Rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs hurt in car crash in US

2012-10-25T01:30:00.000-07:00

Sean 'Diddy' Combs is thought to have been hurt in a car crash in LA.

The car he was travelling in was hit by another vehicle in front of the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Lt Lincoln Hoshino of the Beverly Hills force says that Combs was a passenger in an SUV on Sunset Boulevard on Wednesday when another car turned left in front of it causing the crash.

The star complained of pain but told officers he would see a doctor himself rather than have an ambulance called.

No-one was taken to hospital after the incident.

It is not clear what injuries Diddy got or what caused the pain that he reported.

Although the hip-hop and fashion star updates his Twitter account frequently, he has not posted on the social networking site since the crash.

Tom Hanks Drops F-Bomb on 'Good Morning America'

2012-10-20T02:32:00.002-07:00

Tom Hanks drops F-bomb on live TV

Tom Hanks did something one would think was about as likely as Ted Nugent putting an Obama bumper sticker on his truck.

Hanks dropped an F-bomb on "Good Morning America" Friday, just seconds after he predicted he might.

"GMA" host Elizabeth Vargas asked Hanks to speak in the same accent he does in his new movie, "Cloud Atlas." Hanks said it would be tricky, since so much of the dialogue is swear words. He tried, and failed.

Hanks apologized profusely, as did Vargas, and Hanks made another prediction: that his next appearance on the show will come with a seven second delay.

A rep for ABC said the situation was "corrected" for all subsequent feeds of the show.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE NOW JESSICA BIEL'S HUSBAND: Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got married Friday.

E! News reports the longtime couple traded vows in front of family and close friends at the Borgo Egnazia resort in the southern Italian city of Fasano.

"It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends," the newlyweds said in a statement to People.

Jimmy Fallon and his wife Nancy Juvonen, Andy Samberg, Timbaland, 'N Sync alum Chris Kirkpatrick, Biel's 7th Heaven sister Beverley Mitchell, and music manager Johnny Wright and his wife Erika were among the VIPs in attendance.

The festivities kicked off a few days earlier with a casual

beach party on Wednesday night (if you consider a 10-minute fireworks show "casual"), followed the next day with dinner and drinks in Trappeto.

Private security was tight everywhere the wedding party went. A source told E! News that guests were asked to sign nondisclosure agreements to ensure that the details of the wingding stayed private.

Why? Did they sacrifice a goat or something?

No word on whether the newlyweds are honeymooning elsewhere.

BRITNEY SPEARS ACCUSED OF DRUG ADDICTION: This may become more fun than a good, old-fashioned O.J. trial.

Sam Lutfi's defamation case against Britney Spears' mother only started Friday, yet his lawyer has already alleged that Spears overdosed on amphetamines the night in 2008 she was placed on a psychiatric hold, shaved her head during her 2007 meltdown because she was afraid her hair held evidence of drug use, was addicted to Adderall, and frequently used crystal meth.

Sounds like someone liked to stay awake.

Oh, and Lutfi also alleges Spears' father Jamie once attacked him.

Wow. I can't wait to hear what happens after lunch.

Lutfi is suing Lynne Spears over her book, in which she claimed Lutfi controlled Spears and her career through drugs, calling him a "Svengali" figure. After a series if bizarre incidents and strange behavior, Spears was placed in a conservatorship overseen by her father -- and later joined by her fiance Jason Trawick -- in which they control her finances and have largely put her life and career back on track.

Lutfi's lawyer Joseph Schleimer admitted in opening statements that Lutfi used Adderall (an amphetamine) for ADD, but he was adamant he never gave her any. Schleimer also said Lutfi repeatedly tried getting Spears off drugs, without success. Schleimer said Lutfi wanted to bring a new team in -- he called it "the varsity team" -- to help save her.

Schleimer also said Lutfi brought a drug-sniffing dog into Spears' house and found a baggie of crystal meth and tried to get Spears to meet with a psychiatrist two days before she overdosed, but Spears refused.

And since they were already there, Lutfi's lawyer said her former self-styled manager tried desperately to talk her out of doing what turned out to be her disastrous 2007 MTV Video Music Awards performance because she was overweight and hadn't rehearsed, but she refused.

Yeah, maybe I can see that one ... .

And because that wasn't enough, Schleimer also said Jamie Spears attacked Lutfi, punching Sam and knocking the wind out of him.

Sounds like his wind has returned.

Team Spears hasn't had the chance to respond yet. Expect many exciting updates here as the action progresses

LINDSAY LOHAN DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR WORK: Lindsay Lohan didn't show up Wednesday for a voice-over gig for her upcoming movie.

Maybe it's a better idea to tell her not to show up somewhere if you want her there.

Bret Easton Ellis -- who wrote Lindsay's new film "The Canyons" -- claims Lohan missed her automatic dialogue replacement session Wednesday. He posted a tweet saying he sent his bloodthirsty character from his 1991 book "American Psycho" over to find her.

Those two would make a cute couple.

He tweeted, "Patrick Bateman has just headed over to Lindsay Lohan's hotel to confront her as to why she missed her (expletive) ADR on 'The Canyons' today... ."

Well, everyone knows Lohan isn't the most punctual person. She may have been busy crashing her car or something.

PATTINSON AND STEWART DISPLAYING AFFECTION: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were photographed kissing Wednesday by Stewart's pool at her new home, according to celebrity website PopSugar.

OMG and ;) and however you make little hearts with exclamation points behind them.

And that's just the reaction for the movie studio execs. You should see how the Twihards are reacting.

The 22-year-old actress shared a loving embrace and kiss with Pattinson, 26, before changing into her bikini and going for a dip.

The "Twilight" actors have been slowly entering back into the spotlight following Stewart's affair in July with her married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

On Monday, Pattinson and Stewart were photographed for the first time in public together having an intimate chat outside a Los Angeles bar.

Stewart recently purchased a new 3,361-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 4-bath home, in the trendy neighborhood of Los Feliz, less than two miles from the home she used to share with Pattinson. She reportedly paid $2.2 million for the house, which, apparently, does not include some kind of barricade to keep the paparazzi from shooting pictures of her pool.

While their reconciliation is convenient for the beginning of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" promotions in November, a source told Us Weekly "they have a very deep connection."

"He started thinking nobody else would understand his life," an insider said. "His rational voice told him not to toss a three-year relationship for one infidelity."

MADONNA INSENSITIVE TO COLORADO: Madonna apparently doesn't get much news on her planet.

The singer started her show Thursday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver with a gun scene, which she has used in previous performances.

According to KUSA-TV, the station received several calls Friday from concertgoers saying they were offended Madonna used guns and violence as part of her show in light of recent events in Colorado that included a mass shooting at a theater during a Batman movie on July 20 that left 12 people dead.

Yeah, well, you think that's bad? Madonna has had her heart broken and stuff, you guys.

In a statement before beginning the tour, Madonna said she does not condone the use of guns. She said she is using the guns as symbols of intolerance and "the pain I have felt from having my heart broken."

It's Madonna's world. Colorado just lives in it.

GROSS! Lady Gaga Vomits On Stage

2012-10-11T23:53:00.001-07:00

Lady Gaga took a page from the Justin Bieber nausea playbook and vomited several times onstage this past weekend in Spain.

Somebody please pass the Pepto-Bismol, pronto!

Justin Bieber throws up onstage, keeps rockin'

In a video making the rounds, the 26-year-old can be seen slinking down a staircase with her back to the audience during a performance of "Edge of Glory" in Barcelona. Then, as she makes her way across a stage plank toward a dancer, she abruptly throws up at least four times.

At one point, her backup dancer gently pats her on the back as she tries to hurl inconspicuously.

But you gotta give it to Mother Monster: Ever the pro, she barely missed a beat and continued with the performance.

Lady Gaga roasts beef about weight gain, jumps into meat grinder onstage

”Chelsea Lately” Welcomes Big Celebs

At least she's getting some good laughs out of it: The "Poker Face" diva poked fun at herself on Twitter Monday morning, posting a link to the video and writing, "Was praying nobody saw but actually its quite a good laugh if u need one! Check out Lady PukeGA doing Swan 'Vomit' Lake."

She also gave props to herself for carrying on: "I still hit my routine mom!! :)," she tweeted. "Thank goodness for the Dorchester...i need some tea ,i think i just cried a little watching that."

So what was the gastronomic culprit?

Gaga herself might have provided the answer when she tweeted about lunch a few hours before the performance.

Lady Gaga strips down to discuss her battle with bulimia

"In SPAIN having the time of my life!!!!!! *eats Paella in the corner*," she wrote. "I love it here so much, my view is beautiful I'm gon rock Barcelone!"

The bum tummy was yet another blow to the songbird, who seems to be having a tough week overall.

On Sunday night, just a day after her puke-fest, Gaga was booed by fans in London during the launch of her new perfume, Lady Gaga Fame, after she arrived an hour late to Harrod's and then skipped out on posing for fans and photogs on the carpet.

Smells like some serious Little Monster discontent there.

Alex Karras Dead at 77

2012-10-11T22:06:00.006-07:00

Alex Karras, Former NFL Lineman & Actor, Dead at 77

DETROIT – Alex Karras was a man of many roles.

Fearsome NFL defensive lineman. Lovable TV dad. Hilarious big-screen cowboy.

And in the end, a dementia victim who blamed the NFL for his illness along with thousands of former players in lawsuits accusing the league of not doing enough to protect them from the long-term effects of head injuries.

The 77-year-old Karras, who managed to be tough, touching and tragic in the span of a lifetime, died Wednesday at his Los Angeles home surrounded by family members, said Craig Mitnick, Karras' attorney.

Karras was one of the NFL's most ferocious — and best — defensive tackles for the Detroit Lions from 1958-70, bulling past offensive lineman and hounding quarterbacks.

The charismatic bruiser went into acting after his football career, and in his signature scene dropped a horse with a punch as the soft-hearted outlaw Mongo in the 1974 comedy "Blazing Saddles." He also portrayed the father in the 1980s sitcom "Webster," along with his actress-wife Susan Clark, and was in the "Monday Night Football" broadcast booth along the way.

"Perhaps no player in Lions history attained as much success and notoriety for what he did after his playing days as did Alex," Lions president Tom Lewand said.

Born in Gary, Ind., Karras starred for four years at Iowa and was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Detroit drafted him with the 10th overall pick in 1958, and he was a three-time All-Pro defensive tackle over 12 seasons with the franchise.

He was the heart of the Lions' defensive front that terrorized quarterbacks. The Lions handed the champion Green Bay Packers their only defeat in 1962, a 26-14 upset on Thanksgiving during which they harassed quarterback Bart Starr constantly.

Packers guard Jerry Kramer wrote in his diary of the 1967 season about his trepidation over having to face Karras.

"I'm thinking about him every minute," Kramer wrote.

Karras was All-Pro in 1960, 1961 and 1965, and he made the Pro Bowl four times. He was recognized by the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a defensive tackle on the All-Decade Team of the 1960s and retired from the NFL in 1970 at age 35.

But Karras also had run-ins with the NFL long before his lawsuit. He missed the 1963 season when he was suspended by NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle in a gambling probe. Karras insisted he only wagered cigarettes or cigars with close friends.

"Alex Karras was an outstanding player during a time when the NFL emerged as America's favorite sport," the league said in a statement. "He will always be remembered as one of the most colorful characters in NFL history."

For all his prowess as a player, Karras may have gained more fame as an actor.

He had already become known through George Plimpton's behind-the-scenes book "Paper Lion: Confessions of a Last-String Quarterback," about what it was like to be an NFL player in Detroit.

Karras and Plimpton remained friends for life, and one of Karras' sons is named after the author. Karras played himself alongside Alan Alda in the successful movie adaptation of the book, and that opened doors for Karras to be an analyst with Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford on "Monday Night Football."

In Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles," Karras played a not-so-bright, rough-around-the-edges outlaw who not only slugged a horse but also delivered the classic line: "Mongo only pawn in game of life."

In the 1980s, he played a sheriff in the comedy "Porky's" and became a hit on TV as Emmanuel Lewis' adoptive father, George Papadapolis, in the sitcom "Webster."

"I had a very heavy heart this morning and I did not know why. I understand now," Lewis said. "Rest in peace, my friend."

Karras also had roles in "Against All Odds" and "Victor/Victoria." He portrayed the husband of famed female athlete "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias in the TV movie that starred Clark in the title role. The two later formed their own production company.

Clark has said that Karras started to show signs of dementia more than a dozen years ago, and she said his quality of life had deteriorated because of head injuries sustained during his playing career. He could no longer drive and couldn't remember recipes for some of the favorite Italian and Greek dishes he used to cook, she said.

In April, he became the lead plaintiff in a suit filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia. He is among about 3,500 retired football players who accuse the league of not protecting them better from head injuries.

"This physical beating that he took as a football player has impacted his life, and therefore it has impacted his family life," Clark told the AP earlier this year. "He is interested in making the game of football safer and hoping that other families of retired players will have a healthier and happier retirement."

The NFL maintains that it did not intentionally seek to mislead players and says it has taken action to better protect players and advance the science of concussion management and treatment.

"It's an ironic tragedy that Alex had to live with devastating effects from playing the game he loved," Mitnick said.

He said the NFL on Aug. 30 filed a motion to dismiss all the players' actions, and the plaintiffs' response is due Oct. 30.

Mitnick said the family hasn't decided whether to donate Karras' brain for study, as other families have done. The family released a statement listing his other ailments as kidney failure, which recently hospitalized him, stomach cancer and heart disease.

Karras later wrote an autobiography, "Even Big Guys Cry," and two other books, "Alex Karras' and "Tuesday Night Football."

In addition to Clark, his wife of 37 years, he is survived by their daughter and his four children from his first marriage to the late Joan Powell.

Hayden Panettiere Is Ready for Nashville

Actress Hayden Panettiere isn't just going to play the part of Juliette Barnes when the new ABC drama, Nashville premieres Wednesday (Oct. 10). She's going to sing the part, too. She will be providing her own vocals on the country music series, and it seems like she is a natural. "I always said if I was ever going to do music again, I'd do country," Panettiere told Women's Health magazine. "There's honesty and truth in it." Panettiere has mostly done pop songs for Disney soundtracks in the past, but some of her favorite singers in real life are the Dixie Chicks, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean. In the new TV series, her character's album is titled All My Angels, so the show's costume designer will have her in all kinds of short pink and white dresses, dangly sparkly earrings and 5-inch Jimmy Choos. Panettiere got her acting start in soap operas like One Life to Live and Guiding Light, so I'm sure she'll fit in perfectly in this role about what really goes on behind the scenes in Music City.
