Miscreants are exploiting interest in the season finale of Doctor Who by posting fake episode clips, spoilers and dubious download offers.

Credulous fans who follow links supposedly offering footage from the upcoming Big Bang episode, due to screen on BBC on Saturday (26 June), are invited to fill out a quiz in order to "unlock the content". Of course there is no content on offer, and by completing the quiz fans will simply wind up scoring the scammers some affiliate revenue, while handing over personal information to unscrupulous marketeers.

Every major enemy of the Time Lord will make an appearance in the finale of this series of Doctor Who.
In a terrifying two part programme - entitled The Pandorica Opens - the Doctor will be confronted by many of his old foes.
The Daleks, Cybermen, Silurians, Judoon, Sontarans, Sycorax, Weevils and Autons, will all feature in the final show.

Doctor Who star Matt Smith has revealed he was so nervous about taking on the TV role he had to phone his family in Northamptonshire for constant reassurances he was up to the job.
The former Northampton School for Boys pupil will star in the first episode of the show's two-part finale on BBC1 on Saturday night.

Neil Gaiman has confirmed that he has completed writing a draft script for the next series of Doctor Who.

The author told his Twitter followers that he would now continue to work on an adaptation of his own 2005 novel Anansi Boys.

In the night before we meet, John Simm had caught the Tube home after the curtain came down on Speaking in Tongues, the West End show he’s been starring in for the past three months. He has been doing this throughout the run. He pulls his cap down over his face, sticks his nose in a book and no one ever bothers him. Until last night, that is.

'This woman came and sat next to me,’ he says. 'I realised she’d followed me from the theatre. It turned out she’d come from Vienna and she had been to see the show four times. She just sat there staring at me. I had to jump out of the train at Euston and try to lose her, but she jumped out too. I lost her in the end, but it was just ridiculous. And unnerving, you know.’

British audiences will get to watch it in just a couple weeks, but American audiences will only have to wait a month to see the "Doctor Who" special "The Waters Of Mars."

It will air on BBC America on Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. ET, starring David Tennant and British stage and screen actress Lindsay Duncan, who has appeared in shows such as "Rome." Duncan plays Adelaide, who BBC describes as The Doctor's "cleverest and most strong-minded companion."

Matt Smith, who replaces David Tennant as Doctor Who, has been hailed as the best time lord yet by Steven Moffat, the head writer of the 2010 series.

Smith will become the eleventh actor to appear as the doctor on television when the latest series of the popular show is aired on BBC next year.

Filming for the latest instalment of the time lord's adventures began in July with Smith, 27, becoming the youngest actor ever to play the lead role of the 900-year-old doctor.

The tardis, the doctor's time-travel device, has also been given a new look for this series, and will appear more like the version from the Doctor Who films, starring Peter Cushing.

David Tennant declares himself 'jealous' of Doctor Who successor Matt Smith – and reveals his final lines in role

David Tennant today admitted that filming his final scenes for Doctor Who had been "very emotional" – and revealed what his final lines in the lead role will be.

Tennant also admitted he was "jealous" of Matt Smith, who will be seen taking over his role as the Doctor next year.

He was speaking at the London launch of The Waters of Mars, the first of three remaining Doctor Who specials to be broadcast on BBC1 before the end of the year. They are a swansong for Tennant, after four years in the lead role, and for Russell T Davies, the executive producer and showrunner responsible for Doctor Who's hugely successful reinvention.

Paul McGann, the former Doctor Who star, says he has given up hope of taking part in a rumoured reunion of actors who have played the Time Lord.

He said he had no expectations of ever returning to the role and claimed he has had no contact with the BBC since he left the set of a one-off TV movie in 1996 in which he made his only appearance.

There have been reports that the past Who actors were being rounded up for a Children In need special, but McGann doubted he would ever return to the role.
