However it looks like iOS 5.1.1 is already jailbroken somehow by this fellow. iOS Hacker Stefan Esser aka i0n1c, the man who had successfully jailbroken the new 3th generation iPad running iOS 5.1, has just revealed something that looks like he has also jailbroken his 3th gen iPad running iOS 5.1.1. How? After clicking the link in this tweet, just sent out at the same time I posted my iOS 5.1.1 post, It revealed the interesting picture below.

but what do we really see here?

If this picture is genuine, then we see a 3th generation iPad running on iOS 5.1.1 which is just released, and showing Cydia, the alternative App Store and only available after a jailbreak.

- by iPhone-tips-tricks.com - Just landed a couple of minutes ago iOS update 5.1.1. This update is available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This update brings with is a number of much-needed bug fixes and some improvements regarding synchronization. Also some minor issues are fixed. I had not be able to check the fixes yet because of some private activities which needs my focus at the moment. Also there are some security content in this update.
To update goto Settings > General > Software Update > Tap the "Download and Install" button and the 47 Megabyte package will be loaded making your iOS device part of the game.

iOS 5.1.1 just landed as software update OTA

This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:
Improves reliability of using HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut
Addresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks
Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in some circumstances
Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List
Fixes an issue where 'Unable to purchase' alert could be displayed after successful purchase

A: Well, in the past this was the setting used to unveil new iPhones and more. However, because the last iPhone 4S was unveiled last fall, this date may be a little to tight to introduce a new iPhone. Q: So? A: Personally I guess it is time to introduce a new device or service. I mean I think the reason the new iPad is named "iPad" and not "iPad 3", is the fact iOS and the hardware is matured. It is ready to reincarnate in other forms of devices. For example reincarnate in a television set or a HD furniture, an by Apple designed furniture with a cinema like super high resolution screen, integrating the Apple TV with a iPad like remote and an optimal integration with iCloud. Off course there is Mountain Lion OS X, which integrates also better in iCloud than Lion and the new reincarnations of iOS. That is what I hope to see or hear as a consumer and Apple fanboy. Off course all products works together as usual. Please tell me in the comments what you are guessing and / or expecting at the WWDC2012 ?

By the way, I think fall 2012 will better fit for the next new iPhone together with iOS6, which I expect to be named just as "iPhone" and not iPhone 5.

Mark Zuckerberg himself, just posted on his Facebook page that Facebook has acquired Instagram, the photo sharing service with the very popular app Instagram for the iPhone and since last week also for Android.
According to media, Zuckerberg bought it for $1 Billion. Therefore, the Instagram team is joining the Facebook team.
" Facebook, the world’s largest social network, said it had agreed to buy Instagram, the popular mobile-centric photo-sharing service, for $1 billion in cash and stock, giving it a stronger foothold on mobile devices. It would be Facebook’s largest acquisition to date by far."

Integration of both Instagram and Facebook is according to Zuckerberg not main focus. He has explained it as following in his todays post:
"We believe these are different experiences that complement each other. But in order to do this well, we need to be mindful about keeping and building on Instagram's strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook."

This video that I found on youtube shows an impression of a hybrid device, combining an MacBook computer and an iPad with a multi-touch screen. Very good video and design idea. However, I can imagine this design had never made it to Steve Jobs or Jonathan Ive's desk. First, it is a normal Macbook computer, nothing wrong with that. But when you bend and fold the screen and keyboard part, you get an sort iPad with a stand. However your keyboard is used as bottom and that, I think, is not made for the Apple user like me. It is a painful experience to hear the sound of scratches made by rubbing the keyboard against my beautiful desk. And placing a cover on the keyboard not so practical, What is your opinion?

A: Well, Terry Myerson says that Apple's habit of releasing software updates for current iPhones is really just a way to sell more hardware. And he also did take the opportunity to slam Apple:
I think Apple ‑‑ you're right, you can download iOS 5 for iPhone 3G, and it won't be usable, but it's possible to install .... It's a great hardware sales tool as far as I can tell. Install this OS which makes your hardware unusably slow, so then you feel compelled to go back to the store and buy a new piece of hardware.

But why does this man concentrate on his competitor? Is it not better for Microsoft to concentrate on their one products, own beliefs? Jealousy or what. First of all the iOS5 won't run on the iPhone 3G but from a iPhone 3GS. Then, there are some many iPhone 3GS users running iOS5. I feel confident to say that at this very moment, there are more iPhone 3GS devices running iOS 5 than Windows Phone 7 capable devices running the latest greatest Windows Phone something OS. What that means is that the millions of iPhone 3GS users have installed and still using.....iOS 5. Usable enough or not usable? Please let the iPhone 3GS

Worlds largest manufacturer of computer parts is Foxconn. They have clients like Dell, Sony, Nokia and ofcourse Apple. In the past there were cases of suicide committed by personnel, blaming the high work pressure and the low payout. The plants are secured very well, and visitors are not allowed. Till now, no journalist were allowed to go in, However, Bill Weir from ABC News managed to get a permit to go in and film the plant. He interviewed a woman, who's job is to assemble the iPad 2. He also gave the woman an complete assembled and working iPad 2. - It was the first time she saw a completely working iPad - The woman needs to work three full months to buy one iPad 2.

Fellow blogger macrum ors has confirmed the iPad 3. First will get an 9.7 Inch 2048x1536 Retina Display. They claimed to have the real display part in their hands, and did simply some measurements by hand ruler and counting the pixels with the human eye. :) The funny thing is that the size of the display is measured to be 9.7 Inch, which is the same display size as in the iPad 1 and iPad 2.

However, there are much more pixels available making the Pixel-Per-Inch (PPI) will grow to 280. We have to remember that Apple has stuffed a 326 PPI screen into the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. see my post HERE This makes the coming iPad 3 display have lower Pixel Density compared with their smaller phone-brothers. But...will this keep me away from buying? Well I think I will pass my iPad 1 to my wife and make me ready for 7 March 2012 for the launch of the new generation. However, keep in mind that 7 March is not confirmed. We wait and see.

What really matters, that what really counts for viewing quality is the Pixel-Per-Inch (PPI) value.
According the report, Apple seems to have a requirement of 280 PPI.

"Pixel density, a barometer for viewing quality, should be increased to over 280 pixels-per-inch (PPI) to meet Apple’s stiff requirement for screen viewing,’’ said another source, who predicts that Taiwanese LCD giant CMI will see smaller orders from Apple than its Korean rivals."

Do you know what I am doing this last week of the year? Right, having a week off enjoying Christmas last weekend and New Years Eve to come. Meanwhile I finally find the peace in me to start reading Steve Jobs
authorized bio. After 5 chapters of enjoyable reading, I am really make my way to getting to know the real person behind Steve Jobs.

As you know, I started this blog in 2007 blogging about the 1st gen. iPhone. When I started this blog back in 2007, the iPhone wasn't released yet but it was announced that year. iPhone TIPS: How to enable Emoji on your iOS5 keyboard?

by iPhone-tips-tricks.com - Emoji is emoticons and even much more. In Japan, these 700+ little creatures are very popular. But in Europe and US and most other countries, they are not. But in iOS5 you can switch them on in your keyboard Q: How can I enable Emoji icons? A: Well it is fairly simple because it is a defined as an international keyboard. Follow these instuctions.

1. Open Settings

2. Navigate to General - Keyboard - International Keyboards
3. Tap Add New Keyboard
4. From the list of international keyboard layouts choose Emoji. see picture below

Have fun with experimenting with the Emoji emoticons.
