Dr. Dre said that the last beat that floored him was “All About the Benjamins.” How does that make you feel?
It’s humbling. I was in the studio with Dre the other day. He started working on a record for me. Watching him as a producer is watching greatness. We had a lot of similar traits. It was like looking in the mirror. He would ask questions like, “How you feel about this?” People don’t really understand true producers want to know how you feel about things. We are some of the most observant people on the planet.

What happened during the Martin Bashir interview on Nightline?
There were times in the interview when I had to give him an ultimatum. The questions weren’t being handled the right way. In hindsight, when I saw him I shouldn’t had done the interview because I know the style of interview that he does . . . The whole thing about giving a Maybach to my son, that’s really like a racist question. You don’t ask White people what they buy their kids. And they buy ‘em Porsches and convertible Bentleys and it ain’t no question. It’s really a racist question and put things back in perspective with money and the way that people still look at you. And I’m not saying that consciously he’s a racist. But he probably don’t even realize that he would not ask Steve Jobs that. He would be like Steve Jobs has that money and that’s the gift his kid is supposed to get.

Are the comments from Lil’ Kim about Nicki disheartening?
When I heard her say what she said, it didn’t really affect me. I didn’t get mad at her or anything like that. I knew how she felt. I ain’t agree with it. But also I know the motivation. I know that people say, “Oh, he’s trying to get a new Lil’ Kim.” I guess people will see in time. Yeah, Nicki’s had flavored wigs on, but besides that it ain’t even the same approach to the writing.

According to sources, Kanye West's "POWER" remix will feature some of the hottest artists in the game. Kanye tweeted on the progress of his sessions, "Scheduled studio visits 2day, Nikki [Minaj], John Legend, Mos Def, Swizz Beatz, Pusha T, Phillip Lim." Needless to say, he's back. He also mentioned, "I might have to put out 5 albums this year ... My spirit is full ... My heart is open ... People want new music ... I can't hold it back."

He also uploaded a picture that was taken from the studio, featuring Swizzy, Mos Def, and Kobe Bryant. Speaking on working with Kobe, "There's so many ways to break down the subject of power ... me and Kobe went in on it... Perfect person to help out on that." It should be a dope remix.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - It's not hard to figure out that stocking school vending machines with sugary sodas and salty, fatty snacks is a bad idea. Replacing those culinary culprits with something more nutritious is tougher. But a growing number of school districts around the country are trying anyway. Efforts to get empty calories out of students' hands are being made in almost every state, according to the Centers for Disease Control. A 2008 School Health Profiles Survey found that fewer secondary schools were selling less nutritious snacks compared with two years before.
According to the Institute of Medicine and the National Center for Health Statistics, the average young person gets more than 10 percent of his or her calories from saturated fat, takes in less than two-thirds the recommended intake of calcium and more than double the recommended amount of sodium. And for boys and girls ages 9 to 13, 21 percent get more than one-fourth of their energy intake from added sugars.

Food in the lunch and breakfast programs must meet nutritional standards to qualify for federal reimbursement, but food sold in other school venues, including vending machines, aren't subject to those requirements. Some states have passed their own laws regulating vending machines, including California, which forbids some non-nutritious snacks. In San Francisco, the school board has a stricter policy, passing a wellness policy implemented in the 2003-04 year that banned sodas (this is now part of the state standard, too) and nixed snacks like baked potato chips.

Drinks allowed in San Francisco school vending machines include water, juice, milk and juice/water blends with no added sweeteners, caffeine or herbal supplements. Snacks include yogurt bars, tuna salad and crackers, fruit bars and sunflower seeds. Healthier snack machines are showing up all over. Jolly Backer, CEO of San Diego-based Fresh Healthy Vending, says the company has machines in 1,700 locations, including schools, across the United States. Offerings include items such as yogurts and fresh fruit. 'All the top-selling drinks and snacks that you'd find in a Whole Foods Market you'll find in our machines,' says Backer.

Don't be alarmed. Russell Simmons' assistant was not harmed in this incident; however, she was part of a PETA demonstration for the unethical treatment of animals. Simone Reyes was one of three volunteers, who was wrapped like a piece of meat and placed in the middle of Times Square. She braved the 90-degree heat with efforts to raise awareness for vegetarianism. PETA's argument was that animals are just like humans in the sense that they live and breathe also. When asked what their goal was, a PETA volunteer exclaimed,

"To raise some awareness about the cruelty surrounding the meat and dairy industry, and hopefully turn a few people 'veg!'" "We are challenging people to really think about what 'meat' is," says PETA senior campaigner Ashley Byrne. "When you eat flesh, you're eating the corpse of an abused animal who did not want to die. We're encouraging kind consumers to try going vegan."

For those of you who recall, we recently posted a write-up about a new hit reality "Asian Jersey Shore" television show that is co-produced by Tyrese Gibson. Well folks, the time has arrived. The cast has been selected, complete with bleach-blonde hair, chiseled arms and pecs, and plenty of K-town fist pumping. Ladies and gentlemen, allow us to introduce you to: Steve Kim, Violet Kim, Jasmine Chang, Scarlet Chan, Jennifer Field, Young Lee, Peter Lee, and Joe Cha.

It's about time somebody created an Asian American reality show without all of the typicial stereotypes included! We give major props to Gibson for introducing this hit new series (with an Asian flare) to America.
