Simplicity is KEY people. I'm not an advocate for keeping things simple myself, but it's always good to play it safe rather than look like a turd. Or a drag queen. or Helen Bonham Carter. Or whatever us women are afraid of looking like. Luckily for us, the Dubai based brand Kage has provided us with simplicity at it's best.

We've all seen the simple black tank dress, or the polkadot romper before, but you know what? These are wardrobe staples, and you can never have too many, & you probably don't even own any, so I say: go. buy. it. 'cause. you. probably. don't. have. it.

Wow, that was annoying.

Another thing; if you can go to a park and play in it, I think that says a little about the comfort factor of the brand. Plus, these items are not season or trend oriented, so you can wear them all day, err day. Nuff said.

Sooooooo.....

Watch the video, reminisce about your childhood, get a little depressed about how naturally beautiful that model is. Eat a tub of ice cream, Regret it, then go out and make yourself feel better by buying a little something from Kage.

A Good Excuse to Go Shopping

Please attempt to say that in an infomercial-esque accent.

If your eyes haven't gravitated towards the flashing yellow and blue banner above, then you gotta get them checked.

Gabriele is honestly one of the most insanely creative designers I know, and if you're one of my frequent followers, he should already be familiar to you because of this.

Okay, I don't really know that many designers, but you catch my drift.

Anyhow, what it all comes down to is quality and diversity.

You want studs? He's got it. You want fringe? You betcha. You want to own something that resembles a giant cassette or an exotic animal? HELL YEAH is what I say.

This baby [below] is something that I picked up from the Corto Moltedo boutique on Via Santo Spirito in Milan. It is my birthday gift for the next 2 years. If you happen to go to the trunk show and manage to pick up something in this acid green hue, let me know, we can take pictures together.

Just kidding.

Three's A Charm: Le Grana "Judy" Blazer

Let me tell you something: I might be the most inconsistent blogger you know. Or don't know, but rather ~~stalk~~ follow. One day I'm here, blogging my little heart away, and the next day I pull a Houdini. And by that I don't mean how I get myself out of a straight jacket; I stick to simpler tricks, like vanishing.

But that's all about to change, because I am willing to sacrifice at least an hour of my daily life to supply you with something to read for the sake of consistency, and to be quite frank, in an attempt to increase my followers.

I shouldn't make the assumption that you guys are infatuated by my sense of style, but I quite enjoy posting highly unflattering pictures of myself for the sake of plain ol' entertainment. If you like it, stay, if you don't.. well then, please, STAY as well, because I like to see increased stats on my dashboard.

Now onto tonight's main attraction, The Le Grana Judy blazer.

Traditionally, leather (or faux leather) clad blazers would be more suitable for fall, but Grana has chosen to incorporate this trend into her S/S 2012 collection. And that's fine with me. Here's how I wore the jacket, and If you notice that my face gradually disappears in the sequence, it's because I was having a really bad face day.

Matching It All Up

Guess who's back?!

In all the spirit of a makeover, I decided that my first post after God knows how long should be in unison with the entire scheme of my blog. Hence the yellow and grey outfit.

And I, as well, have come back with a complete makeover; My long locks have now transformed into a short bob, and my body has now packed on approximately 5.6 pounds.

That was only an estimate as weighing scales have now become my kryptonite. I avoid them like the plague.

This is what holidays ~~(among other dilemmas)~~ do to me.

You can choose to love or hate my new look, just as I have chosen to love or hate it depending on the circumstances. Especially when it comes to choosing outfits. Now, my hair has become the queen of my temple, and everything has to revolve around her. Or it. Or whatever gender reference you direct towards hair.

& As you must know by now, I am a huge advocate for dressing up for no apparent reason at all. And taking pictures for you. ~~And for a new potential Facebook picture~~.

This series of pictures is no different. This outfit took me nowhere, and I took it nowhere in return.

Now my lovelies, in welcoming the coming happy and sunny seasons, I present to you my first outfit of 2012.

Okay obviously it's not my first outfit of the year, I might seem quite extroverted, but I know my limits, and everything stops way before prancing around in the nude.

In layman's terms, I did wear clothes before these pictures were taken, I just never thought anything was worth showing.

Too much rambling, too little time.

Okay, okay... I haven't posted in a while and to be very honest, it's because I've been doing absolutely nothing in my life. Which is kind of ironic, because that means I have more time to actually write some posts.

Maybe I should just admit that I'm lazy.

Anyhow, this was another outfit worn out and about in Italy. Nothing special, but damn comfortable.

And frankly these days, after having an extremely bad experience with YSL Trib Too's, which caused me to scream in agony in my car while the poor valet man watched in horror (don't ask), comfort has definitely become my BFF.

Please, I ask for one thing, appreciate the asymmetric zip on the pants, they are probably the most interesting part of the outfit.

But don't stare for too long because then things will be a little awkward.

I decided to call this post Buona Sera because it was probably the only phrase I learnt when I was in Italy.

Enter a restaurant; "Buona Sera".

Enter a store; "Buona Sera".

Not sure if my punctuation [above] was right, haven't had an English lesson in a while.

And that is all I did while I was there. Ate & shopped. Can you blame me?

Even though the food was remotely overrated (I would choose Chinese over Italian any day), I still proceeded to find the biggest bowls of pasta or colossal sized pizzas and chow them down like a hungry lion.

And even though the weather conditions were crappy, it takes a lot to stop me from shopping.

Let's just say I won't be getting any birthday presents from my parents next month.

My birthday is on the 10th of December. Just a reminder for all of you.

Nonetheless, Italy has made it to the top of my holiday destinations, and maybe next time it'll be sans mom and dad. But then again, money doesn't grow on trees..

Just kidding, I love you both if you're reading this. Which I hope you are since you're always on your laptops.

Bow Bloggers Campaign

On a bright, sunny day in Dubai, Nadia was invited to take part in the Bow Bloggers Campaign.

She arrived at the location, and took her seat to get start with hair and make up.

As the make up artist pulled out a bright pink blush palette, Nadia started to get hesitant.

"How the hell is this gonna end up looking good?!" She thought.

Okaaaay guys I'm gonna end the story there.

Unless you want to sit here for an hour reading what I have to say. And it's friday, I don't think you'd wanna do that.

Basically, after the make up scenario, I proceeded to stare at myself in the mirror for a good 10 minutes.

Then, I decided that I actually liked how I looked.

Then went on to change into outfit #1.

I then did some twirly whirly's in the dress, threw in some fake laughs and the occasional roar, and dodged some Godzilla sized ants that were attempting to crawl on my feet.

Onto outfit #2

For this outfit, I had to climb a wall, and sit on it. I then had to "ha ha ha" again, and I had the great idea for them to take a shot of me jumping off the wall.

That was probably the most unflattering picture I had ever seen. Luckily you won't be seeing it.

I looked like Free Willy's sister. Enough said.

All in all, the shoot was fun and casual, the clothes were girly and comfortable, & I didn't feel any pressure or awkwardness being in front of the camera, because like my twitter description says, I'm a supermodel. Which means I'm used to being in front of the camera. Duh.

I would just like to put this out there - I realized today that my spelling is that of a 4th grader, because I had to google the spelling of "asymmetry". If I hadn't done so, I would've spelt it as such: Assymetry.

I would then proceed to make an ass out of myself.

Get it? Ass? ASSymetry?

Give it a second.

No? Okay. I'll laugh at that joke by myself.

Getting to the serious stuff, I have been swamped with work this week, which has ultimately caused to me to have a mild case of insomnia. And unable to dedicate time to my blog-child. Hence the lack of ~~pictures of me looking like an idiot~~ posts.

Yes, this blog is my child.

I am currently blogging at 4 am, so if you read this post and feel like I'm a nut, right now I am.

Actually, I kinda am all the time. All day, everyday day.

I picked up this baby in NYC, and I think I've worn it like 10 times already. And you'll probably see me wearing it again this week.

Casually sitting in the middle of the hall with a stool I pulled from the kitchen. I do this all the time. Just sitting there. Watching. Nothing.

Somewhere midway through that laugh, I snorted. It probably happened while this picture was taken. Hence the facial expression.

Let me just clarify that I do NOT usually snort while I laugh.

So I tried to pull off the Style.com runway look pose. I think this goes somewhere up there with the best of them.

I think that makes me quite cool. At least I think so.

To clarify things, I am NOT the master of public speaking, and luckily enough, they decided to throw a mini on the spot interview with me. Great.

I wish you could only see how I stuttered and mumbled my words, saying "little black girl" instead of "little black dress", and god only knows how I pronounced Philip Lim's name.

For the ones who were there watching and laughing, you are forgiven.

Unfortunately, they didn't compose a bloopers video, because yours truly, out of about 9 other bloggers, was the only one bloop-ing. I like to think that made me unique.

I try to say positive.

Anyhow, to conclude, during the shoot there was a lot of hair whipping (with music), chair posing, spinning and stuttering; my specialty.

Believe it or not, I went to dinner wearing this outfit. I didn't just canoodle around the house wearing it.

Yes, I have a life.

For some reason, half of my body in most of these pictures turned out dark and not so visible. Let's hope it's not some kind of sign like in Final Destination. Where my body is going to get chopped in half by some falling, I don't know, McDonald's sign.

Or something more creative than that. You guys probably think everything I do revolves around McDonald's. That's really not the case.

Here I am, lookin' all cool crouched down on the floor. I was actually stuck in that position for about 5 minutes. I couldn't get up.

I'm just casually walking into that painting, pointing at the camera, like I'm some kind of celebrity. Which I'm not, I assure you. No really guys, I'm not a celebrity.

Ummm LOOK at that masterpiece. My hair looks like fire coming from the corner of the picture. God, I'm so photogenic. I didn't do this on purpose; it came naturally.

Remember the happy camper from my last post? Well.. This is what she really looks like. All tribal and cooooool.

Ms. Happy Camper was such a good photography that I just had to praise her with yet ANOTHER "pointing-to-the-camera-like-a-celebrity" picture. I think this should be made into a poster saying with the quote "You Can Do it".

At least it would look better than this one.

This edition of "Three's A Charm" is dedicated to Juxtapose Jackets; a collection of jackets composed of mixed prints, textures and fabrics created by Nancy Tabbara.

As you should know by now, I'm a simple kinda gal. I try to be extravagant and in your face sometimes, but it doesn't come naturally. Luckily, I managed to have some fun with these!

Courtyard Gallery Dubai - Women in Art VII

The year has come and gone, and another fabulous showcase is exhibited at the Courtyard Gallery in Dubai.

No, I'm not just saying it because it's my mom's gallery. I speak the truth.

This annual exhibition is a reflection of female talent from near and far, and displays everything from sculptures and jewelry to paintings and photography.

Unfortunately, the ONE painting I had my oh-so-exquisite eyes on was snatched up within the first hour. I guess my mom has to settle for buying me a new bag instead. But that's just fine and dandy. Thanks Mama, I know you're reading this. You know what I want. I told you already. And if you don't, I'll happily tell you again.

Great turnout! Regardless of the fact that some ol' chaps came for the free snacks instead (bottom right). Yes, I see you.

Selena Gomez made a pitstop to check out the fab collection. Yes, she's in Dubai guys! She managed to hitch a ride with Eva Longoria! She's wearing a shirt by Zara & J Brand flared jeans.

7 Facts: Prabal Gurung

One of my favorites shows this season was showcased by none other than Prabal Gurung. I was so blown away, that I had a revelation that if I was a man, he would be the one I would marry. Why would I want to be a man? Because no gay man would marry a woman. Not that he would marry me whether I was either a man OR a woman. Not that he knows that I exist at all. Okay. I'm shutting up.

Rather than posting my picks from his latest collection, I thought I'd let you in on a some facts about the man himself.

1. He went to an all boys catholic school in Nepal, where he used to get taunted for sketching all the time.

2. He moved from Nepal to India & studied at the New Delhi Institute of Fashion Technology. While he was there, he managed to get a job with world renowned designer Manish Arora.

3. Another designer he interned with was Donna Karen, with whom he worked with upon moving to New York City.

4. While in NYC, he attended Parsons. At Parsons, Prabal excelled in all classes. The school website's alumni page proudly lists “Prabal Gurung, 2000, AAS Fashion Design. Named best designer in the Fusion show his senior year, he joined Cynthia Rowley’s design house at her request.”

5. In 2011, his Resort collection was featured in Rye Rye's music video for "New Thing". (watch it here; It's pretty addictive).

6. He was named Goodwill Ambassador of Maiti Nepal; An organization for the prevention of human trafficking.

7. Even though he has a huge Hollywood following, his heart is still with Bollywood & has been that way ever since he was a child.

I know the last fact is a little random, but I thought I'd throw it in for the heck of it.

Now, I'd love to see Michelle Obama wearing one of the sheer numbers from his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Who's with me?

Chicken Dinner

I don't know why I wore silk today: the humidity outside made me look like a piece of burnt chicken wrapped in cling-wrap. If you don't get what I'm saying, well, basically my skin and my clothes had melted into one.

It was bloody hot, mayn.

Anyhow, other than that lovely fact, I was pretty fond about today's outfit.

here are some of the pictures; as you can tell, I love hugging yellow pillars.

Another thing, I'm sure many of you are wondering why I have such prominent veins in my extremities. I wish I knew why, they are usually the target of many jokes. Thanks friends (you know who you are). I choose to think they make me look like a woman. I don't know if that makes any sense.
