I'd abandoned the idea of ever being thin, or even somewhat thin, again. Then I turned 34. Something had to change. I dropped almost all junk food and went back to Curves regularly. By Thanksgiving, I had lost about 10lbs.

We packed up the kids and went off to meet Mike's family for Thanksgiving dinner. I did pretty well and managed not to overeat. Mike's recently divorced uncle brought a new girlfriend. She's very nice and seemed to fit in well with the family. When we left, Mike commented that she "looks good for her age." She's 36. I have to wonder...at 36, am I going to look good for my age? I still love Curves and won't stop going. But I'm going to try something new.
I've signed up to be a distributor for a new product coming out soon. It's called FORM by Forever Green and O3World. Check it out here www.6661866.myo3world.com FORM is not available for purchase yet; but distributors are able to order sample packs. I ordered today and it should be coming via FedEx this week. I hope it's as good as it sounds. You can also read a blog about two people's journey with FORM here http://formfixx.blogspot.com/
FORM hopefully will do two things for me- help me lose weight and help me get money so I can quit my stinking full-time job.
Also new to my quest for money are www.zenzuu.com/doulamom (a myspace-like site that promises to share advertising revenue with members) and www.freebiescabin.com (my FreebieForce business- I love all the free stuff, and hopefully will get a little extra cash too.)
That's all for my shameless plugs.
I can't wait to get my 2 week supply of FORM and try it out!

Bellydance 101

Momo and I decided to join a bellydance class for fun and exercise. It's a 10 week series- but we joined in the third week, so it'll be 8 weeks for us. I hope we (meaning "I") can keep up that long! I was worried about being in a class full of pretty-slim-young-things. But it's actually a good variety. A couple of younger, very fit women, and then Momo- who's an ultra thin 13 year old. The rest are average to large sized and 30-40ish. I'm completely guessing on ages. We didn't get any introductions at all - not even to the instructor. But I assume they did that in the first couple of classes. Oh well.
We both had a great time, anyway. It's definitely a hard work-out. But it didn't feel like it at the time. My arnica is working overtime. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow even though I've been downing the stuff all day.
I don't aspire to be a bellydancer professionally. Gods know no one would want that! I don't even want to see it in the mirror! But at the very least, Momo and I will have something to do together and that we can connect through. That'll be worth all the soreness!

June

I've been bouncing around 5 lbs for months. I went to Curves yesterday and will go tomorrow morning. I was thinking of going this morning. And actually felt guilty because I decided not to. But I just browsed through curvesforum. Another member asked how many times she should be going. Most of the answers were for ONLY 3x per week, not more. So, now I don't feel guilty about not going today. I'll be happy with going Tues, Thurs, Sat.
I felt really tired for a good portion of the day after working out yesterday. I've heard a lot of people say they feel energized after the workout. Maybe it takes some time.
My MIL asked me to join a bowling league with her on Thurs nights. That should be fun and give me a little more exercise. I'm looking forward to it. But it starts tomorrow night and she'll be out of town (with my boys!). One of them is my weight. I've gained a considerable amount of weight over the past 12 years and 3 kids. Part of it is just growing up and becoming more woman than girl. But not all of it.
Now, it's time for a change. I can't live with myself this way anymore. I need to take better care of myself. I had been a member of Curves about 2 yrs ago. I quit going when I was pregnant with baby #3. And never returned. Well, that baby is now 18 months old. Mike and I have since joined the park district's fitness center. I think we actually went 3 times.
It's time to stop using my kids as an excuse for my weight. So on Friday, 8/31, I re-joined Curves. I'm going to post my weight here every week. I'll be weighing in on Saturdays.

Yikes! What happened to me? Oh well. Time to look forward. Not backwards. This is my journey to reconcile with myself and move on.

I worked out on Friday and on Saturday 9/1. They were closed on Sunday, and also today, for Labor Day. I'll be going in on Tues., Thurs., and Sat. I'd like to squeeze in at least one more.
