Sahasrara: The Crown Chakra

Sahasrara is generally considered to be the chakra of pure consciousness. Its role may be envisioned somewhat similarly to that of the pituitary gland, which secretes hormones to communicate to the rest of the endocrine system and also connects to the central nervous system via the hypothalamus. The thalamus is thought to have a key role in the physical basis of consciousness. Symbolized by a lotus with one thousand petals, it is located at the crown of the head. Sahasrara is represented by the colour violet and it involves such issues as inner wisdom and the death of the body. Sahasrara's inner aspect deals with the release of karma, physical action with meditation, mental action with universal consciousness and unity, and emotional action with "beingnness".^[27]

[edit]Ajna: The Brow Chakra

Ajna (along with Bindu, is also known as the third eye chakra) is linked to the pineal gland which may inform a model of its envisioning. The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland that produces the hormone melatoninwhich regulates sleep and waking up. Ajna is symbolised by a lotus with two petals, and corresponds to the colour white, indigo or deep blue. Ajna's key issues involve balancing the higher & lower selves and trusting inner guidance. Ajna's inner aspect relates to the access of intuition. Emotionally, Ajna deals with clarity on an intuitive level.^[28]

(Note: some opine that the pineal and pituitary glands should be exchanged in their relationship to the Crown and Brow chakras, based on the description in Arthur Avalon's book on kundalini called Serpent Power or empirical research.)

[edit]Vishuddha: The Throat Chakra

Vishuddha (also Vishuddhi) may be understood as relating to communication and growth through expression. This chakra is paralleled to the thyroid, a gland that is also in the throat and which produces thyroid hormone, responsible for growth and maturation. Symbolised by a lotus with sixteen petals. Vishudda is characterized by the color light or pale blue, or turquoise. It governs such issues as self-expression and communication, as discussed above. Physically, Vishuddha governs communication, emotionally it governs independence, mentally it governs fluent thought, and spiritually, it governs a sense of security.^[29]

[edit]Anahata: The Heart Chakra

Anahata, or Anahata-puri, or padma-sundara is related to the thymus, located in the chest. The thymus is an element of the immune system as well as being part of the endocrine system. It is the site of maturation of the T cells responsible for fending off disease and may be adversely affected by stress. Anahata is symbolised by a lotus flower with twelve petals. (See also heartmind). Anahata is related to the colours green or pink. Key issues involving Anahata involve complex emotions, compassion, tenderness, unconditional love, equilibrium, rejection and well being. Physically Anahata governs circulation, emotionally it governs unconditional love for the self and others, mentally it governs passion, and spiritually it governs devotion.^[30]

[edit]Manipura: The Solar Plexus Chakra

Manipura or manipuraka is related to the metabolic and digestive systems. Manipura is believed to correspond to Islets of Langerhans,^[31] which are groups of cells in the pancreas, as well as the outer adrenal glands and the adrenal cortex. These play a valuable role in digestion, the conversion of food matter into energy for the body. Symbolised by a lotus with ten petals. The colour that corresponds to Manipura is yellow. Key issues governed by Manipura are issues of personal power, fear, anxiety, opinion-formation, introversion, and transition from simple or base emotions to complex. Physically, Manipura governs digestion, mentally it governs personal power, emotionally it governs expansiveness, and spiritually, all matters of growth.^[32]

[edit]Svadhisthana: The Sacral Chakra

Swadhisthana, Svadisthana or adhishthana is located in the sacrum (hence the name) and is considered to correspond to the testes or the ovaries that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle. Svadisthana is also considered to be related to, more generally, the genitourinary system and the adrenals. The Sacral Chakra is symbolized by a lotus with six petals, and corresponds to the colour orange. The key issues involving Svadisthana are relationships, violence, addictions, basic emotional needs, and pleasure. Physically, Svadisthana governs reproduction, mentally it governs creativity, emotionally it governs joy, and spiritually it governs enthusiasm.^[33]

[edit]Muladhara: The Base Chakra

Muladhara or root chakra is related to instinct, security, survival and also to basic human potentiality. This centre is located in the region between the genitals and the anus. Although no endocrine organ is placed here, it is said to relate to the gonads and the adrenal medulla, responsible for the fight-or-flight response when survival is under threat. There is a muscle located in this region that controls ejaculation in the sexual act of the human male. A parallel is charted between the sperm cell and the ovum where the genetic code lies coiled and thekundalini. Muladhara is symbolized by a lotus with four petals and the colour red. Key issues involve sexuality, lust and obsession. Physically, Muladhara governs sexuality, mentally it governs stability, emotionally it governs sensuality, and spiritually it governs a sense of security.^[34]

Woodroffe also describes 7 head chakras (including Ajna and Sahasrara) in his other Indian text sources. Lowest to highest they are: Talu/Talana/Lalana, Ajna, Manas, Soma, Brahmarandra, Sri (inside Sahasrara), Sahasrara.

The Nobel Prize for physics this year lauds three individuals who described tiny - but hugely significant - flaws in the fabric of the Universe.

Yoichiro Nambu, Makoto Kobayashi and Toshihide Maskawa have all provided new insights into the nature of matter.

Nambu described a mechanism called spontaneous broken symmetry in sub-atomic physics.

The work of Kobayashi and Maskawa predicted the existence of three families of particles known as quarks.

Mystry of the colour of the 'Huming bird'

Suddenly striking eyes on this post one can imagine that this post is about bird, more precisely about huming bird.
Obviously this post is about huming bird but I am not reflecting its biological characters but one of mystry possessed by it i.e. the brilliant color of its body.
This coloration is not due to pigmentation present in the its body.So i am using the word mystry for this property.

Actually this coloration has some physical origination.This is due to the interference of light reflected from their body.

Destinations for next Mars Rover

The two top-ranked destinations for the next Mars rover are craters thought to contain ancient bodies of water. The walls of Holden Crater were breached by a flood that filled a lake in the centre.

The Mars science community has ranked a landing site called Eberswalde Crater as the most tantalizing destination for the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL).

The next Mars rover could end up down in the delta if a group of geologists and astrobiologists get their way.

"Mysterious burst of light "

Astronomers are speculating over a mysterious burst of light detected by the Hubble Space Telescope.

The event, which bears only the name SCP 06F6, appeared in the telescope's field of view on 21 February 2006, brightened for around 100 days and then dimmed away to nothingness. There is no record of anything similar appearing before or since, and no clue as to what the source was; its spectrum appears unlike anything previously observed.

Water 'widespread' on early Mars

In Mars' Nili Fossae, clays are concentrated on slopes and along canyon walls

Water was once widespread on Mars, data from a NASA spacecraft shows, raising the prospect that the Red Planet could have supported life.

Researchers found evidence of vast lakes, flowing rivers and deltas on early Mars, all of which were potential habitats for microbes.

They also discovered that wet conditions probably persisted for a long time on the Red Planet.

The Large Hadron Collider is the world's most powerful particle accelerator. As the first proton beams zipped around the LHC's massive 27-kilometre ring on 10 September 2008, it marked a new era of physics that could pin down the identity of the dark matter that shapes galaxies.

The official “start up” day of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has begun, with a low-energy beam of protons making it all the way round the 27 km-long ring.

At 9:30 am CET (8:30 am BST), control-centre scientists Stefano Radaelli and Rassano Giachino — given the go-ahead from project leader Lyn Evans — injected a proton beam with an energy of 450 GeV from the Super Proton Synchrotron into the LHC.

63.73% examinees cleared the ‘Iron Gate’

The results of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination for this year (2064-2065) have been published.
Of the 307,078 examinees that appeared in this year's SLC examination, 195,689 have passed - which is 63.73 percent, the highest ever pass percentage in history of the examination. On the exempted side, around 32 percent have passed this year's SLC examination.

The quantity of the result is very nice and a record in the history of the result of that examination. There are many factors which helps to achieve this result and I think I need not to mention all the factors. But let’s hope that the quality of the result as well as education will also reflect good news in coming future.

High levels of radioactivity in Italian hospital waste

If so,now it is the time to think about its disposal.
We have just passed away the World Environment day, committed for the betterment of this earth and saving it for future generations also.

The news from BBC indicates that the level of radioactivity was 80 times higher than normal and a costly special treatment would be needed to make it safe.
So the Workers in the German city of Hamburg have been told to stop processing Italian hospital waste after finding high levels of radioactivity in it.

The waste in question came from the Italian region of Campania, which includes the city of Naples.
Radioactivity, which leads to harmful radiation very dangerous to human body as well as our environment should be minimized and the radiation should be handled properly.
So,producer of hospital goods should think about this from their heart and should try to decrease harmful radiation in this earth.

Hope of 'human stem cell' for brain disorder

If someone is suffering from brain disorder, here is good news for them.

'Human stem cells' have been used to correct abnormal brain development in mice with fatal brain disorders, offering hope for treating a range of neurological disorders including some deadly childhood genetic diseases.

A research conducted by a team led by Steven Goldman, at the University of Rochester in New York found that human stem cell may be used to cure the brain disorder.They took the progenitor cells from white matter in the fetal human brain and injected them into the spinal cords of mutant shiverer mice shortly after their birth.This research reflects the positive result in mouse.

The treatment uses human glial progenitor cells — cells that can differentiate into the glial cells that, among other things, make up 'myelin'. Myelin, a protein that insulates the long 'arms' of nerve cells, called axons, helps the conduction of neural signals throughout the nervous system.

In humans, myelin losses also cause serious diseases. Multiple sclerosis is characterised by myelin loss in some areas of the brain. Some rare childhood diseases are also caused by an inability to produce myelin.

Although the research is conducted in mice there is a hope for the success of this research in humanan also.So a practical therapy is still some way away. ”This is a therapy for the future,” he says.

We all have eagerness to know the thinking of other peoples. This curiosity mainly arises while talking with others which may help to improve our relationship.
We try to understand their facial expression,collect data from their physical activities and analyze to know their thought.
We also know about "Telepathy" which creates the possibility of knowing the thinking of other peoples.

Now science may solve this problem.This hope is created by Researchers led by Tom Mitchell of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

They trained a computer model to recognize the patterns of brain activity associated with 60 images, each of which represented a different noun, such as 'celery' or 'aeroplane'.It can predict what word you are thinking of. The model may help to resolve questions about how the brain processes words and language, and might even lead to techniques for decoding people’s thoughts.

Although this invention may harm human beings,may violate human rights on the case of improper use.But it also opens many possibilities to understand the nature of mind
and its working pattern.

Mars lander on the surface of the Mars

NASA's Phoenix lander has touched down safely on the northern plains of Mars after a
Phoenix is an apt name for the current mission, as it rose from the ashes of two previous failures.
The final seven minutes of the probe's 10-month journey to Mars were regarded as the hardest part of the mission.
The probe had to survive a fiery plunge through the planet's thin atmosphere, slowing from a speed of nearly 21,000km/h (13,000 mph).
It released a parachute, used pulsed thrusters to slow to a fast-walking speed, and then descended the last few meters to the Martian soil to land on three legs.
NASA team monitored each stage of the descent and landing process through radio messages relayed to Earth via the Odyssey satellite in orbit around Mars.10-month journey from Earth.

The spacecraft will begin its three-month science mission in the next few days.

Images sent back show a flat valley floor with polygonal features that give the ground a "paved" appearance.

These are believed to be a sign of the water-ice that lies just beneath the surface at these high latitudes.

When i visited the website of BBC, my eyes encountered with the headline
"Oil soars to new record over $135"

The price of oil hit a record high above $135 a barrel on Thursday - more than twice what it cost a year ago.
Some analysts have raised the possibility of prices rising as high as $200 a barrel during the next 18 months.

If the rising in price will be continuing in this way, one day there might be world war for the fuel and energy.So peoples of this world should think about other source of energy and nation should spend for that and more & more research should be done.
