Junk Journal Theme Ideas. Hi reader, welcome again! In my previous blog post, I had promised you to share the name of the themes for junk journal I have collected so far. Hopefully, these will be of some help if you are a newbie or an experienced hand as well. I have never made a theme-based junk journal, but I intend to do some of course.

You can find more than 100 themes up there. You may club two or three themes at a time also, e.g., vintage+library+books or maps+nautical etc.

Apart from these, you can also create a colour themed junk journal. Some popular inspirations are sepia, all white, blue-yellow, blue-orange, shades of green, pastel, black-red, black-gold, metallic, monochromatic, yellow-purple, shades of brown and many more.

How to choose colours for a junk journal?

Please go through the colour wheel first - The colour wheel was invented by Issac Newton in 1666. It is basically a circle with colour spectrums and shows the relationship between colours.
Try to pick a colour and a compatible theme together - for example, if you choose the theme ‘Gothic’ then your journal has to be decorated with red and black colours with images and fabrics or other things.
It is not necessary to bind yourself in a few colours. You can go straight to the rainbow theme.
At times you can pick more than two colours or shades of one particular colour. My recent project is going to be a collage of blue-yellow-brown. I am not the one who would stick to themes so this is going to be a challenge for me.

Why choose a theme?

Simplicity - obviously some people love to go random because picking a theme and sticking to it is tough at times. You need to sort out all the theme-based items first. In the meantime, if you can't find a needed one you may be stuck at that place with an unfinished project, which I think is ridiculous enough for a beginner. So if you want to know my suggestion, please pick more than one project at a time and go for it. It will serve major joy for being involved always and you will be free from being stumped. But as Leonardo da Vinci emphasized that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, so you should probably take his words for granted.
Easier to pick - if you have decided your theme already then it will be much easier to pick the necessary pieces or scraps or paints. Suppose you think of your junk journal theme as buddha, then you would pick mostly the elements related to him. You may include buddha pictures, printouts with his teachings, some cards you may have collected while travelling or paint something by getting inspiration from Google or Pinterest images. You will be free from unnecessary junk.

Finally, for making a theme-based junk journal it's always up to you with respect to what you finally want to create, because, in this world, you are the only creator, destroyer and whatever (mostly creator). I am not advocating to choose a theme always but you may consider at least for once as a beginner as it may suit you. You'll never know before you try. So my advice is to consider some easy topics for your next junk journal, like roses or butterflies, or going for a vintage looking journal based on sepia tones. Junk Journal With Me: Hello there! Welcome to my blog. This blog was created long back but has rarely been used since creation. Of late I had been thinking of restarting this blog; this time with junk journal. Journaling has been my childhood passion. Those old books in my childhood used to be full of childish arts and crafts. I did not know they actually bore a name. In fact, I had no idea about the word ‘junk journal until a few months ago. One day I was randomly searching YouTube for ‘notebook decorations,’ and all of a sudden that particular word caught my attention. I began researching on it, and with time I became more and more addicted so much so, that I began to forget to watch the long list of movies and web series. So,

What s a junk journal? Why it is so-called?

There is no proper definition of a junk journal. Really. So let us give it one. A junk journal is a journal, as the name suggests, or notebook that is stashed with junkies. However, that does not define all of it. So let us try another one. A recycled handmade diary containing one or more signatures, and with loads of crafts created with mixed media which may be used for various purposes is called a junk journal. In a broader sense, apart from just journaling, it serves infinite purposes according to our intentions.

What is my background for journaling?

When I first began to dabble in junk journal, it was like haphazard puzzle to me, but amazing at the same time. There were so many things that I at once wanted to put down at one place. The situation became overwhelming. At that time I had no real idea of what should I keep to recreate, and what to be consigned to the bin. There were so many new words for me - ephemera, embellishments etc. I found people buying stuff for this purpose. I had no extra penny for that. It made me sad. To cut a long story short, I have been trying to become self-sufficient with what I have, and today, here I have come to share all those that I have learnt. My father is an artist and I think it’s the artsy DNA that drew my attention towards this junky world, considering the fact that I am from India, and that about 99.99% of the population here has no idea about what junk journal is all about. I am sure of that. Therefore, I shall be pleased if my words can inspire anyone out there, and prepare her/him to create a junk journal of his/her own, as it has so many facets and because everybody can be an artist. Nothing can go wrong in the endeavour of creating a junk journal.

Why should one create a junk journal?

1. To recycle and make your tiny world beautiful - this phrase may contain a deep message. It is a fact that we, the people from a developing or an under-developed country do not really care to keep our environment clean and safe. We throw polythene wraps on the road, spit on the wall, dump our daily garbage anywhere without conscience; the list just goes on. If we all try to reuse some of the items before dumping them in the bin, that would be good. Mere scraps won’t fetch a price in the market, but that recycled piece, exhibiting the artistic reflection of us may find buyers.

2. To keep things in order - have you ever seen your closet? So many clothes just sit inside for years; clothes that we hardly wear. Yet we don’t intend to give them away. Old magazines and books half-eaten by termites; used buttons, threads, wools, beads, worn out pieces of imitation jewellery, zippers, wires, laces, cards, scrapbook pages, envelops, vintage school notebooks, grocery slips, bags and purses! We can use all these and jot down our memories in a tidy way.

3. It’s fun and your parents never gonna yell at you for making a mess - Most importantly, those who are my type and always get rebuked for making a tidy mess can give the excuse for making a journal by showing how important these things are. Added to this is the huge fun of doing a journal. It is time killing; all the boredom vanishes instantly, and more specifically it is the reflection of ourselves “because, in the end, you’re all you got”.

4. Budget-friendly - And it is obvious. As we are creating something with scraps, glue, pen, colour, thread, needle and scissors, we do not need to spend on anything except time. Of course, there are supplies, which we can grab from the stores, but trust me, as a beginner we don’t have to spend money on that. We can recreate all the things we need. I am very much addicted to junk journals and most of the things I make myself if you ask me.

What to write? What to do with it?

The next big question arises that what is the purposes of making this type of journal. Well, as I have already told, it has many facets. A junk journal can be used in as many ways as we can think of - as a simple journal (i.e. diary) with more graphics, colours and tags, or as a themed notebook for travel logs, planners, recipes etc. It can also be a gift as a gorgeous piece of art. Alternatively, we can even sell it. Therefore, it depends entirely on us what do we intend to do with it. And the best part probably is that we don’t need to follow any guidelines. In this magic world, everything is beautiful so long it soothes our eyes and soul. It will be our treasure book. It is totally up to us how we want to make junk journal.

How to fill it?

Many people use it for traditional journaling, though you can choose your own theme. I have found that people are mostly fond of vintage journals; so is I. Tea-dyed or coffee-dyed paper, along with distress colours work great for this purpose. Some all-time favourite themes are gothic, underwater, mermaid, festivals, school, travel, ocean, forest, flowers, birds etc. Some people also like to make a notebook by engaging two or three colours. I wish to create some theme-based junk journals too, and I intend to post all those themes collected by me in the next blog. You see, choosing a theme might be very helpful at times for we can properly gather all the supplies we need from our haphazard junks. It is a good way to organize our ledger, though, for a beginner, it may seem a little tough. Nevertheless, soon I will show you how to make a junk journal along with junk journal page ideas, cover decoration and junk journal supplies. There is a lot more to come. See you soon!

আ মি ও বে লু ন

সেই ছ্যানা আমল থেকেই বেলুন আমার বড্ড ভালো লাগে। বাড়ির পাশে প্রতিবছর চরকের সময় যে মেলাটি বসে, সেখানে বেলুনওলাদের দেখে আমার কিরকম একটা প্রেম পেত ইলাস্টিকের মত। হা পিত্যেস পিচুটি জমা চোখে হাঁ করে তাকিয়ে থাকতাম ওই ফুলো ফুলো রাবার গুলোর দিকে। বেলুনওলা কি মোক্ষম এক একটা ফুঁ মেরে একটানে টানটান বেলুনগুলো তৈরি করে ফেলত, ভাবলেই ভ্যাবলা হয়ে যেতাম। পরে ওরা অবশ্য কোত্থেকে পাম্প দেবার যন্তর গুলো নিয়ে এল, তা অন্য প্রশ্ন। বিষণ্ণ ব্যাপারটা ছিল, আমায় বেলুন কিনতে দেওয়া হত না কোনো এক অজ্ঞাত কারণে। আর যত না পাওয়া যায় তত পেতে চাওয়াটা আসন গেঁড়ে গুছিয়ে বসে মনের কোণে। কত রকমের বেলুন… গোল বেলুন, লম্বা বেলুন, ব্যাঁকা ব্যাঁকা বেলুন, স্পার্ম বেলুন…

ক্যাপ্টেন ভিয়ম ও আমি -

লোকে প্রচুর সিরিয়াল দেখে, আগেও দেখত। আমিও দেখেছি কিন্তু সেই আমলে কোন একটা শেষ করেছি বলে মনে পড়ছে না একমাত্র ক্যাপ্টেন ভিয়ম ছাড়া। “ভি উম বা… ভি ভি ইউম বা… ক্যাপ্টেন ভিয়ম” বলে একটা গম্ভীর শুরু (ঘোড়াড্ডিম কি বলত আজও বুঝিনি)। হয়তো তার পাঁচ মিনিট আগে প্রকৃতির ডাকে সাড়া দিতে গেছি। কোন রকমে ছুঁচিয়ে এক দৌড়ে বোকাবাক্সের সামনে। সেই বাবল্ এ চড়ে আকাশপথে চুকিৎকিৎ বেজায় ভালো লাগত। ঐ বড় বড় গ্যাস বেলুনের মধ্যে নিজেকে ক্যাপ্টেন জেন হয়ে মিলিন্দ সোমানকে বগলদাবা করে কত বেলাট্রিক্স-সিরিয়াস করেছি তার ইয়ত্তা নেই। কিন্তু এসবই গুঢ় মনোজগতের ব্যাপার। তুশ্চু মানবশিশু ধরতাই পাবে না।

কুছ কুছ কাভি নেহি হোতা হ্যায়-

তা এই আ-ডল-এসেন্স সময়ে ভারতভূমির পাড়াঘর কাঁপিয়ে হঠাৎ কালবৈশাখীর মত হাঁইহাঁই এসে পরলো কুছ কুছ হোতা হ্যায়; আর আমাদের নিরীহ কৈশোর কুচ কুচ কেটে বেলুনজগতে প্রবেশিল হৃদয়াকার টকটকে লাল এক বেলুন, যা না পারি মাবাবা’র কাছে চাইতে না পারি ‘ওরে হ্যাট্’ ইগনোর করে পাশ কাটাতে। একেই বেলুনবিদ্রোহ আমাদের পরিবারে জন্মাবধি কু-জেতে তায় প্রেমসমৃদ্ধ বেলুনবায়না। বেলুনের হাওয়া আর আমার পিঠের ছাল একসাথে বেড়িয়ে যাবে। এহেন আমার তৃতীয় ক্রাশ যে কিনা একবছরের মধ্যে আমায় রাস্তায় পাকড়িয়ে প্রপোজ করতে চলেছিল, উক্ত চরকের মেলায় এক বিদঘুটে কাজ করে বসল। বোধকরি পাঁচ টাকা জমিয়ে কিনে ফেলল সেই বিষম বস্তুটি। আর তার আদিখ্যেতা দেখে কে! তেনাদের ছাদে উঠে সে মহাখচ্চর প্যান্টের পিছনে হৃদয়ের সুতো আটকে একঘন্টা আমায় দেখিয়ে দেখিয়ে পায়চারি করল। তা সেই লাঙ্গুললেজপরিক্রমণ হজম করে সন্ধ্যেবেলা নীচে নেমে দেখি আমার জ্যাঠতুতো এক দিদিও ঐ একই জিনিস কিনে এনে তার ঘর আলো করে রেখেছে। বুকের একপাশে চিনচিনে ব্যাথা, অন্যপাশে ঝিনঝিনে ভয় সামলে মায়ের কাছে আবার একপ্রস্থ বায়না করে ফেললাম। মনে আশা, কাল বিকেলে আমিও লেজ লাগিয়ে ছাদে যাব। যদিও মদীয় ভবনে ও বস্তু এল না। অমল বেলুনওলাদের দিকে তাকিয়ে তাকিয়ে আরও চাড্ডি বসন্ত পার করল।

বৃথা চেষ্টা -

ইতিমধ্যে সে প্রেম ঝাড়েবংশে বেড়ে ওঠার আগেই আমি লেজেগোবরে করেছি ও বেচারা প্রেমিকপ্রবর তার বাড়ীতে উত্তম প্যাঁদানি খেয়ে সে বছর ফেল করে মনের দুঃখে পরের বছর অংকে একটি জাঁদরেল নম্বর হাঁকিয়েছে। যদিও আশা ছাড়েনি। কিন্তু সে গল্প থাক। ওখানে বেলুন নেই খুব একটা। মানে থাকলেও অলঙ্কার পদবাচ্য, গোবেচারা বিশেষনমাত্র। অর্থাৎ, তার ফেলের খবর পেয়ে আমার ফ্যান্টাসির বেলুন তৎক্ষণাৎ চুপসে গেছে। ততদিনে বোধহয় আর একটি দুটি নতুন ক্রাশ ও জমা হয়েছে; এবং টাইটানিক ডুবিয়ে লিওনার্দো-প্রেমের ঘোড়া লাগামছেঁড়া দিগবিদিগ দৌড়চ্ছে। আমার একটি মাত্র মামা বিয়ে করেছে ও কোন এক চরকে বনুও জন্মেছে। ও একটু বড় হতে, আমি হাড়হাভাতের মত ওর কাছ থেকে মাঝে মাঝে বেলুন ভিক্ষা করে আনি। আমার পোড়া কপাল, তিনটে আনলে তার মধ্যে দুটো ফুটো বেড়োয়, একটা ফটাস করে ফেটে যায়। কিরে কেটে বলছি, হপ্তা খানেক আগেও আনলাম, সেম ন্যাড়া সেম বেলতলা। কানা মামার মত ফাটা বেলুনে আঙুল পুরে হাওয়া ভরে প্যাঁট করে ফোলাই, হাতের তেলোয় প্যাঁকপ্যাঁক করে আওয়াজ করি, তারপর প্যাঁচ মারতে মারতে ফটাস করে ফাটিয়ে ফেলি; আর মা কোত্থেকে একটা খেঁকিয়ে “উফ্” করে ওঠে…

শেষাবধি মোক্ষলাভ -

যখন অনেক বড় হয়ে গেলাম, কিন্তু মনটা শিশুই রয়ে গেল, চাকরি বাকরি করতে ঝাড়খন্ডের জঙ্গলে দাপিয়ে দৌরাত্ম করে চলেছি; এমতবস্থায় একদিন বাড়ি ফিরে শুনি পানিহাটি মেলা চলছে। আমার সাথে মা আর মার সাথে আমি একদিন বিকেলে হানা দিলাম। গয়নাগাঁটি, জামাকাপড় কিছুরই তেমন বায়না নেই আমার; এদিকে মা দেদার কিনে চলেছে। শেষমেশ যখন দেখল আমি কিছুই কিনছি না, একটা ছোটখাটো মেলোড্রামা বাধবে বাধবে, সেই সুযোগে আমি তিনটে বর চাইলাম; একটা বেলুন, একটা গোল বেলুন, একটা গোল গ্যাস বেলুন... প্রশ্ন উঠতেই পারে, এত দিনেও নিজে একটা কিনি নি কেন! সদুত্তর নেই। কিন্তু মন বলে, বেলুন কেউ কিনে দিলে যতটা ভালো লাগে, নিজে নিজে কেনায় সেই ভালোলাগা নেই। না কিনলেও ফোলাতে গিয়েই টের পেয়েছি। যাই হোক, সেই সময় তক্ষক মুনি ব্যোমপথে বইছিলেন, একটা তথাস্তু ও আমার হাতে একটা ইয়া বড় নীল গ্যাস বেলুন এসে পড়লো। উইত্তারা, সেই থেকে নীল রঙ হল ভীষন প্রিয়! অ্যাডেনয়েড হিঙ্কলের মত নাচতে না পারলেও ফিলটা কোন অংশে কম ছিল না। বাড়ি ফিরে সে বেলুন খাটের বাটামে টানা চার দিন লটকে রেখেছিলাম। তারপর সেও চুপসে গেল।

ঘুরে ফিরে সেই একই কথা -

এবারের পুজোর ঘটনা। মনে বেলুনপ্রীতি আজও টনটনে। দশমীর দিন বেরোলাম ছবি তুলতে। মা, বাবা, প্রতিবেশী এক পরিবার কলকাতায় ঠাকুর দেখবে ফাঁকায় ফাঁকায় দিনের বেলা। কোন এক কোনা আটকে এক বেলুনওলা মিয়ানো বিড়িতে সুখটান দিচ্ছে। ছবি না তুলে হাঁ করে তাকিয়ে আছি। মা আগে বলত “চল”,এখন বললো “চলতে থাক”; ভালো মানুষের বেটি ঐ ন্যাতানো বিড়ির ধোঁয়ার মত একবুক নিঃশ্বাস ছেড়ে ক্যামেরা বাগিয়ে পাশ কাটিয়ে চলে এলাম...

পুনশ্চ -

বাড়ি ফিরে আয়নায় চোখ আটকে গেল। শালা পিন ফুটিয়ে বলল, “তুই নিজেই এখন একটা আস্ত বেলুন রে, হতভাগা…”

আমার আমাজন অভিযান ( নিন্দুক ভার্সান )

আমাদের শঙ্কর ( আমি এখানে অধিকারীবাবু বলে ডাকবো ) আর ব্রান স্টার্কের মধ্যে দারুণ মিল আছে। লক্ষ্য করেছো কেউ? তারপর ধরো অ্যানের বাবা আর নেড স্টার্ক এবং দিনারীসের মধ্যে? অথবা আরিয়া ও শ্বেতলানা (মানে আন্না )র মধ্যে? করোনি না? জানি করবে না। তোমরা কিছুতেই সিরিয়াসলি কিছু নাও না। কত আর ধরে ধরে বোঝাবো?

কি বলছিলাম? শঙ্কর আর ব্রান স্টার্কের মধ্যে মিল আছে। বিশ্বাস হলো না? লেট মি এক্সপ্লেইন।

ক) দুইজনেই যা যা স্বপ্ন দেখে, সেগুলো মিলে যায়।

খ) দুইজনেই কারো না কারো ঘাড়ে ভর দিয়ে চলে।

গ) দুইজনেই পিছনপাকা ও জ্ঞানপাপী।

ও কাকীমা চটে উঠছো কেন? তোমাদের দেবতার সাথে ম্লেচ্ছ দাঁড়কাকের তুলনা করছি বলে? কিন্তু তুমি তো স্টার্কের বাচ্চাকে চেনোই না। সুতরাং সিরিয়াল দেখগে যাও...

তবে ওপরের প্রতিটা কথা সত্য ঘটনা অবলম্বনে লেখা। জল মেশানো নেই। অধিকারীবাবু প্রথম সিনেই খেয়েছে রাম-তাড়া বাই ব্রেজিলের কালো বাঘ। ছবিটা এরকম...

এখন প্রশ্ন অধিকারীবাবু ও কেলে মানিক দুটোই খাদের কিনারায় কি করতে গেছিল! মানে নরমালি লোকে কোথাও থেকে দৌড়ে এসে কোথাও একটা যায়। এখানে দুজনেই কমলের জন্য ডোডো সিরিংএর মত খাদের ধারে অপেক্ষা করছিল। পিপ্ (কমলবাবু নিশ্চই একশান বলেছিলেন) বলতেই দে দৌড়। ওহো অন্য থিওরী কপচাচ্ছি আসল কথা ছেড়ে। হ্যাঁ যা বলছিলাম। দুজনেই যা স্বপ্ন দেখে সব মিলে যায়। অধিকারীবাবু প্রথম গল্পে হাতী দেখেছে...পেয়েছে। এবারে জাগুয়ার আর কেইম্যান দেখেছে; সকালে উঠে নাচতে নাচতে কমল কাকুকে বলেছে। কমলকাকুও হিড়হিড় করে টানতে টানতে আমাজনে নিয়ে গেছে। শেষে অধিকারীবাবুর নাকের জলে চোখের জলে অবস্থা দেখে বলেছে, ঠিক আছে তোমায় কিছু করতে হবে না, শুধু দাঁত কিড়মিড় করবে, বাকী হামি মেনেজ করে লিবে। তা ম্যানেজ উনি করেছেন ও দায়িত্ব নিয়ে ছড়িয়েছেন। সুতরাং অধিকারীবাবুর স্বপ্ন সফল।

পয়েন্ট দুই। ব্রান স্টার্ক এর যেমন হোডর, অধিকারীবাবুর তেমনি শ্বেতলানা। নাহলে গ্রামে তো গুরুমশাই হয়ে বসেছিল। সে একটাই জিনিস পড়ায়। আফ্রিকা। ওয়ার্ল্ড ম্যাপে একটা জায়গাই পয়েন্ট আউট করে। আফ্রিকা। পড়াতে পড়াতে একটা বাচ্চাকে একটাই প্রশ্ন করে, যার উত্তর আফ্রিকা। তা এমতাবস্থায় আনা এসে হাজির। অধিকারীবাবুর মাকে প্রায় শাশুড়ী বানিয়ে, হামি টোমাডের প্যাঁডানী ডিবে স্টাইলে বাংলার মা-বোন এক করে, দেবদুলালকে ঘাড়ে করে ডাইরেক্ট কাসেল ব্রাজিল। তা অধিকারীবাবুর মা তো ছাড়বেন না। এই সময় না কমলঠাকুর একটা মিউজিক পাঞ্চ করেছেন। এই মিউজিক হিন্দীমুভি বর্ডার বলো বা স্টার ওয়ার্সের জেডাইদের যুদ্ধযাত্রা, সব জায়গায় একদম পাররররররফেক্ট। অধিকারীবাবুর সাজুগুজু দেখলে কে বলবে উনি কার্গিল যাচ্ছেন না আমাজন। আর লাবনী সরকারের স্লো মোশনে গাল কাঁপানো যে মিস করেছে, তার ২০০ টাকাই বৃথা। পাক্কা ৫৫ সেকেন্ড ধরে গাল কাঁপানো আমায় দুটো জিনিস মনে করিয়ে দিয়েছে। এক "আপ মুঝে আচ্ছে লগনে লগে"র লাস্ট সিনে হৃতিকের গাল কাঁপাতে কাঁপাতে উঠে দাঁড়ানো। দুই, ইসে মানে, হাগিসের অ্যাডে বাচ্চাটার পাছা নাড়ানো।

পয়েন্ট তিন। ব্রান স্টার্ক আর অধিকারীবাবু দুটোই যাচ্ছেতাই রকমের বেশী জানে। অধিকারীবাবু তো আনা আসা থেকেই তার ইংরেজী আর মার-ডালা গোত্রীয় বাংলার বাংলা তর্জমা করে বলে বলে দিচ্ছিল, থাকতে না পেরে পরে নিজের বলা ইংরেজীর বাংলাও করে দিতে শুরু করলো। একদিকে বলবো ভালোই হয়েছে। নইলে আমি তো মিশরে চলে যাচ্ছিলাম আর একটু হলেই। একবার কিসব হাবিজাবি ফিলোজফি ঝেড়ে শেষে বলে "থুত"। আমি তো ঝিমোচ্ছিলাম। চমকে উঠেছি। আমাজনে কি ফ্যারাও থুতমোসিসের স্কেলেটন পাওয়া গেল নাকি। পরে বলে ওটার হল গিয়ে "সত্যি"কারের ট্রুথ। আমি আবার ঝিমোতে লাগলাম।

আরও অনেক পয়েন্ট আছে, যেমন দুইজনেই বাবা নেই, দুইজনেই গাছে গায়ে ঠেস দিয়ে ঘুমোয়; কিন্তু এসব বললে লোকে আমার রিভিউ পড়ে লাইক দেবে না। তোমরা ভাববে আমি তো ফ্রাস্ট্রেশনেই মরে গেছি (অত খায় না বাওয়া, আমি বিষমাল )!

আরিয়া আর অ্যানার মধ্যে মিল আছে বলার জন্য যারা এই মুহুর্তে আামার শত্রু হয়ে গেল, তাদের জন্য এক বালতি অভিনন্দন। বাকীটা নিজের খরচে...

আরিয়াকে আমার যতটা ভালো লাগে, অ্যানাকে ঠিক ততটাই খারাপ লেগেছে। দেখতে মিষ্টি আর বিদেশী হয়েও সন্ধ্যারাণীর সাথে পাল্লা দিয়ে কাঁদতে পারে, এর বেশী একটা পয়েন্টও দেওয়া যাবে না। একটা লাইনে কোথায় যতিচিহ্ন বসবে সেটাই জানে না। "এখানে প্রস্রাব করিবেন না করিলে ৫০ টাকা জরিমানা" ধার্য করাই যেতে পারতো। মিলটা কোথায়। দুজনেই বাবা অন্ত প্রাণ। মৃত্যুর প্রতিশোধে নো-ওয়ান বা অধিকারীবাবুকে ইনভল্ভ করানো। দুজনেই একা একা অনেকদূর পাড়ি দেওয়া ইত্যাদি। তবে এই মেয়ে আরও এক কাঠি সরেস। ইটালীয় পিতার সাথে বাংলা আর ইংরেজী কনভারসেশনের সাহস আরিয়াও দেখাতো না। ক্যানোতে বিষফল খেয়ে ঘুমানোর সময়, বাকী নৌকায় যথেষ্ট জায়গা থাকা সত্ত্বেও অধিকারীবাবুর বুকের ওপর আড়ামসে শুয়ে পড়লো। আর বাড়ী থেকে বহুদূরে আমাজনের বুকে কোন নদীর কি নাম পটাপট মুখস্ত বলে দিল। বোঝাই গেল না, গতবারে অভিযানে কে এসেছিল! আর এল ডোরাডো দেখার পর উত্তেজনার এক্সপ্রেশন! হরিবোল (ইংরেজীতে উচ্চারণ করো)!

আর রইল বাকী মার্কো পোলো থুড়ি ফ্লোরিয়ান। নেড স্টার্কের মতই বুদ্ধিমান। আর দিনারীসের মত উচ্চাকাঙ্খী ও এক কথার মানুষ। এল ডোরাডো আবিষ্কার করতে যাচ্ছি, বুঝলে? ওরে কেউ একে একটা মাইক আর এক পিপে রাম এনে দে। সব্বাইকে বলে চলেছে। কোন রাখঢাক নেই। নড়বড়ে ঝুলন্ত সেতুটা মহা জালি। মার্কোমশাই এখানে কালিদাসের উত্তরসূরী। শিকড়বাকড় দিয়ে বানানো হলেই যে তোর ওপর তিনটে দামড়া লোক তিনটে ঘোড়া সমেত উঠতে পারবে না, আগে বলতে পারিস নি? মাঝরাস্তায় পটাং। আমার বোধহয় চোখ খারাপ। আমি যেন সেতুতে বেশকিছু পিভট দেখলাম! ও দেখিনি? আচ্ছা।

দিনারীসের এক কথা নিয়ে কথা হচ্ছিল না? (আমাদের সবার হাঁটু ব্যাথা!) মার্কোর ও এক কথা। ওহ বয়, মাই বয়, ইয়েস বয়, নো বয়, ইউ বয়.... খড়বায়ু বয় বেগে গানটা আবহসঙ্গীতে আপসে ঢুকে যেত। খেঁকুড়ে লোক। আমাদের এক প্রতিবেশী আছে। তাদের আনন্দ, রাগ, ঝগড়া কিছুতেই আলাদা করে বোঝা যায় না; সবেতেই চিল্লায়। ওই বাড়ী থেকে ভূমিকম্পপপপপপপ, খাবার পোড়াআআআআআআ আর ঘুম পেয়েছেএএএএএএএএ সব একই ফ্রিকোয়েন্সিতে বিকিরিত হয়। এনার এক্সপ্রেশনও তাই। সবেতেই মুখখানা বুলডগের মত করে রাখে। ইনি আবার লিও রোজাসের কাছ থেকে ওনার বাঁশীটা ধার নিয়ে লাস্ট অফ দ্যা মোহিকান'সের থিম না আভে মারিয়ার প্রথম লাইন টা বাজান। মরণ (এটাও ইংরেজীতে পড়তে হবে)!

এত গেল লোকগুলোর কথা। কিন্তু লেক নেসের দানো আর অ্যানাকোন্ডার মধ্যে মিলটা? জলের মধ্যে হুবহু একই ভাবে কিলবিল করে। গেছে মেয়েটা জল আনতে, তার পিছনেও কাঠি করে দিল। অধিকারীবাবু তো দৌড়ে এলেন। ভয়ে হিসি করে দেবার জোগাড় সাপবাবাজীর। আলোর বেগে মার্কোমশাই এর কেবিনে পালালো। আমি তো ভেবেছিলাম বোধহয় আবার ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছি। নাঃ। পরে বুঝলাম ওটা হাইব্রিড মাল। কমলবাবুর ডিএনএ আছে। আর বাকীটা অ্যানাকোন্ডা পার্ট ওয়ানের সাপটার। মার্কোকে খেল, আবার বমি করে দিল। বুঝলাম না কারনটা কি! আমি তিনটে কারন ভেবে বের করেছি। দেখতো মেলে কিনা।

বাকী গ্রাফিক্স ও অ্যানিমেশন, একই দৃশ্যের বারবার অবতাড়না, পাটভাঙা জামাকাপড় ও দেবের খেতে বসার সময় মাসল বাগানো গেঞ্জি (হ্যাঁ বাছা, ওটার মেটেরিয়াল রিয়াল গেঞ্জি ই ), মেকআপ আর্টিষ্ট (যা বুঝলাম মার্কোই দুদিক সামলায়। মরে যাবার পর সময় পেয়ে ছেলে মেয়েগুলোকে সাজিয়েছে ), অল্প স্বল্প স্প্যানিশ জানা আনার কি সুন্দর স্প্যানিশ থেকে ইংরেজীতে কবিতার মত ছন্দে রিডল বানিয়ে দেওয়া, ভার্জিন অফ সান (আরেক গুলতাপ্পি), অধিকারীবাবুকে আনার দেওয়া সোনার ব্লক (এটা সোনার টুকরো? ফাজলামির একটা সীমা মেনটেইন করা উচিৎ) , শেষ দৃশ্যে ক্যাফেটেরিয়ায় অধিকারীবাবুর হাতে ও মুখে (থুতনিতে) লেগে থাকা সোনালী অভ্র (পরের বার দেখতে ভুলো না ) র কথা তুললে রাত ভোর হয়ে যাবে। তাই ওগুলো আপাততঃ বাদ। শুধু একটা জিনিস না বলে শেষ করলে মহাপাতক হব। ব্রাজিলে নামার পর আনার পোষাক টা একটু চেনা লাগছিল কি? ওটা টাইটানিকে রোজ ওঠার পর ছেড়ে রেখে গেছিল। কমলকাকু গুপি করে নিরমা দিয়ে কেচে গোলাপী রঙ লাগিয়ে আনাকে পরিয়েছেন। আমার দুপুরের কফিটা মিস হয়ে গেল, ধ্যাৎ!!!

জামার কথা - "ছেড়ে দে শয়তান। ছেড়ে দে আমায়! তুই শুধু আমার শরীরই পাবি, মন পাবি না!"

আমার কথা - "ছাড়বো বলে তো ধরিনি সুন্দরী। তোমায় এখন আমি উমমম জড়িয়ে....উফফ, কি গরম তুমি!"

জামার কথা - "ঘরে অন্য জামা নেই? এক আমায় পেলে তুমি আমার কোন ইজ্জত রাখোনা। কি গরম, কি শীত... কি ভাবো তুমি! আমার..."

(অতঃপর তার ফুঁপিয়ে কান্নার ভঙ্গীমা ও আমার প্রেম চোপড়া সম মুভমেন্টে প্রিয়ঙ্কা চোপড়ার ওপর ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়া.... তারপরের ক্লাইম্যাক্সটা পড়ে সময় মত আসবে...)

বছর ছয়েক আগে তাকে প্রথম দেখি। কোন এক সুন্দরী ম্যানিকুইনের কাষ্ঠশরীরে জড়িয়ে। কাঠ-কু-রানীর পায়ের কাছে আরও কিছু স্যাম্পল, যথাক্রমে ফড়িং, জিরাফ, হাতি ও তিমিদের জন্য রাখা। প্রাইস ট্যাগ বলছিল, একটা নিলে, সেম দামে আর একটা ফ্রি। এ অফার ত্যাগ করার প্রশ্নই ওঠে না কারন তখন আমার সবে ফড়িং থেকে হাতীতে ট্রান্সফর্মেশন চলছে, আর আমার দিব্যদৃষ্টি বলছে জি.এস.টি এসে যাবে। একটা নীল ও একটা সাদা ( ওভাবে তাকাচ্ছো কেন? ) কপাৎ পাকরাও করে, কড়কড়ে দেড়শ টাকা কার্ডে পেমেন্ট করে ( কি হচ্ছে টা কি!! ), দারোয়ানের সেলামে একটা বিল ক্লিন্টন-মার্কা হাসি ডোনেট করে চলে এলাম। পাক্কা একবছর সোহাগের hug করেছি দুজনকেই। মাঝে মাঝে নতুন খোলা সিরাজের বিরিয়ানী বলো বা এর ওর ঘরে দুষ্টু পার্টি, সবেতে নিয়ে গেছি। তবে আজ কিন্তু শুধু সুয়োরানীর গল্প বলবো। সাদা রং, গায়ে কমলা আর নীল ভেলভেটের পাতলা আস্তর ( যা কিনা আগামী তিনটে ধোলাইয়ের পরেই অদৃশ্য হয়ে যেতে চলেছে ) বউটির বিউটি বহুগুনে বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। আর ভাইটাল স্ট্যাট!! ( পর-স্ত্রী-কাতর হতে না দেওয়ার জন্য জনস্বার্থে প্রচারিত নয়)

এক বছর পর, অনেক সখীপনা হয়েছে বলে, তাকে ঘরের কাজে লাগিয়ে দিতে গেলাম। সে আমার দিকে কেমন একটা ললিতা পাওয়ারের নজরে তাকালো। আমি খুব ভীতু মানুষ। তাকে বাক্সে পুরে দুয়োরানী নীল জামাকে কাজে লাগিয়ে দিলাম। সুন্দরীকে মাঝে মাঝে বাড়িতে লোক আসলে বের করতাম। কিন্তু তাও সইলো না হতভাগীর। বাক্সের কোণে পড়ে থেকে কাছে টানতো। অনেকদিন দেখেও না দেখার ভান করে থাকতাম। হারেমখানায় অন্য সুন্দরীদের সাথে ওর প্রচ্ছন্ন হিংসা টের পেতাম আমি। হয়তো কারো খোঁজে গেছি, তার রঙও সাদা। ইনি ঠিক সবার আগে এসে লাভ পোশনের ( পড়ো ন্যাপথালিনের ) একটা চার্ম ছড়িয়ে দিতেন। তবে বিশ্বামিত্রও কুপোকাত হয়েছিলেন মেনকার ছলনায়; আমি তো কোন ছাড়। মাস ছয়েক পর, হারেমের মহল অন্য সুন্দরীকে কনফার্ম করে সুয়োরানীকে ছিনিয়ে এনে ফেললাম, ইসে আলনায়। সেদিন থেকে আজ পাঁচ বছর সে আমার পাটরাণী।

প্রথম প্রথম যতদিন উজালার বিজ্ঞাপন দিত, আক্ষরিক অর্থেই তাকে পাট পাট করে গুছিয়ে রাখতাম। কিন্তু তারও যৌবন আমার চরম নিষ্পেষনে একদিন অস্তমিত হল। ভাইটাল স্ট্যাটেস্টিক পৌঁছে গেল ৩৪-৩৪-৩৪ এ ( জানি, আর কেউ নজর দেবে না )। এখানে হলুদের আঁচড়, ওখানে স্যাভলনের কামড়; লোকের সামনে বের করাটাই লজ্জার। বাহাত্তুরে বুড়ির কিন্তু ঠাট কমেনি তাতেও। এখনো প্রতিটি সুতো অটুট প্রতি মাসে একবার করে ধোলাই খাওয়া সত্ত্বেও। না তাকে তার দাগ ছেড়ে যায়, না আমি। চাঁদেরও কলঙ্ক আছে, আমার সুয়োরাণীরও। তবু তাকে দেখি আর জর্জরিত করি... এই পাপী সাজাহান ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে তার ওপর আরও একবার।

কিন্তু আজ ঘর্মাক্ত কলেবরে জিমখানা ( যেখানে আমি দুসপ্তাহে একবার যাই, আর পুরো মাসে বার আষ্টেক বিরিয়ানীসম খাদ্য খাই ) থেকে ফিরে দেখি এক কোনে দলা পাকিয়ে পড়ে আছে বিছানার ওপর। মন কেমন করে উঠলো। ভাবলাম থাক। অনেক তো হল। এবার ছুটি দি ওকে। কিন্তু না, ও শুনলো না। আমি পরিস্কার জানি, ও চাইলো আমি ওর কাছে যাই; জাপটে ধরে ঘাম মুছি; তাই পাক্কা হেমা মালিনীর স্বরে বলে উঠলো... "ছেড়ে দে শয়তান। ছেড়ে দে আমায়! তুই শুধু আমার শরীরই পাবি, মন পাবি না!" এগুলো ডাহা নাটক। ও ঠিক জানে, ও আমায় না উস্কালে আমি আমার হারেমে চলে যাব, বেছে আনবো আর একজনকে, আর ওর মহলে ( হ্যাঁ রে বাবা আলনায় ) টাঙিয়ে দেব। বুঝিনা ঠিক কী চায় ও। অন্যদের বাঁচাতে নাকি আমাকে নিজের সাথে মজিয়ে রাখতে। পারলাম না ওর খোঁচা উপেক্ষা করতে। কপালের ঘামটা মুছে বললাম "ছাড়বো বলে তো ধরিনি সুন্দরী। তোমায় এখন আমি উমমম জড়িয়ে....উফফ, কি গরম তুমি!" ন্যাকামীতে সাড়ে নিরানব্বই পাওয়া সুয়োরাণী এটারই অপেক্ষায় ছিল। আড়মোড়া ভাঙতে গিয়েও ভাঙলো না, স্পষ্ট দেখলাম। হিসহিসিয়ে বলে উঠলো "ঘরে অন্য জামা নেই? এক আমায় পেলে তুমি আমার কোন ইজ্জত রাখোনা। কি গরম, কি শীত... কি ভাবো তুমি! আমার..."। কথা শেষ করতে দিলাম না, চেপে ধরলাম ওর গলা পরফিরিয়ার প্রেমিকের মত; ঘামে মাখামাখি করে দিলাম ওকে। শুয়ে রইলাম অনেক্ষণ একাত্ম হয়ে। হঠাৎ খেয়াল হল, বালতিতে গরম জল ভরতে দেওয়া আছে। আস্তে করে ওর ক্লান্ত শরীরটা জলে ভাসিয়ে দিলাম। কিছু বুদবুদ উঠে এলো ও বালতির নীচে ধাক্কা খেতে; কিছু গানের কলিও বুদবুদের মত আমার গলায় ভেসে উঠলো। ম্লান হেসে ওর দিকে তাকিয়ে বলে উঠলাম, "ধ্বংস হলি না, বেঁচে গেলি এ যাত্রা......"

Bhoger Mangso--- একটি নিরীহ নিরামিষ পদ

নয় নয় করে নয়মাস কেটে গেল চেন্নাইতে। পুজোটাও শেষ। হুদহুদের বুদবুদও নজরে এলোনা। এত একঘেয়ে সবকিছু!!! প্রিয় শহর অামার, তোমায় দেখতে ইচ্ছে করে। তা হঠাত্ বাংলা হরফ কেন? অামার এক সুদূর বাংলাদেশবাসী বন্ধুর অাবদারে অার অামার অাদরের বাংলাভাষার অভাব মেটানোর ব্যার্থ প্রয়াসে। এমনিতে বাংলার বাইরে থাকতে ভালই লাগে, তবে যদি কোন "ছায়া-সুনিবিড় শান্তির নীড়" হত, তবু "একখান কথা সিল", কিন্তু এই কাঠফাটা দিনে অার যাই অাসুক কাব্য অাসেনা। কাব্য অাসেনি, তাতে কারোর (পড়ুন He-man) কিছুই যায় অাসেনি; তবে এই অধমের জন্য দুটো জিনিস এসেছে। কিছু crochet hooks অার একটা PENTA X5 camera। অনুগ্রহ করিয়া মাথায় রাখিবেন, দ্বিতীয় বস্তুটি He-man দেন নাই। মা-বাবার থেকে পাওয়া। এটাও পাওয়া হত না, যদি না ওনাকে ৭ টি দিনের জন্য অামায় চেন্নাইতে একা রেখে দূরে পাড়ি দিতে হত। অার অামিও এই ক'দিন অসম্ভব কুঁড়েমি করে কাটিয়েছি। বলতে গেলে অাড়াই বছরের জমিয়ে রাখা কুঁড়েমো ৭ দিনে complete করতে হয়েছিল, ভাবা যায়!! মোক্ষম কাটিয়েছি সময়টা।

অামার পেটুক মশাইয়ের কলরব, যাই হোক, থামার নয়; ফেরার পর তাঁর অভিনব idea ছিল, এবারের দুর্গাষ্টমীতে নিরামিষ অাহার করা হবে। Mind it নিরামিষ--- অর্থাত্ no পিঁয়াজ রসুন। কলকাতায় থাকলে সারাদিন ধরে মায়ের হাতের লুচি, ভাজাভুজি, অালুর দম, পনীর (যদিও এটাকে নিরামিষ কেন বলে লোকে অামার মাথায় ঢোকেনা), পোস্ত....সে এক এলাহি ব্যাপার হতো। কিন্তু এখানে অত কিছু একা হাতে করা? Just impossible!!! তাহলে? মেনু কি হবে??? কি অার? “নিরামিষ খাসির মাংস" ।

অাহা অত অবাক হওয়ার কিছু নেই। যুগ যুগ ধরে বেচারা নধর কচি পাঁঠাগুলোকে বলি কি অার সাধে দেওয়া হয় পুজোতে? গরুর দুধ অার বলির পাঁঠাকে অামিষ বলে কোন অাহাম্মকে(হাজার হোক গরু এই অাহাম্মকদেরই মা)? তাহলে তো অারশোলাও ~~পতঙ্গ~~ পাখী।

তো যেটা বলছিলাম, নিরামিষ মাংস...বা ~~ভোগীর মাংস~~ ভোগের মাংস। রান্না করার অাগে যথারীতি অান্তর্জালের সাথে জড়াজড়ি করা গেল (অনেকদিন পর করলাম, কারন রেসিপিটা মনে ছিল না পুরোটা)। যারা মাংস বস্তুটি পিঁয়াজ রসুন ছাড়া শুনেই নাক সিঁটকায়, তাদের এখনি টাটা.... অার যারা অামার মত বীর; বাকিটুকু পড়ার, বানানোর অার খাবার জন্য সাদর অামন্ত্রণ।

খাসীর মাংস- ৫০০ গ্রাম

অালু- ২ টো বড় (৪ টুকরো করে কাটা)

অাদা বাটা- ২ চা চামচ

হলুদ- ১ চা চামচ

দই – ২-৪ টেবিল চামচ (ভালো করে ফেটানো)

ধনেগুঁড়ো- ৪ চা চামচ

চিনি- ২ চা চামচ

কাঁচা লংকা- ৪ টে (বাটা)

সরষের তেল- ২-৩ চা চামচ

ঘি- প্রয়োজন মত

নুন- স্বাদ মত

গোল মরিচ- ৮ টা (optional)

ছোট এলাচ- ১৫ টা (পনের) বাটা, এর থেকে ১ চা চামচ অালাদা করে রাখতে হবে.....কোন কৃপনতার জায়গা নেই, ১৫ টাই লাগবে (ঠিক এভাবেই লেখা ছিল site টা তে); অামি কম করে দিয়ে দেখেছিলাম একবার, trust me ভালো লাগেনি।

প্রথমেই জানিয়ে রাখি, এই রান্নায় বান্নার পরিমানই বেশী। সবশুদ্ধ ১ ঘন্টা ১৫ মিনিট সময় লাগবে marinate করতে। মাংসটাকে অাগে সরষের তেল অার হলুদ মাখিয়ে ১৫ মিনিট রেখে দিয়েছিলাম অামি।এরই মধ্যে অাদা-লংকাবাটা, দই, ধনেগুঁড়ো ও এলাচ বাটা একসাথে মিশিয়ে নিই। ১৫ মিনিট পর এই pasteটাই মাংসের সাথে ভালো করে মাখিয়ে minimum ১ ঘন্টার জন্য refrigerator এ রেখে দিই।

এবার pressure cooker এ ঘি টুকু গরম করে তেজপাতা অার গোটা গোলমরিচ ফোড়ন দিয়ে, অালুগুলো ভেজে নিতে হবে, এই ৩-৪ মিনিটের মত। অালু ভেজে অামি তুলে রাখি না, বরং ওরই মধ্যে মাংস দিয়ে দিই। সুবিধাটা হল, মাংস কষানোর concept টা এখানে একেবারেই নেই। মাংস, নুন, চিনি সব একসাথে দিয়ে মিনিট তিন চারেক এর মত নাড়াচাড়া করেই জল দিয়ে দিতে হবে, মাংসটা কখনই ভাজা যাবেনা। এবার pressure cooker বন্ধ করে দিতে হবে। মাংস সিদ্ধ হয়েছে বুঝলে নামিয়ে নিয়ে বাকি এলাচগুঁড়োটা ওপরে ছড়িয়ে দিতে হবে। ব্যস্

সহজ তাই না? অাররররররে এতক্ষন বাংলায় লিখতে তো বেশ ভালোই লাগল!! যা:, শুধুশুধুই ভয় পাচ্ছিলাম... অাসব অাবার....

Chicken Rezala- Bengali style

I first tasted this recipe when I was in Bhubaneswar. (~~are you laughing at me?,~~ well I have a solid excuse) When we heard that Siraj restaurant had opened a branch there, which was in kolkata already, all the (well, most of all) members of IOP drove towards it. Mainly the bongs those who were used to miss kolkata style biriyani.

But it was not the first time of visit. Me and Sam loved to go Siraj at least once or twice in 15 days...just for the kababs and biriyani. Then one day we ordered mutton rezala. And BUMB!! I found what did I actually missed...why didn't I ever tried this menu from other restaurants? It was really amazing. I felt so stupid.

Once upon a time (It was around 1998-99, I can't remember the time clearly) I was in standard 7 or 8, Baba (my father) declared that he was going to make a new dish called "mutton rezala". My father also can cook well and my mother had learned many of dishes from him after their marriage. Every Sunday baba loved to prepare chicken or mutton dishes and it became a tradition for many years in our tiny nuclear family. Even still now he cooks when guests come. Of course he doesn't do all alone, maa helps. We had a cook book of Bela Dey and Lila Majumder at that time, and most of the experiments were based upon it. After my marriage baba gave me that book. This rezala-recipe was that book's child. So, when the dish was almost done, baba found a soupy texture. But according to him mutton or chicken dishes should not be soupy, it should has thick gravy (a type of myth you can say). He didn't ask anybody, and added some ararot(arrowroot) powder in it. Now you can imagine how thick and glue like texture we had found!! The taste was really good but the whole thing went so wrong that I never tried to try this recipe. Maa and me had so much faith on him, that we never opened the rezala page from that book.

But now situations have changed. I love to prepare and experiment different kinds of dishes. Though the daily "thor-bori-khara" food preparations snatches my all enthuse. I found Priyanka Panigrahi's video from YouTube... and tried that. It was really very easy and all the ingredients were so easy to gather. Though I didn't follow the same. I was very much sure and satisfied that the whole thing went well. And when my guinea-pig returned from office and I seized him towards my pressure cooker (the thing was there) without a little hint; he took a look, grasped the fragrance, and shouted out with full volume.... "yes!!! REZALAAAAAAA"

Do you want the same? You may then follow my way and you will need,

Chicken- large or medium pieces. I used 750 grams.
Onion- 1 large, cut in round and thick slices
Onion paste- 1 cup
Ginger-Garlic paste- 2 tsp
Green Chili- 2 or 3
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Salt as required
Cashew- 3 or 4 pieces
Poppy seeds- 2 tsp
Yogurt/Curd- 1 and 1/2 cup
Bay leaves- 2
Red chili- 2
Green Cardamom- 5 to 6
Cinnamon- 1"
Cloves- 4
Black peppercorn (whole)- 4 to 5 (I didn't use it, just because I didn't have it. So it is optional)
Oil- 2 tablespoon
Ghee- 2 to 3 tablespoon

Now the preparation-

Marinate the chicken with 1/2 cup curd for 10-15 minutes.

In the mean time make a paste of poppy seeds, cashew and green chili. Mix onion paste, ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp salt with it.

Now marinate the chicken with this paste and oil; leave it in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Take the rest curd, add sugar, salt and very little water (if you think). Beat it well until it become very smooth. Keep aside.

And time for cooking-

Take a pressure cooker (you may use any deep bottomed pan). Add the ghee, let it melt fully, add the whole garam masalas i.e Bay leaf, Red chili, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and peppercorn. Let them splutter.

Add the marinated chicken and cook for 10 minutes. Don't forget to stir.

Marinated chicken after 1 hour

Add the beaten curd and onion; saute for another 1-2 minutes.

Take the taste, if you need more salt. Add required water. Cover the cooker and cook until the chicken is fully cooked. It is done now. So easy right??

Hi, so after a long gap I am here again. In the mean time I was in Kolkata after 6 months. It was a really pleasant time I have spent with my parents. We bought a Barbie for my bonu (my cousin) as she got the first place in a talent exam (hopeless, I forgot the name) and the gift really made her happy. She asked me for a barbie last year, but then I had already left Kolkata. Now I am happy as I could keep my promise to the pretty little girl. We reached Chennai on 1st July and I became sick. Some kind of muscle pain pushed me back to complete bed rest for 1 week. Got a check up to Fortis Malar Hospital for 2 times and totally separated from computer. Doctor Anand even asked me not to sit. But now I am quite well and it is my first day with my laptop.

But you know, it was truly spoken by some wise that when a girl marries she exchanges the attentions of many men for the inattention of one.... in the time of my pain, I still had to attend my homemaking job :-/ .

But the greater minds always forgive the lesser. I forgive him every time ;-) .

Well, I am not so much happy for Neymar's injury. Yes, I am a hardcore Brazil fan and after semifinal my heart is also injured.

So everything is just going on. No spark, no charm, nothing at all.

Now leave it. Put all your frustrations behind and it is time for a new (obviously the most stupid idea to call it a new) dish. Ta da.... presenting Chicken Stew.....

This is not my invention, the whole curtsy goes to my mother(IL). Sam loves it because it is very light for your tummy and I like it because it is very easy and less time consuming.

All you need are ____

Chicken - I used around 750 grams
Potatoes - 4 peeled and cut into halves
Cabbage - 2 leaves
Tomato - 1 chopped
Onion - 1 large
Green Chili - 2
Beans - 2
Capsicum - 1/4 th of 1

You may add any kind of veggies if you want. Oh I forgot to mention few more things..

Butter - 1 tbsp (or more)
Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Green Cardamom - 2
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
Cloves - 2
Salt to taste
Sugar- 1/4 tsp

You have to marinate your chicken pieces with ginger paste and Turmeric powder for 10 minutes.

Now follow all the steps like the picture. Okay let me guide you for 1st time.

Take a pressure cooker. Add the butter, heat it, add green cardamom, cinnamon stick and cloves. Let the smell out but take care of the butter or it will burn.
Add all the veggies and stir them for 2-4 minutes.
Add the marinated chicken.
Stir them for another 4-5 minutes.
Add water (as much as you need your soup), salt and sugar.
Cover the cooker and cook until your chicken is done.

Pabda soupy curry (Aloo Bori diye Pabda macher jhol)

I think Chennai is not situated in Tamil Nadu, not even in Earth. It has just changed its address in planet Mercury and all the Tamil people live here, wear monkey-cap, set fire and sit in front of it to make them comfortable when it is 35 degree centigrade outside after a 30 minute rain. Today its going to be 42 degree centigrade according to weather forecast. I can't look outside anymore. In my room there is another pathetic situation. AC is not working due to fuse problem from last 15 days and the house owner is another lazy masterpiece to call an electrician. Everyday we go to sleep after 3 PM at night when the eyelids deny to open, at least two times we change our sleeping position due to sweat and take minimum 5-7 baths daily. Our daily routine became disrupted. I fear to go to kitchen. Last few days I was only able to cook rice and boiled potato. Maximum times we are taking food from hotels and stopped to take breakfast and evening tiffin.

The day before yesterday we went to Spencer mall to spend 2-3 hours in an air-conditioned area and bought Pabda fish with some household things. Pabda or Pabo catfish is a native Bengali fish of Siluridae family are usually found in lakes and large rivers. I usually use mustard paste to cook Pabda but personally I like to avoid mustard paste though my mother(IL) loves to use it in any type of fish curry. She can't trust that ginger-cumin paste also can work well. Whenever we go Kolkata, I have to take that typical fish curry in most of the times. So here when I cook for him, I use all the opportunities to make Sam a guinea-pig. But today I remember I have some "bori" in my stock. You know what bori is? Of course you know if you are a Bengali. It is sun-dried gram-paste dumpling. Different kinds of grams like lentil (masoor) or urad (biuli) are used to prepare this. My mother prepares many types of bori like Masala Bori, Hinger Bori, Chal kumror (White pumpkin) Bori, Posto (Kasakasa/ poppy, whatever you say) Bori, Masoor daler bori, Emni bori (using normal biuli paste) etc. still now in winter season when the sun is bright and days are dry. My father helps her. After dried up a part of these bori goes to Mamar bari (mother's maiden home), Masir bari (My Aunt's house), mother's gaaner didibhai er bari (mother's song teacher) and Itu kakimar bari (mother's best friend). After marriage I also get a large amount, which is enough for my one-year-stock. I can remember my grandmother's activity (now she is not active :-P), she used to give marriage of two "bori"s (one of them decorated with sindoor, another with dhaan-durba) and addressed them as "Buro-Buri" (old man and old woman) and later immersed them.

Whatever, today I prepared Pabda with bori. For this recipe you will need,

Pabda Fish- 4, cut into half i.e. 8 pieces
Potato- 2, sliced
Kalojeera/ Kolanji- 1/2 tsp
Tomato- 1, sliced
Green chili- 5, sliced
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Red Chili powder- 1/2 tsp
Ginger paste/powder- 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder- 1tsp
Salt- to taste
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Mustard oil
Bori- 10/15 pieces

So, here we go...

Marinate the fishes with salt and turmeric powder for 10 minutes.

Add oil in a pan, fry the boris and keep separate.

Fry the fishes and also keep aside.

Now add the Kalojira in that same oil, let them splutter. Add potato and tomato and fry.
Add green chilis, fry again.

If the potatoes became light brown colored and tomato is smashed add Turmeric powder, Ginger powder, cumin powder and sugar one by one and don't stop to saute. You may add little water here.

If the masala is done, add 3/4 glass of water.

Add boris, fishes, red chili powder and salt if the water is boiling. Now cover it, cook for 12-15 minutes in a low temperature.

I know it is very easy and simple recipe, you may not find it interesting, yes I know it well. Even Sam started to laugh when saw me writing here. Grrrrrrr.... Then what's the reason behind? I wanted to post my cooking snaps here.

Joking. See, when I knew nothing about cooking, even my talent was not more than boiling potato or preparing Maggie, and after marriage I had to stay far from families; I had to go through different blogs and pages. Of course my mother and mother(IL) and sometimes mom [my mumi, mama's wife, aunt (enough translation!!!)] helped me through phone, and I wrote them down. But my foodie tongue (muuah, just like me) was not satisfied with only those restricted menus and then Google became the final hope. I have read many blogs on cooking and thought to create one for me. Frankly speaking, I enjoy to talk here. No matter, whatever is the issue. Egg in masala curd recipe

Hello lots, back again. Blogging homemade recipe became an addiction. I love to share at least two (minimum) recipes with you. So here is another one...

You may try this one with paneer also. I did once with a good outcome but today I tried it with eggs and its fine :-) . Well, let tell you one truth; I had 4 boiled eggs already and wished to make a lunch them along with boiled potatoes, butter and rice. Obviously a lazy-day-lunch-idea. Lol... but when I woke up in the morning around 9.30 am (He, prepared morning tea, lovely boy, and announced his tummy isn't disturbing again) and opened the refrigerator, my "dimaag ki baatti jal gayi". There were already everything I need and decided to make this menu for our lunch. It tastes rich, but with very small amount of spices you need. Wanna try? Here are the ingredients.....

Egg- 4 boiled and cut into halves lengthwise
Onion- 1 and 1/2. Chopped
Garlic cloves- 5
Ginger- 1 inch chopped
Curd- 1/2 cup (well beaten)
Garam masala- 1/2 tsp but I used 1 cinnamon, 2 cardamoms and 2 cloves instead of masala powder
Turmaric powder- 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder- 1/2 tsp
Green chilies- 4-5 (or as per taste)
Salt
Oil
Cashews- 8 pc
Ghee- 1 tsp

Now take a pan, heat some oil, fry the eggs and keep aside.

Then add garam masalas in the same oil, and add onion, cashew, green chilies, turmeric, ginger and garlic after 30 seconds. You need to come out the fragrance, right? Toss them all for few minutes, let the onion become light brown. Off the flame and take 10 minutes rest.

Come back, take out the fried ingredients from the pan, put in a mixer and make a smooth paste. Add little water if you need.

Put the past again in the remaining oil and saute for 3 minutes.

If oil comes out, add the red chili powder, salt and at last the curd.

After mixing them well, add salt and 1 cup water; cook for 5 minutes.

Add the ghee, cover it and let it cooked in a very low flame for another 5 minutes.

You may find a beautiful texture like this.

Now take the eggs in a serving bowl and pour the gravy on it.

Done!!

You may serve it with hot rice or parathas. Garnish them with curd and coriander leaves.

Ladakhi non-veg Thukpa

Hello friends... Good to see u again. I hope you are all fine there...and don't ask me how am I, boiling in 42 degree centigrade at Chennai today. Just back from Ooty yesterday. Very soon I am gonna post that. But now, another cool recipe to fight back the heat. Very easy and less time consuming. It is one of Sam's favorite dinner menu. I made it once before but that was an experimental phase. Now I am damn sure, that I am a master ( :-p ) of this super-easy recipe. Joking....

Now what is Thukpa? Wiki says, " Thukpa is a Tibetan noodle soup, inspired from China. It originated in the eastern part of Tibet....Later it became popular in Bhutan, and in the states of Sikkim, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, and some other parts of India." I tasted it first when I was at Bhubaneswar, Orissa. It was a very small shop at Chandrashekharpur that you can hardly find out its existence. But some did, and I found an interesting recipe to experience. Then I surfed Google and picked a recipe and added few more elements to get a better result. And here it is...

Ingredients:-

Noodles- 2 handful
Chicken- boneless 200 grams (more or less)
Egg- 2 or 3
Onion- 1 sliced
Carrot- 1 sliced
Capsicum- 1/4 sliced
Spring Onion- 7 or 8
Cabbage- 2 or 3 leaves
Green Chili- 3 chopped
Coriander leaves- 1 small handful
Ginger- 1 tsp
Garlic- 8 cloves chopped
Salt- as taste
Lemon- half
Honey- 1 tsp
Soya sauce- 1.5 to 2 tsp
Vegetable oil- as required
Water- 2-3 cups, add more if you need more soup

Now the method. I used rice noodles, but it is not necessary. Last time I did it with simple egg-noodles, and it went well. You need to boil it first with some salt and drain the whole water after that. Put some oil in the noodles, it (oil) will prevent it to become lump.

Make egg-poach in boiling water, take it out, and cut into small pieces.

Now heat oil in a large, broad mouthed pan, add chicken and fry it till light brown.

Add onion, carrot, capsicum and cabbage to chicken, saute for 2-3 minutes.

Next add ginger, garlic, spring onion and green chili.

Sprinkle salt, pepper, coriander leaves. Keep tossing for another 2-3 minutes.

Add water and simmer for 3 minutes, squeeze lemon. Put soya sauce and honey. Add salt if needed.

Cover and cook for 10 minutes in a medium heat. If the chicken and vegetables are totally boiled, add the noodles and egg, cook for 2 minutes in low heat. And its done.

It is a total dinner, you don't need any side dish. Just enjoy. And don't forget to tell me if you find it interesting.

Dhabe De keema

Well friends...I am gonna post you another delicious recipe today. But like before I am not sharing this recipe with many photos. Because today morning I was not sure to share this menu and so I didn't take the snaps of this preparation. But trust me..it is very easy and I don't think you actually need all of them. You know I am not very mature in cooking, but beside that I picked up the recipe from net and I think I did well....

I used buffalo keema because it was cheep and it is in my hand, but you can use any type of meat here. And all the other ingredients are very much available. For this recipe you need...

Keema- 250-300 grams
Mastered oil- 1/3 cup
Bay leaf- 2
Cumin seed- 1 tsp
Green cardamom- 2 crushed
Onion- 1 whole chopped
Garlic Cloves- 3 chopped
Ginger paste/ powder- I used powder 1 tsp
Tomato- 1 medium chopped
Capsicum- 1/2 chopped
Green Chili- 3 sliced and 1 for garnishing
Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Kashmiri Mirch powder- 1 tsp
Hing- 1/2 tsp
Lemon- 1/2, make its juice
Milk- 1/2 cup
Butter- 1 tsp
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Water

Now take a pressure cooker, add oil and let it hot.
Add bay leaf, cumin seeds, garlic cloves and cardamom, and let them release the aroma.

After that add the chopped onion and saute until they turn golden brown, add ginger paste or powder. Saute

Now add chopped capsicum, tomato and green chilies. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

You have to add the masalas now. Add turmeric powder, Chili powder, cumin powder and coriander powder, hing, sugar and salt. Mix them well. You may use very little water in this time to prevent them dry. Cook another 2 to 3 minutes, let the oil free from masalas.

Add the keema, saute for 3-4 minutes and then add milk. Mix well and add the lemon juice. cook in medium flame for another 5 minutes. Add the rest water, cover your cooker, after 2 whistle turn off the burner.

Open your cooker after 10 minutes. Add the butter. Serve with green Chili and lemon.

Recipe : Authentic Murighanto

Hello there, its 6.26 PM in India, lets take a cup of coffee with me. Well pathetic hot Chennai. Last two days I was ill, and Sam went to cook. I must not say he is as good as me (lolz..) but yeap, he tries and sometimes few good preparations come out. Like the last day he prepared "Keema-Curry" and it was really delicious (of course, I helped him to prepare the masala). Surely I'll share that recipe later with u but now I am gonna share something different.

As I felt well today morning, I tried a very authentic bong cuisine. Before marriage I loved this recipe, my parents also cook very well, and my maa prepared this for me. Yes I am talking about Murighanto. Trust me, its a mouth watering all time favorite dish. And it is very easy..

The main ingredients are a large fish head and basmati rice, you may use other qualities of Atap Chal also but you know a true foodie must not avoid the fragrance of a dish along with taste. Well let me give u a total list....

Large fish head- 1 (you may use any kind of large fish, like Ruhi. I used Bhetki)
Basmati Rice- 100 gm
Potato- 3 medium sized (cut into medium sized cubed shaped)
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Onion paste- 2 tsp
Ginger paste/ powder- 1 tsp
Garlic- 2 cloves (chopped)
Cumin paste- 1 tsp
Chili paste- 1 tsp
Onion- 1 medium sized (finely chopped)
Bay leaf- 1
Mastered oil- as needed
Salt- as per taste
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Ghee- 2 tsp (optional)

Wash the rice(not too much), let go all the water out of it.

Marinate the fish head with turmeric and salt for 10 minutes.
Now, heat oil in a pan. then fry well the fish head (don't put it whole, break it first or break it in the time of frying. Keep aside.

Fry the potatoes in the same oil and also keep aside.

Then lightly fry the basmati rice and take out of the pan.

Pour some oil again, put the bay leaf and chopped onion, and saute until the onions go brown.

Make a paste of all the spices and put them in the pan.

When the masala is done (u will find the oil comes out of it) put the fried head, fried potatoes and rice in it. Saute in a medium flame for 2-4 minutes.

Then pour 3 small cups (or more if u need) of water, salt and sugar.

Cover it. Take out from the oven after the rice and potatoes are boiled and the whole thing become dry and compact. Pour the ghee on it and serve hot.

Well I know the picture did not come out well, but the reason behind it was, whenever this came out from the oven, a snatcher named Sam just came out from another room, and took half of the dish at once and poof..

Rich Recipe of Bhetki

I must not say that I am a very good cook(er) but it is one of my hobbies to prepare different kind of foods at least twice a month. But it is your back luck that I am very irregular. Just kidding. Seriously I want to be here as much as I spend my times in bedroom.

Chennai is a metro city in India like Kolkata...but I am still not very familial with it and the main cause is nothing but its temperature. But you know, its already 11 weeks past, and the city becoming adorable to me. Oh, I became emotional!! :-D

May be you are thinking that why am I writing all these. I am writing this because my guardians from kolkata (at least no one is here to irritate us) continuously ask me to prepare oil free or less oily dishes. Why? Sam (my husband) had just put on some cholesterol. But you know doctors have already declared that this is under marginal level.

So, for those above mentioned reasons...I cook light dishes mostly. Daal, Sabji or sometimes kababs, and light fish/chicken curry (sometimes mutton/beef) exist in our daily routine. But it makes me happy, when Sam asks me for a dinner outing. And sometimes I/we also try to make new dishes...we are madly foodie.

So, for the recipe you will need

Bhetki fish (Known in Thai language as pla kapong, it is very popular in Thai cuisine. It is known as koduva in the Tamil language, kalaanji in Malayalam language, pandugappa in the Telugu language in India) - 5/6 pieces
Onion- 2 large and a half
Garlic- 6 cloves
Ginger paste- 1 tsp
Mustard paste- 3 tsp
Tomato- 1 medium
Green chili- 4 (its spicy)
Turmeric powder
Bay leafs- 2
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Methi seeds- 1 tsp
Dry chili- 1
Salt- as taste
Sugar- half teaspoon

and that's all.

Now fry the fishes well and keep aside.

Make a paste of Onion, tomato, garlic and chili.

Now take flat pan, pour mustard oil about 2/3 tbsp and allow it to heat. Then give all the forans i.e. bay leaves, cumin seeds, methi seeds and dry chili.

When you will find a good smell coming from it, pour all the whole masala paste in that pan and saute. Keep cooking until the masala starts to extract oil. (In the mean time put turmeric powder, salt and sugar) Pour the mustard paste. Saute again for 30 seconds.

Now put all the fishes their with 1 small cup of water, cover it, make the heat/flame low and cook for 4-5 minutes. You may keep the flaming more, you just need to make it somewhat dry.

And it's done...

I wish, those who are spice lovers, will love this recipe... Trust me, it doesn't take much time to prepare and you can also serve it to guests...

Book review: Psycho

I created this blog much before but lazy me have found no interest to push myself to write down something. You guys will find 3 to 4 posts in all. Today I thought to write another masterpiece ;-) .

Last night I've started to read the suspense novel Psycho written by Robert Bloch and it was amazing. I have read a bengali translation of the book and it has only 123 pages, and I should complete it yesterday, but it is also obvious that a house wife like me has countless jobs and she can only read in a leisure time if she had. So I found it today after lunch hour when Samrat had started toward his office.

Well, well, well, one of the most beautiful story is in my hand I can say. Its a bestseller and a worldwide accepted psychological thriller written on 1959. This is the story of Norman Bates, his old-mean-tempered mother, and two sisters Mary and Lila though other characters came inevitably. It is said that the story was based on a true incident occurred on 1957 called the case of Ed Gein. Bloch wrote two sequels, Psycho II (1982) and Psycho House (1990) but I don't have them right now.

It was a bengali translation, but in relation with other translated books, this was much much better (surely you won't expect the real flavor of main script). The novel was adapted in 1960 into the feature film by director Alfred Hitchcock of the same name. Anish Das Apu is a good interpreter and did a good judgement with this book.

Homemade Acne Remover

Today you know I found my face so ugly. One of my chicks is full of pimples and looking so dull. yuk. So I took a tour with Google and found some easiest ways. I thought I should share them....

1. Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies.

2. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.

3. Apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.

4. Place strawberry leaves on the acne, the alkalinity helps to reduce the swelling.

5. Extract juice of one lemon and mix with equal quantity of rose water. Apply this mixture on the face and let it stay for about half an hour. Wash the face with fresh water. About 15 days application helps cure acne, pimples and reduces blemishes and scars.

6. Another method is to massage the face with the skin of lemon before washing with lukewarm water.

7. Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of acne, pimples, insect stings, eczema, scabies, & other skin infections.

8. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. At least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables should be included in your diet. All acne home remedi

9. A couple of garlic cloves, crushed and dabbed on the face 1-2 times a day. One of the smellier acne home remedies!

10. Home face wash for acne: Mix together 1 or 2ml each of the following: witch hazel, tea-tree and sweet fennel essential oils, adding essential oil of geranium for women and essential oil of rosewood for men. Mix with 300mls of water. Shake before use, as the oils will float on top of the water during storage. Dab affected areas with cotton wool two or three times a day. The oils will clean and unclog giving antibiotic-like protection to the skin.

11. Apply fresh lemon juice on the affected area overnight. Wash off with warm water next morning.

12. Use 2-3 tsp. dried basil leaves to 1 cup boiling water. Steep 10-20 minutes. Cool, and apply with cotton ball.

13. Grind orange peel with some water to a paste and apply on affected parts. One of the best acne home remedies.

14. Clean face with cotton wool dipped in rose water 2-3 times a day.

15. Mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice in 1 teaspoon finely ground cinnamon powder and apply on affected areas frequently.

Liquefy cabbage leaves with witch hazel, strain and add two drops of lemon oil. Use as a lotion.

20. Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably less swollen. Works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head.

21. Take vitamin B5 and zinc supplements daily to strengthen the skin's resistance to acne.

22. Mix mint juice with turmeric powder and apply on affected area. Leave for 15-30 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

23. Mix some vinegar and salt in a bowl. Pour a little bit in your hand and rub it on the pimples. Soak a face towel in it and dab it on the bumps. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off.

24. Blend cucumber and make a paste. Apply this as a mask on your face and leave it for 1/2 hour and then rinse. This refreshes your skin and prevents acne.

25. Mix corn flour with egg white and apply on your face. Let is dry completely for 1/2 hour. Dip your hands in warm water and massage your face and wash off. This when repeated regularly gives you a smooth skin.

26. Mix sandalwood paste with rosewater and apply on the face. Rinse off after 30 minutes.

27. Essential oil face mask for acne: Use a mask base powder, such as fuller's earth or kaolin powder. Use distilled or filtered water to make a paste. Mix 1 heaped teaspoon of base powder to 3 drops of essential oil. Add approximately 2 tablespoons of the water in, to make a fluid yet balanced paste. Essential oils to add in the mask either separately or try smaller amounts together; cypress oil 1 drop, lemon oil 2 drops, sage oil 1 drop.

28. Mix the paste of tender neem leaves with turmeric and apply of affected area. An eastern approach to acne home remedies.

29. Grind some nutmeg with milk and apply on affected area. Pimples disappear like magic without leaving a mark.

30. Make a mixture of lime juice and rose water. Apply on face and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

31. Make a paste by mixing 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. Repeat for two weeks, pimples will disappear forever.

32. Rub fresh garlic on and around pimples. Pimples will disappear without a mark with regular applications.

33. Mix 1 tsp groundnut oil with 1 tsp fresh lime juice to prevent formation of blackheads and pimples .

34. Ground drumstick pods and leaves and mix mixed with fresh lime juice, and apply on pimples. This is also good for blackheads and dark spots.

35. First wash face and then dab acne with cotton balls soaked in vinegar.

36. Mix groundnut oil with an equal amount of fresh lime juice and apply on face. leave for 10-15 minutes and wash. It may be applied daily to prevent formation of blackheads, acne and pimples.

37. Apply juice of raw papaya (including the skin and seed) on swelling acne, pimples.

38. Apply fresh lime juice mixed to a glass of boiled milk as a face wash for acne, pimples, blackheads, and cracked skin.

39. Apply ripe Tomatoes pulp on acne, pimples and kept upto 1 hour, then wash.

40. Make a paste of roasted & powdered pomegranate skin with fresh lime juice and apply over acne, boils, pimple, blackheads and whiteheads.

41. Apply grated potatoes as poultice to treat skin blemishes, wrinkles, boils, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads , etc.

42. Make a paste of ground radish seeds with water and apply on face to remove blackheads.

43. Apply a paste of ground sesame seeds with water as poultice for inflammation of the skin due to allergies, skin rashes, and pimples.

44. Large pores on facial skin can be treated with paste of sandalwood powder with masoor dal.

45. Use an oatmeal or almond mask thoroughly to cleanse your face. Mix either oatmeal or almond powder with enough rose water to make a soft paste that spreads easily on the skin. Rub it on your skin with your fingertips, paying special attention the problem areas. Leave to dry for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. This is very good in getting rid of blackheads.

46. A solution made out of one and a half cups of hot water and half a tablespoon of boric powder is an ideal remedy for blackheads, Saturate a face napkin in this hot solution and press on to the skin, repeat twice. Extract blackheads carefully with a blackhead remover and sterilized cotton-wool. Pat on an astringent.

47. Honey is a great remedy for skin blemishes and acne because the honey kills bacteria

Wooden furniture polish

you will need only-
½ teaspoon oil, such as olive oil (I copied and pasted them but u can also add coconut oil as me)
¼ cup vinegar or fresh lemon juice

Mix the ingredients in a glass jar. Dab a soft rag into the solution and wipe onto wooden surfaces. Polish with a dry cotton cloth. Seal in the glass jar and store indefinitely.

So friends,

after a gap again I am with u...few hours ago, I was very depressed. Since last 1 year I didn't go anywhere else. In authentic Indian culture, after marriage you are not able to do anything except your husband. And still now in our culture a boy/man is the symbol of strength and master indeed. F**king Hindu culture. Already have posted on Facebook wall, and see, already 80 comments are there which made my all teeth out!!!

Actually at the time of creating a blog, I had many interesting ideas; but as a very lazy bone, whenever I wished to write, I pushed my back gear and stopped.
