HAPPY NEW YEAR, YOU GUYS !!

It is now the year 2012 ! Phew, anyone who felt that 2011 went by so fast please raise their hand and join my gank. I thought last year went by like a whirlwind, time goes by so fast. But I am still thankful because I had quite a lot of fun and precious moments with my family and friends during 2011. There was one big resolution that's been haunting me for years that I finally got done in 2011, and there were another resolutions that we still haven't been successful in fulfilling it. But we hope we can nail it this year instead! One step at a time, One hope then another :)

Okay, before we went to my 2011 recap I would like to apologize first for the lateness in winner announcement for the Wayfair giveaway. Now that the winner has been announced, let's move on to 2011 recap. Since this is a fashion & beauty blog anyway so I would talk about outfit recap instead. I would put up a more general recap on my other blog Tigerlily's Book, I'll put up my 2011 highlights in all things general over there, so check that blog in a few hours to see what We (me, hubby, and the blogs) have accomplished so far ^o^

So last year my first January 2011 post was about a recap of the items that I mostly worn during 2010. But this year I thought I'd do a different thing and I would just do a simple 2011 outfit highlights instead ;p

As I may have mentioned before in this blog, I started a personal project in 2009 to try not to wear the same outfit in a whole year. And so I did it in 2010 by not repeating any outfit at all. And then I decided to continue the project to see how far my wardrobe would go without having to repeat any outfit. And there were successfully no repeated outfit during 2011 either, so I did it for two years in a row now!! Two years of not repeating any outfit at all, wow!
Well that doesn't necessarily means that I have huge closets full of clothes, not at all. It just proves that with a little mix n match you can expand your wardrobe ten times larger ^o^

So anyway, here's my 2011 outfit highlights (click for bigger pics):

Well, you can see from above highlight shots that during 2011 my outfit styling was more into three styles:
Feminine,
Casual,
and a bit Edgy Rock-er-ish.

I compared it to my overall 2010 look and I figured that my 2011 style was more developed and more pronounced than my 2010 style. I started to realize what my signature look were. This helped me in deciding on which clothes to buy when I go shopping. I now know which items that can help my wardrobe grow bigger and "worth to buy", so no more impulsive shopping where I tend to buy clothes that I never wear ;)

So I'm hoping to be smarter when shopping for clothes from now on, therefore no money go to waste ^o^

What I Wear: to a Wedding

So as I shortly explained on my last haul post, one of my friend was having her wedding a couple of weeks ago on early December, and she gave me this peach brocade lace garment that supposed to be a "dresscode uniform" on her wedding. So here in Indonesia it's a popular gesture to do that. It’s almost the same as a bride giving her bridesmaids the same coordinated dresses or a bride choosing a specific color for her bridesmaids to wear as a “uniform dresscode” at the reception.
Here we gave the family and close friends (in substitute of bridesmaids) the same clothing garment so that each of them can go to their tailor and everyone will turned up at the reception wearing the same garment as “uniform” to differentiate them from the other guests.

So anyway I received a lace brocade fabric in peach, and I gave my tailor a picture of a dress from a catalog, but in the end she decided to made it a little different by adding a V waistline and shorten the sleeves. Although it didn’t turned out exactly like I had in mind, I thought the end result is pretty cute ;)

I've been wanting a lace dress in soft pastel hue for so long, and now I finally have one. Although it's not exactly the dress I had in mind but the pretty peach color and the romantic silhouette of the dress pretty much satisfy me. But I actually felt a little bit childish in this outfit though... Hubs said it isn't so, he said it didn't make me look childish, but I have one little girl commenting on how pretty the dress look, and another commenter on my Chictopia page said that I looked like a Disney princess in a good way. And that just answer my question, right? ^o^

Well I don't mind looking like a princess since I have always want to be a princess since I was a child (don't we all?) ;p

So anyway for the wedding reception party I decided to pair the peach lace dress with silver adornments. And I think the color combo works out really well!

Necklace is a gift from Saudi Arabia (courtesy of my aunt), Earrings and Bracelet are from the white gold jewelry set my MIL gave me, Sparkly floral ring is from De Moda, Silver triple headband is from Naughty, Silver Oriental-inspired purse is from Elizabeth, Silver Grey Heeled Sandals are from Fladeo.

New Things in My Wardrobe (NOVEMBER)

Okay so to continue my long-overdue "New Things in My Wardrobe" post, I split my October hauls on yesterday's post and now I will be doing the November post.

I actually made a mistake on yesterday's post. Some of the items featured on October's hauls are supposed to be November's hauls so the Pantene Pro V Intensive Treatment, the Marks & Spencers Moisture Rich Hand Wash, all of the Jakarta Fashion Week goodies and the Montego Bay sandals as well as the Jordana taupe shoes from Payless are supposed to be in this November's hauls. The only Payless haul during October was the Silver Eden flat shoes which my MIL bought me. So I had edited my yesterday's post and move all of the above mentioned items to today's post. So here are my November's purchases and freebies:

Goodies I got from Jakarta Fashion Week:
ISIS tote bag + JFW 2012 pin, Mango tote bag, Sarinah notebook, Kerastase Resistance series samples (lots of 'em!), L'oreal Hair Spa Nourishing Creambath and Energizing Scalp Lotion.

If you remember I got all these freebies from the Jakarta Fashion Week 2011/2012 event. I posted about these freebies here. I gave the Kerastase Resistance sample bundles to my cousin because it was intended for damaged and dry hair while mine is oily and not dry at all. And below are some details of the products that I have used:

I really love the Mango tote bag, especially because of the color! Black and pink is one of my all-time favorite combo!

Among the samples are toning lotion, gel mask, and peeling gel from Biocell and 3 tubes of Green Coconut Milk Conditioner from Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa. I got these in my souvenir bag from the Wolipop & Bank Mandiri "Edgy Style" fashion show.

A garment fabric from Cirebon

This is also a freebie I got from my sister in law's husband's mother. Well, technically it is from my sister in law's mother in law. Hahaha the connection is pretty confucing, no? LOL

So anyway this is a very pretty colorful fabric from Cirebon (West Java). It has a very distinctive pattern with bright pastel colors such as pink, purple, green, and orange, all in one fabric. I figured this must look cute in a dress so I plan to make this fabric into a dress! Well of course I won't be the one making it because you know I don't have any seamstress skill whatsoever ;P but I will take this to my tailor and have her turn this pretty fabric into a dress (Note: tailor services are mostly affordable here in Indonesia so it is very common to buy fabrics and then go to the tailor to make custom-made clothes).

Marks & Spencer Moisture Rich Hand Wash in China Blue

I was surprised to see the price of Marks & Spencer's body care range when I browse through their store one afternoon at Grand Indonesia, I thought they were expensive like more than IDR 100.000 each. But it turns out that their price are actually mostly under IDR 100.000 ! Since I didn't bring much cash left because I already spent it for my lunch and taxi that day, so I only bought this hand wash (IDR 59000), thinking of putting it in our basin in the future bathroom so our guests can use it. I chose the "China Blue" because we plan our future bathroom to have a blue theme, and because this one has a great scent and not too "florals" which hubby K would think too girly ;P

Pantene Pro V Intensive Treatment Total Care

I am now using this as a hair conditioner, the previous conditioner I used is the Sunsilk Hair Conditioner for Black hair, but I thought it didn't give any special results for my hair so right now I am in a phase where I tried every hair conditioner that I find interesting ;P

As I told you in my October's hauls I have been in "Payless crazy" mode lately ;) I'm so glad we now have Payless and I have been there twice in my first month, and by the end of the month I already have 3 footwear and 1 sunglasses from Payless. Oh Payless how I love thee...

Floral Chiffon Maxi Dress

A very pretty Korean Maxi Dress which I got for only around $7 :)

It has an empire waist line with smocked stitching in the chest area which I think is great for petites like me. It's chiffon and has a lining underneath, the color is white with green florals theme. I wore it to the Jakarta Fashion Week back in November.

A floral hair fastener and a sparkly bow hair clip.

These two items are also from my eBay purchases this month. These two are from different eBay sellers, I just received them at around the same time.

This floral hair clip / fastener was really cheap and that's why I bought it. It has many color options but the seller didn't let us choose the color so they send it in random colors. Well at first I thought it's kinda exciting because of the "surprise" factor, you dont know what color would you get. I was actually hoping to get the pale pink one but then I got this yellow one in my package. I'm not sure whether I would wear this because it's just a little bit too bold for my taste. I mean, it already has a jumbo size, PLUS it's yellow! So I don't know, maybe I just wear it to special occasions like wedding parties and such...but I'm still not sure..

While the floral hair clip above has jumbo size, this sparkly diamante bow knot hair clip is cutely small. I love how it gives a little something special especially on black hair like mine. I can wear this for everyday look or for special occasions, but it couldn't hold too much hair though so I only use it for small sections around my bangs or side swept area.

Another earring display!

I bought a new earring display again from eBay. Ha! If you read my October's "New Things in My Wardrobe" post yesterday I featured an earring display that I bought from eBay for a relatively cheap price. But it wasn't enough to hold all of my earrings collection so I need another display. And so I went to browse some other cheap earrings display on eBay and found another one slightly cheaper.
I chose this one because it's cheaper and smaller but unlike the previous one that has big hollow parts in-between the holes line that makes my smaller dangly earrings kept falling into the hollow part and makes it hard to reach, this one has no hollow part at all. This one is just a solid little plastic display, so I can put my smaller dangly earrings on this one and put my studs and longer earrings on the other one. See below for size comparison:

New Things in My Wardrobe (OCTOBER)

First of all, sorry for not posting this sooner! I had a very bad blogging schedule and I admit I was lacking a little bit so I didn't get through all my scheduling. So for those of you who are new to this blog, I have a regular monthly post called "New Things in My Wardrobe", which is basically all the new things that I got during that month including purchases and freebies. So my last "New Things in My Wardrobe" post was about my September hauls and that means I am currently 2 months behind (yikes!!).

But I still got my list and I was thinking of merging this October freebies/purchases post with my November post but since there are quite a few items in both months so I decided to split them up to avoid a very long blog post ;)

Okay, so today I'll be posting about my October freebies & purchases, and tomorrow I'll be putting up the November ones ;p

My cousin gave me these pretty clothes because she just doesn't wear them anymore. We basically have the same petite figure, I think our measurements only differ a bit. When she send me pictures of these items via whatsapp and asked me whether or not I want them, being a freebie lover myself I immediately say Yes! ;)

The first pic is a creme tunic with embroidery detail on chest and white trim edges. The 2nd pic is a pink / fuchsia striped dress that can be worn as a tube dress or a halter neck. The 3rd pic is a purple/pink geometric print halter neck silk blouse.

Etude House Sweetheart Creamy Body Mist

I went home one day and found this Etude Body Mist in our family room table. I asked my mom if it was hers but then she said that my brother just gave it to her but she still has the other body mist that my brother (also) gave her a month ago, so she offered it to me instead. I love any kind of body mist or body spray! And the bottle is so cute (Etude always has cute packaging), and the scent is sweet enough for me although it is not like my usual body mist / body spray which have liquid or water substance, this one is a creamy body mist (review coming up!).

I was so ecstatic when I found out that Payless has opened it's stores in Jakarta! I found it accidentally when I was in Central Park Mall. I officially went crazy when I went through it's door! There is no shoe store here that has a genius store layout like Payless. Everything are laid out in racks by sizes! So all you have to do is find the rack with your shoe size and start trying shoes on! So there's no need to ask the store staff whether or not they have your size, ha! So anyway I went there with my husband's family and after I decided on these silver flats my MIL suddenly grab the shoes from me and went straight to the cashier to pay it before I get to say anything. So it was free! :) Thanks Mom in Law!-- As for the sunglasses I bought it myself just minutes before we left the store.

When uploading this pic I suddenly remember that this eyelash curler came with an extra eyelash cushion (the one in plastic above), and I put the extra cushion inside the box. But then I just remembered that I threw the box away when I was cleaning my drawers a few weeks after I bought this! Argh!! I'm so stupid. Now I don't have extra eyelash cushion for this curler!! stupid. stupid. stupid. -__-

Lingerie Wash Bag

I have been looking for this kind of lingerie wash bag that I can use to wash all my delicates in my washing machine. With this mesh bag I hope all my bras would have longer wear time and won't be ruined easily like before. And with this simple mesh bag I can also wash my delicate underwear in my washing machine, and it has been making my daily routine much more easier now because I don't have to wash them by hands anymore ;)

Earrings Display

Been looking for a display / storage for my earrings, there's not much option in the local stores here, and usually the good ones are a bit pricey. So I'm glad I found this one on eBay in such cheap price. But this is a small display so I might need a few more displays to hold the bigger earrings and the rest of my earrings ;p

Turquoise Ring from Hongkong seller

I am always in love with turquoise color, and turquoise jewelries are the best! Love love love this ring. Although when this ring first came to my house I opened the package and the ring just broke before I even put it on my finger, so I message the seller and they kindly sent me a new one!

Pfiuh, so there it goes...

Check out this beauties!!

I just spotted these dainty little beauties at Wayfair website. This is from Kathy Ireland Home by Franz Collection. Aren't they such a feast in the eye? I couldn't take my eyes off them because they are so ethereal, full of fantasy, pretty beyond beauty, and highly fascinating at the same time. I feel happy just by looking at them. Am I the only one who does this? I just can't help it, pretty things makes me happy ;)

They look like they came from the land of the fairies, am I right? ^o^

I've been a fan of Kathy Ireland for a few years, admiring her creations which mostly geared into the feminine style. But this collection of Decorative Plates really blew my mind. I guess I'm a romantic at heart, and one of my weaknesses is beautiful decorative items like these plates. I wouldn't care if I can't use it to eat something because it's just too damn precious, just having them in my kitchen / dining cabinet is enough to make me feel eternally happy ^__^

How To: Pair Maxi with Cropped

Haven't been posting about style outfit for quite some time and thought that I should post this today. Feeling a little bit Cinderella-ish with this super twirly skirt and lace cropped cardigan. The skirt is custom made for one of my cousin's wedding more than 10 years ago (I think..).
I surprised that this skirt still retain it's beauty, there's nothing wrong with the material or the shape, nothing's changed except for my waistline size (whoopss!).

Anyway I love how feminine this skirt makes me feel. It's floral with rich colors, the shape is very lovely and it enables you to twirl around and around and around almost like a flamenco skirt. And I'm quite happy that this skirt still fit me just fine (although a little bit snuggier) after all these years ^o^

So pairing a maxi skirt with a cropped top is one of the trick to balance your overall look especially if you're small or petite. The formula of balancing a maxi with a mini is a classic trick, and I do it all the time. As well as pairing a baggy or roomy bottom with a fitted top or vice versa. Just think "opposites" ^o^

If I'm pairing a maxi skirt with cropped top then I would choose for a high-waisted skirt because it would look best for petites, and I would also try not to pair maxi with long sleeve top to avoid the "you-look-like-you're-drowning-in-your-outfit" look. That's why I rolled my sleeves a bit in this outfit. Oh but unless the top is really slinky or fitted to your body then I think it's okay to wear long sleeves with maxi.

Artistry Lip Shine in Bloom (010) - an almost nude color

I love how the mascara turned out! For this look I lined my upper eyelid, and then curl my eyelashes first, and then put on the first layer of mascara, concentrating in the based of my eyelashes to get that thick look. And then I put second layer of mascara, this time concentrating in lengthening the tip of the eyelashes by swiping it upward with a light but firm stroke. And then I put another layer as the final layer to define and separate the lashes. Followed by another curl with the eyelash curler.

And then I do the bottom eyelashes in just a light one-by-one stroke because I don't really have that much eyelashes there below my eyes. But I heard Vaseline can help you grow your lashes so maybe I'd try this trick on my bottom eyelashes. I'll let you know if it works ;p

About a week ago on Sept 25, I went to "Edgy Summer Style" fashion show at Amarone restaurant in Grand Kemang Hotel. The fashion show presented "edgy style" clothing from a handful of young emerging Indonesian designers and local brands such as Hailie, Ginevra, Michelle Martin, Pink, Manekineko, K.O.G, Picnic, Enny Jeans, and Parka.

Again, I'm sorry for the bad quality pictures I took with my phone. It was dark inside so I couldn't get any good pictures with such bad lighting. But here are a few of them to give you some views of the fashion show that night:

The collections all showed a very urban city chic looks with various clothing item from sexy bodycon dresses with strategic cutting details, jacket in dark colors and edgy accessories such as studs, brasswares and zippers; skinny jeans with awesome boots and bold high heels, and colorful tops in bold asymmetrical design. There were also Mens collection with edgy and bold details, and a few of children wear with the same cute bold and edgy details to it.

Indonesian young designers and brands are starting to emerge into the local fashion scene by creating ready-to-wear clothing that are supposedly easy to mix n match. The quality of the fabrics they used are also usually very beautiful and comfortable to wear, hence the slightly higher price. But overall I think their designs can compete with other international brands. So anyway, here are some other photos from the Amarone restaurant where this event took place.

The dress code was "Edgy", but because my personal style is far from edgy so I actually didn't have anything truly edgy to wear to the event ;p But when I browse my wardrobe I thought this ankle booties from The Little Things She Needs is quite edgy so I build my outfit from there. Is this look edgy enough? LOL

Do you have a color combo formula for your outfit?

Well, I do! :) I have a few favorite color combination when it comes to choosing my daily outfit. This color combo formula is pretty useful when I'm out of idea on what to wear. All I need to do is just grab a few clothing items in one of my favorite color combo and try to mix n match them together.

Aside from my number one color combo formula of black and red, I also love to pair black with pink.

Black with pink is just so cute and adorable together, if you do it right you will get elegant look with a little bit of girly touch to it. Feminine and fun!

In and Around JFW 2011/2012

To close my JFW 2011/2012 series, here are some details from inside and around the Jakarta Fashion Week venue:

The main shows on Jakarta Fashion Week took place in the tent; and inside the tent there is also a lobby / lounge area with seats, designers showcase, F&B bar area, designer's booths, and a corner to watch the JFW live streaming shows.

This year, JFW release a QR code system as another option to printed tickets. This QR code will be sent to you to your email after you signed up online for each show's ticket, and then all you have to do is save the QR code to your device / smartphones and just show it to the JFW crew at the door who will then scan it with their own device.

I think JFW'11 idea to use these QR Code system in order to reduce the use of paper is a great idea, this effective and earth-friendly way of digital ticket should be continued for next year :)

And of course, some free stuffs that I got from JFW'12 to satisfy the "little freebie hunter" in me ;P hohoho :

The ISIS tote bag and JFW pin is from the ISIS fashion show, and the Mango tote bag is also from it's fashion show. The Sarinah notebook is a souvenir from their own show too, but this notebook is quite unique:

This notebook is thick and have a pretty Loro Blonyo statuettes picture on the front, and on the first pages there's a brief history on Sarinah Department store which is the first modern store ever built in Indonesia (built by Indonesia's first president: Ir.Soekarno). Did you know that President Soekarno got the name "Sarinah" from his childhood nanny's name: Mbok Sarinah. Yeah, I just knew that from reading the excerpt on the free notebook above. Quite interesting story ;)

I got the Kerastase samples from their stand right near the tent's exit door, and I got the L'oreal Hair Spa Hair Mask and Scalp Lotion from filling a short survey >> a nice woman stopped me and asked if I have a little time to answer some short survey questions. They seem to have a little survey every year at the JFW. Last year I only received a salon voucher for doing the same short survey, but this year the choice was either a voucher for Waterbom (a water park in north Jakarta) or these L'oreal Hair Spa package. And of course I picked L'oreal ! :D

Jakarta Fashion Week 2012 : MANGO

Continuing with my JFW 2012 series, on my second day I watched Sarinah and followed by Mango show. Unlike Sarinah show which was held inside the JFW tent, Mango show was held at the Promenade in the center of the mall. Mango actually has two shows in this year's JFW and my invitation is valid for both shows, but unfortunately I was not feeling well on their first show so I canceled.
The two shows was each styled by different stylists, the first show was featuring Jeanette Anandajoo, an International fashion magazine fashion stylist. I watched the 2nd show which was styled by fellow fashion blogger Heidy Kalalo of Fashion-Maverick. Here are some pictures from the show, taken with my iPhone (sorry for the not-so-great quality of the pics):

I love what Heidy Kalalo did! Love her styling, very casual chic and easy to wear. The show was dominated with neutral basic colors such as black, grey, and creme. I love all the fabric details, from lace, sequins, knitwear, tweed. Lots of glitters and sequins in the slinky dresses and clutches (love the gold sequined clutch!). I also love the tweed blazer, and the lace detailing on some of the clothes. The creme knit sweater is also very cute and it looks great paired with legging and matching bag just like Heidy styled. And last but not least, I love the shoes collection! ^__^ Great job, Heidy!

And that ends my short JFW'12 trip this year ;p I told you I didn't go to many shows this year due to ticket availability, and I also had to cancel 3 shows because of me not being well that day. Oh well, maybe next year better! :)

Meanwhile here's what I wore to my second day of JFW'12:

I bought this maxi dress from eBay and this is my first time wearing it. I love the dress although the bottom is straight and do not have that A-line shape, so it's a bit hard to walk in a hurry with this dress. I have to pull the hem up a little and hold it in my hand while stepping in and out of the escalator to avoid tripping over. But hubby loves it though :)

Jakarta Fashion Week 2012 : SARINAH

My 3rd show on JFW this year is the Sarinah show. Sarinah is one of the oldest department store in Jakarta, now they are specializing in ethnic and traditional / local culture retail items. Everybody knows that if they want to go find something uniquely Indonesian such as Batik (fabric, clothes, accessories, etc), kain tenun, silversmiths / kerajinan perak, etc they will go to Sarinah.

On this year's show Sarinah presents 4 brands that are just a few among other brands that you can find on their dept store. Each of these 4 brands represent different styles and specialties. One represent women moslem attire, the other one represent batik, and the other two represent traditional Indonesian motifs and patterns - all four of them express various styles that you can find in Sarinah dept store. I tried to capture their catwalk shows but just like yesterday, I failed. Look at these sad blurry pictures...

Too bad I couldn't grab the beautiful detail of the fabric, in reality the fabric of the clothes have really pretty pattern rich in colors. But no worries... here are the more pretty pictures that i grabbed from JFW website. The 4 brands that are participating in the Sarinah show are (with no particular order):

Galeri Batik Jawa

Galeri Batik Jawa shows up their batik collection in the prettiest shade of blue and other soft pastel colors. I love the color and the pattern of the Batik. I also love the elegant styling and classic silhouettes of the clothes shown. Gorgeous pretty blue batik indeed. Love it!

Jakarta Fashion Week 2011 : SHAFIRA & ISIS

I finally had the time to write about my 2011 Jakarta Fashion Week which took place last week from November 12 - 18th.

Setelah tahun kemarin seminggu full sibuk ngeliput Jakarta Fashion Week 2010 sampe gempor (tapi akhirnya terbayar dengan menang juara II blog competition nya Femina ^__^), maka tahun ini saya duduk manis saja di kursi penonton. Dan berhubung lokasi rumah ke Pacific Place tempat diadakannya JFW itu jauuuh, jadi tahun ini karena nggak ada keharusan ngeliput maka saya cuma datang ke JFW dua hari saja hehe Sebenernya rencana awalnya tuh tiga hari, cuma saya sempat nggak enak badan so terpaksa harus cancel satu hari deh :(

Tahun ini saya total hanya nonton 4 show sajah (harusnya 7 show tapi yang 3 di cancel karena nggak fit). Sayangnya banyak show yang saya mau tonton tapi nggak kebagian tiketnya karena keburu habis (yang namanya tiket JFW emang berebutan banget deh).

Anyway, show pertama yang saya tonton tahun ini adalah show busana muslim Shafira.

Berhubung tahun ini saya duduk di kursi penonton, jadi masuknya musti ikutan ngantri dulu (tahun kemarin saya dapet kartu All-Pass jadi bisa bebas keluar masuk ;p). Nah sebalnya duduk di kursi penonton itu: nggak boleh motret pake kamera dslr atau kamera besar. Huhuhu...sementara kamera poket saya itu jadul dan bapuk banget, dan yang namanya kamera poket kan terbatas banget ya kemampuannya.. walhasil foto yang saya ambil hampir 90% blur semua kaya gini nih:

Huhuu...dan karena di dalam tenda show itu (walaupun undangan nya gratis dan bisa dipesan online) tapi nggak bisa pilih tempat duduk. Sialnya saya selalu dapat tempat duduk yang lightingnya jelek, jadi maafkan yah kalo gambarnya banyak yang blur dan gak sempurna ^o^

Untuk show busana muslim Shafira kali ini banyak mengusung desain-desain bersiluet etnik dengan warna-warna terang yang berkesan cerah. Bahan kain yang digunakan itu entah apa tapi kelihatan banget nyaman dipakai dan jatuhnya bagus banget di badan, kayanya adem banget dan pas banget sama iklim tropis Indonesia.

Pilihan warna warna bahan nya juga terang dan atraktif, cocok dipakai buat yang berjiwa muda. Banyak gaya tumpuk lapis yang diterapkan. Celana satin, coat ringan panjang, jaket luaran tipis, dan motif bernuansa etnik dalam warna-warna yang rich mendominasi show Shafira kali ini.

Show kedua yang saya tonton adalah ISIS by Andrea Risjad & Amot Syamsuri Muda. Andrea Risjad ini adalah sosialite sekaligus style icon, namanya mungkin tidak asing lagi di kalangan fashionista ibukota. Dengan menggandeng designer dan stylist Amot Syamsuri Muda, mereka berdua mengembangkan label ISIS yang memulai debut nya pada bulan Maret tahun ini di Blueprint International fashion trade show di Singapore. Untuk debutnya di Jakarta Fashion Week kali ini menampilkan koleksi terbaru mereka: "Born Free".

Lagi-lagi saya dapat tempat duduk dengan bad lighting dan parahnya para model kali ini berjalan dengan cepat mengikuti hentakan irama musik yang kencang, jadinya yah... blur lagi deh :

Koleksi "Born Free" ini terinspirasi dari sisi rebellious nya industri fashion itu sendiri. Dengan warna-warna gelap seperti hitam dan abu-abu ISIS mencoba menampilkan gaya pemberontak sekaligus jiwa muda yang bebas. Dari inspirasi gaya biker chick, band groupie, street style dan lain lain, ISIS ingin membuktikan bahwa "fashion is about freedom". Yang tadinya "anti-fashion" sekarang juga bisa gaya dengan style nya sendiri, kurang lebih begitu deh interpretasi saya ^o^

Yang bikin surprise adalah beberapa artis seperti Marcell, Ferdi Hassan, Aida Nurmala, bahkan Tommy Tjokro pembawa berita Metro TV pun ikut jalan di catwalk memperagakan busana ISIS. Dan puncak surprise nya adalah ketika Andy RIF keluar dan menyanyi live di panggung catwalk mengiringi model-model yang lalu lalang. Andy RIF itu memang penampilan live nya selalu oke ya, jadi inget jaman kuliah dulu di Bandung kerjanya nonton RIF manggung mulu hehehe (loh, kok jadi nostalgia) ;p

So anyway, itu sekelumit cerita dari panggung JFW tahun ini, besok saya akan upload show lainnya yang saya tonton ya. Meanwhile, here's what I wore to my JFW day 1 :

Review: Beauty Express Brow Kit from Anastasia of Beverly Hills

If you remember, back on August I put up a teaser post about a product from Anastasia of Beverly Hills (see the post here). I received the product about a month later and now I finally get to put up the review!

It is actually a privilege for me to be able to try one of Anastasia of Beverly Hills product because back in Hollywood, who wouldn't know Anastasia? She is a brow expert that has shaped the brows of the Hollywood's elites such as Madonna, J-Lo, Selena Gomez, Oprah, etc! She is the brow master of the elites! And I can't believe I have one of her product in my hand now.

What I received for review purposes is the Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes Kit.

You see, I'm clueless about how to shape my eyebrows properly or what shape really suits my face. Well I did have my eyebrows shaped by professionals twice; first was by my make-up artist when I got married, and secondly by another make-up artist when my sister in law got married. But they only lasts for a couple of months, once they grew longer there's nothing I could do to re-create the shape.

I've tried shaping them by plucking them with tweezers but I just couldn't get the right shape, it would only turns out bad!

In one attempt to shape my eyebrows with a tweezer, my left eyebrow is overly thin and un-defined while my right eyebrow has a very weird angle to it, so both eyebrows look different one another, it was a disaster hahaha..

So anyway, I love this special brow kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills that can really help girls like me.

It's like "brow kit for dummies" ^o^

There are two different color variant available for this kit: one for Brunette, and one for Blonde. Of course I got the Brunette one because I have dark color hair.

Inside the Beauty Express brow Kit, there are:

- a brown wax cream,
- a brow powder duo,
- an eyeshadow duo,
- five different stencils,
- an angled brush,
- and instruction card from Anastasia.

The kit itself has a very practical compact case in dark fuchsia color (in a snakeskin-like pattern) that makes it easy to carry on your travel bag. It has a magnetic closure and inside you will find detailed instruction on how to use the kit.

The top part has three different pots. The left one is the brow wax which will help your brow powder adhere, to set brows and keep them in place all day. This wax is sheer and wouldn't show any trace when used. It does not feel oily or leave residue at all.

The middle pot is the brow powder duo. It has two different colors: a lighter shade and a darker shade of brown. You can choose which color that match your brow's natural color, or you can mix both.

The right pot is the eyeshadow duo. It comes in two types: matte and shimmer. This gives you option to put on what you like best. You can also put this one on your brow bone or just below your brow's arch as a highlighter.

Below the three pots you can find an angled brush and some stencils to help you get your ideal brow shape. There are five different type of stencils which you can choose according to your ideal preference or desire. In her instructional video, Anastasia said that "one of the stencils would be perfect for you or for your client".

My choice of the stencil is the Petite Arch, because I have a small face and the petite arch has the shortest brow shape out of all five stencils, and after trying it on my face it turns out really nice! I now finally found my arch ^o^

After using it for several weeks, I found that this brow kit is really easy to use, even for beginners like me. It helps me find my perfect eyebrow shape, and it helps me define my face because I really see much difference in my face (eye area) when I compare my old photo with my newer ones. The colors are also perfect and would match a wide range of skin color. The brow powder is very loose and soft and sheer so your eyebrow would look natural instead of fake. I also love that there are instructions included, and you can also go to Anastasia's website for reference. And the angled brush has the perfect length so it's really easy and so comfortable to use. The brush tip is not flimsy at all, it has soft surface so it enables a steady and smooth application.

The kit has some kind of a magnifying mirror inside it so it enables you to look closely in the mirror when you put on your brow powder, but I personally prefer to use my regular little mirror instead.

My Take: Overall, I love the result it gave me, I love the practicality of the kit, I love the accessible way of using it (beginner friendly), and I also love the quality of the sturdy case and the quality of the powders and wax. I also love how this kit gave a natural look to my eyebrows and how it really help me find the perfect eyebrow shape. A perfectly nice eyebrows would really opens up the face and give more definition to your eye area. And that's exactly happened to me - and I love it! :)

Fimela.com berusia satu tahun November 2011 ini (HAPY BIRTHDAY FIMELA.COM!). Dan pada bulan Agustus kemarin walaupun belum genap setahun tapi Fimela telah berhasil memenangkan penghargaan BUBU Award untuk kategori News & Lifestyle Portal. Bubu Award itu penghargaan bergengsi lohh. Menang Bubu Award itu seperti menang Oscar untuk website hehe ^o^

Anyway, untuk perayaan ulang tahun nya yang pertama ini Fimela.com akan menggelar yang namanya FIMELAFest tanggal 25 - 27 November nanti (Catet tanggalnya). Acara nya akan diselenggarakan di Grand Indonesia, tepatnya di Level One, East Mall. Seru banget menyimak talk show dari perempuan-perempuan panutan ini, sayangnya waktu itu batre handphone udah sekarat jadinya nggak bisa banyak live tweet deh huhu Tapi yang pasti, banyak banget yang bisa diambil dari talk show kali ini yang membahas berbagai hal terkait kemajuan wanita, mulai dari masalah ketimpangan gender yang masih banyak terjadi di Indonesia terutama di daerah, sampai fakta meningkatnya banyak kaum perempuan yang mandiri secara finansial yang membuktikan adanya perubahan lifestyle perempuan pada umumnya.

Selain membahas tentang keberdayaan dan kemajuan gaya hidup perempuan Indonesia masa kini, para narasumber juga membahas tentang kampanye Read2Share, yaitu kampanye giat membaca yang diprakarsai oleh fimela.com.

Katy Perry's 20s Hair Style

Do you always get that feeling when you have a big event or a big formal party coming up and you have your outfit ready, you already knew what shoes and jewelries you will be wearing, and you already have some ideas on the makeup, but have no clue at all when it comes to hair style?
Well, guess what? That happened to me, a lot.

Most of the time I got no clue on what should I do with my hair. I got everything ready except for the hair style. I just don't know how to style my own hair. So sometimes I need to go to a hair salon to fix my hair before a big party / event. But although I have minor skills when it comes to hair styling, I always have major dreams on various hair styles that I would like to try someday.

From the big wavy hair a la Farrah Fawcett circa Charlie's Angels, to short blunt cut a la Twiggy, or a sleek polished straight hair a la Naomi Campbell . I would also love to try some fun hair styles from the old era: maybe from the 50s or the 40s, or maybe a hair style that resembles something from the 20s like this one Katy Perry wore on below photo:

Love the style, the makeup, the hair (!), the background, the pose, everything about the photo is just fabulous. She really looks like a lady from the 20s era.

I love her hair style. It's gorgeous, a little bit seducing but yet it's so elegant and very classy. It turns out that Katy Perry is the brand ambassador for GHD. No wonder her hair styling is always gorgeous, and her hair is always so shiny and perfectly styled, because ghd itself is a BIG name in the hair styling world.

GHD's iconic stylers as well as new product line and professional hair brushes continue to be a cult must-have for women who want some cutting edge of creativity and style. I mean, every woman literally needs a good hair dryer or hair styler at her home. Maybe you can look for promos or ghd sale on their website. One of the most sought-after local shop is Retail Therapy. And this October they launch their newest collection "The Demons's Grip". Don't you love the title? ;p

Just like the title, this new collection really depicts the darkness inside mind. They say, "..inside every little girl's mind there's always a box of wonderland unconsciously overcast, covered by giant grey cloud trying to drag her over...."

The collection (as always) has many great designs; most of them are truly unique, very urban, modern, and trend-inspired. There are some cute capes, peter pan collars and slouchy sweaters which are a big trend this season. Le Kawoeng Batik collection from ROXY

And as I promised, here is the other item from the newest Roxy Batik collection which I received a couple of weeks ago.

The cute Batik skirt from the Le Kawoeng collection! I love love love this skirt. I love the color (very cute purple and pink!), I love how the material felt against my skin (it's breezy for summer and perfect for the beach), and I love the Batik pattern on it. Gorgeous pattern!

The pattern is called "Kawung". It is one of the traditional / classic Batik pattern/motif. Kawung itself is a kind of palm tree that has eclipse-shaped fruit named "kolang-kaling". As I explained before in my previous post, Kawung has a deep spiritual meaning. You can also find more details about it in the tag that came with every item you bought from Roxy Batik collection.

As you might have read in my previous post, I received two items from the Roxy Batik collection: this skirt + a Batik-embellished slouchy tee. You can see how I styled the skirt together with the slouchy tee here, and how I styled the slouchy tee in another way in my last post here. Meanwhile here is how I wore the skirt in another way:

My color of the month has been purple lately, so I was very happy when I open the Roxy package and found this skirt inside it! I also just bought a bag from an online garage sale. It has the Mulberry bag silhouette, and it's purple! So being the miss ~~matchy-matchy~~ color-coordinated I wanted to match the purple/brown on the bag with my outfit, so I opted to wear this purple skirt with my simple brown top. I also want to match the gold hardware on the bag with other gold accessories hence the gold colored stacked bracelet and sandals. The necklace is the closest I have in purple so I wore it to accentuate the much-too-simple top ;)

And I cut my hair off today! By myself! Ha. I used a guiding tool called CreaClip which I received for review purposes (you can read the review on my other blog, Tigerlily's Book). This tool is really useful for cutting hair. It can help you trim, layer, and shorten your hair without having to go to the hair salon anymore. Well, I didn't have time to blow-dry my hair so you can't see the final result, but from above photo you can see that the layers are there, right? And most importantly, my bangs are finally refreshed! ^o^

Continuing my post about the Batik collection that Roxy - Quiksilver sent me, I put on a post yesterday wearing both the slouchy tee and skirt together in one outfit. Today I want to put a post to show you how versatile it is.
I wore the slouchy tee again a couple of days later to hang out with my cousins. It is such a very comfortable top with loose fitting and breezy fabric plus cool design, I love wearing it and I'm sure it's gonna be another staple in my wardrobe.

Here I'm wearing it in a casual mode with denim skirt and gladi sandals. I wore it tucked-in this time, you can also see how I wore it un-tucked on yesterday's post. I also love the length of this slouchy tee because you can also easily wear it as a tunic over your legging / jegging or as a beach / bikini cover up.

The top above is a size 4 (the smallest size on Roxy), and I think it falls quite nicely on the petites.

It is not too big or too over-sized, instead it gives you the cool "slouchy" look.

The length is just right, it's not "overly long" so it won't look drowning on shorter legs if worn un-tucked.

Review: ROXY New Batik Collection

Roxy and Quiksilver have been releasing unique Batik collections since last year. I remember I did a review of their first Batik collection last year (an asymmetrical tunic and a pretty pink blouse) which were very gorgeous and really unique!! And just a couple of weeks ago ROXY sent me another package filled with a couple of items from their newest ROXY Batik collection.

Here's what I received :

On September 26th 2011, Quiksilver and Roxy releases authentic surf batik collection in honor of Indonesia's National Batik day which falls on October 2nd. I would like to give a thumbs up for Quiksilver and Roxy who successfully adapted the centuries-old cloth making tradition into a fashionable and comfortable modern everyday apparel.

Batik is one of Indonesia's traditional cloth, there's a certain way of making a Batik. There are also many type of Batik patterns/motifs and most of them are traditional patterns that are distinctive to certain areas where the Batik were originally produced.

From all of the many varieties of Batik pattern, Roxy adapted some of them into their newest Batik collection which are:

Eklektik

and

Le Kawoeng.

The Eklektik has a Polynesian-inspired motifs such as animals and plants, while Le Kawoeng has a motif influenced by the Kawung palm tree (the locals call it "pohon buah Kolang-Kaling"). The Kawung tree itself has a deep spiritual meaning.

I received a super comfy slouchy tee from the Eklektik collection + a cute skirt from the Le Kawoeng collection:

The Eklektik collection is basically similar with classic Batik, but the designs and colors varies following today's trend. Meanwhile the Le Kawoeng is influenced by one of the traditional classic Batik pattern.

Both designs are cute and very modern, I love how Roxy incorporate Batik patterns into such a very comfortable casual everyday wear like these. So now you can wear Batik as daily wear!

First thing I noticed was the fabric. The fabric is so soft and really really comfortable to wear. It allows your skin to breathe and it falls perfectly great on the body, just as expected from a brand as big as Roxy.

Today I would like to highlight the slouchy tee from the Eklektik collection:

I love how the slouchy tee has a very casual look with just a little bit of Batik pattern on the neckline and on the chest pocket (a tee with pocket, how cute is that?!). Love the green and purple combination, and love the eclectic pattern too! Here I paired it with an old green necklace and a purple bangle/hair fastener to accentuate the color combination of the Batik pattern.

I kinda like the knotted style at the front because it gives a little something more special than just a casual white tee. It is also very versatile because you can wear it tucked inside your skirt/jeans, or just wear it un-tucked. You can also hide the knot by folding it up inside or let the knot hang out there to get that casual beach girl wear. This tee has a v-neck style and is perfect for a beach / bikini cover-up too.

I also love the Roxy sign on the back of the tee because you wouldn't expect to see anything back there, right? It only just add the cool vibe to it ;)

I love how breezy it makes me feel (especially in a hot day), so I already wore it twice! ;) I'll put up another post with another outfit combination tomorrow to show you how versatile this tee is.

Review: Caring Colors Everlast BB Cream + Bedak + Lipstick

Melanjutkan review tentang BB Cream yang saya tulis beberapa hari lalu antara BB Cream Maybelline dan BB Cream Missha (merk Korea yang saya beli di ebay), hari ini saya juga ingin menambahkan review satu merk BB Cream lain yang beredar di Indonesia, yaitu BB Cream keluaran Caring Colors.

Di Indonesia setahu saya BB Cream yang resmi beredar disini baru ada dua merk. Satu dari merk International (Maybelline), dan satu lagi dari merk lokal ternama yaitu Caring Colors dari Martha Tilaar group ini.

Kebetulan BB Cream Caring Colors ini belum dijual bebas, saya mendapatkannya dengan membeli paket "Ready, Steady. Go!" yang terdiri dari bedak + lipstik + BB Cream. Saya lupa harganya, kalau nggak salah sekitar IDR 60.000 - 70.000 deh, terjangkau banget karena kita dapat tiga produk dengan harga segitu. Trus display paket nya juga lucu banget, pink! ^o^

Paket Ready, Steady, Go ini isinya: Everlast BB Cream, Everlast Dual Action Cake, dan Moisturize Rich Lip Colour. Paket di atas tidak tersedia di semua counter karena nampaknya paketnya semacam limited edition gitu deh. Pertama kali saya lihat di blog nya Hanna Anindhita, trus nyari di counter di Carrefour nggak ada, nyari di website Martha Tilaar juga nggak ada, akhirnya daku email CS nya dan salut sama customer service nya yang cepat tanggap, saya diberitahu bahwa paket yang saya maksud bisa didapatkan di Martha Tilaar shop di Grand Indonesia.

Dan kebetulan waktu itu ada fashion show Guess di Grand Indonesia, sekalian aja saya mampir ke Martha Tilaar shop dan disana... di rak paling atas lah saya menemukan si kotak pink ini ^o^

Dari semua merk BB Cream yang pernah saya coba (Maybelline, Missha dan Caring Colors ini), favorit saya ternyata BB Cream merk lokal alias buatan negeri sendiri. Yup, BB Cream dari Caring Colors adalah juaranya! Ini berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi loh, dengan kondisi kulit muka saya sebagai berikut:

- kombinasi dry/oily >> cenderung cepat berminyak di bawah sinar matahari.

- warna kulit tidak merata, banyak sun spots, dan komedo / lemak / jerawat2 mini di sekitar kening dan samping hidung.

- warna kulit tan / sawo matang.

Saya mencoba BB Cream Caring Colors yang seri Everlast, dan setelah beberapa kali pemakaian, sepertinya ini deh BB Cream yang paling tepat untuk saya. Diantara tiga BB Cream yang saya sudah coba, si Caring Colors ini teksturnya terasa paling cocok di kulit saya. Mungkin karena Caring Colors kan merk lokal dan keluaran Martha Tilaar group pula, jadi pastinya dibuat dengan formula khusus yang memang spesial diperuntukkan untuk kulit wajah wanita Indonesia (tapi ada kemungkinan saya sotoy lho ;p).

Foto pertama menunjukan tekstur BB Cream yang ringan, tidak pekat dan mudah meresap. Pada foto kedua dapat dilihat bahwa BB Cream akam meresap dan membaur sempurna dengan warna kulit sehingga keseluruhan tampilan nampak natural dan menutup hampir semua noda.

Mudah diaplikasikan dan mudah menyerap dengan hasil akhir wajah yang flawless ditambah teksturnya yang ringan, nggak berat, tapi hasil nya bagus dan merata. Kontrol minyak nya pun lebih bagus dibanding merk lain sehingga bedak pun menempel lebih lama. Dan yang paling penting adalah wajah menjadi terlihat lebih cerah dan bercahaya! Nggak ada lagi bayangan gelap di sudut wajah, dan yang penting buat saya: setiap difoto wajah saya terlihat lebih cerah, nggak kusam lagi ! >> hahaha penting ini bok secara eyke narsis suka foto2 ;p

Caring Colors sebenarnya mempunyai tiga varian BB Cream yaitu: Everlast, Fair White, dan Luminizing.
Fair White mengandung whitening extract,
Luminizing mengandung reflecting dan anti-aging formula,
Everlast mengandung long-lasting formula.

Sesuai saran dari sales assistant di Martha Tilaar shop yang saya kunjungi di Grand Indonesia, saya memilih Everlast karena kulit wajah saya cenderung berminyak dan saya mempunyai masalah dengan bedak yang tidak tahan lama di wajah karena wajah saya cepat berkeringat. Dan memang ternyata Everlast adalah pilihan yang paling tepat buat saya.

Nah sekarang mari membahas tentang bedaknya. Bedak yang saya dapat dari paket adalah compact powder Everlast Dual Action Cake. Kalau dari penjelasan di kemasan: "Paduan foundation dan bedak yang tahan lama dengan formula khusus yang dapat menyerap minyak dan keringat sehingga wajah tampak segar dan tidak mengkilap".

Kemasannya bagus, nggak murahan, bentuknya panjang tapi slim dan nggak bulky jadi cukup ringkas untuk ditaruh di tas make up yang dibawa sehari-hari. Di kemasan tertulis untuk dipakai dengan spons kering walaupun tidak ada larangan untuk pakai spons lembab. Saya suka bedak nya karena teksturnya ringan tapi coverage nya lumayan bagus. Dual cake ini juga mengandung vitamin A (melembabkan kulit), vitamin E (anti-oxidant), dan punya SPF 15. Penting nih SPF! Yang saya kurang suka cuma spons nya, karena kalau buat saya spons nya terasa kering di wajah, tapi ini sih preference pribadi aja.

Kalau dipake sehabis BB Cream, wajah jadi tambah smooth dan flawless, biasanya setelah pakai BB Cream saya pakai bedaknya tipis-tipis aja. Pokonya duo Everlast BB Cream + Dual Cake ini sekarang jadi andalan sehari-hari banget deh ^o^

Untuk kulitku yang cepat berminyak bedak ini cukup banget untuk menghadang minyak, apalagi dipadu sama BB Cream, wajah jadi nggak terlalu cepat terlihat kusam lagi, bedak juga masih nempel terus. Ya kira-kira bisa tahan sampai 6-8 jam deh dengan sedikit touch up. Ini contoh pemakaian Everlast BB Cream + Dual Cake nya:

Kalau untuk lipstick nya saya dapat Moisturize Lip Rich Colour dengan varian warna #16 atau Brown Sugar. Di bagian tengahnya ada moisturizer nya untuk melembabkan bibir selama pemakaian. Lipstick ini juga mengandung anti-oxidant dan SPF 15. Warnanya coklat natural, tekstur lipsticknya sendiri cukup lembut, bibir juga jadi terasa halus namun warnanya sheer jadi nggak terlalu terlihat di bibir, buat yang suka warna bibir natural apalagi kalau yang bibirnya kering, lipstick ini bisa jadi pilihan.

Bagi yang ingin mencoba BB Cream Caring Colors ini, atau mencoba bedak dan varian lipsticknya, selain paket seperti yang saya sebutkan di atas, di website Martha Tilaar juga menyediakan paket BB Cream yang terdiri dari tiga varian BB Cream, beberapa varian bedak dual action cake, dan pewarna bibir.

Walaupun saat ini BB Cream ini belum dijual terpisah, namun menurut info dari counter Martha Tilaar BB Cream ini kalau tidak salah nantinya akan dijual dengan harga sekitar Rp.50.000,-.

Event: HERMES Paris Mon Ami

I got invitation to attend the Hermes “Paris Mon Ami” event at Pacific Place a couple of weeks ago. The theme was "carnival party" so there were jugglers in stilts, mini games such as mini golf, mini darts, and mini bottle throw >>> which I surprisingly WON ALL OF THEM, Hahaha! Didn’t know that I had it in me ^__^ - and I got a very delicious cute-looking cupcake from winning the game!

So anyway there were also lots of free food, ice creams, and drinks (from mocktails to cocktails) - catered by Ismaya Catering. There was also a photo booth where you could take a snapshot of yourself and/or with friends – in an Hermes scarf (long queue line), and a fortune teller booth (another long queue line ;p), plus some door prize sessions which I didn’t win any (never got lucky with this kind of thing).

Nothing special here because I actually have no idea on what to wear! So I just put on my trusted white/purple Chic Simple dress and dressy Noche heels, my newly arrived Ciciero bag and just go with it.

Event: GUESS 2011 Fall/Winter Preview

A few weeks ago I got an invitation to attend GUESS 2011 Fall/Winter preview at their store in Grand Indonesia. It's a mini fashion show that showcase their newest collection for Fall to Winter season. Although I didn't get a seat (because seats are exclusively reserved for VIPs and those important people in the fashion world), but the whole show was still great! Love the runway, love the funny MC, and I also love the cocktail foods and drinks that were served by waiters who seems to offer you something every 10 minutes to make sure you don't get hungry or thirsty :)

And most importantly, I love all the clothes and accessories that were showcased in the mini fashion show. There are lots of jackets and vests adorned with fake furs (very Rachel Zoe - which I love!), great sexy slinky jeans (!), sexy black dresses, cute plaid shirts that look equally sexy as it is casually chic, and of course, the bags! Oh the bags are gorgeous and dazzling as always...

The new Men collection has cool looking jackets and sweaters, preppy cardigans, and stylish jeans. Oh I forgot to tell you that the shoes the models wear are also very gorgeous. I always love GUESS shoes, especially the high heel sandals, I think they are one of the sexiest footwear, the one which when you put them on you will instantly feel sexy ;)

I intentionally want to wear my Guess vest because when I'm invited to a fashion brand event I would usually try to respect the brand by wearing one of their collection. But sadly I was not satisfied with my planned outfit that include a Guess vest (this sometimes happened, I imagined an outfit that I want to wear but when I wore it the next day it just doesn't look good in the mirror), so with no time left to try to find another outfit, I go with this easy one instead.

So anyway, at the end of the show I got a souvenir bag with a cute pink pouch in it. It looks like everybody has different pouch in their bag so not every one has the same pouch, I'm lucky I got the cute pink one! And because I was just in need of a new makeup bag to alternate with my Estee Lauder one, so this pink pouch really came at the right time, it's perfect for my makeup bag! Yayness!

And I also snagged their lookbook at the counter and apparently this is the last season lookbook, but I still love it nonetheless. Love the elegant, casually sexy style in this lookbook. Here are some of my favorites:

Winter Outfit Formula

It's the cold months for my US and European readers. And I couldn't help but think about chunky sweaters, knitted tunics, crocheted scarfs, warm jackets, tall boots, leggings and tights! I love layered outfits, and one of my favorite clothing items are anything knitted and crocheted (can't help it, I have a "grandma's" taste).

What can I say? I just love knitwear !

So for the colder months I always dreamed of grey chunky tunics paired with thick black leggings and tall brown laced-up boots with a brown-ish bag for casual everyday attire. Add a grey slouchy beanie and you're ready to go!

For work outfit you could incorporate a colorful waterfall long cardigan such as this beautiful blue turquoise one from Joe Browns into your formal work attire to get that chic office look. A black pants would look great with this outfit.

For a more laid back casual chic look, you can add a wrap waistcoat / vest with a pretty tribal motif over a simple white blouse, add a skinny jeans, tall boots and long necklace, and you have yourself an outfit that you could wear on most occasions.

And then on the weekend you can go with your favorite jeans or leggings, add some cute colorful socks or leg warmers, and wear a cute knitted sweater in the cutest pastel color such as this fuchsia tunic sweater with adorable front pocket, hoods, and pom poms!
