He may be shooting thousands of miles away in Cuba but the aura of Salman Khan was presiding over the most interesting maar-dhaad in recent memory.

On Monday morning, at a suburban night club where Sanjay Dutt had thrown a party to celebrate the success of his new film, Shah Rukh Khan bashed up an inebriated Shirish Kunder for misbehaving with him. And for good measure, Sanjay Dutt too slapped the director who was as high as a kite, and clearly overestimated his physical prowess.

So where does Sallu come into the picture?

Film editor and director Kunder who is married to Farah Khan is a known Salman acolyte and after the famous falling out between Salman and Shah Rukh, has vocally showed his support for the former.

After RA.One's lukewarm reception he had tweeted, "I just heard a 150 crore firework fizzle." Kunder was also the reason for the end of the SRK-Farah Khan friendship after Shah Rukh refused to act in Tees Maar Khan, which Kunder directed and Farah produced, citing a poor script.

The acrimony between the two men which had been building up over the months reached a flashpoint when Shah Rukh reached Dutt's party past 3.30 am. A source close to the actor said, "Shirish started to tail Shah Rukh saying, 'I am waiting...I am waiting.' He even followed him to the men's room and deliberately bumped into him.

After he came out of the washroom Shah Rukh went up to Shirish, held him by the neck and said, 'My children were very hurt when you tweeted about the movie. I had promised them I would slap you when I meet you next but I won't. I am just warning you that don't mess with me,' said the source who did not wish to be identified.

Kunder did away with discretion as part of his valour and retorted: 'I give a f*** about you,' sending Shah Rukh into paroxysm of rage. Eye witnesses who had by now abandoned their drinks and gathered around, claim that Shah Rukh first pulled Kunder's hair as he tried to escape, then his tee-shirt, and slapped him then sat astride him as he tried to hit Kunder again, saying, 'I'll destroy you, and throw you out of the industry. Aur tere friend ko ja ke bol mein uski maar doonga.' But while Sanjay Dutt and others tried to separate the two men, Aurus owner and another close friend of Salman, Baba Dewan was heard protesting about the slight directed at his absent pal. But by this time SRK was so angry that even when his good friend Priyanka Chopra tried to intervene, he brushed her aside.

Just when it seemed that Kunder's tribulations were over, he tried to get up and drunkenly staggered in Sanjay Dutt's wife Manyata's direction. This enraged Sanju baba who drew up to his full height and delivered what music channels like to call, 'One Tight Slap.'

"I was so disgusted that I left the party," said Shirish Kunder when we called him in the sobriety of day for his version of events. He denied that Dutt had slapped him. Onlookers insist otherwise.

"I did not provoke Shah Rukh Khan. One never expects that someone will come and attack you like this. There were three bodyguards around him so it was a clear signal for me to be quiet," added Kunder who had earlier in the evening annoyed director Indra Kumar by misbehaving with his daughter. "Fortunately, she can take care of herself," said Indra Kumar.

Farah Khan staunchly defended her husband. "Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem. Physical violence simply implies that the person who's hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on in his life. It saddens me to see him doing the same."

Salman Khan who heard about the fracas called up Kunder later on Monday to find out what had transpired and offer support. But the fight has deeply divided the industry with many openly coming out in SRK's favour. "Shirish and Farah should be grateful to SRK, he has done so much for Farah," tweeted Amisha Patel.

"I was present at Sanju's party and without any bias I fully support Shah Rukh," tweeted photographer Dabboo Ratnani.

Through the entire fight and subsequently, the management of the night club kept its stiff upper lip. "The restaurant does not intervene in the personal matters of its guests. There could have been a misunderstanding between the guests and unless things get out of control, we do not get involved," said its spokesperson.

The evening ended with Baba Dewan and Shah Rukh Khan driving to Mannat. No doubt to once again take the evening apart.

D’Decors Brand Ambassadors SRK and Gauri Khan

Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan have for the first time teamed up together to endorse D’Decor, the world’s third largest furnishing company, as its brand ambassadors.

‘I feel very humble and happy when any company signs me as their brand ambassador and so I am very happy to be part of D’Decor,’ Shahrukh told reporters at the Taj Lands End Hotel where he and his wife were officially declared the brand ambassadors.

Gauri, who was also present, said: ‘I haven’t worked so hard ever, so after working for two long days, I slept last two days. It was a fantastic experience.’

Shahrukh, like a sweet and protective husband, made sure Gauri was comfortable. He helped Gauri in the slightest of things like holding the microphone properly so that the media could hear whatever little she had to say.

Ajay Arora, managing director of D’Decor, decided to sign them as brand ambassadors because he felt they were the best examples of perfect homemakers.

‘We thought that apart from being celebrities, Shah Rukh and Gauri have made a wonderful home, both by decor and feeling, so we decided to make them brand ambassadors of the company,’ said Arora.

When it comes to mushy romantic sequences, even if they are for his high profile superhero action flick Ra.One, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan apparently bets only on his best bud filmmaker Karan Johar.

He flew away to London on Friday, reportedly to direct some romantic scenes, including a song, for Ra.One, featuring the Shah Rukh and Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor.

Shah Rukh tweeted Karan's arrival saying, "Been hectic days...with shoot going all around. Today Karan came to shoot...making him attend some action stuff, he looks most out of place."

Apparently Shah Rukh was not too keen to let the film's director Anubhav Sinha, who has earlier directed films like Dus and Cash, direct these crucial scenes and there have been 'reports' of arguments between the two.

Purported to be the most expensive film ever produced by Shah Rukh's production house Red Chillies Entertainment, the King Khan, it seems, didn't want to take any risks and so KJo was imported from India to 'assist' in the direction of some scenes and songs.

"Made karan attend the shooting...he is too sweet...so excited to be part of film making and wishes me so well, its very touching," he tweeted on Sunday.

There have been reports that the filming unit has been divided into two parts one filming the romantic scenes and songs ghost directed by Karan; meanwhile the other continuing with the rest of the filming lead by Sinha.

Mumbai On his 50th birthday on Tuesday, Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray received bouquets from unexpected quarters — Shah Rukh Khan and Mukesh Ambani. It was only two months ago that the Sena had threatened to stall the actor’s movie My Name is Khan for supporting Pakistani cricketers, and slammed the Reliance chairman for saying “Mumbai belonged to all Indians”.

In fact, the Reliance group went a step further and released a full-page advertisement with Uddhav’s photo in Sena’s mouthpiece Saamna on Tuesday.
“Uddhavji received a number of bouquets from sainiks, businessmen, industrialists all over the state but it was quite surprising to see bouquets from Khan and Ambani. Like others, they also sent their wishes,” said a source.
However, it was the Sena who had taken the first step to ease things by inviting Ambani for its May 1 function to celebrate 50 years of Maharashtra’s foundation. The industrialist had chosen to stay away.
Khan, for his part, had publicly said that he respected Bal Thackeray and had family relations with Uddhav, but refused to tender any apology as sought by Thackeray prior to the release of MNIK for statements in support of the inclusion of Pakistani players in the Indian Premier League.

The screenplay clearly shows that both Shibani Bathija and Karan Johar have done their research and done it well. You can see that in SRK’s mannerisms and in the bigger picture.
But the true credit of the film goes to only one person – Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh Khan carries the story entirely on his shoulder without any crutches of make-up and prosthetics, his signature lover boy image left at the door along with the designer clothes or larger than life dialogues.

What if the three Khans of Bollywood come together in a Hindi movie? I know it’s almost impossible to cast them all together, but still no harm to imagine, right?
Let’s see the movie through our mind’s eye…
1. Title of the movie – “Hello Brothers” (derived from Salman’s Hello Brother!)? Or “Bollywood ke 3 Taare Zameen Par” (Aamir’s Taare Zameen Par)? Or the best name…“Our name is Khan”! No better option, I guess!
2. Producer – Keeping in mind that both SRK and Aamir have produced films before, either one of them could be randomly picked as an option.
3. Story writer – This one for Salman Khan please! He couldn’t be the producer so let him be the writer for the movie. Well, he actually wrote for “Veer”.
4. Director – Ashutosh Gawarikar or Sanjay Leela Bhansali…both have worked with either two of the actors.
5. Lead Female – Rani Mukherji, Kareena Kapoor and Kajol. Actors free to choose their ladies! All of them have worked with all the three Khans.
6. Story – Three brothers’ story! SRK aka Rahul is a romantic guy, Aamir aka Sanjay is workaholic and perfectionist, and Salman aka Prem is a fighter in the army. They have their separate approaches towards life but still they have their own share of tiffs. If sometimes Rahul and Sanjay are not into talking terms, then Prem is friends with both of them. And if the spat is between Rahul and Prem, then Sanjay automatically becomes friends with Rahul! Confusing, I know…but can’t help it! (Inspired from a true story, you know!)
7. Dad of the brothers – Amitabh Bachchan…who else! (Rishtey mein to hum tumhare baap lagte hain!)
8. Climax – Nope! Can’t be revealed! (Well, I am not yet sure of that!)

For the very first time a Bollywood star will allow a TV network to telecast the details of his life on the television screen. Yes Sharukh Khan has allowed Discovery channel to film his personal and professional life and the show will hit the Indian television soon. Moreover Shahrukh’s own production company, Red Chillies Entertainment has jointly produced the television series along with Blue Mango. “I look forward to welcoming you all into my life,” said an excited Sharukh. In “My Name is Khan”, SRK is playing the character of Rizvan Khan. This person suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, which is an autism disorder and is characterised by difficulties in social interaction and behaviour. Half of the film is a true story based on a couple’s life in LA. Karan bought the rights of the story from them.
For the role, Shah Rukh has to gain weight, and that is what he is doing currently. “The role requires me to have a fuller look,” said the actor who has plunged into his character already and is doing research on autism to see how complex these individuals are. “I am reading, watching documentaries, meeting people who are affected by autism and doctors who deal with it. It’s very unnerving and I salute parents who bring up children with any disorders,” said SRK.
Shibani Bhatija, the screenplay writer of the My Name Is Khan, has SRK detained in LA as a suspected terrorist because he is a Muslim and his impairment makes his behaviour suspicious.

The ‘King’ of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, who’s busy with promotions of his upcoming movie ‘My Name is Khan’, in a recent interview, spoke about himself and the man again came up with strange and bizarre but intellectual words.

“I’m shy of myself on screen . I’m not fond of my face or physique. That’s why I am an actor so that I can play someone else,” he remarks.

“I’m not antisocial. I’m a quiet person, strangely reclusive. I’m not as confident as you think I am. I am thankful to Allah to be not so gifted and have all this. I’m great enough to be humble; I’m very happy when people say ‘SRK’s the best’. I’m happy by what I’ve done, but humble enough to know it’s not because of me. Yet put me on stage………and I’ll comfortably entertain you for an hour. As long as I’m an entertainer, I’ve no problems. It’s when I’m Shahrukh that the problems arise. I’m a fun guy; yet my kids enjoy their mother’s company more,” he signs off.

‘I feel 25,’ says Shah Rukh on 44th birthday

Mumbai, Nov 2 (IANS) Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned 44 Monday, but said he still feels just 25 - barring the physical problems he has had in the past year. The heartthrob also said he wants to work for youngsters and underprivileged girls.
“I have been in my 40s since a few years now and I gracefully accept the age. But honestly, I feel like I am just 25 or 26 except for the physical problems I’ve had in my past year,” Shah Rukh told reporters here.

“Maybe I look older, but then when I look younger, people say I get plastic surgeries done to my face. When I look old, they say I am over and done with. But the fact is that when I sleep well, I look young and when I don’t get enough sleep, I look old,” he quipped.

The actor underwent an arthroscopic surgery for acute pain in his left shoulder here in February and was on a forced break to recuperate completely. But he promises to make up for his absence.

“I am a workaholic, but in the last year I couldn’t do much due to my shoulder problem, my team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) didn’t do too well and I shot for just one film ‘My Name Is Khan’. My injury also pulled me down in terms of my endorsements but I had time to introspect and spend a quieter time at home and with my children.

“I feel more energetic and happy now and totally ready for a comeback with many projects in the next two years after this one year break,” added Shah Rukh.

Apart from work, he wants to do good to society by “doing something for youngsters, underprivileged girls and talk to 16- 17-year-old children who are on the threshold of voting for the government and lead the world forward”.

“I don’t know whether I want to join an NGO or something of the likes, but in my heart, I have this strong feeling that I want to give something back to society,” he said.

Among his forthcoming films are “My Name Is Khan”, Farah Khan’s “Happy New Year”, “Don 2″, but he says he is most keen to work in a superhero film, which is he is designing on his own.

SRK greeted his fans from his terrace in the early morning as hundreds of his fans gathered outside his house 'Mannat' to greet him. The crowd went mad just as Shah Rukh came to the terrace, and waved to his fans and blew kisses in his trade mark style.

His fan's presence proved that even after so many years Khan has neither lost the charm nor his fan following.
