When I came home after a long day ...My Mom rushed and said "U know what Zia has done today? "

Me: Did she again chew another pair of slip-ons..??
Mom: No ... She ate two ELEPHANTS

Me:WT........

Me : ELEPHANTS!!!!!!!!! How can this little female eat two Giant Elephants and where did Elephants come from?

Mom: They were in my room....She did eat their kids too ....

Me: How can she eat Elephants??? ..What are you talking about??? and How did Elephants come to your room...( I JUST COULDN'T IMAGINE HER DOING ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN MY WEIRDEST DREAMS )

Mom : She pulled them from above and chewed ..Wait! let me show you what exactly she has done ....
( WAS TOTALLY BEWILDERED...... ALTHOUGH I DID HEAR THAT A LAB CAN PULL ENGINES BUT HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS.....I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS DEALING WITH).

But then My dear cutest Mom came up with Dead Elephants and their Kids

Phewwww! ....I was So relieved after seeing these Dead Elephants .They were the ones carved from wood that we got from Jaisalmer, India.

Oh wait ...I just realized i never did mention who Zia is

A Ride Back Home

It was my second day at office and it was quite late at night when my boss told me that he would give a ride back to home .

A very simple , sensible , hardworking man by nature , He was happily married and blessed with two lovely daughters and started telling me about his family back in India.

He came from a middle class family with 2 brothers .Both of his brothers were a year or two apart and had opted for higher studies after their under graduation.

With the thought of supporting his father financially, Satya(the youngest one and my Boss ) started looking for jobs. Being one of the brightest students in his college he would clear every possible technical round with flying colors but would end up getting rejections because of the fact that he graduated from an university which ranked below average. After the series of rejections, totally disheartened and disappointed he burst into tears before his brother. It was then, when his brother told him that he still had time to apply for the Masters Program at one the top most colleges in India, BITS PILANI. Considering his brothers advice he rushed with application procedures at the last hour.

There were five to six rounds of screening for the program. He said, “On the day of the result I was sleeping because I knew that I won’t be shortlist” .A friend came running and woke him up with news that he was one among the 14 members who made it to Masters Program. He never expected of getting shortlisted from around 500 members from all around the India.

He also told me, how apprehensive and introvert he was back in college. He would not even know how to order for food in restaurant, Even if he was starving to death ”. He was so skittish and would always fear as to what others might think about him.

And then came a Girl who changed everything. She was one among his friends who has been noticing his low self esteem and lack of self confidence and has confronted him with his problem .She motivated him, boosted his confidence at every level and made conquer all his shortcomings on every occasion and told him that it’s ok to put up what in his mind.”I started speaking up in public for the first time, gave all my presentations without any hesitation, actually there was a bit of hesitation initially”-Satya said.

“she knew that I was totally smitten by her ” I would have never told her .But she confronted me at the very beginning and told me that she already engaged and would not go against her parents wish and will . I still remember she said to me ,She said - “I know what s going on your mind but let’s be good friends ” I didn’t feel bad but feeling a respect cultivated

He said , “It’s just because of her that I have excelled in everything in my life .I was been awarded the best employee at Oracle twice while working for sales team.Do you expect a guy who cannot order for food in restaurant excelled in professionally and personally in everything. Today I have started my own company; I am confident and have loving wife and beautiful daughters and ITS ALL BECAUSE OF HER. ”

Tears rolled down his eyes, “I have no idea where she is”-He said but she was one hell of women who made me what I am and will be always great full to her for this.

I was thinking of what to say, when GPS interrupted- “Your Destination is on the left “

I blabbered something for few seconds which sounded something like” this is life and things like that happens” with the thought of pacifying him. I am usually very bad at such stuff and finally I said -“It was really nice listening to you and Thank you for sharing it with me :) and thanks for the ride “. And he smiled.

A Bit from my Cognition

Sometimes you really don’t want to know where it is leading to. Sometimes you really don’t even want to know where it started and what’s on the other end? Life would be much better if we stay between the two ends of a bridge. From very childhood, we usually try to conclude things as soon as they started or even before they ever started, always striving to reach other side of the bridge. But never thought that we were rather missing the pleasant journey towards the other side of the bridge. There are chances when you would not even reach other end .The inquisitive human nature which always wants to know “What Next” but somehow misses the intermediate little things in life. Always striving to be at the first place, there will times when many of us will miss gazing at the night sky and the hanging glitters for months. Malcolm Margolin said "The next time it begins to rain... lie down on your belly, nestle your chin into the grass, and get a frog's-eye view of how raindrops fall... The sight of hundreds of blades of grass bowing down and popping back up like piano keys strikes me as one of the merriest sights in the world."

Best Compliment

My Mom was always unsatisfied with all the facial features God has gifted me. She has very stunning set of eyes and she always wanted me to inherit her features especially her eyes. Almost twice or thrice a day I use to hear "Raja, you really have little eyes, you would have looked better if you would have inherited my set of eyes". Hearing the same thing almost every day nullified everything other compliment. I started poking my friends with the question that if I really have very small eyes like that of rat. Unaware of the context of the question their answers were something from nice to beautiful.

Years passed by and was still hearing the same thing until one day when everything changed. Since I was poor at Mathematics, my parents decided to send me to extra classes to the most scary and iron-fisted teacher Mrs. Pal. I was scared to death to attend her classes. On the first day which later on proved to be the most memorable day, was asked to sit beside her. She took my notebook wrote a question for me to solve. Was all set to give a never ending impression of the most intelligent student in the batch by solving the given question in no time and totally overlooked the blunder of taking 3, instead of 2. Ma'am, I solved the question, she turned towards me and asked me to show the solution. While she was busy looking at the solution for few seconds, I noticed the changes in her expression and realized that the solution was erroneous. Suddenly a horn poked out of her head, her nails grew long and eyeballs popped out. She threw the notebook on the floor and said, Lalita God gave you two LARGE EYES like that of a Tarsier Monkey and still you fail differentiate between the numbers 2 and 3. The very next moment Single Horned Monster turned into a fairy. Her words were like Cadbury's Dairy milk. Since, that very day she is one of my top Favorite teachers in the school and I continued her Mathematics classes throughout my high school.

I still love her :D
