MURDER MYSTERY ( TRUE STORY)

For those who have served on a jury...this one is something to think about. Just when you think you have heard everything!!

Do you like to read a good murder mystery? Not even Law and Order would attempt to capture this mess. This is an

unbelievable twist of fate!!!!

At the 1994 annual awards dinner given for Forensic Science, (AAFS) President,

Dr. Don Harper Mills astounded his audience with the legal complications of a

bizarre death. Here is the story:

On March 23,1994, the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and

concluded that he died from a shotgun wound to the head. Mr. Opus had jumped

from the top of a ten-story building intending to commit suicide.

He left a note to the effect indicating his despondency. As he fell past

the ninth floor, his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast passing through a

window, which killed him instantly.

Neither the shooter nor the deceased was aware that a safety net had been

installed just below the eighth floor level to protect some building workers and

that Ronald Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide the way he had

planned.

The room on the ninth floor, where the shotgun blast emanated, was occupied by

an elderly man and his wife. They were arguing vigorously and he was

threatening her with a shotgun! The man was so upset that when he pulled the

trigger, he completely missed his wife, and the pellets went through the window,

striking Mr. Opus.

When one intends to kill subject 'A' but kills subject 'B' in the attempt, one

is guilty of the murder of subject 'B.'

When confronted with the murder charge, the old man and his wife were both

adamant, and both said that they thought the shotgun was not loaded. The old

man said it was a long-standing habit to threaten his wife with the unloaded

shotgun. He had no intention to murder her. Therefore the killing of Mr.

Opus appeared to be an accident; that is, assuming the gun had been accidentally

loaded.

The continuing investigation turned up a witness who saw the old couple's son

loading the shotgun about six weeks prior to the fatal accident. It

transpired that the old lady had cut off her son's financial support and the

son, knowing the propensity of his father to use the shotgun threateningly,

loaded the gun with the expectation that his father would shoot his mother.

Since the loader of the gun was aware of this, he was guilty of the murder

even though he didn't actually pull the trigger. The case now becomes one of

murder on the part of the son for the death of Ronald Opus.

Now comes the exquisite twist....

Further investigation revealed that the son was, in fact, Ronald Opus.

He had become increasingly despondent over the failure of his attempt to

engineer his mother's murder. This led him to jump off the ten-story building

on March 23rd, only to be killed by a shotgun blast passing through the ninth

story window.

The son, Ronald Opus, had actually murdered himself.. So the medical

examiner closed the case as a suicide.

Boudreaux, an 80-year-old South Louisiana Cajun, goes to the doctor for his every year check-up.

The doctor is amazed at what good shape he is in and asks, "How you stay in such great physical condition, Boudreaux?"

"I stay in the swamp and I hunt and fish every day" says the old Cajun, and, that's why I'm in such good shape. "I'm up well before daylight and out hunting or fishing all day. I have a beer for breakfast and at lunch and wid my supper. And I have a shot of houch before bed time. And I say my prayers every night. And all is well wid me"

"Well", says the doctor, "I'm sure those prayers help, but there's got to be more to it. How old was your father when he died?"

"Who said Pop is dead?"

The doctor is amazed. "You mean you're 80 years old and your father's still alive? How old he is?"

"Pop be 100 next month," say Boudreaux. "In fact, he hunted with me this morning, and then we went to a "beer joint" for a while and had a few beers and that's why he's still alive. He's a tough Cajun man And he hunts and fishes every day, too.

"Well, the doctor says, that's great, but I'm sure there's more to it than that. How about your father's father? How old was he when he died?"

"Who said my Paw Paw's dead?"

Stunned, the doctor asks, "You mean you're 80 years old, your father is 100 and your grandfather's still living? Incredible! How old he is?"

"We tink 'bout 118." says the old Cajun. He likes his beer too, but he wont touch the hard stuff."

The doctor is getting frustrated at this point, "So, I guess your grandfather went hunting and fishing with you'll this morning too?"

"No, Paw Paw couldn't go this time. He's getting married today." At this point the doctor is close to losing it. "Getting married! Why would a 118-year-old man want to get married?"

Boudreaux looked down at the floor and mumbled "Who said he wanted to?"

IS SEX WORK

A U.S. Marine Colonel was about to start the morning briefing to his staff.
While waiting for the coffee machine to finish brewing, the colonel
decided to pose a question to all assembled.
He explained that his wife had been a bit frisky the night before and he failed to get his usual amount of sound sleep.
He posed the question of just how much of sex was "work" and how much of it was "pleasure?"
A Major chimed in with 75-25% in favor of work.
A Captain said it was 50-50%.
A lieutenant responded with 25-75% in favor of pleasure, depending upon his state of inebriation at the time.
There being no consensus, the colonel turned to the PFC who was in charge of making the coffee and asked for HIS opinion?
Without any hesitation, the young PFC responded, "Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure."
The colonel was surprised and as you might guess, asked why?
"Well, sir, if there was any work involved, the officers would have me doing it for them."
The room fell silent.

ANOTHER QUICK READ FOR THOSE WHO WANT A LAUGH !!!

The Sierra Club and the U.S. Forest Service were presenting an alternative to the Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population. It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true method of shooting or trapping the predators, the Sierra Club had a "more humane" solution to this issue. What they were proposing was for the animals to be captured alive. The males would then be castrated and let loose again. This was ACTUALLY proposed by the Sierra Club and by the U.S. Forest Service. Finally an old fellow wearing a big cowboy hat in the back of the conference room stood up, tipped his hat back and said; "Son, I don't think you understand our problem here... these coyotes ain't f'ing our sheep... they're eatin' 'em!" EAR INFECTION

This is so true! They always ask at the doctor's office why you are there, and you have to answer in front of others what's wrong and sometimes it is embarrassing.

There's nothing worse than a Doctor's Receptionist who insists you tell her what is wrong with you in a room full of other patients.

I know most of us have experienced this, and I love the way this old guy handled it.

A 65-year-old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk.

The Receptionist said, 'Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?'

'There's something wrong with my dick', he replied.

The receptionist became irritated and said, 'You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that. '

'Why not, you asked me what was wrong and I told you,' he said.

The Receptionist replied; 'Now you've caused some embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something and discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private.'

The man replied, 'You shouldn't ask people questions in a roomful of strangers, if the answer could embarrass anyone. The man walked out, waited several minutes, and then re-entered.

The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, 'Yes??'

'There's something wrong with my ear,' he stated.

The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice.. 'And what is wrong with your ear, Sir?'

'I can't piss out of it,' he replied.

The waiting room erupted in laughter...

many have forgotten and still countless others
have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only
the idea of our country, but specific men who
served and sacrificed during
Vietnam

The first part of this is from an F-4E
pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll,
a River Rat.
In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the
' Hanoi Hilton.'
Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell,
cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was
ordered to describe for a visiting American 'Peace
Activist' the 'lenient and humane treatment' he'd
received.
He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was
dragged away. During the subsequent beating,
he fell forward
on to the camp Commandant 's feet, which sent
that officer berserk.
In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered
from double vision (which permanently ended his
flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied
application of a wooden baton.
From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the
47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the 'Hanoi
Hilton',,, the first three of which his family
only knew he was 'missing in action'. His wife
lived on faith that he was still alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed
and clothed routine in preparation for a 'peace
delegation' visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan
to get word to the world that they were alive
and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece
of paper, with his Social Security Number on it
, in the palm of his hand.
When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman,
she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and
asking little encouraging snippets like: 'Aren't
you sorry you bombed babies?' and 'Are you grateful
for the humane treatment from your benevolent
captors?' Believing this HAD to be an act, they
each palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat..
At the end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs,
she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper..
Three men died from the subsequent beatings.
Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he
survived, which is the only reason we know of
her actions that day.
I was a civilian economic development advisor
in Vietnam , and was captured by the North Vietnamese
communists in South Vietna m in 1968, and held
prisoner for over 5 years.
I spent 27 months in solitary confinement;
one year in a cage in Cambodia ; and one year
in a 'black box' in Hanoi My North Vietnamese
captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female
missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me
Thuot , South Vietnam , whom I buried in the
jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I
weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is
170 lbs)
We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals..'
When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi , I was asked
by the camp communist political officer if I would
be willing to meet with her..
I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about
the real treatment we POWs received... and how
different it was from the treatment purported
by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as
'humane and lenient.'
Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky
floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with
a large steel weights placed on my hands, and
beaten with a bamboo cane.
I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda
soon after I was released. I asked her if
she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never
did answer me.
These first-hand experiences do not exemplify
someone who should be honored as part of
'100 Years of Great Women.' Lest we forget....'
100 Years of Great Women' should never include
a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood
of so many patriots.
There are few things I have strong visceral
reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in
blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the
time to forward to as many people as you possibly
can.. It will eventually end up on her computer
and
she needs to know that we will never forget.

Sick Leave

I urgently needed a few days off work, but, I knew the Boss would not allow me to take a leave.

I thought that maybe if I acted 'Crazy' then he would tell me to take a few days off.

So I hung upside-down on the ceiling and made funny noises.

My co-worker (who's blonde) asked me what I was doing.

I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss would think I was 'Crazy' and give me a few days off.

A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked, 'What in the name of good GOD are you doing?'

I told him I was a light bulb.

He said, 'You are clearly stressed out.' Go home and recuperate for a couple of days.'

I jumped down and walked out of the office...

When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her, '..And where do you think you're going?!'

She said, 'I'm going home, too. I can't work in the dark.

A Little
Christmas Story

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.
Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor.. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.
Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'
And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.
Not a lot of people know this.

In Seville, Spain, some local people found a way to stop the construction of another mosque in their town. They buried a pig on the site, making sure this would be known by the local press. Islamic rules forbid erecting a Mosque on "pig soiled ground". The Muslims had to cancel the project... this land had been sold to them by government officials... No protests were needed by the local people... and it worked!!
Not dummies... the Spaniards. They found a solution!!! No protests needed!
In Texas they have an over abundance of feral pigs. They could send them all over the country and just plant them everywhere! After all, contaminated soil would surely drift and they could create new job programs by having soil testers to determine where contaminated soil existed. Of course, high on the mountain tops of the Rockies or other mountain ranges they might find some uncontaminated soil, but then, building a mosque there would pose some problems. Americans... put on your thinking caps and let’s find a solution to this problem of a spreading menace to the American way of life! If pigs are the answer, let’s do it!

IT NEVER ENDS YOU JUST KEEP ON PACKING. ON THE OTHER HAND YOU FIND THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW YOU HAD UNTIL SOMEONE SAYS THAT'S MINE.

PACK IT GOOD.
YOU HAVE TO PACK A TRUCK - FRONT TO BACK - 3 AND A HALF TIMES IN A 17 FOOT TRUCK. HELL IT ONLY TOOK 2 TRUCK LOADS LAST TIME!!

THEN YOU HAVE TO UNLOAD 3 AND A HALF TIMES - MY GARAGE IS PACKED AND WILL PROBABLY TAKE A MONTH TO PUT EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE!

BUT, YOU'RE IN A NEW PLACE, EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD ONLY THING IS NOW YOU KNOW YOU HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE OLD HOUSE AND CLEAN OR YOU DON’T GET YOUR FULL DEPOSIT BACK. :(

WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, YOU GET TO SETTLE DOWN AND ENJOY THE NEW SURROUNDINGS -- BUT NOW THE PROBLEM IS MY POOL TABLE IS NOT PUT BACK TOGETHER YET!! THE 3 PIECE SLATE WILL TAKE A COUPLE OF DAYS - THEN AND ONLY THEN, WILL THE JOB REALLY BE DONE. HELL, THE REST CAN WAIT -- BREAK TIME!!

LIFE WITHOUT A CELL PHONE

If you are 50, or older, you might think this is hilarious!
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... Barefoot... BOTH ways. yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that I'm over the ripe old age of forty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!
1) I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have the Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
2) There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox, and it would take like a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!
3) Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!
4) There were no MP3's or Napsters or iTunes! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself!
5) Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio, and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished, and then the tape would come undone rendering it useless. Cause, hey, that's how we rolled, Baby! Dig?
6) We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called, they got a busy signal, that's it!
7) There weren't any freakin' cell phones either. If you left the house, you just didn't make a damn call or receive one. You actually had to be out of touch with your "friends". OH MY GOSH !!! Think of the horror... not being in touch with someone 24/7!!! And then there's TEXTING. Yeah, right. Please! You kids have no idea how annoying you are.
8) And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your parents, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, the collection agent... you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
9) We didn't have any fancy PlayStation or Xbox video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your screen guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen... Forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
10) You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel!!! NO REMOTES!!! Oh, no, what's the world coming to?!?!
11) There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying? We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!
12) And we didn't have microwaves. If we wanted to heat something up, we had to use the stove! Imagine that!
13) And our parents told us to stay outside and play... all day long. Oh, no, no electronics to soothe and comfort. And if you came back inside... you were doing chores!
And car seats - oh, please! Mom threw you in the back seat and you hung on. If you were lucky, you got the "safety arm" across the chest at the last moment if she had to stop suddenly, and if your head hit the dashboard, well that was your fault for calling "shot gun" in the first place!
See! That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled rotten! You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in the 1970's or any time before!

JERUSALEM, Israel - An estimated 300 million Christians from more than 175 nations are expected to unite in prayer on Sunday, October 3, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

More than 1,000 Christian leaders support the annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, sponsored by the U.S.-based Eagles' Wings ministry.

"It is a new day in the Christian Church," said Rev. Robert Stearns, founder and executive director of Eagles' Wings ministries and co-founder of the "Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem."

"There are millions of Christians declaring that they will pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We are not spectators, we are not bystanders, and we will not be silent…The sin of silence [during the Holocaust] will not be repeated… Shalom to Israel is shalom for the world!" Stearns said at last year's gathering.

Organizers say it has become the "largest Israel-focused prayer event in history" since it began in 2002 drawing Israeli political and religious leaders, as well as Christians from around the world.

According to the Day of Prayer website, the day is intended to "raise global awareness and intercession for God's purposes in Israel."

As in previous years, the local Jerusalem celebration of the day of prayer will be streamed live on the Internet via God TV from a venue overlooking the city.

Why Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem?

"Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem" co-founder Dr. Pastor Jack Hayford said praying for the peace of Jerusalem is actually praying for the Kingdom of God to come.

"To pray for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray, 'Lord, let your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth, not only in the ultimate revelation of His King coming from Heaven, but in the present revelation of God's peace as it comes into our hearts in a troubled world, to bring to the heartbeat center of the world, something of a peace that alleviates the tensions, the hatred, the bombings, the torments," Hayford said.

Hayford is the founder of Foursquare Church, Church on the Way.

Michael Little, president of the Christian Broadcasting Network, said praying for the peace of Jerusalem is a matter of obedience.

"The enemy of our souls wants to destroy Israel; he is opposed to the peace of Jerusalem, just as he is opposed to God's grace working in each one of us. It is essential that we obey the scriptures and pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for the people of Israel, and for all those that are influenced by the Prince of Peace around the world," Little explained.

Jane Hansen Hoyt of Aglow International said as spiritual and natural warfare increase so must prayer for the peace of Jerusalem.

"The biblical mandate to 'pray for the peace of Jerusalem' must take on greater priority in our lives as we watch the intensity of warfare increase, both in the natural and spiritual realms, over God's end-time purposes for His people - Israel and the Body of Christ," she said

UFO OR JUST A LIGHT

UFO sightings at an airport in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, have forced the airport to shut down in order to prevent passenger planes crashing into a UFO, according to reports. Three flights from Shanghai and Beijing were apparently forced to circle the airport until the “UFO” disappeared.

Two other flights were diverted away from the area to the nearby cities of Ordos and Taiyuan. The airport was closed for an hour "to guarantee safety" according to a spokesman. YouTube has a video showing a black night with small lights flitting over the sky. While there is no denying the airport closure, the validity of the video cannot be verified.

Witnesses reported a bright light shining in the sky on September 11 a short distance away from Baotou airport, before vanishing. The incident was one of a number of reported UFO sightings in China
