Just wanted to share this with you. It's currently one of my favorite videos on youtube. Keep it mind this was meant to be a children's cartoon, but this segment of the cartoon is by far the best part - it says so much......octavarium7http://www.blogger.com/profile/17516336087545153425noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-877509740450939538.post-20031697326111545742012-01-22T12:28:00.001-08:002012-01-22T12:28:58.151-08:00SOPAthetic

Well everyone, back from a short break in blogging, so here's a short one - as you all know SOPA has been temporarily put on ice whilst legislators work for or against the atrocity that is this bill. What are your thoughts? Do you think your internet should be censored as if we were some communist third-world country? Is that seriously what America is coming to? Probably. But hopefully not - There will always be a way to combat censorship - mark my words.octavarium7http://www.blogger.com/profile/17516336087545153425noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-877509740450939538.post-75589820849405082652012-01-17T07:38:00.001-08:002012-01-17T11:26:52.434-08:00Accounting 2001

Well, today begins the last semester at LSU to earn my Associates degree in applied computer information sciences. I'm so glad that it's almost over and glad that my family won't have to pay for massively overpriced books and tuition, some of which with subpar i structors which confirm the course resources and then leave you to teach it to yourself... but hey, isn't that what life is all about? Oh well, in a few months ill have my overpriced piece of paper (which entitles me to absolutely nothing, except being recognized as a statistic (LOL)) and I'll shortly be hunting for an entry-level computer repair and or troubleshooting / installations job. Heh. Here's a little snapshot for whatever reason, oh yeah, someone told me not to blog without pictures. ( and no i'm not just sitting in an empty room- everyone gravitated toward the back anyway - i just so happened to not include anyone in the shot for uh, legal reasons.

pre-post edit: professor is an old guy who walked in and said "Accounting... okay.. everyone here for Accounting 2001?" I was the only one who verbally responded. Lulz

Aren't you proud of me >:3
Hey everyone, I have actually begun work on my new blog - guitaravarium.blogspot.com - And a new lesson is now complete. My fellow blogger musicians should check it out. Keep in mind that beginner lessons will be posted as soon as they are completed! More advanced exercises will appear more often- possibly in two-day intervals. Audio and video clips to come! Ever since looking at, modifying, and admiring my last post, I've been inspired to create a second blog - guitaravarium.blogspot.com - dedicated to music, more specifically, beginner to advanced guitar lessons, theory lessons, excercises, tablature, and more! All my fellow bloggers who happen to be music fans should check it out, you might learn something even if you don't play guitar! I hope you guys enjoy :) -Picture unrelated, but awesome.octavarium7http://www.blogger.com/profile/17516336087545153425noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-877509740450939538.post-76418744765996594082012-01-14T16:18:00.000-08:002012-01-17T06:13:43.651-08:00Project RG. (The neverending project)A transformation of my favorite guitar, and Ibanez RG series. Starting out as a bare-bones RG270 model, it has evolved over the years to become probably my favorite guitar ever! It has since gained Seymour Duncan's JB(bridge)/Jazz(neck) pickups, a new Floyd Rose tremolo (pics of the old one coming shortly), professional fretwork from a master luthier, and numerous home-brew paint jobs (my favorite part) Here's a before and after montage!
Here is something I must share with you. It is a company (California based - i think) who have written API software to produced nearly unlimited per-pixel detail in a real time 3D Rendering engine. I cannot wait for video games to incorporate this technology.... Just think - seeming endless maps, true to life environmental detail, realistic rocks, gravel, liquid, surface maps, 'non-polygonized' humanoid actors, and whatever else you could possibly think of. Also the kicker is that most of the processing is done by the software, leaving your hardware for the bulk of the eye candy and post processing. What do you think about your so called United States of America? More like capitalist central...
"Presently, the tumult died down. The four pigs waited, trembling, with guilt written on every line of their countenances. Napoleon now called upon them to confess their crimes. They were the same four pigs as had protested when Napoleon abolished the Sunday Meetings. Without any further prompting, they confessed that they had been secretly in touch with Snowball ever since his expulsion, that they had collaborated with him in destroying the windmill, and that they had entered into an agreement with him to hand over Animal Farm to Mr Frederick. They added that Snowball had privately admitted to them that he had been Jones' secret agent for years past. When they had finished their confession, the dogs promptly tore their throats out, and in a terrible voice Napoleon demanded whether any other animal had anything to confess.
The three hens who had been the ringleaders in the attempted rebellion over the eggs now came forward and stated that Snowball had appeared to them in a dream and incited them to disobey Napoleon's orders. They too, were slaughtered."
George Orwell is turning in his grave...

Albert Einstein works diligently in his basement
his piece of chalk moves swiftly across the chalkboard
jotting down equations and formulas and the question remains
what secrets of the universe will be unlocked tonight?
but we’ll have to wait for the Master to give us the key
we’ll have to wait for him to go on an infinite search
through his mind to find the key to find the answer
the Master looks everywhere and finally finds the key
the Master inserts the key and in an instant there are endless
possibilities - fantasy becomes reality and dreams are
no longer just images and the way we think of light, sound and
space is changed forever!

In addition to a health indicator, Daniel's sanity must be managed. Being in darkness too long, witnessing unsettling events, or staring at monsters for too long will reduce the character's sanity. As the sanity level decreases, visual and auditory hallucinations occur and the player more easily draws the attention of monsters. Light sources help restore sanity, and in the bowels of the castle the player character may use tinderboxes to light wall-mounted candles, or deploy an oil-burning lantern found near the beginning of the game. However, the number of tinderboxes and the amount of oil in the game are both limited. Standing in a light source also makes the player more easily noticed by monsters. The player must find a balance between the amount of time they spend in light and shadow. Sanity is fully restored once Daniel completes an objective or progresses the game's story. It may also be restored by staying in the shadows until Daniel passes out, but this leaves him extremely vulnerable to any nearby monsters.

If a monster spots Daniel, it will chase him until he's out of sight. Daniel's only option at this point is to flee, as Amnesia does not give the player access to weapons. Players must find hiding places or barricade doors with rocks, chairs and other obstacles; unfortunately, monsters are very capable of tearing down doors in their path and kicking obstacles out of the way, and move extremely fast once they have spotted their prey. Players can also choose to hide Daniel in the shadows, at cost to sanity. Monsters who lose sight of Daniel will search for him for a time, but will eventually leave and vanish. At several points in the game, they are required to advance, as they will tear down a problematic obstacle in their path.
octavarium7http://www.blogger.com/profile/17516336087545153425noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-877509740450939538.post-90334697566165295902012-01-10T14:47:00.000-08:002012-01-10T14:47:16.373-08:00I'm hungry

""Live in the moment" means to concentrate on the present, with little or no regard to the past and especially not the future.
"Mozart died in poverty because he never saved any money for the future. He just lived in the moment."
Sometimes you may hear it as "live for the moment".
My Chinese is basic, but I think 得过且过 translates more to "marking time", which has a more negative flavor.
过一天算一天" is "living day-to-day" which is closer to the original meaning - however "living day-to-day" can also mean normal and mundane.""octavarium7http://www.blogger.com/profile/17516336087545153425noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-877509740450939538.post-50801808680559222202012-01-10T14:00:00.001-08:002012-01-10T14:00:01.587-08:00
