Spring Break

It's finally warm and the sun is shining, and for that reason, this girl needs a little break to go outside. It's been a long winter and Ryker, Molli, and I have been stuck in the house for way too long.

Ryker now crawls under his exersaucer and Molli has decided to sit on the coffee table and look outside. Call it cabin fever, call it grandma lost control, call it whatever you want, but I need to step away from the computer for awhile and have some fun!

That's why I'm going to take a blogging break and enjoy the times I spend with my family and friends. I'll be back and I hope you will, too.

Want to see something that will make your mouth water and you'll wish that you had it for breakfast this morning? You can thank simply Stacie for sharing this with all of us. My mom actually used to make a quiche using ham & asparagus and this reminds me so much of that. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit mom's gift of cooking so I can't wait to try Stacie's version.

I still haven't been doing a whole lot of "crafting" lately, but I did wear my brain out today at embroidery software class learning how to design a quilt block in the hoop. Don't ask me if I understood anything that I learned though. Just did what I was told.

So, for now, Ryker and I are just going to sit back, eat, cross our legs and admire what all you have accomplished and created this past week.

Yarn Storage

Yes, I'll admit it. I've got an over abundance of yarn scattered all over the house in all types of places. I did start with one certain bin for all of it, but when that overflows, you start putting it in all kinds of baskets, drawers, shelves,...okay, you get the idea. I've got yarn stuffed all over our house!

I love this simple, but brilliant, idea that Leen from vrolijk shared with us last week for how she can store yarn now. The wood piece she put on the top to also use it as a table is pure genius!

These small chalkboards that a Vintage Green created using chalk paint and stencils are so darn cute! My favorite is the bamboo cutting board. She has great instructions for you to make your own using items found around your house.
