Designing, developing and managing the APHRC website&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;    Revitalize the information architecture and link knowledge products to the Center’s program areas.&lt;br /&gt;    Redesign the website focusing on new innovations in the field, such as blogs, wikis, etc, to improve content presentation, access, use and feedback.&lt;br /&gt;    Manage links that enable users to share documents with friends and colleagues.&lt;br /&gt;    Create a content management system that enables anyone to update the site without requiring specialized skills or training.&lt;br /&gt;    Create fundraising opportunities through the website by developing systems that will facilitate such.&lt;br /&gt;    Assess the IT needs of various programs at APHRC – research, policy engagement and communication and administration programs - and create avenues to respond to the identified needs through the website and other IT tools.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Managing the Center’s Systems including Intranet, Project Management System, and Human Resources Information Systems&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;    Upload information on the systems&lt;br /&gt;    Continuously train staff on how to make best use of the intranet&lt;br /&gt;    Keep the systems up-to-date and adaptable to emerging needs&lt;br /&gt;    Add new modules to existing systems to support the Center’s initiatives&lt;br /&gt;    Design new systems for enhancing efficiency&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Together with the coordination team and programme managers s/he will contribute towards the definition and orientation of the CASH Program strategy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;S/he will ensure accountability standards and other humanitarian principles are applied in the cash program and also to initiate new cash and voucher based programming in Somalia while participating in urban and rural food security and livelihood program design.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition to this s/he will be responsible for reporting all cash based program that will include ACF internal report as well as donor reports in collaboration with the reporting officer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Who we are looking for:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are looking for highly motivated and qualified individual with significant experience in humanitarian and cash program management.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;S/he will have a Minimum 5 year’s humanitarian work in CASH programmes at middle and senior management level. S/he must be disciplined and able to work autonomously and arrive at decisions and conclusions with minimal guidance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Able to set own deadlines and meet them consistently. S/he must have proven experience in staff management and training and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. S/he must be proficient in data management (creation of data collection tools and methods, database set up, data analysis and translation into program).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;S/he must be computer literate with proficiency in using of Word, Excel and other data analysis tools (SPSS). S/he must be fluent in both written and oral communication in English. &lt;a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/UFpR0MDC3uF6n0GvznGKhkBH6Ug/1/da"&gt;&lt;img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/UFpR0MDC3uF6n0GvznGKhkBH6Ug/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"&gt;&lt;/img&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;As part of its mandate of national research capacity strengthening, the Consortium for National Health Research (CNHR) invites applications for Research Career Development Grants (RCDGs) from qualified Kenyan researchers (currently based in Kenya or working within the Diaspora) who wish to further develop their careers while undertaking research and training programmes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The grants aim at enabling successful applicants to obtain high-quality research training that will lay the foundation for a successful independent research career.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The long term aim is to build a critical mass of researchers undertaking relevant research for health for the betterment of the health of Kenyans.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The RCDGs are for periods of not more than eighteen (18) months and will be offered to successful applicants who apply for consideration either as Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Mid-Career Research Fellow or Mid-Career Clinical Research Fellow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The award will target young researchers who would wish to develop their own research niches/teams within the next 3-5 years, and especially&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;a) Qualified young researchers based within the public universities, private universities or in private practice, and&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;b) young researchers in the Diaspora who wish to return to Kenya to establish viable independent research careers in universities or research institutions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In both cases, special emphasis will be made to qualified women researchers, without denying opportunities to qualified men.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The detailed advert, including eligibility criteria, the application guidelines, application process, selections process and other relevant information can be found on the CNHR website www.cnhrkenya.org.&lt;br /&gt;Link&lt;br /&gt;The RCDG Application Form should be submitted electronically as an email attachment with all&lt;br /&gt;relevant enclosures. &lt;a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/qkxizFZVAEqajg46tmaxVDE9Qww/1/da"&gt;&lt;img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/qkxizFZVAEqajg46tmaxVDE9Qww/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"&gt;&lt;/img&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;The Africa Programme of the University for Peace (UPAP) has secured funding from the Canadian International Development Research Center (IDRC) to build research capacity in Africa in Governance and Security Studies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This research grant cycle is a second one received from IDRC after the first one that UPEACE received in 2007 and that focused on developing research capacity in Peace, Conflict and Development.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The present grant comes from two programs within IDRC, the Fellowships and Awards Program (F&amp;A) and the Governance, Security and Justice Program (GSJ).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In this round, a total of 15 PhD Grants will be offered in two categories: PhD Fellowships and Doctoral Research Awards. Both grants are specifically for African students pursuing their PhDs in universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first category, PhD fellowships is intended for freshly enrolled candidates, who are at the very beginning of their studies. The grant will cover expenses including tuition, living expenses and a semester abroad at a Canadian university. A total of 4 grants will be offered.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The second category, Doctoral Research Awards is intended to support PhD candidates, who have completed the required course work and/or other preliminary doctoral requirements as instructed by their universities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eligible candidates are those who are ready to start the phase of conducing their field work, analyzing their data and writing their thesis.
