I’m way behind on updates, but I wanted to share the spread Stella and I have in the latest issue of Pup Culture Magazine.  Michelle Macirella from Luminaria Photography is amazing, and so much fun to chat with too.

Stella and I have been getting to know each other on new terms over the past few months, and I’m continually amazed by the depth of her spirit.  She never lets fear get in the way of loyalty, (nor does she let my desire to sleep in get in the way of our morning jog).

I’m honored to be included in the magazine and love having these photos with one of my dearest friends.

Last week was a whirlwind! I kicked off pub day with an interview at 13Wham News This Morning (watch here), and chased it with a great chat with Bill Kenower from Author2Author Radio about superhero nosebleeds, outlining, and how writing is a lot like gardening (listen here).  And had interviews up at SheKnows.com, Chick Lit is Not Dead, Chick Lit Central, and Chick Lit Bee.

Friday night was my first reading for WHY CAN’T I BE YOU, and it was fun to kick it all off at the Greece Barnes & Noble.  I even got to see Steph the Bookworm (right), her friend Taylor (left), and her mom, Kim (taking the photo) – three of my favorite Rochester book lovers.

Today, I’m at Writer Unboxed talking about public speaking and making sure your fly is zipped.

I realized this morning that I hadn’t had the chance to announce the winner of the pre-order contest!  Picked by random number generator, Pauline, is the winner of the bag full of books from Plume.  And I’m sending off my donation to Planet Dog Foundation!  Thank you so much to everyone who entered!  And I hope you’ll take a moment to learn a little bit more about how service dogs and how Planet Dog Foundation supports the efforts of service dog organizations.

You might think I’d be used to this now, but you’d be wrong.  My belly does a backflip every time I think about it.

I’ll be on 13 Wham News This Morning toward the end of the 7:00 hour.  And chatting with Bill Kenower, Editor-in-Chief of AUTHOR Magazine on Author2Author Radio at 5PM EST.

And WCIBY has started to make appearances across the internet.  It’s SheKnows.com’s Red Hot Book of the Week, which means for a little while this morning, I was sharing webpage space with Bradley Cooper and a muscular gold guy.

There’s still a little bit of time to sneak in an entry to the WCIBY Pre-Order Extravaganza.

Since one of my favorite organizations – Planet Dog Foundation – was so helpful to me while collecting research for WCIBY, I thought it would be fun to organize a pre-order contest to benefit PDF.

Yesterday, while I cleaned my office, the cat came in and puked on my 2012 date book, and I thought: exactly.

I’ve been putting off posting because for the past few years I’ve done a year end wrap-up post, but right now I don’t want to look back.  Last year was one of the roughest I’ve been through, punctuated by the loss of one of my dearest friends.

So I’m not going to do a wrap-up this year.  2012 can bite my shiny metal….oh, I watch too much Futurama.  Still, I managed to accomplish a great deal in 2012 and my goal for this year is to see those accomplishments through.

My other goal is to help Stella be the happiest dog she can be.  We’ve been working with some amazing trainers to help her navigate the world without her best friend. It’s helping me too.

So, goodbye 2012. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

And here’s to a year of health, happiness, new projects and good friends!

Argo passed away on Tuesday afternoon.  Jeremy, Stella and I cuddled with him to the very end. We loved him fiercely.
