Dengan dukungan prosesor core i3 serta kartu grafis yang baik ditambah fitur-fitur lain, membuat persaingan notebook dikelas entry-level semakin panas.

IdeaPad G460 memiliki layar LED-backlit 14 inch dengan resolusi 1366 x 768, setara dengan notebook tingkat menengah kebanyakan. Dengan dibenamkannya NVIDIA GeForce G310M 512 MB, membuat penggunanya dimanjakan dengan adanya grafis ini. Dibekali memory 2GB DDR3 SODIMM PC-8500

Driver yang disediakan notebook ini, sepertinya memang sengaja di desain untuk Windows7, karena driver padanotebook G460 hanya merekomendasikan pada sistem operasi Windows 7 dan tidak direkomendasikan untuk OS lainya seperti Linux bahkan Windows XP sekalipun. Tetapi mengenai isi driver ini, kembali lagi pada paket penjualan yang akan anda dapatkan. Beberapa fitur lain seperti USB 2.0, Card Reader, dan LAN berfungsi dengan baik.

IdeaPad G460 150 memang bukanlah sebuah notebook yang didesain elegan, tetapi lebih mengedepankan fungsionalitas dan sisi kerampingan. Yang menjadi keunggulan dari G460 adalah dukungan dari NVIDIA GeForce G310M 512 MB, yang membuat Lenovo untuk seri ini berbeda dari tipe pendahulunya dan sangat cocok bagi anda yangmendambakan sebuah notebook yang memiliki fitur office, multimedia, dan games.

Smadav adalah salah satu software antivirus lokal Indonesia. (Sebenarnya antivirus lokal yang lain pun saya tidak tahu,hehe). Smadav mampu mendeteksi keberadaan virus-virus lokal dan dapat mengatasinya.

Sejauh pengalaman saya, smadav mampu memberikan rasa nyaman dalam mengatasi hampir semua virus lokal yang ada. Namun tentunya saya menggunakannya bersamaan dengan salah satu antivirus internasional, seperti avira.

Dengan menggunakan dua software antivirus tersebut, netbook saya dapat bertahan dari berbagai macam serangan virus, dengan tentunya software antivirus tersebut selalu terupdate.

Back to topic, smadav mempunyai beberapa fitur yang sangat bisa diandalkan. Misalnya smaRT, yaitu fitur smadav yang mampu mendeteksi virus secara live di komputer. Kemampuannya dalam scanning juga cepat sehingga tidak terlalu membuat kita menunggu.

Smadav ada dua macam, yaitu smadav free dan smadav pro. Sesuai dengan namanya, smadav free diberikan secara gratis, sedangkan smadav pro kita harus memberikan donasi terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkannya.

Sebenarnya fiturnya tidak terlalu berbeda jauh, mungkin hanya kepada penggunaannya saja smadav pro lebih ditekankan. Smadav pro lebih dianjurkan kepada penggunaan korporat, sedangkan smadav free kepada pengguna pribadi (seperti saya ini,he).

Saya sangat menganjurkan smadav agar terinstall di komputer anda. Mengapa? Karena untuk benar-benar melindungi komputer anda dari virus yang sekian banyaknya, anda tidak cukup menggunakan antivirus internasional saja, namun juga antivirus lokal seperti smadav. Hal ini karena antivirus internasional tersebut belum mampu mendeteksi virus lokal yang ada.

Kelemahan smadav menurut saya sih cuma masalah kecil aja. Terkadang ada program atau file yang bukan virus, tapi terdeteksi sebagai virus. Namun itu bukan masalah besar asal kita mengetahui file atau programnya.

HJ Spliter adalah sebuah software yang berfungsi untuk memecah dan menggabungkan file. Feature, Penggunaan, dan Support

Feature utama dari software ini adalah menggabungkan file, memecah file, membandingkan file, dan checksum. Empat fungsi utama ini disediakan HJSpliter melalui enam menu yang tersedia, yaitu Split, Join, Compare, Checksum, About, dan Exit. Software ini memang memiliki pilihan menu yang sedikit dan tampilannya sederhana. Keenam menu tersebut tampil dalam tombol yang siap dipergunakan.

Penggunaan software ini sangat mudah dan sederhana. Dari keenam tombol yang tersedia, Anda cukup menekan tombol menu sesuai keperluan Anda. Sebagai contoh, Anda cukup menekan tombol Split bila Anda akan memecah sebuah file. Kemudian, akan muncul sebuah dialog box yang berisikan input file dan output yang harus Anda isi bagian “Split File Size”-nya untuk membagi file yang Anda akan pecah menjadi berbagai bagian. Setelah itu, tekan “Start” dan proses pemecahan file pun dimulai. Jika proses pemecahan telah selesai, tekan “Close” dan pemecahan file pun selesai.

The ThinkPad X120e is the latest "netbook alternative" for business from the team at Lenovo. This 11-inch laptop is packed with the latest AMD "Fusion" processor technology as well as plenty of RAM and a fast hard drive to keep your business running smooth while on the go. Keep reading to find out more.

Build and Design

The "ThinkPad" brand name is one of the few names that is virtually synonymous with business notebooks. These laptops regularly combine solid build quality, excellent keyboards, precision TrackPoints (that red dot in the middle of the keyboard) and fantastic warranty support. Last year Lenovo responded to customer demands for a "ThinkPad netbook" and delivered the 11-inch X100e. That bargain-priced ultraportable delivered pretty good performance at a low cost, but didn't provide particularly impressive battery life and got pretty hot on your lap thanks to the old AMD processor technology.

Lenovo promises to make things right in 2011 with the new and improved ThinkPad X120e.

At first glance, the exterior of the 11-inch ThinkPad X120e is virtually identical to the old X100e. In fact, the only things that have changed on the outside are the location of a few ports on the sides of the notebook and the addition of an HDMI connection for modern external monitors, projectors and HDTVs. The simple plastic rectangular screen lid on our review unit features a "midnight black" color scheme that gives it a more low-cost appearance than the rubber-coated ThinkPads, but it's clear this laptop means business.

Those customers who are interested in upgrading the RAM or the hard drive by themselves will be happy to know there is a single massive access plate on the bottom of the notebook that gives you full access to the internal components. Yes, chances are that most business buyers will order all their upgrades at the time of purchase, but it's good to know Lenovo keeps it simple for the do-it-yourself crowd.

Ports and Features

As previously mentioned, the port selection on the X120e has changed slightly from last year's model. Lenovo listened to our complaints about the lack of an HDMI port on the X100e and added HDMI to the X120e while moving one of the USB ports to the other side of the notebook. We'd still like to see a combo eSATA/USB port or a USB 3.0 port for connecting high-speed external storage, but it's hard to complain when you're talking about a netbook alternative.

When the Active Protection system is enabled, it protects your hard drive when the shock sensor inside your ThinkPad computer detects a situation that could potentially damage the hard drive. The protection system stops your hard drive by moving the read/write heads of the hard drive to areas that do not contain data, and may also stop spinning the disks of the hard drive. The hard drive is less vulnerable to damage when it is not in operation. The protection system turns the hard drive on again once the shock sensor detects a stable environment (minimal change in system tilt, vibration, or shock).
When the protection system detects system motion and stops your hard drive, the following message is displayed.

The Active Protection system system tray icon (when selected to be displayed) shows the status of the shock sensor, as follows:

	The shock sensor is disabled (the Active Protection system is not activated).
	The shock sensor is enabled, but no shock has been detected.
	The shock sensor is enabled, and repetitive vibration is detected that does not cause the operation of the hard drive to be stopped.
	The shock sensor is manually suspended, the hard disk drive is running.
	The shock sensor is enabled. A shock has been detected, and the operation of the hard drive is stopped.

Las Vegas - Lenovo mengoptimalkan beberapa lini produk mereka dengan Enhanced Experience (EE) 2.0. Salah satu efeknya adalah mempercepat waktu booting komputer.Bahkan, Lenovo berani mengklaim di antara produk mereka yang menggunakan EE 2.0 memiliki waktu booting tercepat di dunia. Yaitu, kurang dari 10 detik.

Garrett Duggar, Product Ambassador Lenovo, mengatakan Lenovo bekerjasama dengan Microsoft dalam mengembangkan EE 2.0. Ini merupakan pengembangan berikutnya dari EE versi pertama.

Optimalisasi yang dilakukan Lenovo, terjadi pada berbagai aspek. Semuanya dilakukan di atas platform Windows 7 dari Microsoft.

Rata-rata, menurut klaim Lenovo, penggunaan EE 2.0 akan membuat booting komputer lebih cepat 20 detik dari komputer tanpa EE 2.0.Pada produk dengan RapidDrive SSD, seperti IdeaPad Y570 atau Y470, Lenovo mengatakan waktu booting bisa mencapai kurang dari 10 detik.

RapidDrive memanfaatkan Solid State Drive untuk mempercepat kinerja komputer. Duggar mengatakan, SSD sebesar 80GB ditambahkan pada PC untuk meningkatkan performa, di luar media penyimpanan yang sudah ada.

EE 2.0 memiliki penerapan yang bervariasi, tergantung tipe produk yang digunakan. Jajaran Idea, misalnya, lebih dioptimalkan untuk digital audio dan grafis High Definition.

Sedangkan di jajaran Think, EE 2.0 bisa berarti optimalisasi kemampuan tambahan yang dibutuhkan kalangan bisnis. Termasuk soal keamanan dan web-conference.

Sebagai bagian dari demo kemampuan EE 2.0, Lenovo membuka 'Lenovo Boot Challenge' di sela-sela Consumer Electronic Show 2011, yang diadakan 6-9 Januari 2011 di Las Vegas. Ideapad U460 Review - Slim and Powerfull - Karakter elegan, dengan garis perak dikombinasikan warna keyboard silver terasa sangat pas dengan karakter maskulin. Apalagi ditambah ukuran tipisnya yang hampir menyerupai ukuran MacBook. Pengguna yang berminat dapat mergoh kocek sebesar USD 599 atau sekitar Rp 5,3 jutaan.

Lenovo di penghujung tahun 2010 ini merilis laptop tipis terbarunya. Produk bernama Ideapad U460 ini ditujukan bagi para profesional yang gemar menjinjing laptop tipis kemana saja, dengan fitur keamanan prima.

Menurut Lenovo, Ideapad U460 dibuat untuk kalangan profesional ataupun pengguna rumahan. Dengan ketipisan kurang dari 1 inch, laptop ini termasuk ringan dan mudah dijinjing atau dimasukan ke dalam tas.

Desain Ringan dan Tipis

Ideapad U460 yang dijajal detikINET memiliki kombinasi warna hitam dan silver. Dengan ukuran layar 14 inch, laptop ini cukup nyaman saat digunakan untuk mengetik dokumen, browsing, ataupun menonton film HD.Bagian naterai laptop ini cukup didesain dengan rapi, sehingga tak ada tonjolan di bagian belakang body laptop. Untuk desain keyboard, laptop ini menggunakan jenis papan ketik chiclet yang memang sedang naik daun. Saat digunakan untuk mengetik rasanya pun cukup nyaman.

Satu hal yang menarik perhatian Ideapad U460 adalah touchpadnya, yang tampil dengan desain kasar berbintik. Bahan glossy yang menyelimuti keyboard kini menyatu dengan touchpad dengan desain halus berbintik.

Tampilan dan desain ini membuat jari-jari terasa nyaman untuk beraksi di atas touchpad. Kemudian untuk masalah klik kanan dan kiri, tombolnya juga empuk. Tidak ada kesan tersendat saat detikINET melakukan drag & drop pada sebuah file.

Secara umum, desain keyboard laptop ini sangat simpel. Tombol power terletak di sisi kiri atas, sementara beberapa indikator mungil ada di kanan atas.

Di sisi kanan body laptop terdapat 3 buah colokan USB, slot micro SD, power adaptor port, panel wifi, serta jack audio. Sementara di bagian kiri terdapat tiga buah port: eSata, HDMI, dan LAN. Tepat di ujung kanan bawah keyboard terdapat finger print yang merupakan satu kelebihan laptop ini.

Salah satu keunggulan lain produk ini ada di bagian bawah netbook. Dengan desain yang diusungnya, pengguna bakal sangat mudah untuk mengupgrade ataupun mengganti RAM.

Menonjolkan Sisi Keamanan

Produk ini menawarkan fitur keamanan prima bagi para penggunanya. Dengan opsi pilihan finger print danVeriface Log-on, pengguna yang menginginkan privasi tinggi pada laptop kerjanya rasanya sangat cocok memiliki laptop ini.

Saat Windows standby, laptop ini secara default akan mengunci. Saat ingin login kembali, pengguna akan ditawari login dengan veriface (software bawaan Lenovo) atau finger print.

Performa Grafis

Dari sisi prosesor, detikINET telah mencoba performanya selama sekitar satu minggu. Prosesor Intel Core i5 540M (2.53 Ghz) ini cukup bisa menangani video streaming full HD 1080p dari YouTube, layaknya produk lain sejenis. Tak hanya itu laptop ini juga mampu digunakan untuk menyaksikan film .mkv berkualitas full HD.

Dari sisi grafis Ideapad U460 dibekali Nvidia GeForce 305M. Grafis minimalis tersebut sudah cukup mantap untuk melakukan decoding MPEG-2, varian H.264 serta VC-1 1080p untuk konten-konten multimedia. Sangat lancar. Begitu pula saat dijajal detikINET untuk melakukan rendering video berformat .avi selama sekitar 30 menit.

Nah, ketika dibebani bermacam-macam tes diatas, laptop ini cukup terasa panas di bagian bawah keyboard. Alhasil telapak tangan bagian bawah pun juga turut terasa panas.

Saat digunakan hanya sebatas pekerjaan kantoran macam Office dan memutar .mp3, laptop ini sudah lebih dari cukup. Sementara saat digunakan untuk mengedit foto beresolusi diatas 3000 pixel dengan beberapa efek yang lumayan berat, laptop ini masih mampu bekerja tanpa tersendat.

Performa Baterai

Dari posisi kosong, laptop ini membutuhkan waktu pengisian baterai sekitar 2,5 jam. Untuk daya tahan baterai,detikINET mengetesnya dengan membuka browser Firefox serta Wifi dalam keadaan terus menyala. Sementara untuk setting display, laptop ini diset dalam posisi normal (default). Hasilnya Ideapad U460 dapat bertahan dalam durasi 5 jam: 09 menit :16 detik.

Tak hanya itu, detikINET pun melakukan tes benchmarking baterai dengan Imtec Battery Mark 1.1. Laptop ini dibebani tes dengan load prosesor 100 persen terus menerus. Hasilnya, Ideapad U460 mampu bertahan selama 3 jam: 10 menit: 46 detik.

Klik Menu “Start”, lalu ketik “Local Scurity Policy”.

Atau coba ketikkan “secpol.msc” di menu start. Lihat kolom kiri, laulu pilih “security settings > Local Policies > Security Options > Shutdown : Clear virtual memory pagefile”. Set value-nya menjadi “Disabled”.

Jika anda memiliki RAM system yang besar, sebaiknya anda tidak perlu menyetel virtual memory windows anda, anda dapat berjalan tanpa Virtual Memory jika Memory yang anda miliki berkapasitas besar.

Ini adalah cara dimana windows berjalan tanpa Virtual Memory.

Klik Kanan “ Computer > Properties”. Pilih “Advanced system settings”.

Klik “settings” pada bagian Performances. Pada window “Performances Option”. Klik tab “Advanced”.

Di bagian “Virtual Memory”, klik “Change”. Di situ anda dapat melihat di kandar mana XP menaruh Virtual Memory.
