If you, like me, own a domain name, you can install wordpress into your domain's cPanel.

A domain is like www.romance-fire.com I own it because I paid for it. You can apply for your own domain at web-hosting website.

You will need to pay a one-time off subsrciption fee and a monthly fee.

Next, to install WordPress, you can download the programme from wordpress.org
Just download the wordpress zip file and using ftp, transfer the files to say for example www.yourdomain.com/blog folder

If not, just by a click, you can use the Fantastico in your cpanel. Just by a click, your wordpress will be up.

Join a Google Adsense Program

Go to www.google.com/adsense and join the Google Adsense program as a web publisher. Google will then place ads on your web site which are related to your content.

Look around this web site, Google Ads are related to "making money" because this Blog shares with you tips on using your blog to earn extra cash.

Likewise for My Wedding Blog, ads are related to "weddings".

Caution: Yes, you can get excited by your source of passive income. DO NOT click on your ads or ask friends to click for you. Google is able to track the address from where the ads are clicked and will MOST LIKELY terminate your account and you can Never apply again...meaning banned... Google takes this seriously.

So just post your ads up and publicise your blog so many readers...say 10,000 readers per day go to your web site. I shall touch on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) in my future posts...>.<

Find a pool of hungry fishes and throw your bait in. What happens to your bait?

Same thing will happen only if you blog on a niche topic. The bait is just like your blog and the hungry fishes are the readers who flood your blog, only if your blog is sticky enough.

My Wedding Blog was born on 1/8/06 and on 8/9, 157 out of 259 visitors (60.6%) added my blog as favourites. Today is 26/9, 529 out of 771 (68.6%) added my blog as favourites.

I think the reason why they added my site as favourite is because they find the info on my blog of value to them and they will revisit it again for the info they may need in the future.

The content of my site "sticks" onto the readers such that they come back for more.

Be prepared to update your blog with at least a new post everyday for the next 3 months and if your blog is interesting enough, readers will want to come back for more.

Start a blog only if you are ready to put in this amount of effort. Blogging is a life-long journey. >.<

Helping a friend out in become a Professional Blogger

It is not so easy to become a pro-blogger. Just like a business, you need consistency and commitment.

I spent 1.5 month (about 45 days) on developing my wedding blog www.romance-fire.com and I can say, only right now it is almost operational. There is always room for improvement. So I didn't say FULLY...:p

To know how many views you have for your blog, you can use a counter like this: site meter

I also use another free counter called extreme tracking.

Both can show you how many views you have for your blog, where did they view it from and many more.

You can see it has about 400 views when it was first launched. Now, the traffic is dropping and it has about 100 views per day.So now to know how many people view your blog. Go get a counter right now!!!

Choosing a Theme for Your Blog

What kind of Blog do you want? Is it a personal Blog? A blog that diaries your life? What is your target group? Is it a niche? Is it a hobby blog? A blog on cos-play and the costumes? A blog on peers who have BGR issues? A blog for students to share their stress and worries?

To bring traffic to your blog - meaning for a consistent readership...your blog must be uniqe. It must have good substance, useful information that readers can read and learn.

To come up with another blog of a similar kind to your friends' is a waste of time. There are millions of the same blogs out there. Do look out for website like technorati.com and you will be able to explore what kind of blogs are commonly out there and which are the more uniqe ones.

Do spend time to think about what I have just said. I have a friend who has a blog on bonsai plants and another friend has a gold-fish blog. So what is yours?

Hi, It has been quite some time I have last blogged about how to make money from the internet. The reason is Blogger.com crawlers identify my blog as a spam blog. I was like HUH?

What it actually meant is there are crawlers cralwing all over the internet. They will check your website and taking down notes. So does Blogger.com. I think how it works is there is software out there to create tens or even hundred of fake blogs. So I think these are done by the spammers.

So Blogger.com might have msitaken mine as a fake blog and freeze my posting. That means I can't post anything at all since my last posting.

The interesting thing is people did email me asking me to form a business partnership of internet marketing. I really feel honoured and as I consider myself still very green. But I will still try my best!!! My goal is to get at least 10,000 views per day for my wedding blog: http://www.romance-fire.com/ So Ganbatte!!!

Is Your Blog Reader-friendly?

Is your Blog eye-catching? Is there too many words with no pictures? Is your information easy to read?...

When I do a Blog to attract readers, the first question that I asked myself is what do I want if I'm the reader.

Here are some of my conclusions:

I think the words must be big enough to read, preferably black and the font is a common font so all PCs can recognise.
Images are welcomed, but too much such that they become too overwhelming.
Does the image serve a purpose? If not, don't put at all?
Is the header eye-catching? Does it make the reader want to read on?
Is the sub-header of a different colour? (if not, it will be a sea of block-colored words)
Is the sub-header eye-catching?

These are some of my basic considerations. Next, once the blog is up with 10 posts or more, I will discuss some of the basic SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). It means making your blog known to the internet-users.

Adding Content that is Close to Your Heart

Blogging is writing diary. Just like writing a diary, it takes discipline to write everyday. Many times when I see people's blog, the entries are random. Some write everyday, then stopped for many days and write again. Some put about 3 entries per day and find that it is too tedious and gave up. Others were very enthusiatic initially and lost the flame over some time.

To enjoy blogging, write something that you believe you want to share. Write something that you want to tell the world, provided it is legal, moral and ethnical. Write something that can push you to write more everyday. Write something that you want to write which is the first thing you do in the morning and last thing you must do at night.

It is a long journey. Readers wil get addicted to your blog and want to read more. And so they will want to read your post regularly. Reading blogs may make them feel relaxed, or feel they want to know more and know what and when is the next post.

Readers once find a favourite blog will seldom let go. They will always want to be updated by your posts. Once your posting stops, your readers will stop coming back too.

So spend sometime to think of something that you will write for at least 1 year. Before you can launch your blog, post at least 10 to 15 postings so your readers will have substance materials (good quality information) that they can read and that can keep them thinking after logging off their computer. Blog something your readers can relate to. This is called quality blogging. Don't just blog for the money. Blog because you believe in sharing your ideas to the world. So Good Luck! :p

My friends around me are starting business. Are you one of them?

Some want to sell their art work. Others want to do catering service. Some others want to be millionaires by the age of 30.

Everyday, people ask me how to start business. What is the business that can bring them to the millionaire dream?

I remembered Adam Khoo once said in his book "Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires", that any business can fulfill your dream. The core factor is yourself: your value, belief, identity and PASSION!!!

Having the Right Mindset

With the right mindset, then money will come in. I understand that we always have so many things to do. As students, we have to wake up early in the morning and rush through the lessons till evening time. By the time, we reach home, most of us are already dead tired.

Then, when the tiredness set in, we will want to rest. We just do not have enough rest. If I couldn't get enough sleep, I will feel lethargic tomorrow. I will feel tired.

Many times, I tell my friends that setting aside a certain amount of time to attend to your personal business takes committment and consistency. I have seen some started for a few days and gave up because they do not have the right mindset to go on. They thought that making money is easy.

Making money takes lots of effort. It is like eating. Before we can taste our favourite food, others will have to go marketing, wash and prepare the ingredients. Then, time is needed to cook. Even after eating, someone has to clean up the dishes.

So, what I want to say is if you don't like to get our hands dirty and staying up till late to do whatever you need to do such that you can deliver to your customers, don't start at all. To have your successful busines, you got to do whatever it takes to succeed. There is no choice to give up!!! It is a MUST to SUCCEED!!!

When I was studying, I was always on the lookout for money-making opportunities. It ranges from

1) Selling second-hand items at Flea markets
2) Selling self-made cards
3) Making photo-albums into CDs
4) Selling flowers during Valentine's day
5) E-baying
6) Professional Blogging
7) Affiliate marketing
8) private consultant to students
9) Home tutors
10) Selling beaded jewellery

These are basically what I have done and manage to profit from what I have done. Being tutors can be tedious because you got to physically move around and you got to take into consideration the travelling time.

Now it's the Information Technology age and many people are blogging or setting up websites to do internet business. These toys are not just for the professionals; even secondary school students or even primary school students can profit from all these new internet tools and YOU can earn extra pocket money up to $5,000 per month ...Starting from scratch. You can buy whatever you want..be it the latest shoes, playstations, or the clothes that your parents don't allow you to buy.

Hey, I'm not saying you defy your mommy but it is always good to save for rainy days just in case.
