1) Scooby Dooby Doo!!! - This set retails for $29.99 however has sold out at Lego upon release this the price increase on Amazon as of early August 2015. The value is sold staying right in that 10 cents per piece ratio and coming with 4 minifigs with the key Shaggy, Scooby and Fred is awesome, but this overall is just a flat out killer rendition of this iconic van. It looks great, but it's very functional.

Two can fit in the front but the rear of the van is what impressed me with its detail. The rear van doors swing open solidly and the roof can come off so you can see inside. Very sturdy and brilliant looking. Excellent playability quotient!

2) A+, One Of The BEST Lego Sets We Own! - This is one of the most amazing LEGO sets created!
Combining LEGO and Scooby-Doo together in a set, just hit it out of the park for us, & we were sold on getting it.
We love Scooby-Doo and LEGO, so I knew my family and I would enjoy putting this set together.
(Even though, it was essentially for my 8 year old who is obsessed with anything LEGO, I just wanted to
help build it, because like how could you not want to, its awesome!)
This set is made wonderfully, as expected, coming from the LEGO brand.
Every piece has precise detail & once the car & tree are build, they look absolutely PERFECTION!
The 4 figures that are included are Shaggy, Scooby, Fred and a Zombie.
The characters from Scooby-Doo, look identical to how they look in the show, and that was much appreciated.
Everything about this set is just as we expected. Perfect x100!
My son has been playing with it non stop and I can definitely see why, I honestly would too :).

1) May the Holiday Force be with you! - I usually buy the Lego City Advent Calendar each year, but this time I decided to try the Star Wars version. As usual there are lots of fun mini-models to assemble and place on the box's play area, including a C3PO holiday minifigure. Whether you buy the City, Friends, or Star Wars version of the advent calendar set, you'll have fun counting down the days in December all the way to Christmas!

This is the 2015 model from Lego---they release new advent calendars every year---but it's simply designated for days 1-24 so you could use any of the sets from year to year. To re-use the calendar, make sure you carefully pop open the perforated windows so you'll be able to re-close them for next time. And be careful opening the box initially: the lid folds down to create a backdrop for setting up all the little models as you build each day.

2) Warning: Spoilers - I'm a Star Wars fan and long time collector of Star Wars Legos, including the yearly Advent Calendar.

I was disappointed enough with this year's set that I'm actually docking one star. 5 of the 24 days aren't Star Wars recognizable in any way. They are merely little stands that hold another day's character's weapons, or something that in some way supports another day's character.
For example:
Day 6 is a little stand that holds a laser gun and bow/arrow (like from a robin hood set or something).
Day 7 is a....shrubbery of some sort that literally does nothing. Really, I'm not kidding.
Day 8 is an Ewok. Awesome.
Day 9 is a catapult.
Day 12 is a glorified gun rack for Day 10's Stormtrooper.
Day 21 is a console that holds a laser gun for Day 17's Hoth Rebel Soldier.
Those five day's toys are sad fillers in my opinion.

The other 19 days are great, including assassin droid IG-88. Another plus that kept me from docking another star is that these are all Original Trilogy toys. I personally appreciate that: nothing from the prequels and no spoilers from the new movie coming out this December.

Here are all the days and their descriptions:

Day 1: Jabba's Sail Barge on a clear stand
Day 2: Sarlaac creature
Day 3: Black Imperial-looking droid (as of this typing I do not recognize it)
Day 4: Jawa (figure)

Day 11: Star Destroyer (unsure whether Victory Class or Imperial Class, definitely not Super Class)

1) A Fantastic Magazine - American Girl has always been one of my favorite magazines. I started subscribing when I was about seven, and I'm still getting it now, at age 13, in addition to the typical "teen magazines." This magazine has great craft and party ideas, and stories about real girls who've had different kinds of interesting experiences. From reading some of the Amazon reviews, I've gotten the idea that some girls are upset by the fact that American Girl publishes hardly any stories about boys, puberty, and makeup, and they have too many articles on crafts and parties. However, I think the fun craft and party ideas are part of what makes American Girl a great magazine. Although pre-teen life doesn't revolve around back-to-school themed sleepovers and Christmas ornament crafts, a girl doesn't need to shut crafts and parties out of her life the day she turns twelve. If you're looking for a magazine with advice on how to put on lip liner and deal with your crush, this may not be the magazine for you. But I think there are plenty of magazines with advice about makeup and boys, and American Girl is a great magazine, even if it doesn't talk much about those topics. I think many girls will enjoy this magazine, especially those between the ages of 8 and 12 (although there are eleven-year-olds who feel to old for the magazine, and fourteen-year-olds who still read it faithfully).

2) What our daughters should be reading - American Girl magazine is geared to girls aged 7-13. Much younger than that and many girls aren't reading at the appropriate level yet. Much older and they may be ready to move on. But honestly I'm surprised to read so many reviews by 10 or 11 year old girls who feel they're too old for this magazine. I don't believe girls that age NEED magazines based solely on makeup tricks, flirting with boys, etc. AG has articles such as dealing with relationships with friends. Like when you and your best friend start to grow apart. Or when she moves away. Articles like one about a girl whose family travels around the world on their sailboat for two years. Crafts that you can actually be proud to give at the age of 10.

Several reviewer have complained that the magazine is short and expensive. It is. But here's why: there is NO advertising (short of anything American Girl related). In many magazines, advertising accounts for easily half the pages. And advertising enables publishers to sell magazines for a low cost. AG has no advertising and so has to charge a fair price to produce it. I'm more than willing to pay for that kind of publication.

Parents ordering for your daughters, you know your girl. If you've got a 10 year old going on 16, this may not be for your child. If you have a precocious 6 year old, she might like it as well. AG is the kind of magazine I'm glad my daughters enjoy.

1) Packed with activities and photos and NO ads. - Having received 6 issues now, I am very impressed with NG Little Kids. Each issue is 24 pgs long, of which 19 of them containing high quality photos (as opposed to drawings). It is packed with activities: a page or two on questioning animal behavior, figuring out rhymes, finding differences and similarities, naming close-up shots, matching big and small items, counting, solving a maze, finding animals within a scene, and imagining what an animal in a photo is thinking. Not only is there a short article detailing one animal but usually there is also one on a society culture (i.e. Africa, China, India), which most kids' magazines lack. A few pages are dedicated to science exploration, craft, and cooking. Every issue also has six tear-out cards of animals with an animal fact on the back of each. Even though it is geared to toddlers and preschoolers, this magazine interests all of my kids, ages 6, 4 and 1 (but really the best for ages 3-4). Best of all, except for a tear-out subscription postcard, there are no ads (unlike NG Kids). This magazine is better than National Wildlife Federation's Wild Animal Baby. As mentioned in a previous review, buy it direct from National Geographic to save money. The only thing I can think of to improve the magazine is to have more issues per year and maybe sturdier/thicker pages.

2) Great Mag for LITTLE KIDS - This short magazine is really wonderful for the audience it's targeted to: LITTLE KIDS. Think 2-3-year-olds here. My 3-year-old son received a subscription for his birthday and absolutely loves it. He and his Dad read it together and it only takes about 20 minutes to read the whole thing at his pace. I do think that the age appropriateness will depend on your kid; I'd say there are 1- and 4-year-olds out there who would also enjoy it. I suggest searching your public library or inter-library loan to see if you can borrow a copy first to see if it's something your kid will like (this is what we did).

I want to address some complaints other reviewers have made:

1)Uses stock photos. They may be stock photos but they are fantastic ones, up close, and suited to young children. I can only imagine this keeps publishing costs lower than they'd otherwise be.

2)Too simple/not enough content. I disagree. This is meant to be a first magazine, even before a kid is old enough for the classic Highlights mag. It's got LOTS of high-quality photos so a kid can enjoy looking at it on his own. The written content is meant to be interactive - I like this for a small child. If you want articles that keep you interested as a parent, you should get National Geographic or if your kid is beginning to read himself then order NG Kids. Also, in addition to the content in the magazine there is a website with games, "science experiments", crafts and short articles on animals. The web content doesn't match what's in the paper mag each month, but it is a fun way to fill in the gap while you wait another week for the next issues and fun to introduce your kid to learning on the web.

3)Too few issues. I agree it would be nice if there were 10-12 issues especially when paying full price for a subscription. But when on sale for $15 per year ($2.50 per issue) I don't think it's too terribly expensive if your kids devours it over and over again like mine does. Just when he's starting to get bored with the last issue another comes in the mail. This is another reason to try borrowing a copy - you'll be able to see if the interest lasts.

4)Cheap. I assume this is what the reviewer meant who wrote that this seems like a freebie that comes with a Happy Meal. At first glance, yes, perhaps it seems that way. But the freebies at McD's are truly cheap and when they try to be educational are often inaccurate. This is small and short because it's aimed at young children, but it's very well produced. The photos are stunning and the "games" aren't as stupid and inane as the ones that come as freebies. It's fairly durable too, printed on high quality paper. I still make my son be careful with it because he's a rough kid, but it holds up well even to him.

5)Small. While the magazine is small (6.5x7 inches) I see this as a plus. Have you ever seen a 2-year-old trying to hold up a large floppy magazine or piece of paper? Very frustrating for the kid. NG Little Kids is the perfect size for little hands.

All in all I'd highly recommend this magazine TO A SPECIFIC AUDIENCE: preschoolers who love animals and nature but can't yet read. If that's not your child, then check out some of the other quality nature magazines for older kids (i.e.National Geographic Kids, NG Young Explorers, Big Backyard, or Ranger Rick).

***I'd also like to point out for parents who are wary of the intent behind science-based kids' materials that I've never seen anything in the issues so far that I thought needed further explanation or correction. Whether you are a Creationist or believe in evolution, you probably won't find anything in here to give you pause.***

2) Wait For Better Bundles - This is the de facto standard edition of the PS4 for 2015. They started giving The Last of Us free as a promotion in 2014, and it was such a big success that they have decided to permanently include it. So since you should from now on always expect this to be included, just wait for promotions as they will include more free games or accessories for the same price. So be patient, and only buy this version if you need it right away and have no other options.

As for the game itself, it is a wonderful game, and one of the best game of any console, any generation. It is a cinematic tour de force. It's one of those games that can survive solely on the basis of its story/storytelling. But what takes it over the top and almost perfect is the mood it sets, the awesome graphics, and a control scheme that works and doesn't get in the way of ruining the experience. All in all, it is one complete package that should satisfy any mature fan. And I say mature because it is a game for adults, not meant for kids, because of its subject matter and content.

I also recommend that, if possible, when you first get the console, is to immediately upgrade your hard drive, before you install any games. 500GB might sound like a lot, but all of the games need to be installed first before they can be played, and some games take up to 50GB, so with additional content, updates, other apps and game downloads, and save data, you might only be able to store about 10 physical games total. So upgrade to at least 1TB if you can, and at 7200 rpm if you can(most are 5400 rpm). You can find a very good drive for cheap, like this one:

2) Fear the Old Blood, A Hunter Must Hunt - A video game getting delayed is one thing... but a strategy guide? Such was the case when Bloodborne was released. Coming from Future Press, the guys who brought us two excellent guides for the Dark Souls games, many of us were ecstatic to find they'd be by our side with Bloodborne. Considering the depth and usefulness of those Dark Souls guides, it was great to see Future Press returning to publish a guide for yet another FromSoftware title. Unfortunately the guide was delayed for nearly a month after the game's initial release. Those of us who realize that Future Press guides are genuinely useful (as well as collector's items) were forced to trek through Bloodborne without it. This brought about the question, would the guide be worth it after the wait? The answer is a resounding yes. It's worth every penny. As a collector's item and a guide through the world of Bloodborne for those who haven't yet found everything, this guide is well worth the time.

Coming in at over 550 pages, the Bloodborne guide is one of the thickest by Future Press. This is because when the game was initially released, Future Press wanted to make sure everything was good and accurate. Of course, we all know how FromSoftware works. Even though this guide is here and it's great... some things could be subject to change. Though right now the information is as accurate as it can be, it's always possible that FromSoftware will change things up that the guide won't update on. The good news is that it's more likely to be data and your strategies will still work.

So let's dive in. The training manual is quick. Very quick. That's saying a lot for this guide because every chapter has so much information it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by everything you're reading. This moment is only here to tell you how the basics of the game work. By now most of you are familiar with the controls and the flow of combat. What's helpful here, though, isn't all that stuff, but rather reading about how the various different abilities and attributes work. For instance, the guide has a break down of how your stats look at each statistical level. So if you increase your HP to level 50, the guide will tell you how much HP you should have. Some of these tables are useful because you'll definitely want to know how to distribute your stats. For instance, once your Arcane reaches 50 there's not much more reason to keep increasing it. It's good to have these tables. For those just starting Bloodborne... you definitely want to start here. The manual you can access via the game is only good at pointing out what this stuff is... but this guide will actually tell you how it works. It's very important for beginners and inexperienced players to start here. You don't just learn about the basics, but also how they work and why they work the way they do.

The second chapter is, aptly enough, The Hunting Grounds. This is the guides fancy way of saying "Walkthrough." It's over 150 pages and it's one of the most helpful parts of the entire guide as a whole. You'll be spending a lot of time here so you better get familiar with it and how it works. If you've picked up the Dark Souls II guide you'll be able to better understand the walkthrough sooner. Again, it can feel like the guide is providing way more information than it appears. Each section begins with a quick introduction and then it shows a series of maps. On these maps it points out all the items (in a nice handy chart) shows where the bosses are and even has page references for the bosses (you'll need those). There is also a handy table to show you all the enemies in the area, how much health they have, telling you whether they're strong or weak... and finally a page number to find them in the guide's bestiary. Again, really helpful stuff.

However, the walkthrough also breaks down each section. Yes, there are lots of maps in each new area, but the walkthrough prefers to take it one section at a time. So you have the overall map and then smaller area maps. In these maps they have diagrams showing you how to run through each area. They also show you all the items in each area while also pointing out unique locations. The text itself is very detailed, but you're going to need to use the maps along with it in order to get the most out of it. The guide is helpful enough to point out where every enemy is as well. If there are branching paths the walkthrough calls it out. If an area looks to be too difficult, the guide will suggest ways in which to lure enemies out and take them down with very little danger to you. As you might also expect, there are lots of screenshots scattered throughout. The text will always tell you which screenshot to look at because every screenshot is numbered. At times it feels like you're using a textbook for Bloodborne. The walkthrough looks like it's complicated at first, but it's actually really easy to use.

One thing that is of note, however, is how some spots in the walkthrough are color coded. For instance, in Yharnam, you can go after either the Cleric Beast first or Father Gascoigne. The walkthrough is covering ALL of Yharnam so it shows diagrams for each path. Taking the red path the walkthrough guides you to the Cleric Beast (and thus the red headers refer to this). Taking the blue path takes you to Father Gascoigne (and thus the blue headers refer to this path). This is important when reading because you don't want to get easily lost. Always figure out where you want to go and use the guide accordingly. Blue header sections refer to the blue path and red to the red one. In some cases just showing a different path may also just be pointing out a different way to run through an area or show a diverging path. Either way, it helps to keep this in mind as it makes the walkthrough far easier to use and makes it feel less overwhelming with information.

For the most part, the maps and the text are really easy to use. There are also boss call outs and sometimes helpful hints called out in the text to help you along. Either way, the walkthrough is extremely useful. If you are feeling lost exploring Bloodborne it's very easy to reorient yourself using this guide.

If you want to explore and just use maps, the guide has a small "Progression Guide," after the walkthrough which is basically just the maps and basic objectives of each level. This is quicker less in depth guide for those who want the joy of exploring for themselves without the walkthrough being too intrusive for you in doing that.

Beyond the walkthrough is the Bestiary, which is where I have my only real complaint with this guide. The bestiary works exactly as you expect. It tells you how every enemy works. Their stats and their attacks. It also provides strategies for defeating each enemy one-by-one. Every enemy has their own unique strategy called out. The reason I have some small complaint here is that I wish they'd organized this similar to the Dark Souls II guide. That way certain enemy strategies would actually be in the walkthrough instead of having to flip through several pages. In particular, if those boss strategies in the walkthrough seem like they aren't enough... it's because the REAL strategy is detailed in the Bestiary under the boss themselves. These are totally valuable strategies, pointing out how each phase of a battle works. I just wish it were in the walkthrough as opposed to being in the bestiary. Considering the 120 page length of the bestiary, though... I'll deal.

We then get a huge breakdown of the Chalice Dungeons. Usually in instances like this where things seem more "random" guides typically just toss in some tips. Not here. In the case of this guide, it's like you're getting a whole second strategy guide. This explains the rituals, gives maps and step by step advice on how to tackle each one. At a mere 90 pages, this is actually the smallest section in this guide outside of the game basics.

We then come into all of the attire and weapons. Every weapon is given several pages of explanation. Several. With each trick weapon we are told how to get it, how its stats increase (as well as scaling when using blood shards) and how they increase with increasing certain stat levels when leveling up. You also get some hints on how to use gems with it. Beyond that the guide will then also give you charts detailing how much stamina gets used, inherent attack bonuses and the impact of said attacks. It'll detail all of these things for charge attacks, dash attacks and the various step attacks. It'll do this for all weapons and it will do it for all of the weapons forms as well. Again, all of this stuff feels like information overload, but you are getting A LOT out of it. The runes and gems are also talked about here. Including how to get them, what they do and how best to utilize them.

This section also talks about the various NPCs and how their quest progression goes and when things will change within them. Should you want to kill them there are also basic stats. If you want to befriend some, it'll tell you how to do it. If you want to get the best items out of them it'll tell you how to do it. This is really useful stuff. There is even a flow chart to help you get through every NPCs quest in order so that you miss nothing. Once beyond this there is also a trophy guide which will help you get every trophy you can in the game.

The last thing is a bonus. You get an interview with Hidetaka Miyazaki. This isn't some short two page spread. This is a fourteen page interview that'll help you learn everything there is to know about Bloodborne. You'll get a lot of insight out of this. The interview is also peppered with lots of artwork as well.

The guide is so huge that you'll feel exhausted just looking at it sometimes. There is an index in the back to help you find your way. Really, though, I think a couple of ribbon book marks would've been nice. With how much you'll be flipping around the pages in this guide it would've been nice to actually mark your place.

That being said, the guide was well worth the wait. I was still able to uncover things I didn't know, utilize strategies I hadn't thought about and improve my game. I've already completed Bloodborne once, but I have no problem revisiting utilizing this guide for a different kind of experience. In some ways that makes me glad for the delay. I got to discover Bloodborne for myself before truly getting to know the game. Nevertheless, as a collector's item it's solid. As a guide to Bloodborne its one of the best resources you can find.

1) Mileage will vary depending on what you are looking for - It's difficult to review this game fairly. It's value and rating will greatly depend on what you expected from it. It was sold as an mmo/rpg space opera shooter with an expansive story and galaxy spanning exploration. From those categories, I can give it different scores.

System, Music, and Graphics
First, the graphical and gameplay aspect. In this area, Destiny shines. It is well polished, graphically impressive, and easy to handle. The music is top notch.

mmo/rpg elements
This is where the game is the weakest. MMO-wise, it is pretty terrible. You cannot type to chat. You are limited to 4 emotes mapped to a controller button. It is difficult to form a party with people. People in your party might not have headsets plugged in and won't hear you or be able to talk with you. They can wander off and not really help you at all. The process for joining or forming parties is cumbersome. In the first 20 hours of playing, I have had 1 person join my fireteam (even though I had it open to all and invited people often). So socially, it is an single player game where you see other people are playing. The Tower area advertised as a social hub really just has people standing around dancing. There is no way to communicate so there really isn't any other way to interact. I found it immersion breaking to see people just dancing with npcs. You are told the galaxy is threatened by darkness, but have people breaking that dark atmosphere by dancing childishly.

Rpg-wise, Destiny flops terribly. Almost nothing is explained or resolved. There are three playable races...but what are the Awoken? Are they aliens? Are they evolved humans? You'll never know. There are multiple alien attacking races. But if you don't read the website explanation, you get zero insight as to who they are or why they are attacking Earth (and attacking each other). You start off in what feels like the middle of a story. I kept hoping it would come back and explain the back story of what happened to Earth, to the Traveler, etc but it never does. None of the mysteries are resolved.
Now, I know the main argument against this point is 'the game is supposed to span multiple years, installments, and expansions'. That being said, as an rpg fan, it is a cardinal sin to release a game without a complete story. If it had a whole and fulfilling story on release, and each expansion and sequel built off it, that would be one thing. What you get is chapter 2 of a 10 chapter novel.
You only go to Earth, the Moon, Mars, and Venus. So not a lot of 'galaxy exploration'. And finally, the actual story chapters follow the following format: get to point, scan with ghost, face hoard of enemies. The ghost narrates 90% of the story. There are some story cutscenes.

Shooter
In this area, I cannot complain. The game controls very well. It has very well balanced abilities and weapons. The enemies are smart and tough without being unfairly tough. The crucible deathmatch areas provide vs multiplayer that is a lot of fun. The strikes provide team based multiplayer that is also a lot of fun and pretty well balanced. As a non shooter regular player, I found the shooter aspect of this game to be the most polished and very entertaining part of the game.

Expansions
This is just a personal point of contention for me. 2 "expansions" have already been announced. They have 1 new story mission, a strike, and a crucible. The first says it will re-use existing maps. Cost $20 for one, or 2 for $35. So I bought a $60 game with an unfinished story and will have to pay $20 every 2-3 months to continue the story? Not to mention that $20 is pretty steep for such minimal content. To me, it feels like a cash grab.

Conclusion
As I said to begin, this game will be divisive. If you wanted a grand story, it will disappoint. If you wanted a great shooter with polish and great balance, it absolutely delivers. And if you aren't a fan of nickel and dime cash grabs for content that should be included with retail version of the game, then definitely wait for a bundle that contains all the expansions in a year or two.
Overall, I would give this game a 3/5 stars.

2) A solidly 3-star experience - Destiny has some pretty big shoes to fill. With it's pedigree consisting of Bungie, the team behind the cultural monolith that is the Halo series, along with Activision pouring upwards of $500 million dollars into advertising, it's tough to remove one's self from the sheer hype surrounding the title. Can destiny possibly deliver on that hype?

The short answer is no. If you come into the experience hoping it will be the next halo, you'll be sorely disappointed.

That's not to say Destiny is a bad game by any means. The gunplay is solid and the art direction is wonderful. Unfortunately though, I don't foresee this game having much staying power beyond a weekend or two, as there simply isn't enough substance here to really push you to play beyond those initial 20 hours or so.

For starters, there isn't much respite from the incredibly repetitive missions. Pretty much every mission involves touching down on a planet, walking or riding to a instanced area, and then slowly pushing forward through waves of samey enemies until you reach a waypoint, where you hold down a button and your "ghost" companion gives you some vague or nonsensical plot information entirely through speech. At which point, you return to your ship so you can do it all again (But not before sitting through up to a full minute of loading screens). I've played for 20 hours so far and I have yet to play through a mission that deviates from this structure.

The levels themselves are beautiful and wide open, and you can often find loot boxes in little alcoves off the beaten path, so traversing them can actually be quite fun. Unfortunately you'll be visiting the same ones over and over and over again. The landscapes are otherwise fairly sparse of actual gameplay, besides the occasional firefight, so revisiting the areas often leads to them feeling rather lifeless once you peel back the beautiful exterior.

This is all tolerable when you are playing with friends, as the game encourages you have 2 other people in your fire-team. But if you are alone, the completely milquetoast missions and sparse gameplay will start to grind on you and you'll likely lose interest fast.

Speaking of multiplayer, it can be a bit of a mixed bag. There isn't really any sort of chat outside the 3 people in your fireteam, which is somewhat puzzling considering the obvious multiplayer focus. There also doesn't seem to be any sort of matchmaking for those who only want to play PVP, which is a bit surprising considering this is the team that made Halo for crying out loud.

I've been focusing on the negatives in this review, and that may not be entirely fair. The gunplay is actually very satisfying and the sound design is superb. Everything just feels right and has the appropriate impact. If you can get a group of 3 people together to romp through some missions and then get a group together to play some PvP, there is certainly a satisfying experience to be had here. If you're just looking for a good FPS multiplayer experience to break in your PS4 at a time where there isn't that much of a selection, I have no reservations recommending Destiny, because it is actually a solid title with a lot of graphical and gameplay polish.

But if you're coming at the game expecting it to be the next Halo, or are planning on playing it alone, I'd say this is safe to pass on.

1) Very Fun Fast Paced Galaga Like Game - Intro:

Resogun is a PlayStation 4 exclusive indie game developed by Housemarque; the same developer who made Super Stardust HD. It is considered a side scrolling shoot ‘em up game and was released on November 15th in North America. It was released as one of the two free PlayStation Plus games at the launch of the PlayStation 4.

Story:

At first I was not going to write about the story in this game because there really isn’t one to write about. I was wrong though, you need to know the premise of the story and why you’re doing what you’re doing. You are a space ship in space trying to save humans from aliens: plain and simple. Let’s move on.

Presentation:

Resogun is VERY pretty. There are flashing bright colors all over the screen throughout the entire game; which makes for quite the fireworks show. The graphics are so pretty in fact that they can become distracting. There are space ships, lasers, and fireballs all over the screen that are all beautiful, but it is easy to get lost on the screen with the cluster of space debris. This, however, is the nature of a space shoot ‘em up game and does not take away from its appeal. One of the most impressive parts of Resogun’s presentation was the fact that it uses the speaker on the controller to announce when things are happening in the game, such as what power-up you picked up or if “Keepers” have entered the battle. This in itself is nothing significant, but it shows off what the PlayStation 4 can do and it wowed me the first time I heard it.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is what the entire experience is all about. It is a very addictive “twin stick shooter” game. You use one stick to fly up and down and the other to shoot your lasers at the enemies. You also have bombs that can destroy everything on the screen and a special laser as well that destroys everything it hits instantly. Your ship has the ability to dash forward and run into enemies to kill them as well. These are just the shooter mechanics. You also are tasked with saving the little green humans on the screen which is really fun on its own. After killing Keepers, a human will be released from their cell and you have to go and pick them up and take them to a green tractor beam at the top of the screen. This is entertaining to do while trying to avoid and shoot all of the enemies surrounding you. There are weapon upgrades that will fall from the top periodically that will allow your lasers to get bigger and stronger. Another part of the game that makes it so fun is the points multiplier. If you combo enough kills you will continually add to your multiplier and rack up points much faster. This allows you to set huge high scores and beat all of your friends on the leader boards. Speaking of the leader boards, you can see where you are ranked in the world on them very easily. This game can also be played multiplayer with your friends over PlayStation Network; probably local as well but I couldn’t test that.

The Verdict: 8.5 out of 10

This is not a game for everyone. It is one of those silly fast paced arcade like shooters that can be addictive to the right person. I found it very fun to just destroy aliens and watch the pretty explosions while trying to save all of the humans. It becomes even more fun when playing it with your friends to try and beat levels faster and get more points. It is a very short game; you can probably beat it in an hour depending on the difficulty you play on, but it has a ton of replayability with all of the difficulties and leader boards. If you’re into arcade space shooters, I highly recommend getting this game, especially since it’s free on PlayStation Plus right now!

2) Donwload this game it's free - Downloaded it for free with my PSN Plus 30 day trial that came with my PS4. And i can say that this game even though its free looks amazing. They did a great job on the gameplay and more importantly this game takes advanatge of the PS4's tremendous capability. I have never seen console graphics look this vibrant and crisp. Resogun's gameplay is really simple shoot the enemeis and save the humans, and even though this game is short (i think only 5 levels iam not sure) it does offer a decent challenge and gives you tons of fun. If your a fan of old school side scrolling shooters like in the old NES or SNES Resogun is definitely for you. So if your like me who's still waiting for the good games to release next year (i have my PS4 now for about a week and still haven't bought any games for it), i suggest you download Resogun to fill the void from now till the good games comes out next year.

2)A Great Game - My interest in this game was triggered by watching a high schooler play this on his laptop. I was immediately compelled by the sort of game I never realized could be popular in the new-fangled era of overly violent or else overly character-less games.

This, my friends, is an addictive game with a new atmosphere to it that's unlike anthing I've been aware of. One thing I love about this game is its customization- I could chose Wilson for better winter survival, Woodie for a constant tool, etc. and I could add and reduce monsters and resources. Another thing I love is how each character has their own set of interesting and funny lines for various circumstances and how each one's speech is also represented by a specific instrument.

1) Rayman continues his reign as the King of Color! - Holy macaroni... what a vivid, imaginative, and colorful universe this limbless fellow lives in!

I was a huge fan of Rayman Origins, which was released two years ago. At that time, I considered it to be the best 2D platformer in the history of gaming, and I believe that has remained true - until now. Ubisoft has done gamers everywhere a huge service by improving upon their remarkable formula in every possible way, and delivering a game that's even BETTER than the awesome platformer that is Origins.

Foremost, the visuals of Legends need to be addressed. One of the best things about Origins was that it looked like you were controlling a cartoon, which resulted in terrific animations, slapstick comedy, bizarre spectacles, and OODLES of SMILES. I would have been perfectly happy if this sequel looked exactly like Origins, but somehow the developers have made it look even better. The graphics in this game POP like nothing I've ever seen before, and it looks even more like an animated movie than ever. Graphics generally have little to do with actual gameplay, but in the case of the Rayman games, their whimsical presentation has a direct correlation with the end result (that being fun, laughter, and wonder), so they do have a big impact here. This game is a visual treat, and I predict that it will be impervious to the "aging" that most games suffer from, because the art direction is so marvelously realized.

Though Legends' graphics may make this game look a tad childish, do not be deceived - this is a meticulously designed platformer that offers tremendous challenges. Furthermore, if you study the layout of the levels and practice, you will discover that there is an incredible amount of sophistication here. As far as I can tell, EVERY level can be played in one swift movement, with no hesitation whatsoever - if you have the skill to memorize the patterns and the reflexes to guide you (which comes in handy when attempting to complete time challenges). I am blown away by the amount of care that the designers put into this game. I don't see any "shortcuts" or evidence of "going through the motions" to fill out content.

And on the subject of content, there is a staggering amount here. The campaign alone is very long, particularly for a 2D platformer, but what makes the game infinitely larger is the amount of additional challenges and collectibles. Multiplayer is also a blast, and I can have fun playing Legends with less experienced gamers. Though it is far harder to complete challenges when I have other gamers along for the ride, that's not what it's about - it's about having fun and watching Rayman and Globox slap each other silly.

It bears mentioning that you can have anybody play this game with you, from a five-year-old to your granny. There is no violence other than the "cartoon" variety, and it's a huge departure from the glut of ultra-violent titles that have saturated the market in recent years. To me, this is a wonderful, beautiful break from the norm. No longer do you have to worry about "headshots" and the other staples of the shooter genre, but you can focus on the types of things that made us enjoy games when we were younger: a sense of wonder, whimsy, and the relentless pursuit of fun.

There is one trophy that is particularly difficult to get, and you need to have PSN friends playing it and competing on the Daily/Weekly Challenges. 2) Previously owned on PS3...now I have it on PS4 - I previously reviewed this product on the PS3 (my original review is copied below) and decided to get it on the PS4. For those of you who have it on the PS3 and are wondering if you want to get it on the PS4, is it worth the change?

The quick answer is no. You won't see any enhancements or graphical upgrades or functional differences between the 2 versions. The only significant advantage that I can report on is that the load times are considerably snappier on the more powerful platform. That said, Rayman Legends is still eye-candy and the animation is simply stunning regardless of which console you get it on.

If you were on the fence before and haven't picked it up yet, picking it up at its release price of just under 40 dollars is well worth it and you should read my original review below.

[Original Review From PS3 Version]

My daughter and I are quite familiar with platformers in general. In fact, we have been a daddy-daughter team ever since she first played with me on Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. We have also played Super Mario Bros. Wii and others as well.

When I first picked up Rayman Origins (which precedes this title), I knew very little about Rayman in general. I picked up Rayman Origins for $19.99 as a Xmas present. Little did I know what a hit it would be with BOTH of us.

Rayman Legends follows in the same vein as our main, limbless protagonist, Rayman, is once again awakened to rescue the lumas and teensies from the denizens of a multitude of evil characters. Rayman will need to jump, sprint, "float" (his ears will whip around like a helicopter), and punch his way to victory. What makes the game even more fun is the ability to have up to 4 people play co-op at the same time, albeit only on the same console. It's still sad that online support is inexplicably absent and it would have certainly encouraged other family members in other cities to purchase it and join in on the fun. However, it's still an absolute blast.

If you loved Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends will stagger you. The sheer volume of unlockable content that is available will ensure the longevity of this title, especially for completionists like me. However, like Origins, if you're into it just to beat the "main storyline", so to speak, the game does cater to that level of satisfaction for those of use who don't have the cat-like alacrity to nail every jump perfectly. It's a game that can be enjoyed from both beginners to experts alike, and comical for all.

Special mention should be made to the art direction and music. Rayman Origins had beautiful visuals and Legends (despite being released almost on the heels of Origins) does not fail to disappoint either; I'd almost say that it exceeds Origins if it were possible. I love how level design has moved away from an almost Mario-like stage progression map to a gallery of artwork that your character(s) hop into to get to the levels that you'll play. The music fits the level designs perfectly and the cartoon-like artwork in each level is extremely fluid with no discernible framerate hiccups. It's flawless as a platformer could possibly get and I can't spot a single element in this game that didn't appear to have a great deal of love and attention. The same goes for the level design - everything that can be unlocked in the game is achievable without a single item feeling like a "cheat". Truthfully, some areas require a significant amount of skill, but it's skill nonetheless--not poor level design--that will be your only hindrance for getting EVERYTHING.

Rayman Legends is one of the few platformers out there that are worthy of the full MSRP release value. While the online component is still sadly missing, there is still plenty of side-splitting, couch-sharing fun to be had here.

1) NBA 2K15 is a great all-around product hampered by server problems. - NBA 2K15 is an impressive all-around product. There is a ton of content within, a lot of work has been done to the various modes, and gameplay and presentation remain strong. It's unfortunate then that once again 2K is plagued by server-related issues and with them having created what is largely an "always-online" game it's continued reason for concern.

MyCareer - Still my personal favorite mode in the game, it's compelling even though the story is silly, you're forced to be a guy who's a jackass, and the voice acting is atrocious. I still keep going back to it regardless. This time around the story is based on being an undrafted free agent fighting for a spot on the rosters and working your way up in the league. Conceptually it's strong but also makes you think they went this way because your player starts lower rated and with less playing time so you'll want to spend money on VC to compensate. Having a practice gym to shoot in and the new way of upgrading attributes are positive changes.

Face Scan - This is the most infuriating feature I've ever attempted to use in a sports game and after nearly an hour of trying to complete it I've just given up. It has worked for some people, so it's not "broken" necessarily, but it hasn't worked well (see all the alien looking scans out there) or at all for many others. Considering some bought a camera just for this purpose or had it as their most anticipated feature of the game this year, that's a huge problem.

MyPark - This is a great concept for online but the servers and other issues (like standing around in "Got Next" and even getting stuck there and having to restart the game completely) makes it a rough experience for now. It has a lot of potential though.

MyGM and MyLeague - Good options for fans of franchise modes. MyLeague is all offline so the servers can't impact it. MyGM like MyCareer has the VC ties to the server so a connection is required to make any progress.

MyTeam - The servers for MyTeam have been down almost completely since release. Some have squeezed in at times but also found their progress completely wiped out after server crashes.

Gameplay/Presentation - Nothing too dramatic in limited standard games so far different from last year. It's still top of its class in both regards in the genre, though commentary has lagged a bit and isn't improved over last year (especially since Steve Kerr is still in the booth). A new shot meter has gotten mostly positive response from the community.

Reduction of VC - One of the big takeaways from NBA 2K14 for 2K was they had to draw back on their invasive implementation of VC. So there's now the MyLeague mode which doesn't involve it and the pressure in other areas to spend money just to play the way you want has been reduced. Still VC is the majority of the game is "always-online" and may be the culprit behind much of the server issues. Consider just how often the servers are pinged by millions of people earning and spending VC constantly.

Right now though it would be difficult to give a flat out recommendation for this game. Until the server situation clears up, which with 2K14 never completely happened so it's not something that should just be assumed will take place soon or guaranteed to happen at all, it's a great game that isn't always available for you to play when and how you want - and that's what makes it most frustrating. That great game is just out of reach.

2) They say simplicity is genius... - Flower is an absolutely gorgeous game that my wife and I both enjoyed a lot. There is an emotional depth to this game that I have rarely experienced. Between the music, the sound effects, and the graphics, the experience is wonderful. The graphics are really nice, and the controls are super simple.

2) This is what the gaming industry needs to be - This game is the perfect example of what the gaming industry needs to be. Right off the bat there is no MP in the game...Now I'm not saying I'm against MP but some games just don't need MP like Fallout, Skyrim, other RPG's and this game.

This is a heavy single player experience and I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! I'm a huge Fallout fan and while this is no Fallout it will definitely scratch that itch. Two games on one disc adds up to a incredible value and IMO every ps4 owner should have this game in their collection.

I have never played the Metro series before although I really wanted to but did not have a 360 to play 2033 and later did not want to start with Last Light on ps3 without playing 2033. This redux saved me from both problems and the fact that it was also the best versions of the games with all dlc is crazy amazing.

Within the first few minutes I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere, the music, the narration, the Russian accents, the dark environments, the suspense, the fear, the need for survival and on and on and on...all this creates some of the best immersion in video gaming period. The metro itself is a character in the game I feel...a very important one in that as well, the metro can be scary and dark yet at times its soothing and comforting in the context of the situation. The scenario in these games is not unbelievable either...people trying to live in this post apocalyptic world. You will see kids/people begging for bullets(the currency in game), people talking about their problems or loss of loved ones, merchants selling things and trying to run their businesses, THAT AMAZING GUITAR TUNE...all this will make you feel a part of the world in a very big way and not many video games can get the player to feel as such. For the immersion alone this redux is worth the money and 5/5 stars.

The story is interesting too. Some reviews said it starts slow then picks up but I was gripped as soon as I heard the first narrative, I do admit that it gets better but it was not sluggish/slow to me at least. The weapons, looting, customization and everything was as expected and adds some minor rpg elements. Its not as detailed as Fallout but that's fine because Metro is its own game and in a very good way. The controls all work as they should and the best part is that 2033 uses Last Light's controls, because of this both games are smooth to play.

Overall this collection of the Metro games needs to be in every gamer's collection. This game is what the gaming industry needs to be. I understand MP is important to people but single player needs to be as well. Don't get me wrong, if you enjoy COD or Battlefield with their yearly installments that's fine...BUT when companies can get away with selling unfinished/broken/buggy games then I have a problem. Metro Redux is everything I look for in a game. Story, gameplay, heavy single player focus and tons of content. Oh and a challenge too. Metro is a great challenge but not in a annoying way more in a "I got this" or "One More Time" way. I highly recommend Metro Redux to all kinds of gamers because it is a great experience and will stay with you like it will for me. The gaming industry needs more games like Metro Redux in different genres as well. Game On!!

1) A classic - If you're reading this review, you may be under the impression that I'm trying to oversell it. Perhaps I am. It doesn't matter; this game deserves it. Hands down, I have never seen a more beautiful and challenging game. Every scene is a postcard. The music is so perfect you think they chose the playlist first and worked the game aronud it. It made me laugh, though the humor is wry and subtle and may be hard to appreciate. It made my eyes water, though there's no heavy-handed sentimentality. You'll fall in love with the characters, whose voices are perfect. When something goes wrong in the story, you'll feel genuine delight or devastating depression, depending on the situation. Lucasarts could easily have made a movie based on the interesting characters and elaborate cutscenes alone. (And, for my money, I hope they do...)

The game is not perfect, but in an industry fixated on violent first-person shooters and manufactured WarCraft clones, Grim Fandango is a welcome breath of fresh air. They say the adventure game is dead; this is proof to the opposite. It is a disappointment that the game sold poorly, because it's just this kind of game that makes me glad I own a computer.

2)Buenos dias! - I don't go for adventure games, personally. Ninety percent of the time, I prefer shooters. But this one...man, it's so weird, so unique, and so GENIUS through and through, how can you not love it?

Here's the story. Manny Calavera is a low-level salesman trying to earn an honest commission and make a decent day's pay, but it never seems to work out for him. His boss is constantly on his back, he's routinely snaked by a competitor, Domino Hurley, and the right sales never come his way. It's a lousy life to have.

Especially if you're already dead.

That's the twist; Manny, and just about everyone else in the game, is dead. This whole game takes place in the Land of the Dead of Mexican/Aztec folklore, with a strong Art Deco influence, with heavy doses of '30s crime noir thrown in. Everyone in the game is fashioned to look like the sugar skeletons used in Day of the Dead festivals (called 'calaveras'; get it?).

Manny works in the Department of Death, trying to work off his time for his misdeeds when he was alive. He does that by trying to sell 'travel packages' to the recently deceased, so they can make their four-year journey across the Land of the Dead, until they reach the portal leading to the Land of Eternal Rest. The quality of life this person lived determines whether they get to use a car, a luxury liner, or the exclusive No. 9 train, which speeds its passengers there in four minutes, instead of the customary four years.

Unfortunately, the kind of lowlifes who keep coming Manny's way only deserve walking sticks at best, which does absolutely nothing to help Manny work off his time. So, he decides to take matters into his own hands and STEAL the right kind of client.

And that's when he gets in over his head.

The story is pure crime noir with a technicolor twist, like Raymond Chandler meets Tim Burton. The plot Manny uncovers is convoluted, brilliant, deeply twisted, and diabolical like you've never imagined possible. It's also incredibly, unspeakably funny. Tim Schaefer is one absurd individual, make no mistake.

Yes, it's an old game, I know. But the true classics know no age, and this is a classic all right. So take advantage of the price, snap it up, and book a trip with your new favorite travel agent. He's waiting for you...

2)this game is far better than i expected far better - this game is far better than i expected far better! i came from WoW and honestly i cannot see myself going back ever, it is definately a grindfest and not for everyone BUT there is always something to do if you are leveling your class as a disciple of war or magic then you can level your profession and if i remember right you can just go purely crafting though that would be more tedious and time consuming so they do mix some things up and get you out into combat BUT it can still be done! players are of a much more helpful sort than any MMO i have experienced and definately better than WoW.......all in all i am greatly overjoyed with the game and will try and steer every MMO player i come across in its direction.

1) You'll Love It - I got DriveClub on 12/6 so my experience with it has been a lot different than those who played it at launch. I created a club right of the bat and have had online races and completed challenges over the network without issues. I've read that it still isn't working perfectly for all players, but the problems are much, much less prevalent.

The driving experience itself is right up my alley. I'm a player who has never been able to get really into simulation racers, as I always want to have a little more fun than real-life physics allows. DriveClub provides that realism aspect in the visual fidelity and the environmental effects, but the handling itself is still arcadey enough to have the fun factor.

The visuals in this game are truly something we've never seen before. The sound and sights as you're racing downhill are enough to make your heart race- the sense of speed here is unmatched. Weather was just added to the game (http://a.pomf.se/dwgknv.gif) and it's a whole additional element to the race experience. Heavy rain at night obscures your vision in the cockpit & dashboard views, with rain droplets moving around the wildshield appropriately with the force of the car. The wiper blades leave mild streaks behind as they push the rain away, just as in real life. Make sure you download the latest patch to take advantage of this highlight of the game.

2) A Gorgeous and Symphonic Meditation - I only play single player, in car games. Sometimes multi-player, but my heart is with single player.

So. As such, this game delivers in a number of Spades.

It is beautiful, you can control weather and time, and from the get-go you have access to a crap-load of tracks.

They allowed a type of openness that lets you use the same car to explore numerous environments, or, in one environment to explore numerous cars. And at the same time explore that same environment at different times of day and with different weather.

This sort of flexibility is part of why this game is so lovely.

You say, I want to drive *this* car in *this* environment, with *this* weather at *this* time of day.

And this thing delivers in a way that Gran Turismo, Forza, and Horizon, do not. Horizon 2 meets that to a similar degree-- only it's not nearly as pretty or realistic, it does not sound as good, and it has different physics.

If you want a meditative experience where you get behind the wheel and in the seat of a beautiful car, and you get to drive it in a place that is at the time you want it and where you want it, and sounds like you're in that place-- this game hits it the best, of all of them, at this time.

We can go to the others for meditation too, and we do-- but I always come back to this game, also.

I turn the music off, and it lets me. It has numerous, gorgeous camera views while you're driving: everything from a realistic hood to a "post-steering wheel" version that is more similar to driving the real car. And the sounds are recorded by professional audio engineers, not like this jokers at Forza who put reverb on everything. And as we know Gran Turismo is hit-and-miss with sounds.

So the sound recording is the best of any driving game on console. You have inside recordings and outside, and they were recorded dry, not like the Forza people who continue to record their samples with reverberation because they're recording in a closed space. Foolish. Thank God for Drive Club.

And the weather, tires, all that sounds great.

The cars drive great, only problem they seem to all be like European and there are no classics like Muscle. I actually question whether the restricted physics model would even allow a more "lugubrious" car such as something with floppy suspension. Every car on here is tight, but they're all modern-- another failing of this title, but then again-- you're just in a modern museum, deal with it/etc.

The game has a 'look ahead' feature that you can turn off, it's not unlike that used in Shift 2. Makes the driving much more realistic, but at first you'll be turning too soon, if you're used to Forza and Gran Turismo. Still, I think it's a wonderful feature and adds to the ease with which we can actually drive and race, feel the suspension, feel the tires' grip, hear it, and all through using a controller.

I could go on, but another thing is that the steering depiction is remarkably realistic, even in real-time.

And when you're racing and those cars are in front of you, there's an odd symphony going on where you don't care if you're 7th. You're in a beautiful space in a gorgeous piece of kit, and you're getting to experience this tool/museum in such a way that you are buoyed by it's art.
