does his job. No spotlight-hogging, no excess. And that’s precisely why the world of Dhurandhar feels authentic. Every supporting performance understands its place, allowing the story—not the actor—to lead.

Having grown up watching Hollywood political and CIA thrillers, films like State of Play came to mind—not in style, but in spirit. The focus here is on systems, not spectacle; on power structures, not punchlines.

The screenplay is sleek and confident. It goes deep into world-building—rooms feel lived in, conversations carry unspoken tension, and scenes unfold with purpose. You are never spoon-fed. You are trusted.

Dhurandhar is cinema that respects the audience—and in return, earns respect for itself.

Like Maalik and Lootera, it reminds us why some films don’t just deserve applause.

They deserve attention, reflection, and conversation.

Lokah: A Myth, A Memory, and A Modern Vampire

Cinema often thrives when it marries folklore with fantasy, and Lokah does exactly that. At its heart lies the story of a grandmother’s tale woven into the life of a vampire superhero—a layered myth that feels both rooted in tradition and exhilaratingly modern. The film balances humor, nostalgia, and supernatural spectacle in a way that makes it stand apart from conventional genre movies.

The Weight of Immortality

The protagonist is no ordinary hero. She has lived for millions of years, carrying the burdens of time, memory, and endless wars. Her insecurities form the spine of the narrative; instead of being glorified as a god-like figure, she comes across as deeply human. The loneliness of immortality, the fear of irrelevance in ever-changing worlds, and the pain of outliving everyone he loves—these give the superhero dimension and melancholy.

Ilaiyaraaja, Mamooka, and Music That Haunts

Ilaiyaraaja’s score rises like a soul echo through the film. His composition for Mammootty’s song Kiliye feels like an eternal lullaby, linking the protagonist’s immortal pain with a grandmother’s eternal love. Adding balance to the film’s weighty themes, the three friends’ comedy is refreshing. It never feels forced, but instead mirrors everyday banter, grounding the supernatural plot in lived reality. Meanwhile, the male lead’s performance feels deliberately understated. He resists the temptation of grandeur, lending the role a natural simplicity that allows the screenplay to breathe.

The screenplay itself deserves praise for how it interlaces humor, myth, romance, and existential dread without losing clarity. Each layer unfolds with purpose, like chapters of a fable handed down through generations.

Dulquer Salmaan and Choosing The Right Cinema

Of course, it is impossible to talk about Lokah without reflecting on Dulquer Salmaan’s uncanny sense of script-selection. Though not the central figure in this film, his choices consistently signal his refusal to take the easy or commercial path. Instead, he takes chances with stories that experiment with form, myth, and philosophy. In Lokah, his contribution enriches the film’s universe even though he does not dominate it.

Dulquer’s career so far feels like a road filled with carefully chosen detours—each project building a mosaic of experimentation rather than a safe filmography of predictable hits.

In this he is Producer and Lokah fits seamlessly into that vision, another testament to his cinema-first approach.

In Essence

Lokah is not just another superhero film. It’s a tapestry of myth and modernity—about grandmothers, music, eternal loneliness, and unexpected laughter. But more than anything, it is a film that places Kalyani Priyadarshan at its glowing center, while acknowledging the quiet brilliance of her peers.

On a serene Sunday morning in Bangalore, filter coffee in hand and the mist wrapping the city in soft silence, I was reminded of Kuvempu’s timeless words:

“Nature’s lap is the lap of God”

(“Prakritiyello Sarvam Shivanobba Murthy”).

It was one of those mornings where the weather feels like poetry—ripe for reflection, inviting you to sink into stories larger than life. That’s exactly what Mahavatar Narasimha offered: not just a film, but a spiritual and cinematic experience.

A Leap in Mythic Visuals

From the very first frame, Mahavatar Narasimha announces its intention: this is no ordinary animation. The visuals are reverent—majestic, yet full of heart. There’s a rare sincerity in the rendering, in the composition of emotion, detail, and grandeur. It transported me back to childhood memories of watching Dr. Rajkumar’s Bhakta Prahlada, or the old Telugu classics that pulsed with divine drama. Those weren’t just films; they were sacred storytelling—darshans delivered in celluloid.

But this is the next evolution. What Hombale Films has done isn’t just upgrade the animation—it has dignified it. Using good animation (Can be better in next releases ) without losing the soul of the tale, they’ve created something that speaks equally to nostalgia and to the future.

From Satyajit Ray’s Realism to Mani Ratnam’s Nature

The storytelling journey of Indian cinema is nothing short of mythic itself.

Satyajit Ray taught us that cinema could be meditative, human, and socially rooted—his realism made the mundane divine.

Subhash Ghai, in contrast, amplified drama and emotion into operatic scale—cinema as celebration, as spectacle.

Then came Mani Ratnam, weaving nature, silence, and storm into narrative—his forests and rains weren’t just backdrops, they were characters.

In the South, we’re now seeing another evolution—what one could call the LKU Universe (Lokesh, Kanagaraj, and others)—a universe driven by mythic undertones, modern genre-bending, and an unapologetic embrace of heroism.

And now, Mahavatar Narasimha finds its place in that lineage—not just continuing our mythological cinema but elevating it.

Ravana's Strategy Room and the Invisible Battle -Part 1

Chapter 1 : The Dark Lord's Desperate Gambit :

As the war between Rama and Ravana raged on, the fate of Lanka hung in the balance. Ravana, his eyes blazing with fury, summoned his most trusted advisors to the strategy room.

"नेतुर्हृदयं क्षमामयं, विद्वेषेण न विद्वेषिणः" (Neturhṛdayaṃ kṣamāmayaṃ, videṣeṇa na videṣiṇaḥ) - Valmiki Ramayana, 3.42.15

(A leader's heart is full of forgiveness, not malice.)

But Ravana's heart was far from forgiving. His mind was consumed by a burning desire for victory, no matter the cost.

"My son Indrajith, with your invincible powers, we will crush Rama's army!" Ravana declared, his voice dripping with venom.

Indrajith, his eyes gleaming with confidence, replied: "Father, I will not rest until Rama's head is at my feet!"

As they spoke, the sound of drums and war cries echoed outside. Lakshmana, Rama's brave brother, clashed with Indrajith on the battlefield. The air was filled with the scent of blood and sweat.

"भावग्राही विजानाति, सर्वभूतेषु भावतः" (Bhāvagrāhī vijānāti, sarvabhūṭeṣu bhāvataḥ) - Valmiki Ramayana, 5.35.40

(One who understands emotions knows all beings.)

But Indrajith's emotions were a raging storm, driving him to unleash his full fury upon Lakshmana. The younger warrior stumbled back, his defenses breached.

Vibhishana, Ravana's brother, and Hanuman rushed to Lakshmana's aid, their faces set with determination.

"संयुक्ता ये न विजानाति, विनश्यन्ति महाजनाः" (Sanyuktā ye na vijānāti, vinaśyanti mahājanāḥ) - Valmiki Ramayana, 4.20.30

(Those who do not unite will perish.)

Together, they managed to retreat, but the battle was far from over. Ravana's army pressed on, fueled by their dark lord's unyielding ambition.

As night fell, Rama's army regrouped, their hearts heavy with the weight of their losses. But they refused to yield.

"आत्मवान् विजायते युद्धे, विद्वेषेण न विद्वेषिणः" (Ātmavān vijāyate yuddhe, videṣeṇa na videṣiṇaḥ) - Valmiki Ramayana, 3.33.20

(The self-controlled one wins battles, not through malice.)

The stage was set for the final showdown. Would Rama's courage and conviction prevail, or would Ravana's darkness consume them all? The fate of Lanka, and the future of the world, hung in the balance.

Malik - Symphony of different shades of life - A different perspective to a Godfather or a Nayagan

Its the coming of age of Malayalam movies in the past one year where they have taken the Digital platforms with a storm .

Be it the narrative in Mammootty's "One" or those simple emotions in Boban's "Nizhal" and then comes the masterpience - A classic for the decade made with flawless performance and screenplay in the coming of age narrative in Fahadh Faasil's Malik.

Malik is a drama with shades of castism ,politics and the Malik who is a Massiah of the masses .So whats different then!? Even Nayagan showed the sameand so did the God father trilogy .

Malik takes you through a a very similar journey and with the same intensity as the earlier movies and hence worth a watch. It is a melencholy you just don't want to miss!

It is always those subtle moments that gets remembered for a long time and that's what this Mahesh Narayanan saga does.

Don't compare it any other movie and watch it for the actors and especially Faasil who excels in all the stages of his charecter.

Like the moment when Kamal Hassan's grandson asks him in a scene in Nayagan , whether he is good or bad, so is a scene between Faasil and his nephew in the movie where is a sense of done it all ,seen it all but not sure of right or wrong in the expression of Faasil.

These are stellar scenes that any actor would be waiting to perform and showcase .

The background music is such an integral part of the movie.At 2 and half hours its a long but not so tireing move .

Each director has a way of telling the story or the philosophy of good and bad and here is one story telling which made me write a review for a movie whose language I don't understand and have to watch in subtitles.

Such is the power of storytelling .I might still be in favour of the Mani Ratnam classic or Al Pacino trilogy but you just cannot take away this epic attempt and ignore the way with which the story of Ramadapally is narrated.

And its on Amazon prime for viewers to watch !

Thank you all for being part of my 10 year journey as a Blogger -from a Beginner to a better than before blogger and for your encouragement !

Its always those little moments in life, that one special moment that makes it worth to remember.

Storytelling is all about capturing those fine moments .We also see a pattern of Woman as a Protagonist with some of these fine moments as well .

For a person who who has seen 90's as a kid and saw DD1 and DD2 days to the OTT days ! its a big change when we see things like "Binge Watching" a series ,accessibility to movies @ your finger tips .Yes innovations keep happening and every decade brings with itself a change which changes your lifestyle.

Would have loved to see a Bimal Roy or a Guru Dutt ,K Balandar ,Puttana Kanagal or a Shankar Nag create a series on an OTT platform !

These are story tellers par excellence who touched Humanity with Hope and with all Humility !

Their Storytelling was way ahead of time .Something corporate innovators need to learn .and so does the startups .

"Fearless Humility" is what makes them special .The disowning of his accomplishments by the protagonists in the climax of a Pyaasa is what made it special .

An inspiration from "Bicycle Thieves" which became a "Do Bhiga Zameen" is still remembered for the challenge the protagonist accepts to race . Legendary screenplay definitely leaves an impact even on a stone hearted person !

Back closer to my home there was always a "Puttanna Kanagal" and a "K Balachandar" who thrived on

telling the future with their power storytelling.

Be it a "Sindhu Bhairavi" or "Vamsha Vruksha" there is a pattern to the story telling which connects across generations .

Woman as a Protagonist, Raising from the point of no return, Being consistent with the narrative - Sorry this is not a business class ! but yes we have lot to learn from them .

Once in a while there comes a Mani Ratnam and a Rajamouli who picks up from our epics and tells the same story in a way that creates the WOW factor .

They have taught us that innovation can also be repackaging the old with your imaginations.

Something that the startups need to learn as well.There is a method to get inspired from an idea and not just copying and creating replica of apps !

Storytelling has different dimensions to it :

1. Bandhini a movie based on a Bengali Novel explores the human conflicts of love and hate intertwined in the mind of Kalyani (Protagonist)is a fantastic example of how you could handle an ecosystem .Its all in the mind !

2. Taxi Driver of Martin Scorsese is a classic example of keeping it simple,Understanding your audience and giving them what they could like

I dont think any of these storytellers did market research in those days !

3. Mani Ratnam was an artist who knew how to retell a Mahabharata or a Ramayana not as a whole but with selective characters in different movies. This teaches you don't use all your ammunition at one shot !

You should create a good roadmap !

4. Finally how can i not talk about "Bangarada Manushaya" ! .The best thing is you should know when you dont belong to a place and when to move on .The climax scene of the move with Legendary Kannada Actor Dr Raj Kumar just teaches you that.

In Gist - Getting the pulse of narrating a story is extremely important - be it movies or business.

Business or Studios which wont innovate and change directions when needed cannot stand the test of time.

As always let me end with this personal favorite of mine translated to English for ease of global readers !

SPB : A phenomenon of consistency

As I tweeted today every news channel had to play on the background his own song for his farewell -variety across decades.

We have grown up ,so has our parents listening to him.

SPB has been a part of our lives for a very long time and as always you miss the person when he is not there .

In a way he bridged the north south divide through his voice.

NTR to MGR to Rajini and Kamal -He was their voice and for so many after them .

But for me he was the voice of Ilayaraja in Tamil and Telugu and of Hamsalekha in Kannada .

Combine this with a Mani Ratnam movie .

These are rare combinations to find .

Can we imagine a Mouna ragam or A Shankarabharanam or even a Maine Pyar Kiya or Hum Aapke Hai Kaun without a SPB.

SPB for me was beyond the legendary voice.

He was humility personified .

A man who openly gave way with humility his podium position and declared that it will hinder chances for the youngsters and encouraged film industry to give opportunities for youngsters.

How many of them are stars of today .

His work ethics are in itself a legend.

His friendliness with his contemporaries like another legend Yesudas in itself a story to

Revere.

Average of 2 songs a day from 1966 -this is impeccable consistent performance which even he dodnt probabily notice viz he worshipped music and enjoyed it .

This doesn't count the concerts etc though !

Life is too short to get distracted by the noise my

At the epicenter of a nation in Motion - Maha Parva of choices

The last line of the poem “Invictus” (the Latin word meaning victorious) by English poet William Ernest Henley reads “I am the master of my fate.” Henley was a man who greatly believed that no matter what life threw at him, he was going to make a choice steer his destiny in the direction he wanted ,similarly any civilization or nation has to make those choices and its the future generations which will bear the benefits or consequences of the same.

When President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed the nation in 1933 over radio an entire nation listened and followed its leader for over an decade - be it war or a financial depression.

Its a choice a country makes or its citizens and so we have a choice to make in less than a year.

The next few chapters are a pre text to the story of country in motion book - A clinical perspective of contemporary and mythological characters and instances

In this chapter of Maha Parva we look at few characters of epic Mahabharata and their contemporary comparison and context

1. What if Bheeshma had not taken the vow of lifelong Brahmacharya

2. What if Kunti had revealed the secret of Karna ?

3. What if king Dhritarashtra had followed Dharma and stopped his beloved son from taking the wrong path

and the list goes on ....

its all about choices you make which pivots the direction in which the story goes ...

People have conditions and reasoning for the choices they make .Bheeshma did it in the name of love for his father and nation ,Kunti in the name of protecting her dignity .

The consequences has to be faced by them and sometimes by the next generations.

In the great Epic it ended with the "Silence of a War"

As Krishna says to Arjuna " He is a fool who practises truth without knowing the difference between truth and falsehood"

Mahatma Gandhi was one contemporary World leader who was effective in making his choices .
His dream of a large scale socio political reform where every body shared concern for the poor before a country gets its Independence is one such case .Weather it became a reality is anybody's guess but idea is still in the right perspective .

That is what successful nations and civilizations do - uplift the poor which starts with a concern for the same.

Its all about the small choices we make and not all of us make great things but can we do those small things with great love as the great Mother told ...

Karna in Mahabharata is one enigma who did this but again,was his life difficulties Karna's choice?

Tampering the GentleMan's Game -Not being a " Stitha Pragna"

A person who maintain's his balance in the sorrowful situation and also happy situations and the one who is not affected by desire ,jealousy etc is called "Stitha Pragna" according to Bhagavad Geeta and I draw parallel's to the Gentlemen's game where it is all about witnessing the character shown by individuals along with their skill set .

When Former Prime Minister of Australia once said Australian Cricked Team Captain is the most important person in Australia it says a lot of how people Down Under take their cricket.

The Ball Tampering was a very minor topic in the bigger scheme of scandals and fixing allegations that goes around in Cricket .
But the point was not about Ball Tampering this time around but about a Australian Cricket Captain revered as the next Sir Don Bradman being at the center of controversy .

What was expected of Steve Smith was to show some qualities of "Stitha Pragna" .He is good enough to come back in a year's time ,his tears will definitely melt hearts in Australia but this will be a scar that will be part of his career .

Probably Steve Smith never was destined to be a Sir Don Bradman or have a Dravid like career.

Dravid was an epitome of what the GentleMan's game was all about be it winning or losing .Records are made to be broken and forgotten too.But it is the way you have carried your career that will stand the test of time.

Desire to win is less important than the way you win.Hope to see Steve Smith right in time for 2019 WC ! Cricket Australia has got the timing right this time too !

We were still getting used to Mahi Maar Raha Hai… And he leaves in his own terms ...

In India Cricketers and Filmstars are the people who are celebrated and revered and they are the distraction who provide that necessary happiness also in someway.

Especially if someone is a Rags to riches story and especially people whom you can relate to.

We had the Angry young man movies of the 70’s or the one Sachin in the 90’s who was accountable to an entire nation .We were a patient society still during those days even if the team was not performing well or there were not as many jobs or a booming economy like now .

Probably Media was also information/content driven then.

One Software success story or one depressing story cannot be a method to judge a country which according to me is still a work in progress.

Social media like Facebook and Twitter have either become a social status where you are pressurized to comment on every major incident happening around you irrespective of your expertise on the topic of discussion .

Or it is the future is something the society needs to think and answer.

Indian democracy needs to be celebrated post its independence for the progression we have done especially in the previous decade and we also need to understand it is still a work in progress.

As a society our impatience to react to events happening around us needs to be constructive criticism not a judgement .Let us leave the judgment to the Judiciary to do as they recently did in case of BCCI tussle and many other cases as well.

Rather than asking is Bangalore a safe place for women and creating fear in the people ,focus should be on improving the situation and not being judgmental about the city itself. Any culture or society or even civilizations were not built in a day .

As I said before it is a work in progress still…

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was celebrated Indian cricketer with a difference .There was aggression in his work not in his behavior .Something that the current generation of social media lovers could learn. In a country mesmerized by Sachin’s legend ,here was a

Cricketer who left his own stamp of legacy behind with the sense of confidence that he gave to millions of people when a cricket match was in a tight situation .Watching an India team in a major tournament was a less pressure job now and “Mahi Maar Raha Hai “

Was a a common synonym .For those non cricket lovers or fans in India ,the fans are under more pressure than the players playing especially if it’s a major tournament and we are a society which loves it.

Cricket has indeed been the common thing which unites the country irrespective of religion or caste.

But as Dhoni relinquishes his captaincy from all forms of the game one major aspect that a celebrated cricketer has brought about in people of the country is everybody knows this is how he plays it .

The “Nation Doesn't want to know “ why now and there are no heartbreaks…

D3 - Dangal Demonetization and Dalal Street -"The" review

Is it about the journey or is it about being the winner. Does that mean demonetization has to yield 100% result in 50 days for judging the current govenrment's stand on it .
How is Dangal making so much money inspite of this .Aamir Khan is no economist to have foreseen it .
Everybody has a view point and so does the Dalal Street !

Let me talk about Dangal the movie rather the economics around it !

Dangal starts where Sultan ends ... top notch acting ,screen play and storyline and a great movie experience with Geeta and Babita stealing the show inspite of Aamir in it .

Mahavir Singh Phogat mentors his children to become top international players . Whether he is doing it by forcing his dream and ambition of wiining gold or analyzing it as his ego is something that critics are doing to fill their columns might not be the right way to look at it

Here is a family who had to undergo lot of hardship and go against the norm to achieve something which was never done .Should we be complaining it as being glorified or dramatized in the movie . Would a bigger audiance watched the movie if it was not a Aamir Khan movie or without elements of fiction in it ?

At the end of the day dont blame the makers for few misses in the story from reality .They can give a social message but cannot do social service with a movie .It is a commercial cinema and be happy a Bollywood Superstar had the conviction to take the story and present it on screen.Its a commercial cinema with a message and that's it.

It does sends a message but cannot implement it .There are other institutions and government who would have to do that job.

So take your Popcorn and sit and enjoy the movie and dont miss the climax .There is something there for Corporate Leadership there. You need to give away the limelight sometimes .It is not always about you being there even if you are Aamir Khan and doesnt he steal the show even in a climax he gives a miss or did he not !

Finally Demonetization is a initiative that needs support not criticism irrespective of the political party one supports .We have waited for more than 60 years as a country to develop ,so let us not count be it 50 days or 100 days .Its a bold and good initiative and will take time .

Let us not make it an intitative which no one dare takes for the upliftment of the country in future.

Finally i am not sure if Dalal Street is smiling but Dangal team is definitely smiling and so be the rest of the country

Firstly thanks for the overwhelming response for the previous post .I am humbled indeed with the
mail responses I have got.I have tried to reply to most of them , pardon me if I have missed replying to anyone .

A different taste for my readers today with respect to topic - No Philosophy ,No reviews and No marketing of business either which I any ways don't do here !This is strictly a personal blog for

"Life As It Is" readers .

So what has WhatsApp done for itself.Has it created a sense of insecurity with its users or its business as usual and people will "always" forget it after sometime.Do they don't know their data is already public !

What WhatsApp missed here was it created insecurity by creating the ambiguity .It is one thing to be diplomatic in one way ,but when it comes to topics of privacy you need to come out clean.
So did they miss the trick?

When you make comments like sharing user data for "Other Purposes",its not about being politically incorrect here.

You are simply loosing the trust of the user.

User trust is more important than user data and the philosophy of the company should always focus on that .

Business is an outcome of that trust . Sustainability of business relies only on this point .

Is there a solution for this user controlled privacy ? Well, wait for my next post where I will Go Bezirk on the same ! Maybe in some other forum...

The Country of Billion People and the Olympic Dilemma !

“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”, so says the line in Secret Garden !

I still believe its all about perspectives ! Oh a country of Billion ask many people and yet not many medals in Olympics !So should we be winning a Billion Gold Medals?
There are reasons for everything and also for this.
India got its Independence 69 years ago to be precise (in another 2 days) and we have come a long way in all aspects .The country has been on an incremental curve especially after the Liberation of economy in 1991 in a fairy exponential way .
Exposure to most of the Olympic sports and the physical fitness preparedness is not developed and it needs its own processes and infrastructure support.

One can counter argue saying even small African nations go ahead and win Gold medals.What facility and infrastructure they have ?There is always one Usain Bolt and we also have our own Sania Mirza and Sania Nehwal and not to mention the 2 legends in their own fields: Sachin and Leander Peas .
We will definitely improve and we might not compete and even surpass China like we do in Information Technology but we have improved and the future looks brighter !

The mindset in the people of the country to look up to sports as a professional career should increase rather than making pessimistic comments about the country's talent pool. This could be a negative factor for the next generation of stars.

Yes we still have Cricket as the major sport ,viz we all have grown with that.

Its like asking a North Indian you eat only rotis and south Indian you eat only rice.

Certain things need not change and certain things would change based on circumstances .

Sachin is still the "God of Cricket"and Rajini is still celebrated in an unprecedented way by the young and the old alike when his film releases .

We are a country where we celebrate our fellow countrymen's achievement as our own achievement and lets be proud of it!

There is a transition period for everything and we are slowing transitioning towards in a good fashion in many areas .

Yes, there are infrastructure issues ,corruption etc.But there are different problems every where in the world.

Its a nice fashion even for so called socialites to comment on it ,but we should truly be proud that there is a Deepa Karmakar and an Indian among very few in the World who can do Produnova.

Let us celebrate and appreciate the moment and I am glad I could take 3 women as examples of excellence which itself shows the fact we have progressed from being a Male dominated country .

So the " Acche Din" of Indian Olympics might not be far away and that might be the
   "Tryst with Destiny"

The Untold Story of the Crest Jewel of Ramayana and the Final War - Part 1

Preface:

The story is an reinterpretation of the almost lost treasure created by my grand father the scholar (Late) G Seshadri Ayyangar Swami and retold by my uncle S .Srinivasan who had interpreted the same in English and who along with his brother and my father S.Govindan are motivation to this .
I have always been awestuck by the skillful powers of Indrajith (Ravana's son) described by Sage Valmiki and hence the retelling of the story centre's around the way strategies evolved to eliminate him and make the preparation for the mega what i call as blockbuster battle between Rama and Ravana.

Characters in Chapter 1 and 2 :

Rama : King of Ayodhya

Seetha Devi : Wife of Rama

Lakshmana : Rama's Brother

Hanuman : Son of Kesari and Anajana

Ravana : King of Kingdom of Lanka

Vibhishana - Brother of Ravana

Sugreeva : King of Kishkinda Kingdom

Introduction - Preparation to the Final Battle :

War is at its peak and Lakshmana ( King Rama's brother ) is overpowering Ravan's army.
Ravana needs to unleash his main potent force and his invincible warrior son Indrajith to the
battlefield and calls for an emergency meeting

Chapter 1:

Ravana's Strategy Room and the Invisible Battle

The war is at its peak and Ravana has to unleash his invincible warrior and son Indrajith .
He is in his war room discussing strategy and the entire core team is discussing who is the one person
who could be the key to Rama's army.
The analysis of key strength's of Rama's army begins and minute details are examined

Hanuman and Vibhishana (Ravana's brother ) are considered to be key to winning the war

    Ravana says : My son Indrajith has invisible powers and is unconquerable.

Ravana's minister says: Hanuman because of the benedictions of Surya ,Agni and Mahadeva is also unconquerable .
Then comes the   reply from another of Ravana's General:
   He was responsible for the death of the valiant Vali who was endowed with the undaunted power of India

There is a thunder in the sky and Ravana and his team peaks from the window to see what is happening .

Indrajith and Lakshmama are already in a battle and Indrajith has unleashed his invisible powers and Lakshmana is struggling to cope up with the same.

Vibhishana and Hanuman come towards Lakshmana and takes him away and its late evening and battle for the day ends.

Ravana sits down on and thinks Vibhishana must have played a trick and provoked Indrajith to the battlefield and immediately asks his minister to summon Indrajith to the War room.

Life Entrepreneurship and Personalization - The 5 year journey

Life As It Is in its 5th year and finally where do i come to .Its Life again but a personalized life .
The complete ecosystem of my blogs might have had different recepies but it touches only one aspect -The Purpose of Life?

In the age of IOT and Personalziation where every small piece of info about a person is an use case and remembering history is no more required -Google does it for you.
Do i need a change in the way my life is controlled ? Question yourself if you are living a life of a spirit !

Lets talk about the Entrepreneur phenomenon or the Stating Up wave going on currently .
I strongly agree on the critic Entrepreneurs and Investors don’t create jobs. Instead, they argue that jobs are created by consumers and demand for goods and services which enable entrepreneurs to create corporations, jobs and profits.

It is all about executing based on needs and this era of so called "Smart life " and the most abused term i see being used these days IOT .
IOT is nothing more than can u solve a problem .
Forget solving are you even identifying the right problem in the first place.

Entrepreneurship ,IOT ,Personalization looks like a great story to tell.But story is only sustainable when demand is created and supply part is executed .
As one of my Prof in IIM-B used to say its all about making revenues from "Other people's Money " when it comes to Business.

What about leadership in Entrepreneurship ! I think that solves crux of the problem,

An Entrepreneur who can take the "One Handed" view stand made famous by War Time US President Roosevelt could be the key.

You cannot be what i call "Preferential Leader" ,It overshadows the innovation you bring about and eventually destroys the vision and spirit of entrepreneurship.
But definitely you need a personlaized leader who has access to minute details for decision making .

So with all these should i give my take on where the economy is moving !Raghuram Rajan has already done that i suppose .

So whats the Mantra for success and Entrepreneurship...

Who cares what other people think ,As they say in Silicon valley -Make the money quick .

No business is bad business .Dont have complexities issues about entering different areas.I think something which people still haven't figured about Warren Buffet is diversify everywhere .

As goes the saying "Solitude is painful when one is young, but delightful when one is more mature" by Albert Einstein,this is what Winston Churchill might have felt when he won the war but lost the battle of elections in 1945.

1945 also marked the emergence of one more person who defined solitude through his imagination on the Silver Screen .It was the beginning of the career of Guru Dutt.Life is best defined in solitude and best understood through "Pyaasa" a movie which goes beyond the clutches of success and failure ...or is there something in between also ?

Einstein said, "If A equals success, then the formula is: A=X+Y+Z.X is work.Y is play.Z is keep your mouth shut."A tremendous work ethic ,a relaxed approach and learning the value of quietness and solitude would do good .But what is success ?

Take the case of Churchill .Here was the man who won Britain the war but one who lost a political election ....was he successful or a failure?

You need to be like the "One Handed Economist" so that you can take a stand on same

The eloquent music of the cool breeze , and the ever beautiful Wahida Rehman as a simily of Full Moon ...all this in imagination of director .Here was Chaudhvin ka Chand all in Solitude.

As the countdown begins for the World Cup in Brazil and Soccer fever grips in , we in India have just elected a new government and Indian 24/7 News  Channels had a ball covering the same .They were reporting as if it was a cricket match being played giving second by second update and finally when it comes to taking credit can anyone beat them ! Everyone says we reported this first and we are the best and most watched ...
    Has marketing come down to this level that you need to tell that you are the best ...hmm..give it a thought ...

Then comes the "Tu Tu Mein Mein" war with opposition and ruling party in India.Oh God ,give me a break ,give the government some time to settle down and then question if they don't perform .Anyways we were sleeping for past 10 years. Indian News channels needs to understand its just not about TRP's and you need not tell yourself you are a credible person and a channel with integrity ,let the people decide and India knows how to decide now ...just recap the election just gone by.

Ok ,let me stop at this ,and take a break and change channels. Wow here comes the new Star Plus Mahabharat ...Watched a few episodes and my goodness Is this a soap opera or Mahabharat rewritten.
Bhishma is still Mukesh Khanna for me and Mahabharat is the one by Legendary B R Chopra .
Where is the cultural essence that our mythology is supposed to teach us .The so called "Samskaar" at least the next generation can see through this.
Who can forget dialogues like these  " Jo hona hai wo tou hokar hi rahega , manusha ka ye kartavya hai ke vartamaan ki jholi mein apna uphaar daalkar aage bade "

Man can we forget the poetic and heart warming dialogues from Rahi Masoom Reza.I think the younger generation is missing out on a lot due to change in the way channels want to show these epics .

I end this post by saying , show people what is our culture through epics not tweek them add those masala stuff and project your TRP's and people will still see if its good and appreciate .
  For 24/7 news channels good job for the all the right things done and please cool down a bit ,no one is chasing you ,and you need not shout ..we will increase our volumes if we want to hear you louder

Aurangzeb gives Indian film industry an actor of substance,coming from the other Kapoor family which has given versatile actor like Anil Kapoor ,Arjun Kapoor steals the show in this movie which is filled with stellar performances from Prithvi Raj and the Rishi Kapoor in particular.

Arjun has grown as an actor from his first film and would no doubt give the bigger stars a run for their money in the days the come.All in all a good movie experience ,thanks for the person booking the ticket :) and one who gave the review also .Guys dont forget to watch "The Great Gatsby" also.This chap Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't seem to age,yet another powerful performance for him and Tobey Maguire.

" सपने अपनों से ज्यादा होते है "... The other Murthy -The once blue eyed boy of Narayan Murthy does it again.A middle class boy from Bangalore who was instrumental in the success of Infosys gets sacked just after few days of "Spot Fixing Scandal" in IPL breaking out.

So Indian Media is having a Full Meals this week,TRP's going to sour ,but who is going to fix the real problem.

Switch on the Idiot Box ,the first thing you are going to see is Sreesanth Bowling clip with Towel highlighted ...this happens 24*7...

Finally it rains heavily in Bangalore and what next ... waiting for "Yeh Jawani hai Diwani and Chennai Express "

Glimpse at 100 years of Indian Cinema and the buzz word "100 crore" club ...

Some setbacks,some success,and some introspection and finally here i am back with my new post and this time writing on the topic i love most,Indian Cinema...

From Raja Harischandra to Harishchandrachi Factory Indian cinema has come a long way .As we celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema let me make an introspection of some of the interesting facets of the years gone by .
          Makers from Satyajit Ray,Gur Dutt ,B R Chopra to Mani Ratnam and many others have taken Indian Cinema to world in the best possible way it can be.
        It Is more of the box office success now,the widely used "100 crore" club that defines the fate of the moive.
          Would Hrishikesh Mukherjee himself have dared to do a "Anupama" or "Satyakam" in this era is any body's guess...
          Indian cinema has come of age,technically and also in the way we tell the story.We identified something called Parallel cinema and Commercial cinema going along .

       We got our "First SuperStar" Rajesh Khanna with Aradhana and an "Angry Young Man" whom people identified with their issues during the 70's.Also we had movies like Mother India where a female lead was given more prominence .

       Indian Cinema down South is more about the Larger than life stars,and some of them have been able to use this to make their entry into politics cashing on the advantage of huge fan following.

On a holistic picture Indian Cinema's true identity comes with Song ,Dance and Music and filmmakers have managed to give prominence to this.

But looking back one question that pops out to my mind is where are those movies like "Guide" ,"Pyaasa" and "Kaagaz Ke Phool " supposed to be among all time classics.Yes,we do get once in a while such movies but ... its more about "100 crore club" now.We are in an era of remixes,
and Item Numbers .

The "King of Romance" Yahji is no more... he taught us how to love ,who can forget his films.

Lastly i get this question ,yes we have come along ,grown in all aspects but still live in a Hero centric society.Llast i heard where female lead used to bring in crowds was for "Madhuri Dixit " and "Sridevi".People still recognise "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun" as a Madhuri film,infact Salman Khan was the Hero of the film.

Its more of the business now,the pressure to give that ultimate box office hit ...

Its sad ,films like "Mera Naam Joker" and even rib tickling comedies like "Andaaz Apna Apna" were not greatly success when they were released.
Finally one thing has not changed...
                               Its the movie goer who decide which is a hit and which is not,and who is the "Super Star".
                     Even Rajesh Khanna had to give away his crown...

It all comes down to the connecting of dots and here i am talking about it again ever after over 25 posts !Thanks again for all the readers and their encouragement and the mails and i hope to be more active in 2013 atleast !

Yes,Year 2012 marked end of an era in many ways .Be it passing of Yashji or the retirement of Sachin.

No one knows whats in store for the future but this year has been truly a mixed bag for me atleast.

Miss those classes and the college life ! But all good things come to an end as they say ...It did in 2012.

Have grown up watching Yash Chopra films and seeing Sachin batting ,Yashji taught us love and Sachin the passion and dedication .Who can forget the Sharjah Storm or the Deewar dialogue or even the complex storyline of Kabhi Kabhi .

Chandini was a hit viz Sridevi or Yash Chopra,somethings better remain unanswered .2012 also marked the return of Obama and NaMo.As i told in my previous blog FDI is still an issue and truely understood the impact it could have to an extent during an Immersion Training recently.

On a personal front management education did help me indeed and so did some experiences .Thank all who have been with me during the course of my roller-coaster ride so far and wishing everyone a Marry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year .

Truly miss 2 people going forward Steve Jobs and Yash Chopra -2 different personalities ,2 Legends who lived differently but still caught the imagination of thousands.

2013 -Whats in store - "Discovery of self " would be an ongoing process for me atleast.

So let me end it by saying ...

Over 25 blogs and lot of masala ,philosophy and good number of hits and reviews ,and its time to write a new one !Here in this post i look at a totally different perspective and try to be as realistic as possible .

Still want to be the child in the Kabuliwala of Tagore ,i think have lost that innocence.Tagore also made the child grew older there ,so nothing is permanent ,even in a story ...

One thing have realised ,when in doubt connect to the Gandhian way of life.The happiness you get in giving is as unexplainable as life and death is and even Gandhi never preached but just practised it for the world to follow.

Nehru remarked that he had not seen any other nationalist movement like Gandhi’s, largely devoid of hatred,can our lives be like this ?Give it a thought...

Social Service or the Joy of Giving week should not be a one off activity .Again this is my perspective

"Other People's Money " should not be our problem ,people who understand it ,give it a thought !

Its been quite a while since i last wrote .During this time have managed to explore a bit and add to my understanding of 3 Ontological Principles and Meta Physical Objects .Bhagavad Geeta is a routine .!So let me not get into it and just enjoy the essence i get each time i understand something new in it.

BR Lakshman Rao says "Amma ninna edeyaaLadalli gaaLakke sikka meenu" .He beautifully conveys how a child wants to break the shakles of affection and have a experience of the world.

Mothers love and affection is eternal and mutual and you cannot break away from it.So is the reality of life.

" ಬಾಳ ಹಳಿಯುವುದೇಕೆ ? ಗೋಳ ಕರೆವುವುದೇಕೆ ? " says DVG in "Manthana".He is saying acquire the knowledge to understand the realities of life.Geeta says the same.We don't even know the reason for our birth and death and go on worrying about things that we assume to be the reasons .!Strange life i find it sometimes .That's when i go and take help from Upanishads.Question the basic reason for existence ?

"When you give someone what he needs,which is well in excess of what he explicitly seeks " ,the person should behave with "Stitha Pragna " what we call steady mindedness.Its all about "Karma-Yoga ".Do your Karma ,be steady minded and be human .Quite simple ,lets not complicate things ,should we ?

If trying to understand life and what to do and what not to do itself is so complicated .Living it would turn out be a even more.So lets make it simple !There is no Right or Wrong,beauty is in the eyes of the beholder .Lets look at the whole world as a beautiful world.Be kind and humble to People around us

Does a mother talk bad about her child to others?So why should we .Lets live our life not rectifying others mistakes but our own and lets be the child in the mothers arm.

यादों की दुनियां में ...

" Chalo Dildar Chalo Chand Ke Paar Chalo" Rafi Saab and Lata rendering their voice to this classic song from the legendary film Pakeezah by Kamal Amrohi.
                                                Meena Kumariji obliged and this eventualy happened to be the last film of this Ever Green beauty.
                                   Lataji was also voice of Madhubala and another classic that i remember is Mohabbat Ki Jhooti Kahani- a Naushad's music and Shakeel Badayuni's lyrics again.Shakeel Badayuni has given Hindi cinema some of the best lyrics .
                                      We miss those classics-The Clash of Titans -Prithviraj Kapoor and Dilip Saab sequence in Mughal E Azam .Those were treat to watch.Who can forget the richness in Nazir Hussain Films ,the lost and found magical storylines of Manmohan Desai .
                                    Between all this there always used to be the Showman Raj Kappor films with the typical Raj Kapoor Touch ,be it Aaj ,Awara ,Sangam ...the list is endless.

Fnally let me end with Rajesh Khanna's Dialogue from Anand-A Hrishikesh Mukharji Film.

                                                   Introduction:
I Always had this thought of connecting stories and being a great fan of reverse screen play,i have tried my best to bring about a connection in the various charecters i have introduced here.I have tried to connect thier present by going into their future .Every incident in the Part 1 has a reason which will be unvieled in the Part 2 which is the final Part .The incidents here are taken from real life and gives us a good understanding of how things shape out in our lives and what aspect of control we can have on it.

I thank my very good friend for giving inputs to the story  .Especially this being the 25th Blog .Thanks for reading the previous ones guys .So no philosophy and management here,Pakka local story.

                                       Mystry Begins ...          Part 1

A mid aged lady from India in Down town Chicago is enjoying her morning walk with music playing in her ipod "आपके नज़रों ने समझा प्यार के काबिल मुझे " suddenly encounters this guy from India coming in the opposite direction .The guy gazes at the mid aged lady as if he knows her and passes by.
The lady starts thinking about this guy and moves on.
                                           Lets meet Reshma a typical South Indian Girl now settled in USA with her husband .Reshma is an extrovert ,highly talented ,intelligent Indian Women.Reshma finishes her household work and sits on the easy chair and starts sipping a cup of tea with music playing in the background .Reshma starts thinking of her good old college days ...
                         "Even i want to be part of the music team " ,"and i am sure we will win "... says Rahul to Reshma.
"This guy has lot of attitude ,i hate this guy ,he is very arrogant and i donot want him to be part of the music team " Reshma tells Meera .
Lets meet Meera a very close friend of Reshma and a very important charecter in this story .

"Let's have him,he sings very well.We will surely have a better chnce of winning the competition " Meera tells Reshma.
Reshma is the coordinator of the music competition and they have come for a University Festival and she agrees for Rahul to be part of the music competition .
They get qualified to the finals and win the competition and Rahul impresses everyone with his singing abilities ...
The University festival is over and Rahul and his friend Mrinal (native of a place in the border of Gujarat and Maharastra ) get into the Bus and they are supposed to go back Home the same day.Reshma and her friends also travel in the same bus .
Mrinal is an introvert and is son of a businessman and had come to the University festival to participate in a technical event .
                      As Rahul tries to start a conversation with Reshma and Meera ,Mrinal is sitting in a corner reading a novel.

The clock sounds 12 Pm Reshma realises its time to prepare lunch as kids would be back any time soon .The calling bell rings ... Reshma now goes to the door and open the door .There is a middle aged man standing and she feels she has seen him somewhere ,the man gives inivation for the Premier of a Film of Raj Malhotra in New York .Raj Malhotra is a very good friend of Reshma and is settled in California now and was an aspiring filmmaker in the early years .He is now an entrepreneur settled with his wife in USA.Reshma is very happy for Raj and tells the person she will definitely make it with her family to the premier .
               She calls Meera and asks if she is going to make it and tells her it can be a great reunion of old friends .
             Meera is now settled in India ,and Meera and her husband are supposed to be in New York around that time.Both agree to make it but are not sure who else are invited and would be there at the premier.

Reshma and Meera make it to the Priemier with their family and are surprised to see Tina there.They wish each other .They take the special reserved seat that Raj had arranged for them ,Tina sits besides them and the film starts...
                                        There is a guy in the bus trying to start a conversation with Reshma !Mrinal is sitting in the corner reading some book and now Reshma and Meera ask each other did you know this ...

Raj had planned to make a film on their lives in the early years ,they sit back to watch the film and Reshma now remembers who she saw during her morning walk .
                                   The Film continues with background music चलते चलते यूँही कोई मिल गया था playing in the Bus ....
