Club Basketball Tryouts

Love basketball? Want to continue learning and playing through the spring?
Club basketball is a very exciting, fast paced program for youth ages 9 through 14 years old. Teams are in three age divisions with separate teams for girls and boys - Gr 4/5, Gr 6/7, and Gr 8/9. Teams of the same age will also be divided by ability into Tier one and a Tier two teams.

Teams will practice twice a week, and will participate in tournaments throughout the area from March until June 2012.

There will be three nights of tryouts for each age group. Please see below for dates, times and places.

This is an exciting opportunity for youth to increase their basketball knowledge, and enjoy some great competition.

2nd Annual Super League 3 on 3 Tournament

Saturday, March 3

First 30/45 minutes of each session: Lead coaches will run warm up drills and quick introduction of setting screens, screen/roll to basket, getting open with v-cuts, and back door cuts to basket. Adjust to your skill level.

Remaining 60/90 minute session: 3 on 3 games

· Coaches will pick balanced teams from their own team. Use substitutes if needed. Play your scheduled opposing team first.

· Coaches will officiate all games (not just their own team) and monitor when games begin/end

· Play as many games as possible during your 60/90 minute session!

· Recognize the best teams at end of each session

Rules:

1. Most points scored in 15 minutes wins. 1 point/basket. If tied after regulation time, 2 minutes of OT.

2. At end of each game, one team stays, other team rotates to next basket.

3. No foul shots. After three team fouls, one point will be awarded for each foul.

4. Automatic possession of ball after each turnover.

5. Ball must be “checked” after each basket.

6. Jump balls always go to the defense.
