O benzeno é uma substância cancerígena que aparece nos refrigerantes, como resultado da combinação do ácido benzóico, um conservante com vitamina C.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fernanda Ribeiro, pesquisadora dos alimentos da Associação, diz que das sete marcas, cinco ficaram dentro do limite aceitável, seguindo a regulamentação que fiscaliza o nível desta substância na água mineral no Brasil, que é abaixo de 5 microgramas por litro. Outras duas marcas ultrapassaram esta medida: a Fanta Laranja Light, na qual foi encontrada 7,5 microgramas, e a Sukita Zero, com 20 microgramas de benzeno.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“&lt;i&gt;O que solicitamos é que as empresas substituam o ácido benzóico da sua fórmula para que a reação não ocorra&lt;/i&gt;”, argumenta. A técnica ainda acrescenta que, nos refrigerantes de laranja e na marca Grapette, foram encontrados dois corantes impróprios para as crianças. Um destes, o amarelo tartrazina, presente no Grapette, pode causar alergias. Já o amarelo crepúsculo, encontrado nas versões da Fanta e da Sukita, causa hiperatividade e, por isto, é proibido em vários países europeus.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Outro ponto de alerta do teste é para os hipertensos. A presença de sódio nos refrigerantes pode agravar o problema ou desenvolvê-lo em pessoas saudáveis. Segundo a pesquisadora Fernanda Ribeiro, o Dolly Cola Diet possui 31% deste elemento na sua composição e a Aqua Zero Açúcar 29%.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Crianças - para a ingestão dos refrigerantes, as análises da ProTeste levaram em conta crianças de quatro a seis anos, em média com 20 quilos, e adultos de 70 quilos. A Associação não recomenda o consumo deste tipo de bebida por crianças abaixo desta idade.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Este caminho não foi seguido por Leonardo Santana, cinco anos, que começou a beber refrigerante aos quatro anos. Sua mãe, Maria Auxiliadora, conta que quando ele começou a entender o que era refrigerante e a pedir ficou difícil controlar. “&lt;i&gt;Nós temos o hábito de beber refrigerante. Ele acabou adquirindo este hábito nosso&lt;/i&gt;“, diz.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A mãe diz que dá a bebida, no máximo, duas vezes por semana, e aos sábados e domingos. “&lt;i&gt;Já na escolinha é suco todos os dias e durante os lanches da tarde também&lt;/i&gt;”, salienta. Ela também já tentou fazer com que ele compreenda que a bebida não é boa para a sua alimentação, mas diz que não chega a proibir de vez. “&lt;i&gt;Até porque acho que o erro está na gente. O correto seria que diminuíssemos a nossa quantidade. Mas hoje, já percebo que ele gosta&lt;/i&gt;”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Além dos problemas encontrados, Fábio Rodrigo dos Santos, nutricionista e conselheiro do Conselho Regional de Nutricionistas, alerta que os refrigerantes possuem calorias vazias, já que não oferecem nenhum nutriente para o organismo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Segundo o especialista, estudos indicam que consumir mais de uma latinha por semana já aumenta o risco de diabetes e hipertensão de 25% a 30% em adultos. “&lt;i&gt;Por conta da alta presença de fósforo, o organismo deixa de absorver o cálcio, o que pode causar osteoporose nas mulheres e má formação dentária e óssea nas crianças&lt;/i&gt;”, acrescenta o especialista.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Também não é recomendável que as crianças comecem a ingerir bebidas gaseificadas antes dos seis anos. Para o nutricionista, antes desta fase a capacidade gástrica delas é pequena, e a ingestão destas bebidas pode substituir outra refeição. “&lt;i&gt;Se for para consumir, que seja de uma forma esporádica&lt;/i&gt;”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Em resposta ao A TARDE, a AmBev, responsável pela Sukita, diz: “&lt;i&gt;A AmBev informa que não teve acesso à pesquisa e, portanto, não pode comentar. A companhia reforça que trabalha sob os mais rígidos padrões de qualidade e em total atendimento à legislação brasileira&lt;/i&gt;”, informa em nota.
