Mating in water (kawin cai) the traditions of the Kuningan Indonesia

Indonesia is a country rich in a variety of cultures, a wide range of local arts, and customs that vary starting from Sabang to Merauke. This time I will review a tradition that comes from the Kuningan
West Java, a hereditary tradition called kawin cai (marriage springs). Tradition aims to be regional kuningan is always sufficient water and became a fertile area. Tradition kawin cai (marriage springs) is done by taking water from springs Cibulan and entered into a pitcher, then the water is brought to the scene of mulya springs. Gamelan Javanese traditional musical instrument parts in Indonesia

Gamelan is a set of traditional musical instruments used by ethnic Javanese, Sundanese, and is also used in the paradise island of Bali. Musical instrument called a gamelan or Javanese gamelan at the rate normally used for musical accompaniment puppet show, a dance accompanist gambyong, campursari music and much more. Tone used in the gamelan is divided into two kinds, namely pelog gamelan and gamelan slendro. In gamelan tones used slendro is pentatonic major scale. In general a set of gamelan consists of demung, saron, peking, bonang, kenong, gender, gambang, gendang, kempul, slenthem, Fiddle (violin Java) and Zither (harp Java)

Demung . Made of sheet iron or copper flat box-shaped . Demung Gamelan is the most important part in a gamelan ( musical ) , for being a role model for the type of tone other . How to play demung is to hit with a wooden hammer .

Saron and peking . The shape is the same as the smaller size, demung yet . Between the saron and peking peking smallest . How to play them with being hit with a wooden hammer . If the saron and demung beaten to howl once it hit 2 times .

Bonang . Shaped like jars and there is a prominent part in the middle . These sections must be struck when playing the gamelan instruments bonang . bonang bat at No 2 . Beaten together or can be variations .

Slenthem . Form of musical instrument similar to demung slenthem . But how to wire tied between each other . Slenthem have sounds that are not too tight .

Kenong . The shape is similar to a larger size, but the boning . How to play them a little differently with demung . If the demung play tones (2-1-2-1) (2-3-5-6) (1-6-1-6) then on kenong only plays into four parts ,namely ( 1 ) ( 6 ) ( 6 ) .

Kempul (gong). Is part of a gamelan that have the greatest size. The shape is similar to bonang and kenong but has a large size. Kempul (gong) fitted with side and hanged. Kempul (gong) played by being hit.

Gender. The shape is almost similar to slenthem, smaller size, and the number is unbelievably much. People who play gamelan gender are usually very skilled because it is played by using a feeling. In the puppet show gender is often used when the puppeteer bringing puppetry storyline.

Gambang. Made of wood. Number and function is similar to the gender. Gambang hit with using two o'clock (left and right)

Zither (harp Java). The shape is almost similar to the harp in general, but has a smaller size. Zither is played by Plucked

Fiddle (violin Java). Unlike the violin in general. Using only two strings fiddle. Played by swiped. Tools to swipe fiddle, made from horse tail feathers.

Yogyakarta . One of the cities in Indonesia which has many interesting attractions . Yogyakarta is also known as a student city because in this city there are many well-known universities , such as UGM , UPN , UII and much more .

The story " Rog Ponorogo " originated from a princess named Princess Songgolagit of Kediri kingdom . Songgolangit daughter is beautiful princess who became a dream of the sons of the king at the time. Many of the men who wanted to marry the king . However Songgolangit daughter has not wanted to get married at that time , even though his parents wanted him to marry and obtain a grandchild . When the daughter Songgolangit be confused then he meditated for instructions .
