Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) played by seasoned actor Carol Danvers is set to make her MCU debut in just a few months as Captain Marvel before reappearing on the screen again in Avengers 4.

Although this can be extended if the rumored time jump on Avengers 4 are proven to be true, the bulk of the gap comes on Captain Marvel's end. In order to tell Carol's origin without worrying about most of the MCU's ongoing canon, Marvel Studios and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are going to introduce Carol in the 1990s.
This decision came as a surprise, but fans have been debating what it means for Carol's Avengers 4 role and look ever since. With Captain Marvel taking this route for Carol, it will mean that she'll have barely aged at all between the time of her accident and when she arrives back on Earth.
The events of her solo movie are not expected to span too much time either, although it is also unknown how long ago her accident was and how long she's been working with the Starforce as a result. Even if that is a few years, Carol looks to have barely aged a day. Jumping forward another twenty years or more to Avengers 4's place in time may not change her look too much either. But the more important aspect of her slowed aging is that it means Carol can still be alive, active, and very much in her prime when she gets to Nick Fury.

Qatar is set to leave OPEC next month in a bid for the gulf state to focus on gas production, energy minister Saad al-kaabi said in an official announcement this week.

He also added that Qatar would still continue to produce oil but would concentrate on the production of gas where it is biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas in the world.

He said, '' We don't have great potential in oil, we are very realistic. Our potential is gas. Qatar joined OPEC in 1961 even though the organisation is dominated by the oil-rich Saudi Arabia, which since 2017 has led a bloc of countries in imposing a blockade on Qatar.

On this day December 5th 1945, at exactly 2:10 p.m, five U.S Navy Avenger torpedo-bombers (flight 19) take off from the Ft. Laudedale Naval Air station in Florida on a routine three-hour mission. flight 19 was scheduled to take them due east for 120 miles, north for 73 miles, and then back over a final 120-mile leg stretch that would return them to the naval base. The only problem is, they never returned.

The 14 men aboard the flight 19 and the 13 men of the mariner led to one of the largest air and seas searches to that date, and hundreds of ships and aircraft which no trace of them was ever found after thorough search only goes to prove the legend of the Bermuda triangle where ships and aircraft are said to disappear without a trace to be true.

Griezmann overcame formidable competition for the prize and won the nod over the likes of Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez despite not featuring in the running for the best striker award and failing to win a place in the division's team of the season, which was named in June.

Messi, who claimed the individual Liga gong on six of the previous seven times it was up for grabs, pipped Barcelona top scorer and team-mate Suarez and Athletic Bilbao veteran Aritz Aduriz to the best striker prize, while Uruguay's Suarez was recognised as La Liga's "World Player" despite the honours for Argentina's Messi and France's Griezmann.

The event -- which aides expect will draw thousands -- is part of an ongoing series of concerts that aim to motivate young people to turn out for Clinton the way they turned out for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012.Jay Z is not the first member of his household to help Clinton. Iconic artist Beyonce, Jay Z's wife, attended a Clinton fundraiser in New York City in 2015. She has not, however, performed on Clinton's behalf.Jay Z's event is targeted specifically at young black voters, an electoral demographic that has been reluctant to rally around Clinton, in part, because of comments she made in the 1990s and her support of President Bill Clinton's crime bill.

Senior Kerala IPS officer Rishi Raj Singh has caused uproar with his comment that if a man stares at a woman for 14 seconds he can be charged with harassment. Indian social users who found the comments rather hilarious have been trolling him on twitter via the hashtag #FreedomToLive #14seconds

Singh stated this while addressing a state-level empowerment programme for students at Kochi on Sunday. He also asked the girls and women to carry knife or pepper spray in their handbags for self-defence.

"Do you carry a knife or chilly or pepper spray in your bags? if you don't the time is long overdue for you to do so," he reportedly told the participants.

Martial arts is another option of self-defence for women, he added exhorting women to instantly react and inform the police if they were harassed by men.

Reacting to Rishi Raj Singh, Sports minister EP Jayarajan termed the comments as "disgusting". He even said that he would ask the excise minister to examine the speech made by the IPS officer.

However there were some who came out in his support. 'What Rishiraj Singh told students shouldn't be a subject of trolling. His message, 'girls be proactive', is clear & you should be with him,' tweeted NS Madhavan, a Malayalam writer.

Rio 2016: Nigeria 0-2 Germany - Nigeria loses semi-final match, to face Honduras in 3rd place match for Bronze medal

Germany has qualified for the finals of the football event at Rio 2016 after demolishing Nigeria 2-0 in the semi-final tonight August 17th.

The Germans scored in the 9th minute through Lukas Klostermann and pressured from then on as the Nigerian defensive line looked shaky and lacked some solidity, if not for the hard work of Troost Ekong at the backline, the African champions would have conceded more goals...

At half time, Germany led Nigeria 1-0 but Nigeria created a few chances in the final 10 minutes to give their opponents something to think about at the break.

The second half started with Samson Siasia not making any change and the team showed some liveliness and more tactical awareness after the break. But after some indecisive play by Nigeria's front line through out the second half, they were made to pay for their blushes by Nils Petersen in the 89th minute after a stunning counter attack that left only Troost Ekong as the defensive cover for Nigeria's goalkeeper.

Nigeria's players looked distraught at the final whistle but will have some consolation in the fact that they will play Honduras in the third place match for a Bronze medal.

They didn’t have it all their own way but eventually Germany saw off Nigeria and will play Brazil at the Maracanã in a mouth-watering gold medal match two years on from that famous 7-1 thrashing in the 2014 World Cup.

6-year-old boy dies protecting his mother from attacker

South Africans across the country, the social media, the community of Jan Kempdorp and the Northern Cape on Monday August 15th, joined the family of six-year-old Kutlwano Garesape in mourning the brutal death of the young hero.

According to local media, Kutlwano and his mother were walking to school at Jan Kempdorp in the northern Cape when they were attacked on Friday. The child was stabbed repeatedly with a broken bottle by an assailant identified as Tefelo Dikole‚ 32‚ who has already appeared in the Jan Kempdorp Magistrate’s Court.

Segomotso Garesape‚ 42‚ was attacked while walking her two sons‚ aged six and eight‚ to school after they missed their bus. Kutlwano slapped and kicked the man as he attempted to strangle his mother‚ screaming: "Let go of my mommy"

"I heard my child crying out for me and I saw him trying to defend himself with his hands. The man just kept on stabbing him‚"

People from across the country have conveyed their condolences to the family and offered to help them. The attack was met with outrage and heartache on social media.

Daphne Mufamadi tweeted‚ "Im shattered by the Killing of 6 year old Kutlwano Garesape‚ stabbed to death trying to protect his mother"

Community members meanwhile protested outside the court and opposed bail for the accused, calling for him to be kept behind bars. They labelled the attack on Segomotso Garesape and her two young children as a savage act and said the attacker “must pay”.

"This is a small community where we all know each other. The fact that the mother knew the attacker, and he continued to hurt her, is just shocking," one community member said. " This angers the community even more as this incident now inflicts fear in all of us and we feel that we are not safe. As a parent, you now really worry about the safety of your children - because this woman and her children were attacked during the morning hours whilst they were walking to school. It is heartbreaking .... as the child died in his mother’s arms."

The Premier of the Northern Cape, Sylvia Lucas, also expressed her condolences to the family in a statement released on Monday.

"This senseless and insensitive attack comes during a month when we actively advocate for the rights of women. There can be no justifiable reason or explanation for one person to inflict so much pain and suffering on an innocent child. Kutlwano had his whole life ahead of him and one merciless act destroyed the life of a child, that of his parents and the community at large. More disturbing is the fact that this innocent boy was on his way to school to obtain an education. The community of Jan Kempdorp and the Northern Cape has been deprived of a future leader and we thus call on all communities to always stand up and protect the wellbeing of our children. This senseless act cannot and will not be tolerated. The Northern Cape provincial government expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and community at large and calls on especially men to defend and uphold the rights of our women and children. We have full confidence that the law enforcement agencies will deal with the matter in the appropriate manner and with the urgency it deserves," said Lucas.

Kutlwano's father, Frank Jacobs, said that the family did not attend court proceedings on Monday as they were at the mortuary in Hartswater. He said they will make an official announcement on Kutlwano’s funeral later.

"We wish to have the funeral this coming Saturday, however, the autopsy is still being conducted and we will afford the law enforcement agencies an opportunity to conclude their investigation. The funeral will be held in Taung but we will release further details later this week,” Jacobs said.

The case was postponed to August 22 for a formal bail application.

Al Baldasaro, a New Hampshire state representative and member of Donald Trump's GOP veterans' coalition has repeated calls for US Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to be executed and says reporters misunderstood the type of harm he wishes her. According to Al, Clinton's use of private e-mail servers while she was secretary of state could be seen as treason, to which the punishment is death.

In a radio show , Al Baldasaro, an army veteran said

“This whole thing disgusts me. Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.”.

But after the US Secret Service said they have started investigations into Al Baldasaro's comments, for his encouragement of violence, Baldasaro now claims that he is the victim.

"The liberal media took what I said and went against the law and the Constitution and ran with it, and they said that I wanted her assassinated, which I never did,” Baldasaro told MassLive.com on Tuesday.

“I said I spoke as a veteran, and she should be shot in a firing squad for treason.”
