The Purge trailer really surprised me a while back. Usually I'm pretty good at guessing the film from the first few frames or at least the first few seconds of a trailer but when I saw this, I had no idea what it was.

I don't mean poorly written, I mean despicable, seemingly irredeemable scum of the earth types. As I'm watching, I'm finding myself making mental notes of who I want to die and even how I'd like to see them bite the dust.

It also adds in a great deal of excellent hand to hand and gun toting combat to the mix with some real punch present in the fight scenes.

I look at what is topping the charts each week and how much money they are making and often compare it to their budgets to see how much profit they are taking. Not only does she star as the lovely Ruby Sparks, this is also her debut screenplay. It is a fantastic script that showcases her wonderful acting and hilarious comic performance alongside Paul Dano who makes a potentially hideous character mostly bearable.

There have been rumblings about Robert Downey Jr being ready to hang up the helmet and leave Tony Stark in his past but now Kevin Feige has stepped up to claim that there will most certainly be an Iron Man 4 with or without RDJ.

It had me gripped from the first episode but I wonder how much of that was the expectation built up by all the great things I've been hearing about it.




I'm loving that really it all seems to be about set-up so far.
