Our Christmas Present

Christmas came early this year for Brenda and I. July 25th, 2011 Brenda was visiting her niece when they discovered a kitten in the back yard. Her eyes had not even opened so we estimated she was somewhere between 7 to 10 days old.

Brenda's Niece advised that one of her yard cats just had a litter but she had not seen them for two days. This little kitten was crawling along trying to find her mom.

Everyone there at the time decided that this kitten would not live through the night so Brenda decided to bring her home and the next day attempt to find someone to take care of her. But that did not work out.

Brenda called the local Humane Society and they stated they did not have anyone to care for a rescue kitten due to the time it takes to care for a kitten. She knew she could not take her to the animal shelter for they would put her to sleep. So Brenda stopped by the Vet's office and got some pointers and purchased some KMR kitten formula. I did some research on the Internet and we were off on our big challenge. It is a known fact that only 1 out 10 rescue kittens will only survive on a bottle but we were determined.

Just like a new born baby here we are disabled and all up every two hours bottle feeding this little kitten. Then after each feeding to the bathroom to teach her how to pee and poop. This is done by stimulating her private parts until she pees and/or poop.

As you can see from the picture to the left we have made so far. This picture was taken when Lady Bug was about 5 weeks old. This all started July 25th, 2011. So around Christmas day this year (2011) Lady Bug will be 5 months old. I have recent pictures on the camera just haven't uploaded to the computer yet. As soon as we upload I will edit this post and add a recent photo.

She has really been a blessing for me for she keeps me busy and I do not have much time to worry about being depressed. By no one has she been a cure but it sure helps.

We will keep you informed as time goes along about the life of Lady Bug.

eBid and eBay, Which One?

Friends, Customers and Fans.
By now you have figured out that my web stores are closed. In my opinion Jewelry is just not the Niche to be selling on the Internet during this economy. There are still the large web-sites that purchase directly from the manufacture at lower prices than I had to pay the middle man. In fact my supplier has two of their own stores selling jewelry to the public now. I guess the wholesale business must be falling off too.
So after trying everything I could do to move the jewelry after so long with all the money going out and nothing coming in everyone has to call it quits.
So after closing my Web Stores I still have a lot of .925 Sterling Silver Jewelry in stock. So I opened another eBay store and starting listing products. One of the problems I ran into just before I closed my store was that Google Base decided that because I was drop shipping part of my product and half in stock was against their new policies. So they disapproved my account and shut it down. I appealed and tried everything but it did not work.
So In my own way I do not use anything that I do not have to use of Google. As soon as I figure out how to move all these post to the other blogging site I will stop using Google Blog.
Back to the eBay, it cost me $14.95 a month for the Store and $.20 per listing as Buy Now for 30 days. Seven day auctions are $.25 each for 7 days. Plus eBay new fee rates has a final value fee of 12% of final sale price. Not only was it costing more money than the web site still could not sell any thing. So I closed the eBay store.
I had signed up for eBid three years ago. It is out of United Kingdom but they have a US site plus other countries. They are very similar to eBay with one exception. EBid has a one time fee of $49.00 for life time membership so listing is free with a 2.5% final value fee.
EBid is trying hard to get the word out by advertising and I'm going to advertise so people can find me on eBid. To become a buyer just sign up and it is free to buyers. Just click on bid or buy now and it will send to you PayPal or Google Checkout so you can pay just like eBay.

Welcome CNC Jewelry Store Customers and Fans. As you have read and seen the Web-Site www.cncjewelrystore.com has gone out of business. I know with the economy the way it is Jewelry is just not on the top of the list for spending money. My Sterling Silver Supplier sells a very high quality Sterling Silver Jewelry and you can see it in many stores and on eBay. The price of Silver has continued to rise causing the Sterling Silver Jewelry to rise.
So I tried the lower priced Fashion and Costume Jewelry which was a high quality jewelry but made from cheaper material which with Rhodium plated made it to last a long time. The images were not so great but the jewelry was really beautiful. I'm able to sell it very quickly as customers actually see it when they come by here.
But I was paying out each month a lot more than I was taking in. You will be surprised the cost to keep a good looking Web Site on line and keep it secure. Nothing is free!
I still have stock and I will be selling it on eBay as a Auction and Buy Now. I was going to open another eBay store but after studying the cost and seeing all the China and Thailand Stores selling jewelry at $.99 starting bid with Free Shipping there was no way I could compete with that. Dear Friends and Customers of CNC Jewelry Store
I guess the economy caught up with me so I finally had to close the business. All money going out and absolutely nothing coming in, it had to end.
I tried different wholesalers, different products, Facebook Fan Page, Twitter Account (3000 Followers) adds on Facebook, Google and Bing. Had a lot of page visits but no sales. SEO was good and I used Link Manager for link exchange and had plenty of links back to my site. It just wasn't meant to be!!
I will be selling what inventory I have left on eBid ( http://cnc-jewelry.ebid.net ) and on eBay. EBay now has 50 free listings per month with free Buy Now. Only pay if it sells. EBid has no listing fees and only charges when you sell.
I'm on Social Security Disability and not much money left over at the end of the month. I will miss working on the web sites and talking to friends on the forums. My Facebook Fan Page is closed because I did not want to confuse anyone thinking I was still open.

One of the most crucial steps in manufacturing our beautiful jewelry is the plating process. We use only the finest 18 and 14 karat yellow gold and rhodium (cousin of platinum) to create our beautiful masterpieces. We use a process called Electroplating for all our jewelry; let us share some basic information on this unique process:

Electroplating is the process of using electrical current to reduce cations of 18 and 14 karat gold or rhodium from a solution and coat raw jewelry pieces. Electroplating is primarily used for depositing a layer of material to bestow a desired property (e.g., abrasion and wear resistance, corrosion protection, lubricity, aesthetic qualities, etc.) to the jewelry surfaces that otherwise lacks that property.

The process used in electroplating is called electrodeposition. It is analogous to a galvanic cell acting in reverse. The part to be plated is the cathode (raw jewelry) of the circuit. In one technique, the anode is made of the metal to be plated on the part. Both components are immersed in a solution called an electrolyte containing one or more dissolved metal salts (18 karat gold/rhodium) as well as other ions that permit the flow of electricity. A rectifier supplies a direct current to the anode, oxidizing the gold/rhodium molecules that comprise it and allowing them to dissolve in the solution.

At the cathode, the dissolved gold/rhodium ions in the electrolyte solution are reduced at the interface between the solution and the cathode, such that they “plate out” onto the cathode. The rate at which the anode is dissolved is equal to the rate at which the cathode is plated, the current flowing through the circuit. In this manner, the ions in the electrolyte bath are continuously replenished by the anode. Plating thickness is dependent on how long electrode-position is allowed to process.

Ever wonder how all our wonderful jewelry is made? Let’s go behind the lines and find out exactly what goes into crafting these little beauties….

We utilize whats called the ‘lost wax’ technique. It is derived from the process of removing the pattern, made of wax, from the ceramic investment mould. De-waxing is the term used to describe the process of wax removal from the mould.

Once the ceramic shell mould is completed and dry the process of removing the wax pattern can be undertaken. The wax is melted out of the mould creating a void, ready to be filled by another casting material, glass or metal. The mould should be placed on a heat proof perforated surface with a collecting pan/tray placed underneath. It’s a good idea to make sure that there is a quantity of solid wax in the pan/ tray as this keeps the wax that is to be melted out of the ceramic mould from catching fire while it’s being collected.

Heat is focused on the open aperture of the mould and connecting architecture of the mould, to rid the mould of the wax pattern. Heat is distributed evenly around the aperture of the mould so that within a few seconds wax will be seen evacuating out of the base of the mould into a collecting tray. Once this occurs attention can be directed to the main pattern of the jewelry, directing the heat up from the base of the mould, effectively melting concentric sections of wax out of the mould until the top is reached.

The process continues until it can be seen that there is no further wax leaving the ceramic mould. The mould will most usually catch fire, this is residual wax wicking in the mould body and will eventually burn itself out. At this point the ceramic shell mould will be at its most delicate and they require handling with care. Choices on continued processing depend upon the application of the mould and material to be cast.

Once the brass or silver mould is derived from the lost-wax process, it moves into polishing stage. At this stage, the mould undergoes a thorough “metal chasing” where the mould is polished by a polishing wheel removing any and all stubs or blemishes left by the spruing process and thereby leaving a smooth surface. Depending on the structure of a given piece of jewelry, welding may be necessary to connect the pieces together (i.e. necklaces). At this point, stones are set (glued or set on prongs) accordingly on the mould and undergoes another round of the polishing process.

The mould then enters its final step of the manufacturing process: Electroplating. For jewelry to receive a high-quality finish, it must first be cleaned of any contaminants, such as compounds, oils or solder flux that can obstruct the conduction required for electroplating. The cleaned part is placed on a metal rack and submerged in a series of cleaning solutions. Then the rack is negatively charged, attracting the microscopic ions of metal in the plating solution.

Copper usually is the first metal to be plated onto a piece of jewelry. Nickel typically is the next metal to be applied. Nickel eliminates porosity and adds strength and brilliance to the finish. For its final finish, the jewelry piece may be plated with one of a number of metals, including gold, palladium, rhodium, or .925 silver. The thickness and color of a given finish is controlled by the time the piece is left in the electroplating bath and the mixture of the solution. After the plating process, the piece is checked for porosity and shined so it is ready to be presented in its final and pristine form fit only for our customers.

I want to start off by welcoming all the new fan/likes to our CNC Jewelry Store fan page. Thanks to the new fan/likes we are at the 800 mark. Nine more and we will break the 800.
Since the new contract with our wholesale supplier we are adding new higher quality items each day slowly and surely. So please check the page often to see what has been added.
The prices are higher but the prices of Sterling Silver has been rising just like gold. Of course the more silver in a piece of jewelry will make it heavier, stronger and more expensive. So be aware of those super low price stores that sell .925 Sterling Silver Jewelry at super low prices. It is true they are still Sterling Silver jewelry but not as much silver is used in the item. I'm not saying they use some other metal but they use a lot less silver. With our top of the line high quality .925 Sterling Silver Jewelry more silver is used and this makes the item heavier, stronger and more expensive.
Let's put it this way so that I know everyone understands what I'm saying. Super Low Price Store sells a .925 Sterling Silver Ring for $12.95 and the rings weighs 2.7 grams. We list a ring similar but our price is $24.95 but the weight of the ring is 6.7 grams. Both rings are pure .925 Sterling Silver but due to the high price of Sterling Silver our ring is higher but you get more of what you pay for. How do I know this? I started selling Sterling Silver Jewelry I purchased from wholesale suppliers that carried this type of jewelry. I could buy it cheaper and sell at a lower price which worked great on eBay but not on a web-site where my customers have come to expect higher quality and better products.
